Food was terrific as usual. It is always a stop when we visit Branson. Our server was Josh and he was an amazing server! Very family friendly establishment!

[July 2025] This place is a huge tourist attraction. Parking is very difficult. We ended up having to park across the street at a neighboring business' lot that wasn't open yet. I had Gail's Famous Omelet - Ham, mushrooms, cheddar jack cheese, onions and green and red peppers. The omelet was perfect in thickness and the toppings were balanced. They omelet paired well with their garlic hot sauce. I had hash browns and wheatberry toast for my sides. My brother ordered their infamous 14" pancakes. Their bacon is crispy and thick. Their coffee was good too! My mom had a BLT with fries. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we definitely will be back when we are in Branson again.

French toast, crispy bacon, well done but raw hash browns, bacon.

This was the very worst meal we had while on our trip. The waiter Joshua was slow to greet us and once he took our order we never heard from hom again. If you want a big pancake by all means go. The French toast was mediocre and the chicken fried steak was burnt and inedible. The decorations were cute with a 70's theme. This was a big bummer for us.

After driving overnight from Denver for our vacation, we were starving. Luckily, Billy Gail's was open and seated us right away. Our server was so amazing! I regretfully forget her name, but I want to say it was Regina (sorry, if I'm completely off on the name). We were greeted immediately upon being seated where our server told us she would be right with us after attending to another table. Once she came back, she introduced herself and told us about the specials then asked if we would like coffee. Yes, we both definitely want coffee. She went to get coffee and allowed us to look at their extensive menu. We ordered the billion dollar bacon as our appetizer. I ordered their deluxe hash with tri-tip and the hubs ordered their chorizo burrito. The billion dollar bacon was so heavenly and I used the syrup to sweeten my coffee, which was so perfect! I can put down a lot of food, but that hash came out and it was HUGE! I ate it for about 45 min before tapping out and it looked like I took only 2 bites. That hash lasted me 3 more meals! It was so delicious and I wanted to eat more, but clearly ran out of stomach real estate. The hubs' burrito was delicious too and he only ate half of it. Had it been my meal, I would have eaten the entire thing but still would have been waddling out. The MOD came by to see how our meal was and of course, we told him it was amazing! If you love country food, you definitely need to come to Billy Gail's! The prices are amazingly low for the amount and quality of food you get. Get there early though, especially on a Sunday.

This pancake was so delicious! We loved Billy Gail's so much the first time we couldn't wait to go back. This is a fun quirky restaurant! Our server was quick and friendly.

    Big boy still around

The food here is amazing, and the girls say this is the best place for coffee if you want more than hot water like other restaurants serve around here. Great service and cool place give it a try.

You will not leave hungry, the food is great and plenty. Delicious pancakes, biscuits, hash browns! Very good service, long wait but worth it. The interior is fun and memorable.

Of the places we tried during our short visit to Branson, this was my favorite. There are 3 Billy Gail's locations in town - this is the original location recommended to us by a local as the go-to place. Be prepared for a wait though as it's a popular spot. We arrived around 8am and waited about 45 minutes. The parking lot was already quite full when we got there. We ended up parking in the dirt lot adjacent to the restaurant, and even that was starting to fill up. Despite how busy it was, it was well worth the wait. The food was very good with generous portions that didn't disappoint. The classic eggs and bacon plate was tasty and well prepared. The corned beef hash was one of the better ones I've tried. For those with a big appetite or looking to share, they have a signature 14-inch pancake which caught everyone's attention as it was delivered to a neighboring table. If you're in the area and don't mind a bit of a wait, I'd highly recommend this spot for breakfast. Come hungry and enjoy the lively, eclectic atmosphere.

Food was amazing. Service was amazing! The pancake is the size of a pizza! You won't be able to finish. The prorations will be good for a couple days!!!!! Best coffee of my life! You'd swear it's French press. Also billion is not really baxon. It's soft pork belly. Love it! Also love unpretentious appearance. Looks like a country restaurant. Can't fault them.

Listen!!! We waited 30 mins for this food because I heard it was so good. And when I tell you IT DOD NOT DISAPPOINT‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼ Yes I had to put that much emphasis on it because it was that good. Apparently this is a big tourist spot but it's very welcoming, like going to grandmas house. The service matched the food, top tier. Our waitress, the young lady that brought our food out, even the people sitting next to us were extremely nice. The seats are pretty close together but everyone around us was friendly. It was like dining with strangers. When I come back to this town, this will definitely be a stop!

We heard so many good things about this place we had to stop in on our way to Silver dollar city. We had a great waiter who explained everything we needed to know. Of course we had to get the famous pancake and it's literally the size of a large pizza but was so good. We did our best to make our way through it. I Also got Gail's breakfast which was three eggs hash browns bacon and toast and they were also very good. They have plenty of space inside and everything including the bathrooms were super clean. The wait was only about 20 minutes around 11 am. If you are this way you gotta stop in - one of the best meals we had in Branson.

I have to say these were some humongous and delicious pancakes. I felt like I couldn't come here and not get a pancake, so that's exactly what I did. It was so good and flavorful. I of course enjoyed the eggs and bacon that went along with it. I certainly recommend getting the pancake if you were coming to eat here. The service was fast and our food came out in a timely manner. I also liked the different decorations around the whole room it was very different.

Ask the Community - Billy Gail's

    Is their bacon spicy?

No, it has a maple glaze on it, so it's slightly sweet.

Does this place have gluten free options? If yes, what are some of them?

    Doubtful.

Is this still cash only or do they take cards now?

They take cards. Their card machine was down part of the day Monday but I'm sure they've resolved it by now.

    Do they take reservations?

No they do not. You arrive and put your name on a list. Seems to go pretty quickly.

    Are there vegan options?

My wife has celiac disease, and they had stuff for her, but not sure about vegan options.

I thought I read someplace that you close for part of the winter. Do you still and if so what is your close?

Hi Amy, our last day open is December 21st and we reopen on March 1st. Happy Holidays!

Are they open on Mondays or Tuesdays in November?

Yes 7-2 7 days a week. This Monday not sure since it is Veterans Day but you could call Sunday and ask them

Imagine our surprise when we were quoted 35-minute wait (down the road was 1.5 hours) and a family in front of us had left for their 4th breakfast spot! It turned into us being seated, ordered, and sipping drinks within that actual timeframe! Not sure if this Rare. Magical. Suspiciously efficient. What I did notice is this crew has service dialed in. It was like watching a well-rehearsed dance--servers working together, drinks magically staying full, plates appearing exactly when they should. Tables everywhere: outside, upstairs, downstairs, tucked into every possible nook it looks. If there is square footage, Steamy Joe's found a way to seat people on it. The menu covers breakfast, lunch, drinks, and pies that deserve their own fan club. We had a few special orders in our group (you know who you are), and they nailed every single one without hesitation. Yes, there was even a line just to put your name on the list --and honestly, worth it. Bonus points for the fabulous view out back, which makes the wait even easier to forgive. We will absolutely be back. Just maybe not at peak Sunday brunch time... because clearly everyone else already knows how good this place is.

I will say that the pork belly po' boy was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life! I almost stayed in town longer on the second day just to order it again. The pork belly was smoky, tender, and sweet and paired so well with the grain mustard, pickled onions and arugula -- superb balance of flavors.
