Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen continues to be a place we enjoy, and this week's visit was another great experience. First, I want to thank Trey for his outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Great service always makes a good dining experience even better. The manager also stopped by our table which always is always nice One of my favorite things about Cheddar's is that every meal starts with their complimentary Honey Butter Croissants. They are warm, flaky, buttery, and topped with a sweet honey glaze. They are absolutely delicious and such a nice touch. My husband ordered the Pain Killer (Pusser's Rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, orange juice, toasted coconut rim, and topped with nutmeg). It was refreshing, well-balanced, and one of the best tropical cocktails he's had in quite a while. For his entrée, he chose the Spasagna--a creative twist on lasagna with spaghetti layered with four cheeses, then baked and topped with homemade Alfredo and marinara sauces, served with garlic bread. He's Italian and can be pretty particular about Italian food, so the fact that he thoroughly enjoyed it says a lot. It was rich, cheesy, comforting, and full of flavor. My daughter and I both ordered the Monte Cristo, and it definitely did not disappoint. The sandwich was perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious combination of ham, turkey, and cheese inside. Paired with the raspberry preserves, it hit that perfect balance of sweet and savory. By the end of the meal, we were completely full and had no room left for dessert--which just gives us another reason to come back. I have gone to this location multiple times. Each time the service was great. All the servers were attentive and friendly and checked on me multiple times. Please keep up this great consistency of this wonderful service. The restaurant is huge and has plenty of space. TIP: they have lunch specials for cheaper price!! This time I came in for dinner. You get a free Honey Butter croissant for each person. Honestly this is my favorite thing from the restaurant! You can purchase more after for $1.50. The honey butter sauce is sooo addicting! I got the New Orleans pasta. It has a good kick to it! The sauce was flavorful, the shrimp taste fresh and tender and the sausage was tasty as well. Also got their chicken tenders. Some how their tendies taste better than other normal American restaurants. The tenders are crispy on the outside and hot and juicy on the inside. I haven't been to Cheddar's in forever, but we came here to celebrate my cousin's birthday and had a blast! Our waitress (I hate that I forgot her name) was AMAZING. She was friendly, funny, professional, and kept checking on us without being overbearing. She deserves a raise...and about 6 weeks of paid vacation while we're at it! My cousin is an actor, so it was cool seeing people recognize him from Chicago P.D. and a few other shows. For a minute I forgot he was just my cousin and started feeling like I was hanging out with a celebrity...then I remembered, "Wait...I actually am!" I ordered a cold lemonade (a lifesaver in this Arizona heat), the half rack of ribs with fries, a salad, and those famous croissants. Everything was ! I do wish my ribs had a little more BBQ sauce, but that's on me because I didn't ask. They were still delicious. We were excited to try their Monte Cristo sandwiches, which is a family favorite. We love the appetizer croissants, and we shared a Cesar salad to start and splurged on onion rings which were cooked perfectly. It was super crisp and cold. The Hubbs got the fish and chips - a very generous portion. The batter was nice and crisp but the fish itself was mushy. My Monte Cristo was very good. I like the raspberry jam that goes with it. Why haven't I tried Cheddar's sooner?! I started with the chips and queso, which were so good, and then ordered the New Orleans Pasta for my main meal. It comes with chicken, shrimp, and sausage and OMG -- it was amazing. I don't know what they do with their sauce, but I seriously want the recipe. It was that good. On top of the great food, the prices are super reasonable. And for $5, you can get a Tito's and cranberry -- anytime, any day. I don't know many restaurants offering deals like that anymore. This location is slipping in quality. The past two times, the food was cooled off. Today I ordered Chicken Tenders Plater,French frys and string beans. When it arrived the French fries were slightly warn, as was the chicken & string beans. I'm done not complaining as this order should have been served HOT. We met friends there for a lunch & visit. I didn't want to raise an issue but I'm so disappointed. The sever shouldn't have served a cold meal. I betting it was sitting on a shelf without a heating lamp and cooled down. Went in tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. I showed up a little bit later than the party (around 9), but they didn't close until 11, so didn't think it was a big deal. I showed up to the table with two other people and they didn't allow us to put a couple extra chairs,.. Understandable, so we sat at a different table. The server was very rude. We were only ordering drinks, which tasted like they had no alcohol in them. My boyfriend asked