The octopus was tender and enjoyable, although it had a bit more oil than I personally prefer. This place was great and the staff was even better. Me and my wife were celebrating our two year anniversary and we couldn't get a babysitter so we had to pack up the baby with us lol. We were able to get reservations on OpenTable same day which was on a Tuesday so that's expected when I came in. I was greeted by a friendly hostess, who sat us very quickly. The ambience inside is super modern and a good vibe in general. Our server, Yuri was absolutely amazing. She was super patient and helpful/accommodating with having a baby at a restaurant. They DO have high chairs! She also gave a really good recommendation of the ceviche which me and my wife found phenomenal! It was a different style of ceviche than I typically get and the variety of seafood as well as the sauce that it was marinated with was delicious. One thing, though that I would say that for personal preference at least would be that I wish they had some spice on it that would've sent it to the moon. I also got the steak the filet mignon specifically and I would've done the mashed potatoes because they sounded like they were really good, but I ended up getting potato wedges because my wife wanted some lolll The filet mignon was really good. I would say just one critique would be that it wasn't Cook the same throughout so like the right side was medium and then the side that luckily I cut into at first was medium rare so that was one downside but overall it was really good tasting steak. We also got a side of sautéed veggies, which were delicious. And then, lastly, when we were leaving or about to get the check, Yuri told us that because we are celebrating our anniversary that they wanted to surprise us with a flan! That flan was pretty good, I wouldn't say it's to die for . but I also come from a Hispanic family so I'm kinda picky. Next time I go back, I will definitely try a lot more on the menu and I have to go when I have a complete cheat meal so I can eat a lot of food! We didn't end up drinking today because middle of the week but next time I go back I have 100% will get some of their cocktails too as they look absolutely delicious! The Truly Bougie Dining club headed to Origen and it did not disappoint. I had been there last year so I was a bit reluctant, however, and I am so happy to say they have hit it out of the park. I am so happy we chose your beautiful restaurant. For starters we were seated as soon as we checked in for our 6:30 reservation. We sat in a cozy area near the front. The ambiance was very pleasant. The table was set with beautiful plates and also big big Reidel wine goblets. Our server was amazing. Jamie made sure she gave us plenty of time to get settled and returned a few times to get everyone's drink selections and we didn't feel rushed. I ordered the Hibiscus Mezcalita, my friend ordered the December 2nd. Both were amazing craft cocktails. They were so good she ordered a second one and I ordered a Cucumber Spicy Mezcalita. Again very good. The rest of our group had beers, a few Old Fashions and an Aperol Spritz. All very good. (After dinner we were able to meet the mixologist behind the bar. He was so passionate about his craft and detailed his efforts and length it takes to make each of their signature drinks. It's very obvious he loves what he does and I should add he is the only one who creates these wonderful flavors, mostly for consistency for the rest of the bar staff. Super impressive.) Now to the even better stuff. Food was amazing. I ordered the Sonoran tacos. They were very tasty. The meat was tender. I used both sauces and the cream which is delivered to the table prior to dinner. My friend ordered tacos de Filet with the bone marrow. She was so happy with her selection. The manager Carlos actually had made his way to our table and when our food arrived he offered a hand. My friend wasn't sure about what to do with the bone marrow. Carlos stepped in and using a small spoon, spooned the bone marrow over the tacos for an added flavor. She was impressed as was the rest of our group. My other girlfriend ordered the Angus skirt steak. Unfortunately she thought her steak was a little chewy. Finally the men in our group opted for the 12oz ribeye, and the Cowboy bone-in Ribeye. Again they said the meat had great flavor, seasoned great, a great cut of meat, and zero left on their plate. They even substituted French fries for my husband which was a nice touch. Throughout the night Jamie checked on us, Carlos the manager checked on us, and we also had another gentleman come and ask us if our dinner was going good. I absolutely appreciated it. We were all so happy which made our dinner much more enjoyable knowing we were being treated with much so much care. We ended the night with dessert. We ordered a flan, a cheesecake made out of canela crackers, and a cake of some sort. All were delicious and were shared with the table. Walking into the restaurant, the aesthetic and vibe were great and would definitely come back to try their other entrees. For this occasion we ordered: Bone in ribeye: 4/5- the 20oz steak was perfectly cooked with a charred flavor, but I personally think it's missing butter and some rosemary. As for the mashed potatoes, it was finely grated and mashed and was just divine to eat Salmon carpaccio 3/5- the ponzu flavor was light and not too overwhelming and thought it was great sauce. However, the deduction comes in the way the salmon was cut. For sure if the Salmon were thinly slice vs chucks, I would've gave this dish a higher score. Cutting it in chucks had this mushy texture Ceviche 5/5- this ceviche was delicious. We were seated, and our amazing server, Alex, introduced himself and took our drink order. We ordered a few appetizers, the elote and the queso fundido. Once the appetizers arrived, Alex served us ladies our first taste of the queso - DELICIOUS!! For our entree, my hubby and I shared the ribeye with mashed potatoes from the HH menu. Been here a few times recently. One for my birthday and one for happy hour. Both times the service has been awesome. The decor and ambiance is always top notch. I love feeling like I can dress up for a Gilbert restaurant. Having gone for dinner and happy hour, both did not disappoint. Got the flank steak and pork belly tacos at dinner. Loved both and steak cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were even amazing! The crevice was incredible. The broth everything is in, is different but on point with the fish. It was our first time here and we decided to give happy hour a try. I was really impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant right when you walk in and throughout, it's gorgeous. My husband reviewed the menus prior but I didn't. I was shocked by the price of the food and especially the kids meals $18-20ish, and $48ish for enchiladas. That being said, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance helped me feel more comfortable with the cost. I would say I thought it was going to be a more casual experience (because of the plaza) but it does have a more upscale vibe. Found this place through an instagram story and was excited to try it. We were seated during happy hour with no reservation. They easily accommodated our group of five. The food is excellent and flavorful. The portion sizes are very generous and they even offered to fire the steak at two temperatures to split. We ordered the ribeye during happy hour. This building and the ambience are remarkable. The decor is high-end fashioned, but also interesting with the natural elements such as barking wood. They had live music playing jazz with a saxophone that was really quite soothing and provided an upscale vibe. The staff here were very attentive, but I will say the food was really disappointing. Salmon was flavorless. The prices are overrated. The guacamole was fine. The salad was a bit lacking. The queso was small portions and very stringy. Second visit to Origen, this time flying in specifically for Origen and a bar before heading back out the next morning. Still a good experience, and the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous. Food was decent, and the service was on point. My only critique this time is it did not taste like it did last time at all. Still good, but consistency is important! The octopus this time was very close to overcooked, but just still flew under the radar, and the short rib was great. Carpaccio was good itself but the bread was incredibly over roasted to the point of being a giant crumbling crouton. One complaint was the Churro Carajillo, it was vastly different, appeared to be missing all of the alcohol and taste like a latte. I did bring this up and they assured it was correct and offered a small shot on the side to add to it. This was a good gestures, but the recipe absolutely changed since my last visit, and they should REALLY consider going back to the old one. I have heard some mixed reviews on this place. We had a fantastic time. Came in for date night on a Friday and scored seats at the bar. Sara was our bartender/server. She was vey knowledgeable about the menu. She was fun and we loved sitting there watching her make many different cocktails. I had a the biggest baked potato I have ever seen covered with steak bites. We went to Origen for our anniversary dinner, and while the space itself is beautiful -- especially the wood‑accented lobby -- the overall experience didn't quite match the ambiance. The tables and chairs were very comfortable, but the music was so loud that it was hard to hear each other talk, which took away from the atmosphere. Service was slow from the start. It took quite a while before our waiter came by, though he was friendly once he arrived and mentioned we'd receive a complimentary flan for our anniversary. Our drinks took a long time to come out, and after answering a few questions, our server disappeared again for another long stretch before taking our order. When he finally returned, the upselling was obvious. I ordered the ribeye, which was genuinely delicious. My husband was talked into the Cowboy Bone‑In Ribeye -- much more expensive -- and he felt it wasn't nearly as flavorful as mine. We also ordered the mac and cheese, which was watery, and the street elote, which tasted more like plain boiled corn with cheese than anything seasoned or grilled. At the end of the meal, our server asked multiple times if we wanted to see the dessert menu and seemed to forget entirely that we were there celebrating our anniversary. We chose not to remind him and went to the ice cream shop across the way instead. Overall, Origen was just okay. It's too expensive for a casual night out and not quite special enough for a celebration. I really wanted to love this place, but it just didn't land for us. read more

