Food was good. Salsa was just okay, not really flavorful. Ordered Michelada's that were delicious. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Service was attentive.

Weekday late lunch, we were greeted politely, and seated in a booth in the bar area. The ubiquitous chips and salsa were brought immediately with our drinks. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean, and relatively quiet. We ordered beef and chicken enchiladas, a chile relleno and a tamale. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. It was hot, fresh and tasty, beans and rice were very good. Portions were large. Around $45 with tip for lunch. A bit pricey, but not ridiculous. I'd look for lower price options next time, but it was a good meal.

We singlehandedly had some of the best service we've ever had at Rio Rico this past Friday. We tried to eat dinner at a different restaurant before stopping by Rio Rico on a Friday night. That restaurant had a 45 minute wait and as we were driving home, we pulled in to Rio Rico to see what their wait time was. While busy, they could still get us in at a booth at 5:30 pm on a Friday night. We sat down and were greeted a few moments later. Our waiter was SO nice! He is the son-in-law of the owners and he informed us that Rio Rico is a family-owned restaurant. They have free chips and salsa and the red salsa was so good! So flavorful and slightly spicy, it was perfect! Their Diet Coke was also spicy and crispy if you know what I mean! My young daughter didn't want to eat anything on the kids menu, but really wanted a breakfast burrito (at almost 6 pm) and the waiter said no problem - and she got a perfect bacon, egg and cheese burrito. It was so nice that they could do that, and they didn't even bat an eye! I had my Mexican restaurant usual, a taco salad, and it was good! I had it with grilled chicken and it was tasty! My only ask - was I wish it came with a dressing and not sour cream, but I failed to ask or mention it. We went home with full bellies and I got to try a new restaurant that was definitely worth the stop in! We will be back and look forward to making Rio Rico our new neighborhood Mexican restaurant!!

It's been a while. I've checked this place out. Couldn't remember if this was a former Mexican restaurant anyway the food here was good. I got the chimichanga with Pollo Finito sauce on it. Rice and beans. Very delicious. Also got a strawberry margarita over rocks which was also very good as well. The service was good Waitress and waitresses came over. Just check on us. Make sure we're good. It wasn't super crowded when we went so the ambience in the place was low enough we could sit there and talk without having to fight over music or anything like that. There's also a robot that brings out your food which I found as kind of a trip but it was kind of cool at the same time.

Very good! Family own spot with a simple authentic Mexican menu! David was our waiter he was super awesome and explained the menu great! They switched the t.v over to the game for us no problem and had a cute little robot that brought out the food!!!

Carna Carne Asada Burrito with Pico de Gallo and Cheese enchilada style

First off service was rather fast and efficient. Friendly staff and they even have a robot bringing food out of the kitchen. Very unique I must say. The meals were very good although my wife said the ground beef was lacking in flavor and my Carna asada burrito was packed with steak but failed to have much pico , just a lot of meat. We like the new location and will be back.

It was my mom's birthday, so we decided to check this place out as we noticed they had moved buildings from when we first moved to Arizona a couple of years ago. We arrived a little before 5 on a Saturday afternoon/evening for an early dinner. We were seated immediately as there were only a couple other parties in there. Right off the bat, our server was phenomenal! He was so outgoing and told us he was also the bartender and would be making our drinks. When he said that, we were worried he'd be overworked since he also had other tables he was managing... as well as making alcoholic drinks... Out worries were confirmed because it did take a while for our drinks to be served. My mom ordered the prickly pear margarita, I ordered the mango margarita, my dad ordered a beer, and my brother ordered a prickly pear mocktail. However, we did get our chips and salsa early on, but it would've been nice to be sipping on our margs while chowing down on the chips and salsa (but, alas). I should've ordered the prickly pear margarita. The mango flavor was all right. However, after it sat out for a while, I noticed the entire drink had become super salty. There was salt on the rim but it was almost like there was salt poured into it as it was being made. It felt like I had pockets of salt in my cheeks as I was sipping on it. Safe to say, I did not finish my drink, unfortunately. The food came out quicker than the drinks, thankfully. They have a good-sized menu with several choices for even the pickiest eater. I ordered a combo plate of a chicken enchilada + guacamole tostada (with a side of rice and beans). Everything was hot and delicious when It arrived at the table! The rice was a little dry for my taste, but the refried beans had a creamy consistency I enjoyed. The enchilada was the best part (not spicy at all, thank god) and the guacamole on my tostada was excellent and mashed to perfection. My mom loved her fajitas - the chicken had a nice sear and great flavor. My dad loved his burrito (which was MASSIVE) - even if the green sauce made him cry lol. My brother ordered grilled chicken nachos and he repeatedly emphasized that this place was different (in the best way) because they actually loaded up his nachos with chicken. The food was a solid 4.5/5, but the short-staffed aspect of it plus my margarita being too salty for consumption will bring this review down to a 4/5 for me.