the server how much it would be for an extra shot, she said $4 and then proceeded to charge him $10... She then brought us our checks when we didn't even ask for them. There was a manager walking around and he went up to every other table to check in, except for us. I like this chain restaurant a lot, and can't understand why there aren't more in the valley. I can't speak for other locations, but this one is very pretty, with gorgeous brickwork, lots of plants, a built in aquarium, and a super cool overhead fan. This place does serve alcohol. The menu has a lot of different options of standard American food. There is also a nice cocktail menu. The real surprise are the prices, which are pretty darn good. We ordered: *Cajun Chicken Bowl *Homemade Chicken Pot Pie with Caesar salad *Philly Cheesesteak with fries *Grilled Whitefish with Broccoli Cheese Casserole and Coleslaw We all liked our meals, although hubby said that even though his Cajun Chicken Bowl was good, it want very "Cajun." Came here for lunch after shopping in the area. We were greeted as soon as we entered red and were shown to a table. The restaurant was nice and clean and our waitress was friendly. The service was pretty quick and I think the prices were very reasonable. I got the Caesar pasta salad which I thought was a unique twist on a regular Caesar salad. The menu was pretty big with a wide variety of options. I would describe this place as being like a Chili's or TGIF but with a bit of a southern twist. Was at the Cheddar's on 8172 W. Bell Road on 7/31/26. Asked the hostess (scraggly hair with flowers in it) if we could sit at a booth in the bar. She said that she could only seat up in a high top table at the bar as there was no bartender, currently in the shift change mode. We asked what was the difference between a high top and a booth. She got snarky with us and said if we didn't want the high top to go somewhere else. We talked to the manager (skinny guy) who had no management skills and he said he would look into it. Wow! I've been going to outback with my father every Sunday for I don't know how many years. We stopped going just because of the price gouging. Drove down from Sedona because we've been wanting to try it. Yelp shows dog friendly on patio and that's not correct just service animals on patio, but the male manager was very nice to allow us to eat out there. We have a 3 pound Yorkie, which we held. We sat at the bar and had a great view of the water tank, it was very clean and had beautiful, lively, fish. For lunch we ordered the country fried chicken and half rack ribs with chicken tenders. The country fried chicken is served with your choice of white or brown gravy and both dishes are served with your choice of two sides. They were both really good, great flavors and the ribs were fall off the bone tender. However, the chicken tenders were cold and the chicken was very dry, they kinda seemed like an afterthought. SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen 2530 W Chandler Blvd 85224 Companion and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch. It was filled with people but we were seated immediately. We decided in advance to each order a different dish and cut it in half so we could each try it. I ordered the Meatloaf, and companion ordered Country Fried Steak. The steak came with green beans and an elected salad. My Meatloaf came with coleslaw and and elected salad. In reasonable time the dished came and we each cut them in half. The Meatloaf portion was two slices with a tiny amount of gravy on it with chopped coleslaw and a bowl of salad. Companions steak came with a very small portion of gravy on it along with canned green beans and the elected salad. We both agreed that without a decent amount of gravy both dishes were without merit. We had our wait person bring us dishes of gravy which we poured over the main courses and which were an immediate improvement. The Meatloaf was blackened in some areas and quite dry, while the steak was battered in a thick batter that disguised the small amount of meat in the plate. We ordered the Fried Apple Pie for dessert. Companion stated that it reminded them of the fried pie at Macdonalds. The Ice Cream with it was adequate. Bathrooms were clean, and no stains showed up under black light inspection. If this is truly scratch cooking my suggestion would be to go to cooking school to learn a lot more about scratch cooking. You are expected to pay your bill on an electronic device on your table connected to the internet. I didn't trust it and asked for my credit card to be run on a regular machine. All the food came out sup fast. Each thing came out before we were done with the last. The service was okay. She checked on us a couple of times. We did have to wait on water refills & drink refills. I didn't love the sangria. There was a different taste to it, but we couldn't place it. The cheese curds were good, but greasy. The ranch was really good. The side salads were huge & good. We had ranch dressing. Hubby liked his chicken strips, but said he would get them plain next time. He likes spicy. He said the honey hot was really spicy which is not normal for him. Most hot isn't hot for him. I didn't like my chicken fried steak. The cube steak was really thick. The breading fell