If I could give this place 6 stars I would. All I can say is WOW! This weekend I had a reunion with my friend from the Peace Corps who went to ASU, and we decided to stop in here with my dad who was also in the area visiting his own friend. And we all had the best meal! We ordered the poblano chicken enchiladas, the mole enchiladas, and the shrimp and elote risotto and all of these 3 dishes were bursting with flavor. The elote shrimp risotto was so creative, I am still blown away by it. And it comes with a buttery bread that was perfect for dipping into the poblano and mole sauces. I had the Chichen Itza cocktail and it is hands down one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had! I got the chamoy rim and it came with a watermelon slice on top. It was absolute perfection! My dad and my friend got the margaritas and they both loved them! The interior is stunning. It's dimly lit, with vines coming from the ceiling with a live guitarist. Even the bathrooms were beautiful and had sugar scrub to wash your hands. Let me tell you - if this restaurant was in LA, this would be on the top food lists for sure. I am considering making my foodie influencer friend come out here just to try this restaurant. It's that good. I mean maybe one of the top 5 restaurants I've been to. I love Mexican food, I've grown up with delicious homemade Mexican food my whole life, but this elevated so many dishes I love and put a fusion twist on different foods as well. Just incredible. Solid food and a good staff that was mostly attentive and handled our large party with care. That said, our main server was excellent and friendly, and really went the extra mile. The only complaint is that for the price the portions are pretty laughable. The mini (single small spoon) sized portions of beans & rice that they serve are off-putting to the point of it being a topic of discussion for all 9 of us. If the quality of what was served wasn't as high as it was, this would be an insanely overpriced menu, versus just being overpriced. I haven't actually had the opportunity to dine here, so this review is based solely on my experience trying to contact the restaurant about a private group event. I reached out by both phone and email regarding a private event inquiry, and it has now been over two weeks without receiving a response. I understand that restaurants can be busy, but going more than two weeks without even a follow-up or acknowledgment is disappointing, especially when someone is trying to plan an event. Unfortunately, the lack of communication has left me with a poor first impression. If this is how private event inquiries are handled, I would be hesitant to move forward with booking an event here. read more

We had a Fri night dinner here for the first time and it was awesome! When we first walked through the door, we felt like we walked through a portal into a bar in like Scottsdale or Vegas! The ambiance was wonderful and perfect for date night. We were served by Ana who took time to explain the drinks and items we were interested on the menu. She was just absolutely great! We started with the Guacamole n chips and the Elote. Both were delicious and the chips are made in house I believe. We then had the short rib Birria and man it was onolicious! The beef just fell apart and the marrow with chips was lip smacking good! It fed the both of us just right. For dessert we had the Tres Leches cake and man we loved it too. The cake was moist and sweet but the ice cream was mild so it went perfect with the cake. We were stuffed! Love the food, and the service is generally great too! My only caveat is that they sometimes seem to get a bit overwhelmed, which can lead to slower service and a few inconsistencies. The first time I went, my steak was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, it was lukewarm. My shrimp was also cold and had an oddly mushy texture, almost as if it had been boiled, sitting out, or wasn't as fresh as it should've been. On my second visit, it took a while to get a few things, and my cocktail order came out incorrectly. For the price point, I do think these are areas they could improve. That said, I'll definitely be back! I really like the area, and when the food is prepared properly, it's genuinely delicious. I ate here on a Friday night while visiting Arizona. Very nice ambiance. We were seated just as the live band was finishing up. We got the elotes and guacamole with chips for appetizers. The Elotes were superb. The guacamole lacked flavor and salt. For main course I had the chicken green Chile enchiladas, which came with rice and beans. They were scrumptious. What in the actual....... The carne asada was not what some of the other reviews described...... it was dry and had a burnt taste to it. The mole enchiladas- ok sauce was like 10/10 it tasted so good, BUT BUT BUT it was cold AF. My meal was not even lukewarm. (And I even saw this as a complaint in other reviews) I would have rather waited an extra 15 mins to get my food than to eat something that was the same temperature as something that came out of the fridge. I honestly (never worked in the food service industry) cannot even understand how a meal that was just prepped could be so cold? Do I even want to know? I thought the review that mentioned Taco Bell was extremely rude, but they might be right just sayin........... so expensive and probably one of the worst meals I have had out. We went to Miel de Agave on Friday night before heading to a comedy show, and we were seriously blown away! