We waited 60 minutes to be seated outside, when no one had been sitting outside the entire time we were waiting. So why did we have to wait? Then it took 30 minutes for our order to be taken and another 70 minutes to get our food!! The food was ok, but most of it was cold, so obviously it has been sitting in the kitchen a long time. Our waiter brought many refills and was very courteous. But we will definitely not be eating here again especially when our bill was nearly $300 - for that kind of money the service and food should have been superb and it was definitely not. read more

This is my second time coming to this location, AMAZING! The first time i was here the food was jaw dropping (the hickory burger) & everyone i talked to was so kind to me and my boyfriend and went out of the way to make sure we were okay. The ambiance is very romantic so we came back a few months later for another date! It was around 1pm so we weren't sure how different it would be but it was even better than the first. Menu items I'm obsessed with: - Petite fillet steak - so tender and good for the price! - Garlic mashed potatoes (they have a loaded version with chives, bacon, and cheese, yum) - Side salad - the croissant that comes with it - is so so so good! I've ordered just a side of 4 croissants they are warm and have a slight honey glaze on them. We hadn't been in for a while, and decided to give it another try. We hoped that this restaurant had returned to the glory days of the mid 2000's. It hasn't. FYI: After past bad experiences the manager/s have reached out, offering discounts. We haven't taken them up, since we felt strongly we wouldn't be back. O7/21/23 we gave it another try. My wife got the special, I went with their hickory burger. My wife has had their fish and chips before. I've had bad luck with other dishes, so I changed things up a bit hoping for better luck. Both were BELOW AVERAGE once again. My wife's fish was hard as rocks and I'd have been better off going to Red Robin across the street. Meat was raw. Cheddar cheese just crumbled on top, unmelted. Nothing like a cold burger for $18. Oh, we both had salads to start. The plates were the same, the the portions were noticeably smaller. Inflation portion reduction while keeping the price the same (or more). Pinching pennies on a $10 house salad..?? Our server was fine. After countless opportunities, and constantly bad food for the money (my burger wad $18), I think we're officially out of second chances. Unfortunately the very reason that led me to boast about Charleston's is now the reason I must retract and update my opinion/review. My family and I (included my highly autistic child) were dining in Charleston's this past Saturday and midway through our meal, my son was certainly enjoying his food and his time, he started vocally stimming. He started making shouting noises and we were actively trying to "shoosh" him. He doesn't have words, he is nonverbal, he has sounds and gestures to express himself. Almost immediately after he started, a manager came up to us, without greeting us or introducing herself or asking if everything/everyone was ok, she said in a very reprimanding tone "we're gonna need to keep the volume down" and pointed and referred to my son as a "that" when I asked what she meant. I explained that my son has autism and she basically just brushed it off and walked away. After that, almost all of the servers, except our own were glaring at us and giving us dirty look and even shaking their heads. It was VERY uncomfortable, to this point where we couldn't even really enjoy our meal. We asked for boxes and left and even then, I had to be the one to go up to management and tell him how wrong that was, nobody bothered to come up to us and apologize after realizing my son is special needs and wasn't a misbehaved child throwing a tantrum in the restaurant. The next day, one of the partners did call to apologize and that was much appreciated, but he offered no compensation nor asked for the chance to make it right. I'm afraid the encounter has left a horrible taste in my mouth when it comes to Charleston's, which is a shame because their mushrooms and shrimp scampi are some of the few things my son enjoys to eat. (Those who know autistic people can be very picky about their food) But after the experience we had, I just don't think it's ever worth going back. read more

