Before you even walk in the building looks amazing, it's more spacious in the inside than it looks on the outside. Big open space and a little shop and showcased so many great items. There was jazz music playing and everything just felt cozy. Also it might sound weird but go use the restrooms! They look fantastic and will give you many ideas just for decorating. The food was delicious I had gotten the S'mores Iced Latte, Caprese Toast and shared Berries & Cream Pancakes. You might say wow $14 for some Caprese Toast but it was so filling you really don't need anything else. Everything was reasonably priced due to how elegant and delicious the food was. The service was really quick and it was fairly busy the food was hot and everything tasted really fresh. The people were very kind and helpful with any questions. But that bacon jams sauce really works! - The corn dip we had for an appetizer - that dish was really good. Did I say really? Yeah, really good. - Chicken sandwich - If I was you...I'd skip that one. Nothing special. Dry. Just not a good menu item. To the owners if they read this: The place is too nice to have counter service to order. Both times I've been here, it is always backed up and takes a good while to order. We were the 3rd group back last night. Parties of 2, each group was. And it takes too long. I had the Harvest Bowl, and it was fantastic. So many flavors that worked really well together. I also ordered an aperol spritz and the banana pudding. I might have ordered additional items, but since you order at the counter when you walk in, and pay.. I am here for work and need to have only 1 receipt. Not able to add any items on later. Restaurant is adorable, and food was fantastic. Only downside I observed is the flow of ordering, then sitting. The fact that you order then sit confused several groups of people. There was a group next to me that I could tell had arrived early to get tables to save for their group of friends, that were not yet there. It was going to be a group of 8-10. Came here to with friends for dinner on a Wednesday. It was very busy. We ordered at the counter and had to push two tables together to have seating for 4. I ordered the harvest bowl and an old fashioned. The old fashioned was large and too sweet, but drinkable. The harvest bowl was great! Steak, Brussels sprouts, cranberries, feta, sweet potatoes, over a rice & quinoa blend, with honey Dijon vinaigrette. I really enjoyed this! After dinner, we moved inside and I ordered dessert and a chocolate espresso martini. The espresso martini had what's probably Hershey's syrup inside the glass and wasn't anything special. The banana pudding I ordered was massive and I absolutely should have split it with someone. It was really good. All in all, I'd definitely come back, and probably skip the cocktails. read more

Outside, there's a beautifully manicured patio area that would be a great spot to relax when the weather is nice. A helpful tip for first-time visitors: when you walk in, you order at the counter, get a number, and then choose a seat. They bring the food out to your table. I ordered the strawberry mocktail, which was super refreshing, and the steak. The steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the salad was fresh and crisp. I really wanted to like The Table. The space itself is absolutely beautiful -- one of the best dining rooms in Springfield -- and it feels like the kind of place that should deliver a more elevated, full-service experience. That's part of what made the counter-service model feel a little out of sync with the atmosphere. We first tried visiting as a group of about 12 on a Saturday around 7 PM. I had called ahead and was told they don't take reservations, so we planned accordingly. When we arrived, we were told there wasn't any way to accommodate our group together -- not even the option to wait for space to open up -- so we ended up going elsewhere. I did come back later with a smaller group for lunch. The experience was better logistically, but still a bit disjointed. The menu felt somewhat scattered, and while we were able to find seating at a communal table, the overall flow felt a bit chaotic. After ordering at the counter, the wait for food was quite long -- around 45 minutes or more -- which gave us plenty of time to observe how things were running. Toward the end, I noticed tables being marked as unavailable/reserved, which made me wonder why a similar approach couldn't have worked for larger groups earlier. When the food arrived, it was good -- nothing wrong with it -- but not especially memorable, especially considering the wait and price point. There's a lot to like here, especially the space and overall concept, but the execution didn't quite match the expectations for me. I do think with some adjustments to service flow and consistency, this could be a much stronger experience. read more

