It was our first time here and we decided to give happy hour a try. I was really impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant right when you walk in and throughout, it's gorgeous. My husband reviewed the menus prior but I didn't. I was shocked by the price of the food and especially the kids meals $18-20ish, and $48ish for enchiladas. That being said, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance helped me feel more comfortable with the cost. I would say I thought it was going to be a more casual experience (because of the plaza) but it does have a more upscale vibe. Our server was fantastic and really made sure to help make our experience just right. We will definitely be back but I think I'll save this place for special occasions, thank you!

This building and the ambience are remarkable. The decor is high-end fashioned, but also interesting with the natural elements such as barking wood. They had live music playing jazz with a saxophone that was really quite soothing and provided an upscale vibe. The staff here were very attentive, but I will say the food was really disappointing. Salmon was flavorless. The prices are overrated. The guacamole was fine. The salad was a bit lacking. The queso was small portions and very stringy. The one saving grace of this meal was the chocolate churros. They were phenomenal. I would come back here for a drink and churros but that's it. The food was overpriced and bland really disappointing given the beautiful setting.

Went to Or1gen on Valentine's Day and it was such a cute and romantic spot for dinner. The vibes were moody and intimate, which made it feel perfect for a date night. The service was also great. the staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I ordered the Mary's chicken with truffle fries and both were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the truffle fries were crispy and full of flavor. definitely a great combo. Overall it felt like a really special spot for a romantic dinner, and I'd definitely come back for another date night!!

Found this place through an instagram story and was excited to try it. We were seated during happy hour with no reservation. They easily accommodated our group of five. The food is excellent and flavorful. The portion sizes are very generous and they even offered to fire the steak at two temperatures to split. We ordered the ribeye during happy hour. There was a nice crust on the steak and was well seasoned. The kids meals have extremely generous portions but are 18-20 dollars per kids meals. The service was excellent. Would definitely be worthwhile to check out at happy hour (Sunday through Thursday 3-5)

Def my go-to East Valley "dinner out" spot. Reviewing a neat concept the restaurant has going!!! Tequila Passport!! Enjoy once a month curated pairing that includes a hand-selected tequila tasting, an entree, appetizer, and dessert (Sunday through Thursday). Also enjoy a cocktail of the month with the meal for only $1; 10% off wine bottles; exclusive invitations and discounts for all signature Origen events; tequila tasting classes with limited spots only for passport members. All for $80 per month. And you'll get the always wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable Origen service, with your choice of delightful patio or cool indoor vibe seating. The menu selections available with the monthly passport include the Mary's Chicken, St Louis Pork Ribs, Ribeye Steak, Pork Shank Cochinita Pibil, Tomahawk Steak, Barbacoa Regia, and many others. A veritable walk through of their most popular food over the passport 12-month period. Live music on the weekends. A great place to meet, celebrate and enjoy good friends, food, wine, cocktails, and tequila!!!

Second visit to Origen, this time flying in specifically for Origen and a bar before heading back out the next morning. Still a good experience, and the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. Food was decent, and the service was on point. My only critique this time is it did not taste like it did last time at all. Still good, but consistency is important! The octopus this time was very close to overcooked, but just still flew under the radar, and the short rib was great. Carpaccio was good itself but the bread was incredibly over roasted to the point of being a giant crumbling crouton. One complaint was the Churro Carajillo, it was vastly different, appeared to be missing all of the alcohol and taste like a latte. I did bring this up and they assured it was correct and offered a small shot on the side to add to it. This was a good gestures, but the recipe absolutely changed since my last visit, and they should REALLY consider going back to the old one. That being said it was good with the additional shot, but still not the same.

The ambiance and the decor here is spectacular. It's beautiful inside and great for special occasions. We had a party of 12 for a milestone birthday. We were able to get a private area with a sliding door and personal bathroom. It was awesome. The service was fantastic and our server was attentive and made sure to check on our group. The food was great. I highly recommend the guacamole with pork belly for the appetizer. I also thought my enchilada entree was delicious. I would definitely come back to try other dishes!

