Tried LongHorn Steakhouse because Texas Roadhouse didn't open until 3, and honestly it ended up being such a good switch up! We got there right after the morning rush, so everything was super smooth. The bread was delicious, the margaritas were bomb, and the LongHorn extra drink is basically two margaritas plus a little extra in that shaker. The cups were cute, bathrooms were clean, and overall the whole place felt really well kept. WATER was good. Have to note that. Everything was so cute I wanted to put everything in my purse The ribeye was delicious, the roasted corn was SO good, and the mac and cheese was amazing too. Our waitress was a little goofy, but kind, which honestly matters more anyway. At first we were a little surprised the entrees only came with one side, but once the food came out you could tell the quality was better than a lot of similar spots, so it made sense. On Monday April 20th, 2026 myself, husband, sister, and brother-in-law had dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Mesa, AZ. When we left the ground looked wet, when we crossed the lot we all slipped and almost fell, twisting our bodies trying to stay afoot. We then smelled a stench that was unbearable! And noticed our shoes were covered in nasty... we scraped them off as best we could thinking we'd be okay, but no... Not only were our shoes still holding onto the sludge we had just stepped in, but the underside of a brand new vehicle was coated and the floor mat ruined!!! We spent hours cleaning shoes with bleach water fading our shoes, throwing away mats, going to the car wash, etc. We all felt sick!!! Having not gotten a response to the email I sent to the Mesa location I called and asked to talk to the manager, but the young gal who answered said to call the corporate office which I did and left a message, but so far no response. I also sent this info to two separate corporate email contacts, they were returned undeliverable. The gal did state that they were aware of the problem and that the cause of the problem was that a the septic tank had ruptured... I now feel sick again!!! LongHorn Steakhouse - Alma School & US‑60 I rarely leave reviews, but this visit absolutely deserved one and EVERY visit in the past. I had the seasonal lamb chops entrée, and just like every time I've ordered it, it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor -- I love it every single time. My husband ordered the NY Strip, and he always talks about how flavorful and tender it is. Tonight was no different -- they nailed it. A huge shout‑out to Mary H, our waitress. She was absolutely phenomenal -- attentive, kind, and on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. She truly made our experience even better. And to the kitchen staff: thank you for throwing down back there and producing such amazing food. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The manager also stopped by our table and was so personable and sweet. Honestly, the entire staff was wonderful from start to finish. This was my first time at this LongHorn location and I visited with close friends and niece. It was a very busy Saturday evening so we did have to wait around 10-15 but it was not too bad. We were promptly seated and our server Patrick came over to greet and take our drink order. Patrick's service throughout the evening was exceptional and we even made a note to tell the manager about this. I had a mishap and had to leave for around 25 minutes and he waited until I returned so that we would all have our food hot and at the same time. To start with, we got the bread service (yum!) and the Parmesan crusted spinach dip which I could've eaten 3 of!! For my entree, I ordered my favorite, the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with a Sweet Potato and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (in attempts to be semi healthy lol). Having never been to this steakhouse and it being Friday night, I phoned earlier in the day to make reservations. The pleasant young man on the phone explained that they do not take reservations, but have a waitlist and to either phone or use their website to add my group of 4 to the waitlist about 1/2 hour before we arrived. I did that via the website and we were seated right away when we arrived. Arhely D was our server and she provided friendly, quick service, and great recommendations. Overall we had a great time, good service, and good food. We all ordered Margaritas and I was pleasantly surprised when our server brought shakers with our glasses, poured our drinks and left the shakers with another glassful of drink left. The servers don't know what it means to be a server, they are unpleasant, mouthy, and don't listen to orders. I went today 4/30/26 and it was quite busy but not enough for poor service. I ordered parmesan crusted chicken, with brussel sprouts, and a sweet potato. Took the kitchen a LONG time, which I understand so since it's going to take forever for the food to come out, take your time and cook it without burning everything! I totally understand that - - It must be very hard to predict, after all, who would have predicted a busload of seniors showing up along with all the other