off when I cut into it. The breading tasted greasy. The Texas toast was good. My wife, daughter, son-in-law, three grandchildren, and I recently visited Cheddar's for my uncle's birthday. Unfortunately, what should have been a fun family celebration turned into a very disappointing experience. After placing our orders, it took about 20 minutes just to receive drinks. Throughout the meal, our waitress seemed to struggle with remembering our table. We frequently had to wait for refills and, at times, remind her that we needed drinks. After waiting nearly an hour with no food, I asked her about our order and was surprised when she told us it had only been sent to the kitchen about 10 minutes earlier. We then waited another 45 minutes before our food finally arrived. The most frustrating part was that the restaurant was not busy. Having a 1-year-old, 2-year-old, and 10-year-old with us made the long wait even more difficult. The kids were hungry, restless, and not used to sitting in a restaurant for nearly two hours waiting for food. Because of the excessive wait, we ended up consuming refill after refill of beverages just to try to compensate for our hunger. Needless to say, by the time our food finally arrived, much of my hunger and eagerness to eat had completely disappeared. Unfortunately, the food did not justify the wait. My wife's medium sirloin arrived extremely overcooked and was nowhere close to medium. The steak was so tough that she struggled to cut through it. When I tasted a piece, I immediately noticed an unpleasant flavor that reminded me of old beef liver. The meat had a rancid taste and a dry, rubbery texture that resembled chewing on shoe leather rather than eating a sirloin steak. It was honestly one of the worst steaks either of us has ever been served in a restaurant and certainly not what we expected after waiting nearly two hours. The loaded baked potatoes were also disappointing. They came with very little sour cream and cheese and no butter, salt, or pepper. My daughter said her shrimp platter was decent, and my chicken fried chicken was actually pretty good. However, the chicken strips ordered by my son-in-law and grandchildren were dry, and the fries were cold. The final disappointment came when my son-in-law found a hair in his baked potato. For a first visit, this experience could not have gone much worse. Between the nearly two-hour wait for food, the lack of attention to our table, poor food quality, an overcooked steak that tasted rancid, cold fries, dry chicken strips, and finding hair in a meal, my family agreed this will be our first and last visit to Cheddar's. We had a very good dinner experience at Cheddar's. This is a generous 4 star rating. It is more like a 3.5-3.75 in my opinion. We were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was not super full as we arrived for a pretty late dinner on a Friday night. When you are seated they serve you delicious butter honey croissants that are heavenly. This is a must try. The menu has many options to choose from so everyone will find something they will like. We ordered the grilled shrimp Alfredo and Key West chicken and shrimp. It is served on rice and you get to choose two sides. I picked baby carrots and corn. I also asked if they can make the Maui margarita without alcohol and the answer was yes!! The grilled shrimp Alfredo pasta was delicious. Perfectly cooked pasta in a delicious white sauce. The chicken and shrimp dish was pretty good but was overly sweet for my liking, it almost felt like I was having a dessert. Dish is served with a pineapple salsa. The carrots were not my favorite. They looked old and didn't taste that good. Corn was a pretty good side. If they go easy on the sweet sauce and the pineapples in the pineapple salsa, the dish will taste better. The virgin Maui margarita was absolutely delicious! If I go back, it'll be to specifically to have it again. The receipt and text I received stated my order would be completed by 8:21pm, 40 MINUTES LATER, and I still have not receive my food. I confront the hostess again about the delay on my order after she states it'll be "right out" and she admits she "misheard" the name of the order. So although the car description matched, AND I checked in on the spot# I was in, she had me wait 40 minutes because she misheard the name?? It is unacceptable. After she gets my order, she hands it to me with ZERO apology while also texting on the job (review the tapes for 9:01pm time frame) ! I understand it is Mother's Day ... but Mother's Day lands on the same weekend every year and it is also 2026. There is no reason the receipt and text I received should be so off from the actual wait time of the restaurant and customer service to be so poor. First of all, apologies for the dearth of photos. I passed the camera around so that others could take photos of their food but those photos, for some reason, didn't come out. During our trip to AZ, I suggested that we all try Cheddar's for dinner one day. It's another Darden restaurant and Cheddar's says all their meals are made from scratch. I had their 1/2 rack of ribs. The BBQ sauce was tasty but the ribs were fatty. My husband and son-in-law both had steaks and liked them. I forget what each grandson had to eat but they all liked the food a