Came for Happy Hour. Had the Steak deal. Absolutely the best deal for a quality steak in the valley. The Rib Eye was spot on. The onions, mash potatoes and jalepeno were great. Also, best atmosphere, music and decor. The service was great. Well done.

I have heard some mixed reviews on this place. We had a fantastic time. Came in for date night on a Friday and scored seats at the bar. Sara was our bartender/server. She was vey knowledgeable about the menu. She was fun and we loved sitting there watching her make many different cocktails. I had a the biggest baked potato I have ever seen covered with steak bites. I literally ate that night, my husband and I mixed with eggs the next morning and still made a few burritos out of the leftovers. Yum! My husband had the filet tacos and bone marrow. He liked it but when given the habanero hot sauce, he was in love! The bone marrow is always a hit with him and got a mescal luge after was the kicker. We will be back.

Where do I begin? The decor, food, the service, the added blankets for those sitting outside (a plus)...all were amazing! Impromptu dinner outing and of course, we made reservations because they are busy!! we got lucky finding a spot for us. Our waiter was amazing, so friendly and accommodating! We ordered a variety of apps: The guacamole The ceviche (table fav) the mushrooms (not a fan on its own but paired well with the steak entree) Smoky mac and cheese (OMG AMAZING) Main course: The planco pasta - excellent The white fish - tasty! Ribeye 12oz..excellent (got cold quickly as we sat outside) We wanted to try the chicken but they were sold out :(. cocktails: Mexi-hatten, Mezcal OF, Hibiscus Mex-calita. all were excellent We had the flan for dessert and it was amazing! (comped as we kept ordering things that were sold out lol just our luck) Will definitely be back, especially since its so close to us. Vegetarian items were limited (obviously) but they do have avocado tacos and of course the apps!

Other than the ambience, I was not impressed....at all. The service was horrendous!!! I mean we waited about 10 minutes for our drinks and 20 minutes for our check. It was awful. The food was not great and extremely overpriced. I would much rather go to a high scale establishment like Steak 44 for comparable prices. Mediocre at best. I would go back for HH and the bar based on the ambiance but there are far better restaurants out there with far better service. Don't let the aesthetics of this place fool you for good food and good service.

Went to Origen for the first time to celebrate a family birthday. The place was very unique as far as the build out and atmosphere, but the food was lackluster, especially for the prices they command there. I ordered the salmon which was probably a bad choice for steak restaurant, but it was no different than the salmon dinner I would've received at Cheddars. In fact, they said it would be crispy and seared, and mine came out mushy as if it had been poached. For a high end restaurant, I also found the staff to be rather juvenile and unprofessional and the delivery was long on time. Many steaks ordered at my table were not that great either. A cool interior doesn't make you high-end if you don't have the great food and service to accompany it. We will not be returning; this is not a proven high-end restaurant by any means, but yet they charge as if they are.

Booked a reservation for 4 pm on Sunday for 8 people. From the moment you walk in you are intrigued by the design and wood work they do. Very very cool ambiance and way to add a unique elevated vibe! When we got sat we were pleasantly surprised by it being happy hour and ever more excited when we saw they had $29 filet on the happy hour menu. Definitely the best happy hour menu we have ever had. Kelly our server was great. She was efficient and all of our food came out great. Most of us got the filet cause how could you not. The steaks were grilled to perfection with a nice char and perfectly medium rare on the inside. We also got the guacamole and elote as appetizers, both weren't my favorite but still good and fresh! For dessert we tried all three options which I would personally pass on three next time. All around wonderful place to eat and would be a perfect date night. We definitely will be back to try some more stuff on the menu!!

