My first experience will be my last. The lady neglected to tell me that they do not offer lunch during the weekend and offered me a lunch menu. I was existing not only lunch process, but the soup that came with said lunch. I ordered two entrees and instead of telling me that Is be getting dinner entrees with no soup (during the 15 minutes while I waited) she only addressed the issue after I questioned the bill and asked why the soups were missing from my order. I guess only lunch comes with the jasmine rice that's on their menu, because this is some cheap uncle ben's rice. Completely overpriced. There's no reason to go here as you can go to another Thai place closeby without getting bamboozled (and fed crappy rice). read more

Seemingly more of a take-out business, the food here is not half bad but the service is spread thin. There was only 1 waitress who worked all the tables and take out customers, but she was a very kind person. We had the Tom yum with shrimp and green curry with chicken. It's typical Thai food - nothing special. Although watch out if you mind MSG. After the Tom yum soup, I swear I was floating on clouds (that might be good for some of you?). The spicy curry is SPICY!! Request medium or mild if you're scared. I'd come back for convenience since it's down the street but probably more for take-out when I'm lazy! When you have slightly above average food, don't kill it by chopping your portion in half and jacking the price up. The price-to-portion ratio really really is the killer here and just doesn't cut it. Aside from that I thought everything else was fine enough to warrant a 3.5, for myself at least. My wife however may have gotten food poisoning from undercooked meat, so that is another story. I'm just mentioning it, but could have been something else so I didn't factor it into my final rating. Honestly, if you're a ritzy Johns Creek person and money doesn't mean anything, this isn't a terrible place. I just think there is better value elsewhere and the food isn't a 5 star by any means. I tried this place not long after moving to John's Creek in the hopes of having an awesome Thai place nearby. Unfortunately it was pretty bland. The noodles were sticky and the pad thai was all the same consistency. I hoped for well cooked noodles, but they were mush with mushy sauce and no variation of that theme anywhere. My wife and I have come here a few times a month for years. Sometimes we eat in, sometimes we take out. It's just consistently good food. I usually get the Red Curry w Tofu and of course coconut soup. The specials are usually really good too. Tonight my wife had the Pad Prig Pao. I had the Seafood Combo. Both were excellent. The Yum Seafood salad was different, it consist of shrimps, scallops, mussels, calamari, carrot, onions, cilantro, and lime, The presentation was nice with a carrot made to look like a flower. My friends curry dish also had a carrot that look like a flower. read more

Love this place. Being a vegetarian, I don't have to worry about the fish sauce, which is ubiquitous in Thai restaurants. But they made great accommodations by not adding any, and the taste was still great. They serve a trio of sauce on the side. The chilli paste is out of this world!!!. The server told that it was homemade. .really delicious, with lots of flavor and texture, unlike the vinegar based store bought ones. We ordered pad Thai and Thai basil and peppers for lunch . Both were extremely tasty. Service was a bit slow, since there was only one server, and we were getting very hungry. But we all will definitely go there again ! read more

While the food has always been good they have consistently been understaffed. Long waits for anyone to get order or get food or refills on drinks. The timing of service was terrible. 2 sets of people left while we continued to wait for our food. Over an hour to exact. The waitress was working by herself & I could tell was overwhelmed, but when we first got there she tried to seat us at a table and we preferred a booth, she argued with how we would be more comfortable at the table (we're a family of five, our kids are young and we prefer a booth) then I asked what was taking so long on our entrees and her response was we had an appetizer and should enjoy it. That did it for me. I wanted to find out what was taking so long and instead was told to eat my appetizer. In the end, we had an automatic 18% gratuity added to our check-for having 5 people. 2 adults and 3 small children and one of them didn't order food. I will never return to this restaurant. This is the most consistent and long time standing restaurant in Duluth/Johns Creek! Fantastic Thai Cuisine. I don't know if I even want to give one star. A party of 5 walked in, the place wasn't busy until after we placed the order. A group of 6 came in about 20mins after we had placed the order, and a group of 3 came in after 30mins since we have sat down. The waitress didn't say a word about our food being delayed or anything, but she was avoiding our attention the whole 40 minutes that we waited. We then got up, asked the cook if our food was even started, and they said "yours is so easy only 5 minutes". Meaning they could have brought us our food out without having us wait for 40 minutes. I have been to Chaba Thai many times. Each time I have eaten there I have been happy. I love the Tom Kah (coconut soup) so delicious and flavorful, with a hint of lime. This is my family's go to restaurant all the time! Everything on this menu is delicious ( I would know because i'm pretty sure I tried everything) My personal favorite is the drunken noodles; this place makes them the best!!! Their plates are always beautifully designed with little carrot flowers, and the food never disappoints! The service is extremely fast, and the aesthetic is really cute. Chaba is right down the street from me so every time I get the munchies or don't feel like getting the pots and pans out I head there. Very quiet, clean, friendly setting. Fairly small though, but never crowded (even at dinner time). I've only seen one waitress there who knows our order w/o even asking since we've been there so many times. The Pad Thai and the Drunken Noodles are excellent!! But I think my favorite is the Red Curry w/ a pre-game of sweet and sour soup. I made the mistake of asking for Thai Hot (out of 1-10 spicyness, it's supposed to be a 15). I could only eat about 1/4 of the meal before my stomach was on FIIIIIRRRREEE! I'm asian so naturally I enjoy spicey foods but damn! The other yelper definitely did not get Thai Hot because it's one of those things you just know when you eat it, no questions about it. Anyways, Chaba is a great family/date/grunge place to go and definitely worth checking out. The location is ideal for dinner and a movie since it is in the Regal parking lot. Drunken noodles are very greasy The cook/owner who prepares the food is very inconsistent at times. Sometimes she gives you extra sauce and then other times, she adds grease to stretch the sauce instead of giving you the true genuine sauce for the drunken noodles. Very unethical and very unprofessional. We have been coming here for years. This is the best thai in the area hands down (spent a month in Thailand and this food is comparable, and in some cases better!) Took my daughter here because her favorite Thai, Nahm, is closed for lunch on Saturday. We both ordered the Panang Curry. Borrowing from an old Wendy's commercial "Where's the Panang?" It was a small portion, but very little Panang sauce with the chicken. Taste was ok. When I commented to the waitress about the small amount of sauce, rather than saying "let me get you some more", she stated the obvious "that's how we serve it". Well yes, I see that. That's why I commented! Really, there wasn't enough sauce to mix it with the rice that comes with it. Her English was poor and my daughter had a hard time understanding her. Twice my daughter asked "excuse me?' and twice she received a very hostile glare. Water service was pretty sparse through out the meal.