people who kept coming. It's been a while since either me or my girlfriend has been here and she was really craving it so we decided to head out. I'll start with the condition of the restaurant since it didn't seem like they cared much. Dirty bathrooms, graffiti, and trash on the floor, it was obvious they hadn't checked the bathroom in a while. The service was kinda ok, like not bad but not good really either. The staff just seemed like they were wanting to be finished for the day. Like it was just Eh, didn't wow us at all. So now the food. I could have overlooked the other things if the food would have been good but that wasn't the case. The Wild West shrimp was pretty good but it was barely lukewarm. The chicken and ribs that I ordered were barely room temperature. The steak my girlfriend was the same, and so were all of the added sides. It was as though they forgot our order was ready and left it sitting for a while, which could also explain the somewhat slow service. I should have sent everything back but we were already there to long plus I don't always trust places when you send stuff back. We ended up getting to go boxes and went home and heated everything up to eat it. I give two stars just because the shrimp wasn't totally bad and the strawberry lemonade was tasty. We decided to use a Christmas gift card from my brother and grab lunch at LongHorn Steakhouse today. The staff was friendly and got our order together on time, which we appreciated. I ordered two New York strip steaks with sides. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to expectations. Both steaks were overly salted, heavy on the butter, and honestly tough to cut and chew -- not the tender, flavorful steaks we were hoping for. The sides were fine, but the main event fell short. I am a frequent guest at the store in Mesa AZ. It will be my last. As of 3/15/26, we were billed for our meals at the cost of $34.48. Service was terrible and I only added a tip of $5.00. That equals a total of $39.48. They billed my bank for $44.48, thus giving the lousy waiter an additional tip. I have the receipts and the bank charges. We typically love Longhorn Steak house. But this time (first time in Arizona). We sat at the bar and what a mistake that was! There were so many gnats flying around, gross! I even saw one come out of the beer tap as the lever was pulled to fill a glass. We complained about all the insects and here are the excuses we received: 1) it's always like this 2) ya, we have the place exterminated twice a month 3) Health department is aware, they know it's like this. We were comped free appetizers for our next visit. Will we use them? Most likely not. Valiant effort to try to rectify the bugs though. It is practically impossible presently to not find corporations operating restaurants that can essentially offer or deliver 1) amazing service - they emphasize it: I give it 4.0 , 2) an excellent attention to detail especially in hospitality - excellent table service: I give it 3.5, 3) cleanliness, hygiene and comfort in their décor, amenities and lavatories - carpets clean and didn't see smudges on glass: I give it 4.0, 4) an abundant and/or varied food and/or product menu: I give it 4.5, 5) consistently appetizing offerings: I give it 4.5, 6) a sincere customer service: I give it 4.5, 7) unique, innovative or specialized menus: I give it 4.0, 8) value and price of meals: I give it 3.5, and most of all, 9) the inert desire of one wanting to return, again and again for the experience gained: I give it 4.0. These are some if not most of what my basic requirements are when visiting one of these establishments each time. Then more specifically comes, of course, the food. On our last visit we devoured some really good Spicy Chicken Bites. A superbly prepared parmesan crusted Spinach Dip along with the perfectly prepared Three Dons Margarita. On various previous occasions we enjoyed their excellent White Cheddar stuffed mushrooms, terrific Steakhouse wings, fab Firehouse T-Bones and Flo's Filet is always utterly well made. This is just the tip of the iceberg of our tastings at Longhorn Steakhouse. My wife and I do not pretend to be professional reviewers but are most definitively connoisseurs of excellent foods whether a fine upscale cuisine, middle-of-the-road common eats, or a low-end fast-food joint. In this way, I have developed a to-the-point method for determining the personal worthiness of each establishment visited as noted in my opening. Simplified, each requisite noted for the establishment visited best scored by my highest score offered. Longhorn Steakhouse Mesa scores a 3.5 of a potential 5.0. To start, the service was not the best. Ordered a starter that never arrived (was not put in), the server blamed it on the cooks/chef and honestly did not seem to care. I ordered a Flo's medium rare 6 oz filet and I received a fully cooked, grey 6 oz filet that had absolutely no sear on it! The server agreed and I sent it back! Once the new steak arrived, the server left instantly, no chance to cut it and verify. The steak had a bit more of a sear on it, I pressed the center and knew it was raw, not rare, but raw. I cut into it, it is completely