This shop is charming (and as someone who hasn't lived In Springfield for many years - unexpected!) Their selection of tea, porcelain ware, and other odds and ends are lovely. It was also one of the few shops open on Sunday. We loved the atmosphere - inviting and warm. The man behind the counter was really friendly. Went in here on a whim. What a nice store, with good prices and beautiful items and excellent teas and spices. I bought some jasmine tea pearls; wonderful aroma. Wonderful little shop full of tea impedimenta, my favorite type of impedimenta! They have a great selection of tea/coffee cups, handmade pottery mugs, tea-brewing bottles, and the like. The items I hadn't seen before were a cat shaped individual tea pot and cup set, as well as a similar type of individual tea service that came with two cups! Very handy for we married tea consumers. Their selection is tea strainers and reusable tea bags was also notable. The tea and spice selection was really good. We tried a tea blend (blueberry, chocolate, Kenyan black tea) that was very tasty. Definitely recommend if you're looking for loose leaf tea. They also carry Puka, which is a favorite bagged tea for me. read more

This was one of the few places open when we found ourselves driving through town and pausing in this upcoming neighborhood. I picked up a pack of chai spices and wow, it's maybe the best I've had at home so far. I wish I lived closer because I'd be addicted by now. Cute store, smells great as soon as you walk in. Huge selection of teas, spices, and accessories. Found a great bamboo tea caddy that I can leave in the cup while the water heats in the microwave. Lots of cute tea pots, and found some really good dark chocolate with sea salt to go with a dessert wine. I wandered back out 30 minutes later with a hazy smile on my face, a bag full of loose tea packets, and a zip-up hoodie that proudly proclaims me as a tea and spice aficionado (not a true statement but crap, I have the shirt so who is going to question me?). I loved this! I'm a huge fan of loose leaf tea, first discovering it through Teavana, then checking out Argo in Chicago, and purchasing lots of loose leaf tea through Adagio online. So when I saw a Chabom Tea & Spices vendor table at the recent Girls Just Wanna Run 5K + 10K run, I had to check it out. There were free samples and handouts that encouraged me to stop in, so later that day, my sister and I were in the store and loving it! Tea & Spices is definitely appropriate. While there's a large selection of quality loose leaf tea, there's even more spices. I'm so happy I found this place, because I love to cook with unique spices and it's hard to find them all in grocery stores. There are also other things like candles, soaps, etc. It's a good place to just stop in and check out. My sister and I ordered an ice tea brewed from one tea selection she picked out, and I can't remember exactly which one it was, but it was perfectly refreshing for a hot day post 10K. The to-go cups Chabom uses are made from sugar cane fibers, so they're biodegradable and the barista suggested I not reuse it too many times. He then wrapped up the tea packets he made so my sister and I could reuse them later that day for another cup. All their tea is very potent, so it can easily make more than 1 cup, which is awesome. I also bought some loose leaf pomegranate green tea myself. Unlike Teavana or Adagio, you can buy however little or lot of tea you like, so I took 2 oz. I love Chabom, I can't wait to go back for more, and also to try their sister shop, Cafe Cusco, another time! read more

I am excited to have this new shop in town, so I have been singing their praise to everyone I know. The shop is well-kept and the staff are incredibly friendly. They have a nice selection of both teas and spices, all good quality from what I've seen, and their staff seems very knowledgeable. You can get a cup of any of their loose-leaf teas either hot or iced and they have some small food items and pastries as well, which I plan to sample in the future. My initial excitement for this store was to not have to travel to Branson or order online for my spices. However, after shopping here we are equally excited about the teas. We have been frequenters of Teavana until now, but find the teas here to be just as good, with what's probably a better selection, not chock full of froo-froo tisanes. On top of that, you aren't required to buy a minimum of two ounces like you would at Teavana, and the prices are considerably cheaper. Definitely stop in and check this place out, if just to browse. We will be frequent visitors I'm sure, and hope to see this new shop staying in Springfield for a long time. read more

Everytime I go here, I'm surprised by their selection and variety. I've found spices here that I can't find anywhere else in Springfield and at a reasonable cost too! They have spices, teas, essential oils, soaps, salts and several other smaller things. You'll be amazed how many things you can think of cooking once you walk in here! The ladies behind the counter were very ver friendly and I had a great time talking to them. They carry bulk spices at reasonable prices. They even offer a group of restaurant quality spices and give a portion of proceeds back to the Victory Trade School! I am in love with this store. That's all there is to it. I make it a point to visit them on small business Saturday, because they always have awesome perks and specials... But it's so nice to pop an, look around at some of the cool merchandise, and have them Brew you a fantastic cup of tea. Hot, cold, whatever type and level of sweetener that you want... It's fantastic. If you drink tea at The Mudhouse, definitely give shabam a try. A thousand times more social, and a whole lot more product to shop for. And honestly, tea aside, I have spent so much money and spices here it's ridiculous. They have rows and rows of bulk spices, seasonings,... Anything you could possibly want. Imagine the spice wreck at Mama Jean's. They have all kinds of interesting salts and cheese powders... Just interesting meat stuff. I don't believe I've ever wants sat down and waited for my tea to be done here. I'm always looking around at all the neat merchandise. There's a lot of local beauty products, food, essential oils and accessories... It's just a really really interesting store.