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance, customer service, and drinks were amazing. I'm a HUGE mezcal lover, and they had a great assortment of mezcals and tequilas to choose from. If that's your thing, you will definitely appreciate their drink menu! Since we were heading to a show afterward, we didn't want to get too full, so we decided to share a few appetizers instead of ordering full entrées. The portions were surprisingly generous! We tried the chicharrón with guacamole, ahi tuna tostadas, and the Aguachile ribeye. Everything was delicious, but the ribeye was definitely a favorite. We're already fans of it from their sister restaurant, Blu Seafood, so we knew we had to order it here. Just keep in mind that at Agave it's served as an appetizer, so the portion is smaller so but absolutely worth it! And of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. We finished with their tres leches cake, and OMG... absolutely amazing. The perfect ending to the night! A special shoutout to our waitress, Jazmyn. She gave us incredible service, was so kind, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the menu. She made an already great experience even better. I really wanted to love Miel de Agave. It's in a great location in downtown Chandler and the menu looks awesome! The food just didn't hit the mark for our table. We tried the chicharonnes, which we did enjoy, but the avocado purée that accompanied it tasted very preserved - Possibly with citrus or something else? The tortillas also did not have much flavor. They tasted almost like something pre-packaged that you could purchase in the store. I expect more robust flavor profiles for House-made tortillas. We also tried the ribeye which we ordered medium rare but it came out medium well+. When we told our server about the steak, she did offer to have it remade but we hate wasting food so we declined the offer. We wanted to try the tres Leches cake because we saw another table order it and it looked so interesting. We didn't want the ice cream on top so we asked if there was anyway they could sub out the scoop of ice cream for a single small churro. Our server told us if we purchased the churros, she would give us the Tres Leches on the house to make up for the steak mishap. We accepted the deal though I don't think it appropriately addressed the issue. The tres leches was dense and firm, not like any other that tres leches I've ever had. The churros had a filling (either cajeta or dulce de leche - I really couldn't distinguish) that in my opinion, did not add value. I would've preferred a percentage off the bill or some other proposal to make it right. It just really wasn't there for me. I've talked to several people in the East Valley about this restaurant since I dined there, and seems my experience was shared among those people too. read more

Food was flavorful and perfectly cooked but the tomahawk was quite fatty Ik it's typically a very marbled cut but about a 3rd of the serving was just fat and very happy we didn't pay full price as it was a special when we went, the only real side was the corn which was delicious, along with a very small portion of beans. We keep coming back here for a reason. If you are in the East Valley and want a place with a serious tequila program, this is it. Kevin, the manager, runs this place exceptionally well. You can feel it in the consistency, the energy, and the overall experience. What really sets it apart is the tequila selection he curates. He brings in unique, high quality bottles you do not typically see, and it shows a level of care that tequila lovers will appreciate. The Mexico City elote is a must. Packed with flavor and always on point. The Rib Eye Aguachile is one of our go to orders, especially with the quesadillas it comes with. We always add bone marrow on the side and it completes the whole experience. The ribeye was a little overcooked this time, but still good and not a deal breaker for us. Matthew took great care of us. Kind, attentive, and made everything feel easy. We came on a Wednesday and it was packed, so make a reservation. Parking is limited, so Ubering is the best move if you plan to enjoy the tequila. What a pretty restaurant inside. Our waitress was on top of things. We did go for a birthday brunch but they don't serve brunch yet. It said brunch but we ended up with lunch. It was very good the Guacamole Dip was delicious and a large portion. Between the three of us we had a torts, enchiladas and tacos, the Michelada was incredible and the Margarita was served in a pretty glass. The birthday dessert was fun and good. First time eating here, and will definitely go back! We had a reservation for four of us and were promptly seated by a friendly host! Our server Jazmine was excellent, not over bearing and always checked in at the right time. All the individuals running food and drinks were also great and friendly! The cocktails had fun presentations and the taste was on point. All the food we ordered was perfectly executed! The Short Rib Platter with Bone Marrow was melt in your mouth. We ordered it to share between two of us and had a lot left over as well. It made for excellent repurposed breakfast tacos. I've heard nothing but good things about Miel de Agave so decided to check it out for my Dad's birthday dinner. To be honest, only 2 things really stood out from this dinner. 