raw, room temp center!Ten or so minutes go by and the server comes back to see/agree the steak is raw. I do not understand how a steakhouse can mess up two different steaks so spectacularly. I will 100% eat rare to mid rare steaks and these two steaks threw me off completely. I have 4 years in fine dining front house experience and cooking has been a hobby of mine for 15 years. That being said, I would not have served either of the steaks I received to anyone (maybe to an inmate or to an animal as scraps!) I came here for my birthday dessert, a burger and the shrimp and lobster chowder. I ordered a curbside pick up and it was ready on time and the food was hot and delicious when I brought it home. This is my first experience with Longhorn and I must say I really enjoyed the burger, it was cooked well, good quality, and assembled well. The chowder for my side was also pleasantly tasty too. I would recommend this ad a good side dish although it could have used a better seafood to broth ratio. Finally, the cheesecake I got for dessert was a large portion, quality, and creamy. Ordered an 8oz sirloin and shrimp. The steak was by far the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. The piece of meat was chewy and was cooked on a flat top, not a grill. It was burned on one side and not cooked in the other. It was completely uneatable. I've worked in kitchens, so I don't send food back. Friendly hostess greeting us warmly. Explained where the restrooms are located and told us our server's name. The bartender was taking care of our area and though he had quite a few tables, he didn't miss a beat. The warm bread and butter were just so good! I could had eaten the whole loaf! Crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. We received our drinks promptly and our order was taken and delivered with haste. Best of all, the steaks were cooked to perfection, and tasty! The sweet potato was a bit gutted and shriveled, probably should had been skipped. The french fries were hot and seasoned. My son's lemonade was refilled numerous times before he could even ask. Bonus! One major negative was how disgustingly filthy the restrooms were!! They've only been open an hour for lunch, so, it looks like they skipped the previous night's cleaning. I had a gift card so I figure I give this place a try.. Went for lunch.. Was going to order wings or something but I ended up ordering porterhouse . Got the steak medium rare with loaded baked potato. Ordered chicken strips and caeser salad. Restaurant was very clean and well kept. The initial service was little slow. But once our waitress got going she was great and very attentive. The bread was nice and warm and tasted pretty good. Got the caeser salad and for some reason it was so darn yummy... I don't know what they do to their salad dressing but imo it was one of the best caeser salad I've had. My steak came out and it was pretty darn good.. It was cooked to my liking (medium rare). Steak was drizzled with melted butter and had nice seasoning.. The steak was not the best quality but for the price $29 and change, it was pretty darn good. My loaded baked potato was... Well loaded baked potato pretty good nothing special. Chicken strip was also pretty good.. Over all the service was great and food was pretty good. We made our order online and pick up at store. Everything went fine until I got home and unpack bag and realize we didn't get our salad I had ordered. Called store and a gentleman answered the phone. I asked to speak with a manager and he stated that nobody was there. I said someone was there running that store. I'd like to speak with that person. A (what sounded like a young lady) got on the phone and said hello. I asked who she was, and she said she doesn't like to give her name out. I asked if she was the manager. She said, no. I asked, to speak with the manager or someone running the store, she said no and hung up on me with an attitude. I called back and I was upset. The reason being is I spent over a hundred dollars for my meal and didn't get everything and she wouldn't even let me speak my problem. She asked me to stop being yelling, I told her no, you hung up on me. Of course, i'm going to be upset. Don't you know how to have customer service and fix a problem? she hung up, she would not talk to me at all. I tried 3 times and she hung up 3 times and would not listen to my problem. Now, I know why she felt uncomfortable giving out her name. She must have done this before to other people. This is who you have representing your store on your phone. Pretty sad right. I went to the store. At this point I have made two trips to your store, which is now 5.7 miles from my home to your store one way. Just for a salad. A $3.49 item. It cost me more than that in gas. That i didnt receive in the first place. I did talk to store manager and got my missing salad. But that's it. I didnt recoup any cost for added miles or problems that came from this. However, store manager did fire her on the spot. Only after talking to him and had to prove to him by calling her again in front of him and she denied the request to speak with manager and hung up again. Confirming my allegations..