My experience at the table was absolutely insanely impressive. We got there about 9:30 am and the line was not very long yet, I would suggest going about that time if you're looking for breakfast so that the line would not get as long by 10 AM. Everything is homemade and delicious, best biscuits I have ever had. Highly recommend getting the Carmel latte as well! Also the burrito has pulled pork that was really juicy. Eh, I might try this place again and update my review at that time, but so far, I'm not impressed with the overall experience. Here are my thoughts from my first and only visit thus far. We arrive before dinner rush and there's a group of people clustered together outside. I thought they were all together and were waiting for their large party to be seated, so I walk straight to the door to put my name on the list. I reach for the door handle and I'm abruptly stopped by a guy standing outside. I thought he was a customer who was part of that large party, and I was confused as to why he was inches from my face trying to stop me from going inside. It took me a moment to comprehend what was happening, but then I realized that he either worked there or owned the place and was trying to tell me that I couldn't go inside. He said "the line starts back there" and pointed to the people wrapped standing in clusters on the porch/patio area. I couldn't tell before based on where we parked, but there was a moderate line of people waiting to put their name on the list (or so I thought), wrapping around the front of the building. Ok, my bad. I go to the end of the line and other customers in line explain how this place works. They weren't waiting to put their name on a list, they were waiting to place their order. This is the kind of place where you order and pay at the counter, and then go grab a seat.... ugh... I can't stand that style of restaurant, so that was an immediate turn off. This place was too elaborately designed to be styled this way for the service. Speaking of, let me backup a bit. This building looks really cool. There's a very huge, ornate door, large windows, lounge areas outside, etc. This is not an order-at-the-counter-and-find-a-seat type of place. We finally make it inside and see that there's still a long line to get to the counter to order. I am not a fan of places that don't have full table service and let you order at your table. And for any restaurant owners reading this, I absolutely will spend more money at a restaurant with full table service because I can take my time to review the menu at the table before placing my order. When I can take a moment to review everything, I don't feel rushed to make a decision. So, your loss there. Anyway, we make our way inside the door and that same guy is hovering over us and the other folks entering the building. It was really awkward. He opens the doors for each group as if we're not allowed to touch the door handle, and not in a doorman sort of way. It was really uncomfortable, especially since they have a small mercantile inside that you could be coming to shop at even if you don't want to eat. But I guess you have to wait in line to do that too. The whole line issue was a major turn off for me and for that reason alone, I'm not sure we'll return. Ok, so we're reviewing the menu and it's quite limited on entree options. The 417 Foodie guy was there too and he gave us some suggestions of things he liked on his last visit, so we took that into account. There are a good amount of bakery items you can order, but you can't see all the options until you get to the counter... where you feel pressured to order quickly. We place our orders and then it was time to fight for a table when most of them were taken by people who hadn't received their food yet. I saw people sitting with their groups at various tables, and then the staff would have them move elsewhere, presumably so there would be a better match of patrons to seats at the tables. So, at least they helped with that. A lot of the furniture was cloth that's impossible to get clean, so I'm not sure why they chose that style of furniture for a restaurant that offered more than light bakery items and coffee. Doesn't seem like a good choice for a place flipping tables so quickly; BUT, it did fit the vibe of the place. Speaking of the vibe, you have to visit the restrooms. I only visited one of them but it was very cool! Ornate fixtures, a really cool mirror and sink basin. Even the outlet plates were ornate and vintage. The decor was immaculate in the restrooms and in the dining area. Now back to the food. I had the smashburger and fries with a tea, and I also ordered a coffee and lemon bar. It was all good, but not worth the price, at all. Everything was served on wooden dishes, some of which had imperfections that would hold onto bits of food. There's no way these wooden dishes are going to last or remain sanitary for repeated use by customers, so that was a bit disconcerting. These aren't the type that can be run through a dishwasher. So yeah, overall, the place is a vibe, definitely. The service options were a let down. The food was good, no complaints there, but the price is not even close to comparable for what we received. Would I go again? I'm honestly not sure. It's possible. Not sure I could talk my husband into it though. He wasn't a fan. read more

