I should start by saying that we arrived fairly late, I'd say within the last 40-50 minutes that they were open. Seems like a missed opportunity by them not having table service. It felt very much like a concession stand that happened to be outside of a gift shop. When trying to figure out what to order, we had a few questions for the young kid running the register. The entire time he's barely speaking a word, so it was incredibly awkward and irritating. We order our food and my husband had to ask another question, which he either did not hear or just deliberately ignored. When our food comes out, it's delivered to the table and we tried to eat quickly so we could get out of their hair. For a restaurant that's tied to a tourist trap, we did not feel welcome at all. Now, I'm not an idiot, I know we showed up within the last hour of their day, but come on, this is a tourist spot. I feel like the staff should've been a little more gracious. If this had been my business, I would be appalled at how my customers were being treated, no matter what time they arrived. On another note, the older gentleman out in the parking lot that was driving the tram from the restaurant area to the parking lot area was an absolute delight. We did not even ride the tram and I can tell you that the man driving it really enjoys what he does. He was so polite and friendly, even when we declined the ride. It came out hot as blue blazes Dallas though lol, so I had to keep blowing on it to cool it off. If we do end up giving this restaurant another shot, I would be happy to order the same thing again. My husband was not a fan of his food though. I can't recall what he ordered. We both tried the baked beans and they were pretty good. Anyway, I'm tired as I'm writing this so it's probably going to come off a bit jumbled. Short story long, we will likely try this place again at some point in the future since we are local and also plan on checking out the Shepherd of the Hills activities. That said, customer service could use some improvement in the restaurant itself.

They were wonton chips with chili, cheese, onions, and peppers on them. It came on a big platter. I could only eat part of them and took the rest home. By the way, they heated up really good in the air fryer the next day. The wonton chips were even better. I also opted for a piece of cornbread with mine. The cornbread was OK. It would've been nice if it was served warm and the butter on top could have melted. I also treated myself to some sweet tea, which was a nice treat. While my dinner was pretty good. A couple of the other dinners at our table were not. My mother ordered the BLT and the lettuce on it was so wilted you couldn't even eat it. You could tell it was like that before they put it on the sandwich and they should've never used that lettuce as it was one of the three stars of the sandwich. Two other people ordered the fried chicken dinner and both of them got very sick later that night. Sparing the details, after a couple hours in the bathroom they felt a bit better. One order the pot roast sandwich and said that was really good. Maybe stick with that instead of the chicken.... I would say make sure you check your ticket before you pay. The waitress had added an extra cornbread on each couple's tickets. We arrived with a party of 8 and we're seated and taken care of extreamly well. We were given constant attention and refills without having to ask for anything. For me personally to give 5 stars the food has been great along with the service bathrooms and atmosphere. The bathrooms were spotless and clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful and the service was on par. I have photos of some of the items ordered we kept it simple to classics and it did not disappoint at all. The food was hot fresh fast delicious and all the above kudos to the chefs in the kitchen that day ! We left town on a high note for this alone and made it an even better experience. Thank you cracker barrel for having high standard for your classic diner great job to staff as well for being on point at every transaction and question. This was my experience hopefully your is as great too!