1) Their mango margarita 2) Ribeye Aguachile Everything else was just okay. For dinner, I ordered their MDA NY Steak but felt like more than half of it was just fatty pieces. Miel de Agave in Chandler is such a vibe. From the moment you walk in, the energy is fun, lively, and welcoming! It was the kind of place where you can dress up a little, relax, and actually enjoy the experience. I ordered the 12 oz NY steak and WOW. Cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and honestly one of those meals you keep thinking about after you leave. The Parmesan truffle fries were the perfect side. They were so crispy, indulgent, and impossible not to share (but you won't want to). Paired everything with a Reserve Cab red wine, which was smooth and delicious and tied the whole meal together beautifully. The service was amazing, attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and genuinely happy to be there, which makes such a difference. I had had a very stressful week and was in desperate need of a good spicy margarita! Earlier in the week, one of my good good girlfriends passed away and I was devastated. Anyway, I decided to come back here because I remember that their spicy margaritas were off the chain! I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint! In fact, I had two of them and they were quite tasty. I sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. There were several bartenders behind the bar, and it seemed that each one made sure that I was taken care of! Nice touch! I felt seen and heard! Since I was there, I thought I would try the Infamous Quessabirria tacos entrée. OMG! It was fabulous! It comes with two dipping sauces and some charred beans. I thoroughly enjoyed them and so did my husband. I brought the leftovers home to him. The atmosphere of this place is outstanding. I was here on a Friday night at about 5 o'clock and the place was filling up rather quickly! It's dark inside but once you sit down, they bring a cute little lamp over to brighten up your space. So I continued with the chicken... the chicken was CUBED. Not seasoned. I couldn't get over how chunky the chicken was and did not continue eating. I definitely do not recommend this dish. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Overpriced and Neglected We came here with high expectations for a friend's birthday celebration, but unfortunately, the entire evening was a massive letdown. First and foremost, the food was not nearly as good as we all were hoping for. Given the steep menu prices, we expected high-quality dishes, but everything felt incredibly overpriced for the subpar quality we received. The service, however, was the worst part of the night. It was absolutely terrible. Despite explicitly telling the staff beforehand that we were celebrating a friend's birthday, the gesture was completely ignored. No one ever smiled, and not a single staff member acknowledged the birthday person. Throughout the night, the staff completely avoided our table. We were left stranded and actually had to get up to find help ourselves several times just to get basic service. No one ever checked in to see if we were satisfied with our meals, and our drink refills were entirely forgotten. To top it all off, the music was blaring much too loud for a dinner setting. Even though we respectfully requested that they turn it down just a little so we could have a conversation, our request was completely dismissed. Between the mediocre food, astronomical prices, and completely indifferent staff, we will definitely not be returning. Every dish had large portions, money well spent. Another thing I enjoyed was their silverware, all the pieces had very long handles and were comfortable to use. Decided to try Miel de Agave for late lunch on a Sunday and walked in without a reservation. There were no tables available, although it did not seem too crowded--(No problem though, so friends and I sat at the bar.) We ordered a few apps and got the Sonoran tacos as my entree. Everything from the potato tacos-- to the aguachile was flavorful and delicious. I would describe this place as modern Mexican cuisine. Chic, jungle vibes with low lighting decor! I really wanted to love this place because the food is phenomenal. I had the chicken green chili cream enchiladas, and they were absolutely delicious--easily 5-star quality. However, the rest of the experience was a letdown. We visited on a Saturday afternoon (3/28/26) and the service was frustratingly slow. There seemed to be only one server working the floor while multiple runners just stood around the bar area. The drinks are a total rip-off. I had the Paloma, very refreshing and tasty but could not taste the tequila. The worst part