Came here for my husband's birthday. Interior is stunning. Food was pretty good, but little things throughout the meal left me feeling a tad disappointed. We were seated at a table near the middle of the restaurant, and it is for sure a stunning restaurant. But for some reason, I felt very out of place and oddly isolated(?) even though we were near the middle. I finally realized while we were waiting for our entrees that we were sitting at a table big enough for 4-5 people and it was just us two, but all the other chairs were removed from our table. Not sure if that was to create more space? However I felt like I was sitting in a walk path and got bumped pretty hard by a server while eating, but it was fine. We started with appetizers and ordered the Queso Fundido. We tried to order the Charred Savoy Cabbage as well, but was told it was taken off the menu, even though it was listed on our menus. Apparently we had received old menus, and our waiter had to bring us new ones. I was a little bummed because I really wanted to try the cabbage, but no worries. Since it was my husband's birthday and we were celebrating some other things, we went all out and tried the Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye, the Angus Short Rib Steak, and the Tacos De Filet (comes with bone marrow). It did take quite a while for the entrees to arrive, but we didn't mind. Everything looked visually amazing when it came out. The ribeye was more rare than we liked, the tacos were a bit dry, but overall, the food was pretty good. I guess the thing that bothered me a bit was the complimentary birthday dessert. I had mentioned to the server that it was my husband's birthday when we ordered entrees. I wasn't sure if Origen did anything for birthdays, but I saw the group in front of us receive a birthday dessert and hoped we'd get one. While we were eating, I heard a different table that just arrived say it was their birthday and our same server said that he'd have "a nice birthday treat for them at the end of the meal." I wasn't sure if my husband heard our server say that to the other table, but was happy knowing he'd be surprised with a little birthday dessert at the end of the meal. However, we were never given a birthday dessert. Maybe our server forgot and we needed to mention it again, but it felt pushy and honestly I'm too much of an introvert to do that. It feels petty to be a little sour because we didn't get a birthday treat, but I guess with how much we spent on our meal, it would have been nice to get a little something since we were celebrating, especially when other people around us were getting birthday desserts. I do think this is still a good place for a special occasion. The food is pretty good and the interior is just so gorgeous. We had a fantastic meal at this relatively new restaurant located at Williams Field and power Road. First, I'd like to start by talking about the ambience. The decor inside this restaurant is absolutely impeccable. I definitely love the attention to detail throughout. The Wood gave us a very warm and cozy feeling. This was perfect because we were on a date night! I love the dark ceilings, the low lighting and all of the wood accents. Great romantic vibe. We settled on the short rib, which was on the shareable side of the menu. We're very glad we did. It was cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. It was topped with a delicious chimichurri sauce and accompanied by some perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes and absolutely delicious soy glazed caramelized, onions with a roasted jalapeño on top. Booked a reservation for 4 pm on Sunday for 8 people. From the moment you walk in you are intrigued by the design and wood work they do. Very very cool ambiance and way to add a unique elevated vibe! When we got sat we were pleasantly surprised by it being happy hour and ever more excited when we saw they had $29 filet on the happy hour menu. Definitely the best happy hour menu we have ever had. Kelly our server was great. She was efficient and all of our food came out great. Most of us got the filet cause how could you not. The steaks were grilled to perfection with a nice char and perfectly medium rare on the inside. We also got the guacamole and elote as appetizers, both weren't my favorite but still good and fresh! Recently came here for the first time for dinner. Had been excited to try it out since it had opened. Made a reservation online for a Wednesday night. We showed up early for our time and was able to get seated immediately, which was nice. The inside is very nice and has a great ambiance to it. The decor and dark lighting really set the mood. There is plenty of space inside. There is outdoor seating as well. Really enjoyed the vibe here! Service was just okay. For being a nicer steakhouse, I expected a lot better, honestly. We definitely waited a while before being greeted and to order. Nothing major, though. It looked like they only had 2 servers on the floor all night. The food was absolutely delicious! We split the shareable short rib steak, ordered the bone marrow, and a side of broccoli. Everything was so well made and outstanding. Had our father's day brunch here this year and had the greatest experience! Food was phenomenal. I shared the steak and eggs with my toddler and we both loved it. I wish the eggs were a bit more runny since I asked for over medium (but not necessarily wanted a sunny side). My partner had the chilaquiles which he loved. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. My latte was the right amount of sweetness and it came with a cute little dark chocolate treat. Best part about our visit was when my 3 yo spilled his water all over himself and the floor. The staff came to rescue so quickly and even helped with comforting my baby as he freaked out when the water spilled. As a mom that was everything to me. We went there for reverse Happy Hour which starts at 9:000pm. WOW, we were serviced by Angel and had about 10 people in our party. The service was fantastic. The music and atmosphere was super fun. This place is so great in every aspect! The food amazing. The recommendations by the server were spot on. Went to Origen for the first time to celebrate a family birthday. The place was very unique as far as the build out and atmosphere, but the food was lackluster, especially for the prices they command there. I ordered the salmon which was probably a bad choice for steak restaurant, but it was no different than the salmon dinner I would've received at Cheddars. In fact, they said it would be crispy and seared, and mine came out mushy as if it had been poached. For a high end restaurant, I also found the staff to be rather juvenile and unprofessional and the delivery was long on time. Many steaks ordered at my table were not that great either. A cool interior doesn't make you high-end if you don't have the great food and service to accompany it. We will not be returning; this is not a proven high-end restaurant by any means, but yet they charge as if they are. read more