So I came here on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and literally the weight was over 45 minutes just to order food. The parking lot is far too small for how busy this establishment is. The inside is very eclectic and clearly everyone is enjoying it and Springfield because it is absolutely packed. I have never seen a restaurant so busy in this town in my entire life!! The staff here are extremely personable and friendly, and truly make sure that everyone is aware of the reality of time you'll spend waiting to order and finding a table. This restaurant is the most adorable place I've ever ate at. My family and I decided to stop by to have dinner while we were staying in Missouri, and we've never been to the state before. The ambiance of the restaurant was so much different than any place we've been before. You walk in, and notice how elegant the place looks, but it's all self serve! You order at the front and refill your own drink and everything but they still serve your food to you. Super cool location. Mix between a tea room a novelty shop and a solo. Arrive at off hour times. The typical wait to order during normal meal hours can be between 25-45 minutes. If you are in a group of more than you are asked to move to the side until a table big enough opens for your group- and everyone behind you gets to order ahead of you- after you waited 25 minutes to just get to the counter to order. After you are seated you definitely feel the push to hurry along so more can be seated. Unfortunately for the table- it's one of the few non chain restaurants to come to town. The food is ok. Been here twice. Once when they first opened and now. Same thing different day. I hope they get it fixed before people stop returning. read more

I went in very skeptical and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a Monday night at 5:30 and the place was packed. The line was to the door. But it's clear they have a system and it works. It seemed like we would have to wait quite a while for a table but while we waited one of the owners was watching tables move and getting everyone seated timely. By the time we ordered our food there was as a table ready and within 25 minutes we had our food. The ribeye was cooked perfectly the street corn dip was delicious. We didn't have any trouble finding seating and our food came out shortly after. I had the avocado toast and it was delicious! I would definitely order it again. The food was excellent, and the space itself is open, bright, and feels brand new. That said, I'm not a big fan of the "order at the front, then we'll bring it to you" setup--especially outside of a bakery or café, where it at least makes more sense. This really feels like a true sit-down restaurant, just without traditional table service. During the lunch rush, the line stretched out the door and around the corner. Waiting 30 minutes just to order, with no guarantee of finding a table afterward, isn't ideal. On top of that, there was someone trying to manage seating for people still in line, which made the whole experience feel a bit chaotic and unnecessarily complicated. All that said, I'm glad to have a place like this in town. It's great to see a historic space brought back to life, and the food definitely delivers--it's just the ordering system that doesn't quite sit right with me. read more

Some may find the entree selections to be limited. I chose the ribeye steak, mashed potatoes and the Greek quinoa salad. It was not cheap but, honestly, I did not mind. The steak was absolutely perfect, melt in your mouth, seasoned and cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes held their own against that amazing steak. The salad...i would have liked a bit more greens and a bit less grain, but it also was very good. My friend had the chicken tenders and sweet potato fries and she loved all of it - I tasted her fries they were so good. Another friend had the hamburger and said it was outstanding. You order your food and pay at the counter and staff brings the food to your table. The service was very good - there is plenty of staff around if you need anything. I loved the atmosphere. It's warm and inviting and very nicely appointed with reclaimed old wood shelving and counter. There is also a little gift shop that i did not get to explore this time. The space is large with high ceilings and a great firepit right in the middle of the room, the chimney goes up thru the ceiling. I was very pleasantly surprised - I really liked the whole vibe. The music was perfect and the food was great. I definitely will be going back. They have outdoor firepits too, I'm interested to see how it evolves. I wasn't sure what to expect. The line was long coming in, which actually didn't bother me. What I did find frustrating was that no one was monitoring the door and people sandwiched in or opened and shut the door as there wasn't room. If a staff member were to help direct people, the flow would have worked better. The ambiance inside was nice but I found that although there was a long line people at tables weren't motivated to leave or move along. One table was a woman finished but doing work on her laptop and another table where two women finished eating but in no hurry to leave. While I don't like feeling rushed, it was not the environment to "hang out" while the wait was so long to get in. The main reason I gave three stars was because of my sandwich. My husband read me the menu online as I drove us to the restaurant. When I got to the front I didn't reread the menu because I spotted the item and ordered it. However, due to me assuming, I made a mistake. The Everything Croissant was listed online as having Brie cheese, along with the other items like jelly, greens, and turkey. What I got was provolone. This is a HUGE cost and taste difference. The jelly amount and sweetness overpowered the sandwich as provolone doesn't have the strong flavor that balances the jelly. It literally tasted like a jelly sandwich on a croissant. Disappointed. read more
