The food was good and we had a great waiter that we always requested that provided exceptional service. We found out James is no longer there, and the last year we only ate there due to his service as the food was really more hit or miss and he always made it right when the kitchen failed on quality control. This time one of their own Bus boys kept coming up to the table next to us being loud high-fiving people and getting the drunk people next to us even drunker. They were so loud, including the bus boy, my family could not even hold a conversation until he would leave the area. We were here for my birthday tonight, a small quaint dinner. Upon getting sat at our table there was a birthday card, signed from everyone in the restaurant which was a very nice touch and really makes you feel special. The food was really good, absolutely no complaints. It was simple but cooked absolutely perfect. The steaks were tender, and the chicken too! We got the artichoke spinach dip to start and that was awesome . I only order a martini on special occasions and they even had blue cheese stuffed olives, so bonus points there! for dessert we had the key lime pie (AMAZING) and i dont even like key lime pie. We also had the bread pudding, it was also very good but I prefer it warm. The croissants were the star of everything, we got a hole basket to go! Our server, James, was so so nice, welcoming and fun to talk to. We all really enjoyed him taking care of us. He honestly made the dinner a 10. We have always got good service and food there. Today, I made the mistake of complaining that the salad I had eaten half of, was not very good. The lettuce was old, and it seems like it was just the dredges at the bottom that I had been served. It was only a small side salad, but the waitress was appalled that I hadn't told her sooner. She repeated three times that she had passed me and I should have spoke up. But half the salad was left. I wasn't asking for anything, but I do usually like their side salads and this one was weak at best. So I finally said, "well, you didn't ask". It was just a salad after all they could have given me another one If they were trying to fix the problem. She left and suddenly a new waitress appeared to our surprise. I didn't think I had been rude.I thought she had been rude. But it was a big enough deal that she wasn't coming back. So she must have thought we were just trying to get rid of the five dollar charge because it was removed off the bill, but no manager or anyone else talked to us and I felt like she had blamed me for the problem. After a long travel day we thought a nice dinner would be the perfect start to our trip unfortunately that wasn't true. Our waitress was nice enough and we were seated right away. We ordered the special filet ($57) and my husband added the $10 shrimp to it. First up they brought out the shrimp and a baked potatoe to him with no shrimp. Then the steak and my food, my potatoe had hard black spots in it, a lot of them and was supposed to be a loaded potatoe but had no sour cream. Next the steaks a complete disappointment there was no crust on it and no seasoning at all. It was mushy and flavorless. The best part of the meal was the Crossiant that came with the salad. And the service was super nice, we enjoyed Hailey's good friendly smiley service, she was so nice to bring us another mashed potatoes dish after we told her we found a little hair in it. Then she was super nice to take the dish off our bill after we told her we found another small hair in the dish. Thank you Hailey! The mushroom was great! I love the cute little mushroom with burgundy flavor in it, just one bite you know you would like it more and more! Nice, clean and warm atmosphere. Service was good and servers were friendly. My husband ordered the fried chicken and liked it very much. Large strips of tender meat with a flaky breading. He said the slaw was a little "different" and didn't care for it. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs. I hate to be petty, but I ordered them because I saw a couple orders go by and they covering the entire plate as the pictures in their Yelp page show. I'm sure they were the usual 11 to 14 baby backs that come in a full rack. My order didn't come near that size, in fact it was 8 ribs. I'd just like to get what I paid for. They were tasty and fall off the bone tender but not mushy. The vegetable medley was fresh and very good. The place has at least 30 people waiting to get in on a 3:00 Sunday!! I figured I'd check. I got seated right away!! Turns out they have wonderful soft booths in the bar area!! Got right in!!! Ordered The catfish platter. Delicious!! The catfish was just perfect!! The coleslaw was mixed with cilantro. Never tasted that combination, but wow!! I'll make it that way in the near future. Started going to Charleston's about 25 years ago and Scottsdale and it's always consistently amazing. Haven't been in several years since the only one available is in Mesa Arizona, but we were attending a concert at the Mesa art center decided to give that location a try and it's like we stepped back in time. We used to go to the Charlestons in Chandler (it closed) Scottsdale (it closed), only one left is in Mesa. But I am sure they will lose many more loyal customers because James is not there now. We were a part of 4. There was only a wait of 15min. Service was fast and friendly. Main issue is the food. We ordered the artichoke dip as am appetizer. The chips were good but the dip lacked flavor and was salty. My boyfriend ordered a sangria. He said the flavpr was really bad, he had to return it. He ordered the perfect Margarita instead which was much better, but a little on the sweet side for me. For dinner I had the Caesar salad to start which was really good but could have done with less dressing. The main course was the bone in ribeye cooked to medium rare. It was chewy. We also asked for the blue cheese with red wine sauce on the side but unfortunately they served it on top of the ribeye. The sauce was not good at all! I had to scrape it off the top to eat the steak. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm and said it was decent, not much complaints but also nothing special. Such a good steak! My boyfriend and I came for our date night and it did not disappoint! Our server Chris was great! We ordered our steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I also traded out the baked potato for mashed potatoes and let me tell you that I am glad I did! The mashed potatoes were creamy, fluffy and everything you could possibly want from mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent. Our server Mira was kind and very attentive. We started with Dynamite Shrimp which is one of my favorites. We had a nice bottle of Malbec to go with our dinner.