We decided upon Bourbon and Bones for the big celebration night. My mother-in-law was able to make a reservation easily over the phone. We have young kids so we were trying to get in as early as possible. The host said they could accommodate us earlier than five, most likely so we set our reservation for 5 PM. We showed up about 4:20 on a Friday and they only had high tops available and said they wouldn't have anything else available until five. The manager-Shadi came over and introduced himself. He was super nice and helpful. He said there was one booth available and if we gave them a few minutes, they could get it ready for us. We already felt very warm, welcomed, and at home! They had a beautiful booth, waiting for us within minutes. We were greeted instantly by our incredible server, AmberLee. My husband and father-in-law ordered Elmer T Lee over an ice ball, actually a few of them. We had sparkling water for the table that was absolutely delicious and thirst quenching on a hot day. The kids ordered water and milk and they came in adorable sippy cups. They brought over complimentary bread and garlic butter, which was delicious. The bread was both pretzel and a regular loaf. We were able to place our orders right away. They have a great happy hour menu Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 PM. We were within that window so I ordered the steak frites for myself and to share with my daughter, my son ordered the burger and fries off of the happy hour menu since there was no kids menu. They can make buttered noodles, grilled cheese, basically anything modified for the kids. Everyone else on the table ordered a fillet with different sides. We all shared the Caesar salad, which was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend that. Everything came out at once, there was a little bit of a weight, but it was well worth it. The steak was delicious, I also highly recommend getting the bone marrow butter as my husband did. So delicious. The burger off the happy hour menu was great as well as the steak frites. Shadi came over to check on us and asked how our experience was, he learned it was my husband's birthday and when we were finished with our meal, a tray of desserts came over. Crème brûlée, chocolate cake, and their famous bourbon buttered cake with ice cream. All three of them were absolutely delicious, but I really loved their bourbon cake. I highly recommend that as a dessert. Ethan also came over several times to explain things about the restaurant, check in on us, and make conversation with us. He was absolutely wonderful. Everyone who worked there was so attentive and lovely. The environment was lively and fun. The place was clean as a whistle and smelled amazing. I couldn't have a single bad thing to say about this experience. It had been a while since we had been out to dinner and this was the perfect experience, through and through. I already can't wait for the next celebration we have in our family so we can go back and celebrate there. Shout out to Shadi, AmberLee, and Ethan for making this experience so incredible.

Use to visit the Chandler location weekly 12-14 years ago.. even told our kiddos that tonight when we brought them here. Problems started as soon as we got our food. All the food came out besides our son's children's steak, was told they had to cook another one. As we were waiting for his steak, my husband noticed his steak wasn't a ribeye like he ordered. He suspected it was a NY Strip Steak. About 7 minutes goes by and manger brings our sons steak. My husband asked the manager if his steak looked like a NY strip to him and manager replied "yes, I think we have the best NY Strip" and my husband nicely replied, I didn't order a Strip, I ordered a Ribeye and told the manager it was fine, he would eat it still and still tasted good but didn't want to be changed for a Ribeye since he got the strip wrong. ($12 difference) I got the firebirds bacon chicken pasta with steak instead of chicken and no tomatoes and green onions. Well.. there was def tomatoes and onions and no bacon. And I was changed $30 for pasta and steak.. that wasn't even made the way I asked. Well my son's (late) steak was suppose to be medium and it was rare. By the time the server came back my son was eating some of my husbands steak and my pasta so we just asked the server to take his meal off the check because it was late and cooked wrong. She said it was absolutely cooked wrong and insisted to bring him a new steak as well as take it off the check. She even asked him to put his steak on a plate and "she'd throw it away and they'll make him a new children steak." Well manager comes back and tell my husband that his steak was in fact a ribeye (it was def not a ribeye.. no marbling whatsoever) and dropped off our sons steak.... It literally was the pieces we had cut up that they just threw back on the grill. Even pieces our son chewed and spit out when it was rare and too chewy for him. Like GROSS!!! They did take the children's steak off the check and gave us a free dessert( which we didn't even want, we would have rather paid the correct amount for my husbands steak...) The waitress was fine, none of this was her fault because she read us back what we ordered and had it all correct.. but she fell short as to getting us refills (never even offered a 2nd round of wine or beer) and when it was time for the check we gave 2 gift cards $50 each and our card to pay. She brought back our copy to sign and she only took off 1 $50 gift card. We had to call her over and she realized she didn't use both giftcards and had to void our card and redo it. The managers were busy the whole night talking to upset tables. This location really needs to get their stuff together. Again, nice to offer dessert but truly all we wanted was to get what we paid for and how we asked for it and tonight wasn't it. Literally felt like we were scammed outta $160. we will be taking our $$ elsewhere.

We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.