lot. When we were getting ready to go home, I asked them which restaurant they tried during our trip was their favorite---they and their Dad all said "Cheddar's". Each table is given warm croissants. They aren't your typical croissants as they aren't flaky but they still are tasty. The kids attacked them like a pack of wild animals. Fortunately, the servers will bring seconds. So...basically, no one had any complaints about their meals. If I recall correctly, one grandson had a pasta dish while another had a chicken dish. As for ambience, it's got that family restaurant vibe to it --- lots of large booths for families. The staff was friendly and efficient. It's been at least five years since we've been to Cheddar's... maybe closer to ten, though honestly, I'm not even sure it's been open that long. Let's just say - it's been a while. Our first experience all those years ago wasn't anything to write home about, but our 9-year-old recently went with his grandma and hasn't stopped talking about the honey butter croissants. So tonight, after football games, we decided to celebrate the end of the season and give it another shot. And let me tell you - it did not disappoint. We started with the honey butter croissants (of course) and immediately ordered another round to take home for breakfast tomorrow. Our server, Anika, was absolutely fantastic and talked us into several great options. I had the Painkiller cocktail to ease the sting of our football loss and... wow!!! It deserves a spot on the MonkeyPod menu in Hawaii--it's that good!! I ordered the Pecan Salad with balsamic vinaigrette, my husband had the ribs, and the kids shared the chicken tenders. All excellent choices. For dessert, Anika steered us toward the chocolate cake over the monster cookie, and she was so right. Worth every single bite (and the blood sugar spike that came with it). We'll definitely be back - and we'll be asking for Anika. She made our kids feel special and treated us like we were the most important table in the restaurant. Such a great experience all around. Five stars based on tonight's experience at Cheddar's and a HUGE shout out to our server, Dillon. He was absolutely amazing. He was attentive, he was friendly, he was efficient. The kitchen was on its game tonight as well as all of our orders were prepared perfectly and came out hot! Service here is mediocre. After watching the hostess come over to the bar area and just stick her hands into the fruit, wipe her hands only to turn around to do it again was crazy to see. Cleanliness of this restaurant was something that blew me. Never seen a cheddars restaurant of this untidiness. Utensils had food residue on them so I requested plastic. What a disappointment. We have been coming here for years for family dinners and just a great place to get a good inexpensive meal. My 22 year old wanted to celebrate his birthday her with 12 of his family members. We added ourselves to the wait-list and had no problem getting seated. Kiki was out waitress. She was great! She had a great personality and took care of all of us. My son, who's birthday it was, ordered a drink that took 30 minutes to get to him. Kiki kept checking on it and said they ran out of vodka? Then he ordered a steak and chicken tenders with fries. The steak smelled and tasted like propane or gas. It was not eatible. We sent the steak back but everything on his plate that has steak juice on it tasted like gasoline. By the time they sent the steak back to him everyone else was done. And it still smelled like gas. Kiki was very apologetic and was all over the place trying to make things right. The manager, Jason, finally wandered over to our table and had zero personality. He didn't apologize for anything. He didn't even say anything. He just stood there. I told him what happened to my son's entire experience tonight and he didn't even respond. It was like he was overwhelmed with what we said and just walked away. It was so awkward. I think part of a restaurant manager job is just to be friendly and interested in what the people are saying about their experience. We weren't freaking out on him. It was just so weird. He did comp my son's meal and that was super nice but just maybe a friendly smile would have been suffice. We did tell him what an amazing job Kiki did making up for what the night turned in to. The place really needs some love. The wall was falling apart behind us and obviously the grill wasn't working. It's too bad that there is just a little work that needs to be put into the place and a little customer service training for the management and then they will be back in business. read more

I ordered Country Fried Chicken and it comes with two sides. Based on the picture i though it came with mashed potatoes. So i ordered a side salad and what i thought would be extra mashed potatoes the waitress didnt correct me. After the waitress had delivered the food and left i realized this could not be two sides of mashed potatoes. I finally had to flag another waiter since she was no where to be scene. She came over and told me the plate just comes with the chicken, toast and gravy. I thanked her, but.. it just ruined the whole experience. As i drove home i realized i could have gotten a better meal at Firebirds. Live and learn. read more