Visited at an off time sometime between lunch and dinner so there were plenty of seats available. Our waiter was friendly and playful as well as attentive so we had a nice time. Haven't been to this location since they moved from their old location. It was nice and very spacious. The booth we sat in was a little worn but nothing to complain about. It was a little too early for dinner so got a snack of mini taquitos which was enjoyed alongside fresh made chips and yummy salsa. Don't care for onions so my lunch/dinner companion scored my guacamole. I remember all their portions were quite large so an appetizer was perfectly sized for my appetite. They were kind enough to let me get chicken and beef taquitos so I got to try both flavors. I thought the chicken was a nice change from my usual beef which I enjoyed. There's plenty of parking just outside the door. Give them a visit and remember to bring your appetite with you for a test Anna generously portioned meal!

Best Beef Taquitos, Ceviche, Carne Asada Tacos, Beef Tacos, Rice and Beans.

Rio Rico Mexican Grill The food is authentic, delicious from the tasty enchiladas, beef taquitos, beef tacos, rice, beans, salsas and the tacos de carne asada, we also had the refreshing ceviche as an appetizer. My son in-law and daughter invites me to Rio Rico every time I'm in town, they know how much I love the food, ambience and first rate service, the beautiful waitress was so attentive and pleasant she served our food with a smile along with a service robot. I can't wait to return only next time Ii think I'll order a delicious Margarita with my meal. Thank you Rio Rico.

For this occasion we ordered: Bone in ribeye: 4/5- the 20oz steak was perfectly cooked with a charred flavor, but I personally think it's missing butter and some rosemary. As for the mashed potatoes, it was finely grated and mashed and was just divine to eat Salmon carpaccio 3/5- the ponzu flavor was light and not too overwhelming and thought it was great sauce. However, the deduction comes in the way the salmon was cut. For sure if the Salmon were thinly slice vs chucks, I would've gave this dish a higher score. Cutting it in chucks had this mushy texture Ceviche 5/5- this ceviche was delicious. Right amount of seasoning, and with that hint of coconut it complimented the fish and shrimp to perfection As for the service, definitely could've used some improvement. Parking was a breeze, and since there were three of us (including one never-full teenager ), we went for the Mexi-Q Platter and added an extra birria taco so everyone could try one. It absolutely lived up to the hype! The surprise standout? The brisket tostada--sooooo flavorful and satisfying on every level! We also loved the sausage link, Mexi-Q twinkies (aka smoked jalapeños stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, then wrapped in bacon ), and honestly, everything we tried was a hit. For sides, we ordered Grandma's Calabacitas (a yummy squash veggie mix), roasted cream elote, and Julio's mac n' cheese (which I skipped, but the guys were big fans). We wrapped up this phenomenal meal with their GF banana pudding (they offer both GF and regular options), and it was seriously scrumptious--such a treat to have a gluten-free dessert that feels just as special! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive. They double-checked that everything we ordered (minus the mac n' cheese) was gluten-free, which is always such a relief. It means so much when a place truly understands gluten and can clearly guide you on what's safe. We sat outside and soaked up the beautiful weather--it was the perfect setting for such a fun and tasty meal! An easily awarded and well deserved

I ordered the Joyride Margarita and shrimp ceviche from the HH menu. Margarita was good, you could taste the alcohol and the tajin rim was tasty. The ceviche was great with a good amount of shrimp and avocado, very flavorful. Both were great considering they were only $6 each. For entrees we ordered the SoCal Burrito and the Beast Burrito. The SoCal Burrito was really good, and there was a lot of big shrimps. The al pastor was a bit salty as was the carne asada in the Beast Burrito but it wasn't too bad. We also ordered one crispy fish taco which was good and came with a heaping scoop of guacamole. I really enjoyed the side salad that comes with the burritos! It had huge corn nuts which was a nice surprise. All in all their menu could be a tad larger (I was hoping for burrito bowls or a fish burrito) but their food is pretty tasty. Our server was very nice and checked in on us just the right amount of times, offering more chips and salsa as soon as we needed it.