A good friend recommended Origen after hearing us rave about our two great experiences at BLU Seafood next door. My wife and I made a 7:15 pm reservation and, when we arrived, were asked if we could wait a few minutes because they were busy. We were seated on the patio within about 15 minutes. Our server greeted us quickly, walked us through the menu, and took our drink and appetizer order. The drinks (a beer and an Old Fashioned) and the ceviche arrived promptly and were all excellent. Shortly after, we ordered our entrée along with another round of drinks. That's when things went downhill. We waited... and waited. My wife ordered another beer, which arrived quickly, but our food never did. Our server did stop by a couple of times to apologize and let us know there were delays. By around 9:00 pm, after more than 90 minutes since ordering our entrée, my wife said she wasn't even sure she was hungry anymore--and honestly, I felt the same. I asked to speak with a manager. The host mentioned it had been a "really rough night" and that three tables had already walked out. About 10 minutes later, a very polite manager came by to apologize and insisted on comping our drinks and appetizer, which we appreciated. I grew up in the restaurant business, and simply put, there's no excuse for a 90+ minute wait for dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the staff was friendly, and what we did have was very good--but unfortunately the overall experience was too disappointing for us to return. One final note for management: there was a gentleman on the patio in a white collared shirt working on a laptop and giving direction to staff, who appeared to be in a management or ownership role. Given the situation, it would have gone a long way for him to check in with guests and help address the issues. I hope they can improve, but for now we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

