Rudy's Mexican grill is my family's favorite Mexican restaurant in Mesa!! When we moved here we were looking for authentic San Diego style Mexican food and we found it.. From the grilled chicken to the BEST carne asada down to the guacamole always excellent!! We have used them for catering for parties, holiday gatherings and tamale orders all the time. We love this family restaurant so much and always have the best experience no matter what we order. They are a true gem in East Mesa. They have a really easy online ordering and a great rewards program. They have a cute sit-down area that you can come and relax and enjoy your dinner if you choose to do so. The staff is fantastic and the restaurant has a great ambience. My husband's favorite is the Rudy's burrito with red sauce. That is his go-to item.. They have a second location just down the street as well. (Rudys burrito) That's a smaller restaurant so just make sure you're ordering from the right location. I found that out the hard way. Lol However, it ended up being a blessing because this location was closer to my house. Make sure you give Rudy's Mexican grill a try next time you're looking for amazing Mexican food!! read more

My son and I eat at Rudy's every Saturday. We have been eating there for 3 years now. Rudy, his son Jr and the staff there are the friendliest people. The food is excellent. My son and I have brought many friends and relatives here. They also keep going there as well. We have had almost everything on the menu. We like it all. Even the chorizo is perfectly done. The tamales are delicious. Prices are reasonable as well. read more

Food is delicious, the staff is amazing. The young lady taking the orders, ( sorry, didn't get her name, but will ask next time) remembered me even though I hadn't been there in at least a year and a half. read more

Some weekends you just need breakfast in bed. Since I'm single and the cats aren't going to make me breakfast in bed, I decided to Ubereats to start this summer Saturday as it's too hot to be heating up the kitchen. Been craving a breakfast burrito, so I went with this location as I previously loved this place 5+ years ago when I worked in the area. What sold me on ordering is that for only $1.50 you can get grilled jalapeños as a side item! I love grilled jalapeños and was not disappointed. Solid potato breakfast burrito, and loved the guacamole which is more like a sauce to add in your burrito. The side salsas were also pretty good as well. The red being my favorite. Definitely plan to try their vegetarian burrito for lunch or dinner one day as that looks like a solid choice too. Very pleased with the quickness of the food, temperature of the food delivered, and the overall taste. Yum! read more

My favorite item here is the burrito with a jalapeno cream cheese on top. It normally comes with chicken, but they're always nice enough to substitute it with steak - sooo good! I've been here many times and they are always friendly. read more

very good service and fast delivery recomend eat here very nice very good tacos I love that place

They FORCE you to tip on carryout food. If I walk in to get my own food, I shouldn't be forced to tip ANYBODY ! On the plus side, I was able to keep the street tacos down without puking. read more

Rudy's - both Mexican grill and the smaller location - are my go to for East Mesa Mexican. It's just all around good and reliable.

Me and my mom have come to this place on multiple occasions. My comes specifically for caldo soup and I venture out. For this visit, me and my mom used the app to order. I do recommend the app as it is a point system and you can get something free with enough points. I originally wanted a chimichanga meal, however it was very expensive. This was one reason for the star drop, even though I'm aware prices are raising everywhere. I ended up getting carne asada fries which were a little cheaper. The second reason for the star drop was the long waiting period. I expected it, being a previous customer, and knowing they were busy and make everything. However, this time felt really long. The food was all accurate when we arrived home. My fries came as a decent portion. The meat to fry ratio was okay, I would say a little bit more meat would have been perfect. But they do not give enough guacamole either. After a while, my fries were seeming dry and I couldn't eat anymore. I would say I prefer filibertos for carne asada fries. Overall, I will definitely be coming back. If you can afford it, I recommend a chimichanga meal. It is very filling and if you get chicken it is always tender and moist. It is always my go to order. I do not think I will get the carne asada fries from here again. read more

Gluten free and dairy light eater. I am always looking for a quick Mexican Restaurant. This place ticked several boxes for me. Great customer service. Clean restaurant. Good took 10 minutes, all fresh. I ordered a rolled corn taco plate that came with beans and rice. I also got green and red sauce on the side. Freshly made filled tacos. These were not frozen, the wait staff said they were made to order. Great crunch and with the added toppings ( lettuce, cheese, guacamole, sour cream which I didn't get). There was only 3 I could have eaten more. I've read some reviews that they reduced their plate size because of prices. The beans were basic but good side. I ate it with rice. The rice was pretty good. Some mex rice has peas and carrots. These did not. Really good flavor. The sauces were both flavorful. The green was my favorite. The red was a bit spicy and not vinegary at all which I have had in other sauces. Overall I will return. read more

This local restaurant is a hidden gem! Bail on the mega franchises and support this local restaurant!!! We were amazed by the food and the nice atmosphere. The variety of delicious meats was impressive, and I especially enjoyed the fresh flour tortillas. The chili verde was full of flavor, and my wife couldn't get enough of the street tacos. She really liked the grilled chicken. Even the grilled shrimp was great. The complimentary chips and salsa were a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit--come support this great spot! read more