2nd time was as good as the first. I often say, if you go to a place and have near perfect service do not go again. Usually a restaurant cannot pull it off a second time. That is not the case at Charleston's. My first visit was on 9-11-22. We were seated in the bar and Megan was our server. What a wealth of information. Not only about other locations but menu as well. I watched her with other tables as well. Not everyone can be a server. It's a skill you have or you don't. You can teach someone the steps. It takes love, passion, knowledge and warmth to pull it off. Megan has it all. She even can tell you why she likes each dish she recommends. The second visit was on 9/14/22. It was a rough week at work. So a few of us went out for moral support. Being I am a chef, they always want me to make a recommendation. Remembering my Sunday dinner I knew where to take them. This time we were lucky to be seated with Brandon in the main dining room. Equally gifted server. I don't know if the restaurant just got lucky or they have an amazing trainer but both visits were amazing. Tonight we started with the spinach artichoke dip and the spicy shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was so good that two of the guess ordered the same thing but salad style. I have the prime rib sandwich. The prime rib was perfectly cooked. The fourth guest had the French dip. We sat for two hours. Brandon never lost his focus. Drinks were always refilled at just the right time. Second round on alcohol was also perfect timing. The restaurant itself is beautiful and clean. I needed to use the restroom close to the end of our meal. I stopped and asked Brandon where it was located. it would have been very easy for him to point and speak directions. Brandon on the other hand send follow me and I will be happy to show you where it's at. That is taking service to the next level. That is genuine care and comfort of your guests. If a server is amazing, the cooks can be off their game and people will still come back. If the service is bad, a chef can put out flawless food and people would never return. This restaurant has a beautiful combination of both. The plates were beautiful. The flavor was spot on. If you want food in a warm,relaxed, yet refined ambience, this is your place. Long overdue review! I made a reservation for 6 a day before and they were super nice over the phone and super accommodating. I was kind of freaking out because it was for my white coat ceremony dinner and a lot of places do not take reservations on Fridays or they were booked. This place seemed like the best option because there was a little something for every person such as pasta, steak, ribs, salad, etc. we all ordered the rib-eye with a loaded baked potato, rack of ribs and multiple appetizers which were all really good! I wasn't expecting much but the meat was cooked perfectly, the baked potato was so soft it just melted in your mouth and the ribs weren't dry! Every time I have been here I have ordered the salmon and it either comes out raw in the middle or this time burnt on top. I ordered grilled no sauce, with broccoli and iced tea no lemon. I received iced tea with lemon, and salmon burnt on top covered with sauce. The ambience is nice, dark, comfortable until you enter the bathroom. Only one stall out of three has a door and one has a shower curtain. The service is fine and they offered to redo my salmon but I had to catch a movie. Definitely not a pleasant experience for a $40.00 lunch. read more

We ordered margaritas on the rocks and they were served in a martini glass with enough for two servings each. Delicious fit the bill. My husband ordered French dip sandwich which was packed sky high of beautiful medium rare beef on a crunchy rolls and French fries, yummy. I had the lightly fried chicken salad with lots of pieces of bacon avocado and crunchy lettuce. The best part is it was served with a warm honey glazed croissant (which comes with all salads). The best soft slightly sweet snd just what I wanted. The staff all seem to work together to make courses move in and off the tables smoothly. I'm coming back in the next few days to try more. We celebrated my moms 77th birthday here. We visited Charleston because my late father loved going here and my mom has memories here. We had a party of 7 total and they seated us really fast. We love the croissants that they serve. They are truly amazing. My husband and I both got the Prime Rib. We were both extremely disappointed. The meat was tough and just not right at all. Everyone else said things for them were okay. We were so disappointed that we don't even think we would go back which is sad. I contacted the restaurant itself and let them know. I got a call from a manager but he sounded annoyed and not very concerned. I tried to call him back and he wasn't in several times. So I am writing my review now. In my humble opinion, Charleston's is among the best casual dining steakhouses in the valley. It reminds me of the old school Stuart Andersons Black Angus restaurants. Low key romantic. Their off menu specials are spectacular and worth every penny. The cuts of meat are typically so tender they can be cut with a butter knife... But they will still bring you a steak knife for good measure. Their salads come with a buttery croissant roll that I have formed a mild addiction to.... and I'm okay with that. Don't forget to save room for dessert because this place has carrot cake! Really, really good carrot cake! The service is always impeccable... Husband and I stopped here after going to nearby shooting range. We were greeted instantly by a wonderful host who even asked us how our day had been. Our server, Alexa, was so sweet.