of that, we paid $17+ per cocktail, only to realize there was little to no alcohol in them. Pro-tip: Come for the food, but save your money and grab a drink at one of the many bars down the street in downtown Chandler instead. Or stick to wine & beer. I've got mixed feelings. First, the good: parking was easy, service was super fast, and the inside is really nice. Lots of greenery, elevated lighting, and the whole space has this rainforest-meets-modern vibe that feels thoughtfully designed. The tables and layout definitely make it feel more upscale than your average casual spot. Now the downside... the food came out really fast, like 5-10 minutes after ordering, and honestly it tasted like it. I ordered enchiladas, but it felt more like three tacos with cheese sauce and heavy crema on top. Then instead of rice and beans, it came with what was basically enchilada toppings served as a side salad, which was a little confusing. Also, the ratio of staff to guests was wild. I was the only one there but somehow felt rushed the whole time, which took away from the experience. Hubby and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and this was a meal that did not disappoint! The inside is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner for 2 or a girls night out with the group. We started with cocktails and an order of the elote. Hubby's paloma was refreshing and light and my carajillo was perfectly balanced. As an avid espresso martini lover, it was a perfect option for something new that fit the vibe The elote was also wonderful. Grilled corn topped with traditional elote toppings, it was sweet, smoky, spicy, and delicious. For entrees, I had the NY Steak, cooked to a perfect medium with a lovely, herby chimichurri and parmesan truffle fries. The fries were truffle-y but not overdone, something many restaurants struggle to execute well. Hubby had the pasta Bacanora: tender shrimp, wrapped in crispy bacon, served on the most creamy, delicious pasta, with perfectly grilled sourdough bread. We ended the meal with the tres leches cake, which, although it did not need the ice cream, was one of the better tres leches cakes I have had in a while. A delightfully light, spongy cake soaked in a delightfully sweet milk mix. The fresh berries were nice added touch. All in all, we will definitely be back to Miel de Agave! read more

Oh boy, it started with a beautiful entrance just off of Arizona Ave. We were seated right away on a Tuesday evening. No reservations. Staff is nicely dressed in uniform for serving their customers. We tried a cocktail that was half mojito and half mule!!! OH MY GOODNESS! This was just delicious....also with this drink came a tiny little EXCITEMENT BOMB in the form of a "Buzz Button." They place this small plant bud into the top of your drink and you nibble on it as you sip your drink....WHAT IS GOING ON WILL EXCITE YOUR TASTE BUDS!!! I can't really explain in detail how wonderful this little burst of "what the heck was that "...I wanted more. Ok, so on to the dinner. Again, they did not disappoint... hubby had the triple cheese burger and it was the best he has had! I chose the Sonora tacos with steak and chicken...sooo delicious. Shout out to Ana!! She was the perfect blend of patience and professionalism that made the experience that much better. She explained everything and was so helpful because it was our first time. Omg...I passed this place a billion times thinking there's no way this place could be good sandwiched between Black Rock and Jersey Mikes. Then I started hearing about it from fellow foodies. Then I read reviews. Then I got curious. Why did I wait so long to go?! So many wasted dinners at "meh" restaurants! The drinks were delightful and so fun! Mine came smoking from dry ice around it. I also had a Miel take on an espresso martini. Both were so yummy! As someone who drinks maybe a bevy once in a while when I'm out these days, the fact that they got me to drink two is kind of a big deal! We had the elote and potato tacos to start. Both were FABULOUS. Like, I dream about the tacos. Also, just a note, I brought one home and heated it up on the stove then put a fried egg over it and it was the best breakfast. Then I had the bacanora pasta. Why? I don't know. I should have gotten the enchiladas. It was def good, but I regret it. I got scared and got the weirdest thing you can possibly get at a Mexican restaurant. Husband got the birria torta. The flavor was outstanding. I ate a lot of his food. The one thing I will say: I had one of my kiddos with me and there were probably 10 other kids at the restaurant. Chandler is very family friendly. This is our third time dining there. Unfortunately, each time it seems to have gotten worse. The pours for the wine were pathetically small. The smoked old-fashioned was almost $30. Service was extremely poor. We asked for salsa on two separate occasions and never received it. It did make its way on the bill, however. The elote appetizer was still very good. Tuna appetizer was so so. I had ordered it in the past and it was previously better. QUESABIRRIA tacos were soggy. For the price and the terrible service, I will be passing on this place in the future. read more
