Blueberry compote, balsamic, Brie and cheddar cheese and ham on sourdough with fruit

Adorable and quaint little bistro with great food and service! The winding walk through the garden center makes such a gorgeous entry. I can't wait to see it in the spring! The food is delicious and everything tastes so fresh. Service is very attentive without being overbearing. The desserts are spectacular! Highly recommend

Purple = parking, Yellow = walkway entrance.. chose a path. Find the kids hangout spot - if you dare.. :)

I stopped by and almost couldn't find the Bistro; don't be discouraged - read on!! The signs are well placed, a short walk thru beautiful flowers and "curiosity landscaping" will give you a shop for the plants and a Bistro (turn to the left in the shop building).. The food looked amazing and seems popular; I just wanted coffee today.. The staff is friendly, quick to help and answer questions and there are more shops in the same area (see photos). Delicious coffee, also! I chose something with "Stevia" or something else that only tastes bitter for me, so I will be back & hopefully food will be in my next order! Don't forget a punch card!!

This is nothing fancy. But if you are looking for a classic diner with nice people, this is a good…read moreplace. I ordered two eggs and bacon with grits and toast. I'm a big fan of grits and it's hard to find places that serve them, so I was excited when I saw grits on the menu. It's hard to mess up this type of food, so it's my go to when eating breakfast at a place like this. I thought they did a good job. The amount of food received was good, however the bacon was my only complaint. It was almost paper thin. I like the crunch that you get from this type of bacon, but it's definitely not a lot of bacon. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was friendly. We got in and out in less than an hour, so I felt that was good. Normally when I'm in this area we are camping so I cook. This was a nice change and I was glad to try something different.

Husband works construction down in Branson West. Wanted to try Donnie's for lunch. We arranged to…read moremeet there on a Friday. We both drank water with our meal. According to the menu, our food was $23. It was palatable and good sized portions. Our bill was $28.04 before the tip. That's $5.04 in tax. McDonald's in Branson West is a 10% tax. This was over a 20% tax. We don't know how much we paid in tax or an unknown charge. Since they don't provide itemized tickets, just total due before the tip is added. Food was okay. But service was slow and the mysterious charge leaves a bad taste.

Great food. Great service. Came in the weekend and there was a buffet. everything was wonderfulread more

I may need to update my review of this place after we've given it another shot, assuming that we…read moredo. That said, here's how our visit went. I should start by saying that we arrived fairly late, I'd say within the last 40-50 minutes that they were open. We didn't realize that we arrived so late inside the restaurant as it took a while to park and make our way inside. When we arrived and made our way to the ordering/checkout stand to place our order, the guy just stared at us and didn't even say a word. No hello or anything. The vibe he gave us was very "go away," even though he didn't actually say that of course. We asked if it was OK if we order and he grunted out what we thought was a "yes." I have to say that I am incredibly disappointed with the fact that this is the type of place where you go up and order your food and then sit down. Seems like a missed opportunity by them not having table service. It felt very much like a concession stand that happened to be outside of a gift shop. When trying to figure out what to order, we had a few questions for the young kid running the register. The entire time he's barely speaking a word, so it was incredibly awkward and irritating. We order our food and my husband had to ask another question, which he either did not hear or just deliberately ignored. When our food comes out, it's delivered to the table and we tried to eat quickly so we could get out of their hair. For a restaurant that's tied to a tourist trap, we did not feel welcome at all. Now, I'm not an idiot, I know we showed up within the last hour of their day, but come on, this is a tourist spot. I feel like the staff should've been a little more gracious. If this had been my business, I would be appalled at how my customers were being treated, no matter what time they arrived. On another note, the older gentleman out in the parking lot that was driving the tram from the restaurant area to the parking lot area was an absolute delight. We did not even ride the tram and I can tell you that the man driving it really enjoys what he does. He was so polite and friendly, even when we declined the ride. Kudos to that guy for providing excellent customer service. Anyway, back to the restaurant. I ordered the shepherds pie, which was actually pretty good. It came out hot as blue blazes Dallas though lol, so I had to keep blowing on it to cool it off. If we do end up giving this restaurant another shot, I would be happy to order the same thing again. My husband was not a fan of his food though. I can't recall what he ordered. We both tried the baked beans and they were pretty good. Anyway, I'm tired as I'm writing this so it's probably going to come off a bit jumbled. Short story long, we will likely try this place again at some point in the future since we are local and also plan on checking out the Shepherd of the Hills activities. That said, customer service could use some improvement in the restaurant itself.