It's hard for find a family owned Mexican food restaurant in East Mesa. Rudy's is outstanding! They have a variety of food from enchiladas to enormous burritos. My personal favorite is the Cream Cheese Burrito. Service is quick and brings the food right to your table. It is truly a neighborhood spot as I seen my neighbors there all the time. It has a smaller dining room for people who want to stay and eat, and great take away. It is a must try! read more

I was close to hangry and needed something quick. With uncharacteristically little research, I chose Rudy's Grill. I got a burrito and a breakfast bowl to save for the morning. (Kitchen remodels lend ample opportunity for takeout). The burrito was HUGE! Delicious, and the tortilla seemed homemade. The breakfast bowl was machaca and scrambled eggs over refried beans with cheese. This isn't really a typical thing I'd order, but it was so good!! My order came with red and green salsas. I'm usually more of a red salsa person but I liked the green better on the burrito. The red salsa was pretty dang close to perfect though-- will require more research! read more

Was craving Mexican and decided to order in from this place, which was rated high in UberEats. Food arrived quick and looked pretty...but was super bland. I got a shredded beef chimichanga. The outside was too hard, the inside was undercooked, the meat was super dry and had no flavor. It had the tiniest bit of sour cream on top. I also added guac, which cost $1, and there was maybe 2 small spoonfuls. The chips were not great either - super (too) crunchy, thick, and unsalted. For the 3 salsas that came with the chips, the red was good - spicy, green was good, and the 3rd was a container of chopped onion.... I assume it was supposed to be pico with tomatoes and cilantro, but it was almost all just onion. This one's a no for me. read more

One of the best Mexican spots I've been to since I moved to AZ. My go-to spot when I'm craving Mexican food. Al pastor burrito and tacos were great. They were also super accommodating when we told them that my wife was vegan. They cleaned their cooktop and changed their gloves on top of making sure there was no dairy in or near her food. We didn't ask for any of that. The cooks just did it on their own. Great service! read more

This place has become a neighborhood staple over the years, and I feel like it doesn't get enough credit. I've reviewed it before, but felt compelled to update after I watched the hard working staff get berated for the food taking too long. First of all, this isn't Taco Bell. You can eat in or take out, but I strongly suggest calling ahead if you are taking out. Why? Well, if you do eat in, you will see about 5 people (one of which is the owner) working their tails off in the kitchen. The phone is always ringing and there's always a steady stream of customers. And the food? It's so fresh! Everything is made with care and delicious. You can't go wrong with the menu and the margaritas are always potent. Cheers to this family restaurant and thank you for making us feel like part of your family. read more

Went here for the first time tonight and had a good experience! Not too many people in there for a Saturday night, maybe one or two other couples. Easy ordering, nice service, food came quickly. Just wanted to try out a new place close to home and it didn't disappoint! We had the chips + guacamole appetizer too and it was pretty good, maybe not $6 worth of guac but still good. We split the main dish and it was enough food to be full! Will go again. read more

What happened!?! Every time we come the food is so good. Today was a major disappointment. Nachos were bland. Grilled chicken was rubbery. Chips weren't completely cooked. Soggy with oil. They gave my food to someone else that ordered food to go. Then we just watched everything go down hill from there. Orders were getting lost left and right. When I got my burro it was hot and tasty at least and the woman apologized. Young new girl taking the orders was mixing things up. Didn't know the menu or the food for that matter. Sadness. read more

First of all I have gone here multiple times. Most of the time is had been good, but this last time i was pissed. I went there to get my order at 2:20 i was standing there with nobody in the restaurant besides me and the people working there. Not only did they forget half of the stuff i asked for when they realized i was there he yelled " Oh shit " How unfortunate this business is going down hill.. read more

Best breakfast burritos. Restaurant opens at 10 AM. Why so late? Restaurant is very clean and the staff is very polite. Has a great menu.

I've been coming here for years whether it be dine in, take out or delivery. The food is always top tier and the service is great too!

Loved Rudy's! Tonight was our first night in and most definitely won't be our last! We started with the bean dip and margaritas. Really appreciate they offer single or double shots in your marg. Obviously we went with the doubles and no regrets. Service was on point! They were super friendly and on top of it. Now to the entrees, they did not disappoint. I had the queso tacos with the birria. The beef was perfectly tender and flavorful. The consommé was delicious as well. My boyfriend had the quesadilla and he just kept saying how good it was. Excited to go back and try their breakfast burritos. read more

My husband & I discovered Rudys on a delivery app. We were looking for a taco spot that had consome & Rudys was the only place that came up. We are big consome fans. We ordered the Quesdatacos that come with consome. Delicious! We ended up ordering 3 days in a row (Yikes!) lol they were consistent every time. Too 3 taco places in our opinion. One day we went to the actual location for a pick up. It is tucked away in the back corner of the plaza. Location is mice & clean and friendly staff. As you can tell I recommend this taco spot. read more