The owner Alex introduced himself at the beginning and at the end he ruined it. Let's begin by saying that the location is great and in such a cute area. The place is very nicely decorated and my friends and i enjoy the piano music. We were having a great time. And our waiter was excellent. Do not come here if you are planning an outing with your girlfriends or if it is a business meeting because if you stay long, Alex will come to let you know that you have over stayed your time. As you can see, we ordered a lot and my pictures do not depict other drinks our group ordered. We also tipped well but we will not be returning. Our party was not loud nor demanding. There were plenty of empty tables available so we were caught off guard when we were told that we had been here for too long! What in the world!! read more

OMG, I'm so disappointed with Origen. I thought it'd be amazing since it's a sister restaurant to Miel de Agave. I made a 7:45 PM reservation, and we got seated right away, but then... crickets! After 15 minutes, we waited literally 1 hour and 30 minutes for two steaks, and when they finally arrived, they were cold! I spoke to the manager, Elias, who apologized and took my medium rare steak to reheat. He brought it back medium well instead! Like, seriously?! No one checked on us, and not even a dessert to make it better. Major letdown! Do not waste an evening and your money there! The only enjoyment I got from there was the bottle of Heights I ordered but I could have enjoyed it at home without the markup . Ugh $300 down the drain! read more

I am so disappointed to be writing this, but it's warranted. We went in this weekend for Valentine's day which, OK big event... but the amount of staff versus patrons, there is no excuse. Tons of staff, tons of empty tables. We had our reservation for 6:15, sat maybe 5 minutes later, great start. The hostess took us to three separate tables outside before seating us... OK, some confusion from staff. It's an event night, I get it. We're seated. We've already looked at the menu and know what drink and appetizer we want. Our server comes by with water after 10 minutes and says they'll return for our drink order. Then... they return 30-40 minutes later. We're looking around at people seated after us getting drinks and appetizers. Finally our server comes back and we put in the full order because we've now been here a while and are hungry. We repeat the drink order three times because the server keeps writing dirty martini instead of Johnnie Walker Black ok the rocks (there were no rocks by the way). The food came out appearing delicious and my partner absolutely enjoy his steak and cold potatoes. The enchiladas were good, but my steak... all fat and gristle. Basically, too tough to even cut through with the knife. Most of that was tossed in the trash. I never ordered a second drink because well, our server didn't return for another 45 minutes. This place is very pretty and aesthetically pleasing but they have a lot to work one. The biggest one is service. If you're going to charge that much, give people a good time... and more steak, less gristle. Oh and we still tipped well because you know, that's the only time our server was remotely interested in being near us. read more

We were here early on a Friday afternoon for early dinner and we loved our experience. All members of the crew were friendly and warm and welcoming. Our server was attentive and upbeat but not hovering. The ambiance is very cool but still comfortable and inviting. We had the queso fundido as a starter and it was good but served with soft tortilla which was different. The signature Phoenix cocktail was generous and tasty. For entrees the Ribeye and the new addition white fish. Both were excellent. We also enjoyed the REAL flan and the dulce de leche volcano for dessert. Overall are fantastic experience and we plan to return whenever we can. By 5 pm the place was filling up, so probably snag a reservation if you can. read more

We went here for me and my boyfriend's anniversary and it's absolutely beautiful in there. The ambience is so cool and it definitely made us feel special. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. Our server didn't come for awhile which is okay! He apologized and was very kind throughout our whole time there. Unfortunately, the service wasn't the best in terms of attentiveness. Our waters were empty most of the time and we were barely checked up on. The food was great! The salmon is probably the best salmon I've ever had. The rest of the food is really good, however I don't think it's anything to write home about.
