We tried here for the first time. Nice Ambience. Service is nice. We tried sushi, Drunken Noodles, Thai Fried rice and few more dishes. Food is not spicy nor hot and not what we expected. Price is reasonable. Would not go again. Huge parking space.

Spicy Mango Chicken

We went here for lunch. I ordered Spicy Mango Chicken for $12. Average price. I was disappointed that it was not spicy to the level I expected. However the chicken is cooked to perfection-crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The peppers and mangoes add sweetness to the dish. Rice is alright-too dry for me. The only thing I absolutely dislike is waiting more than 30 min for it to come out and have to eat in 10 min (got indigestion and heartburn later).

Amazing amazing food. The service was so quick. It was nice and quiet inside. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The food was amazing it was super hot and flavorful. The ambience and decorations around the restaurant were awesome too. We loved this experience.

I have been to Pearl Lian quite a few times over the course of the past 10+ years, and it has been great every single time. This time around, we went for my mother-in-law's birthday. There were about 12 of us, so a bigger party. We got seated in the back at a nice table pretty quickly. The server did an excellent and efficient job at getting all of our food and drink orders in. She was attentive throughout our entire dinner and got our food out pretty quickly. Some dishes took a lot longer than normal for some reason, but it eventually got to the table. Our table got a few appetizers to share like the spring rolls and crab Rangoon. Both tasted really good! Me and my wife shared the cucumber salad and hot and sour soup. I am not the biggest fan of cucumber salad, but my wife is. It was still pretty good! My soup was great! Flavorful and HOT. For our main dishes, I got the chicken and broccoli, and my wife got the Panang curry with chicken. Both tasted SO GOOD. The portions were also pretty big too, we had quite a bit to take home after. Pearl Lian is located in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. The ambiance is very nice inside too. Not too casual, but not too formal, the perfect place for a date night or a special occasion. I would come back here again, no doubt about it!

Not the best picture - too much glare but try to zoom in and read it.

Excellent. Quality of food is top notch and service is very efficient. Full bar and lots of wine selection. Just went this week and noticed some specials. I'll try to add the picture I took.

Spicy basil lamb; one of their best offers! Today I added the Tom yam soup and miso for my son who absolutely loves miso soup!

My wife and I were craving Szechuan chicken for lunch, and since she wanted to try a new matcha tea…read morespot in Duluth, we decided to turn it into a little date day. We found a restaurant not far from the matcha shop. It felt more like a Chinese takeout spot than a traditional sit-down restaurant, so there wasn't much to speak of in terms of decor. We decided to share everything we ordered. The first dish we tried was the Szechuan noodles. The flavor was excellent, but unfortunately, the dish arrived only lukewarm, as it appeared to have been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. Next, we ordered soup dumplings, but the restaurant accidentally brought out pan-seared dumplings instead. Thankfully, they let us keep them while they prepared our original order. The pan-seared dumplings were actually very good--piping hot and full of flavor. When the soup dumplings finally arrived, they were decent but didn't quite live up to the pan-seared version and lacked the same level of flavor. Finally, our Szechuan chicken arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy with a great spice profile that delivered the classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It was served with fried rice, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was good but not exceptional. The food had some strong points, especially the Szechuan chicken and pan-seared dumplings, but the restaurant ultimately felt more like a solid Chinese takeout spot than a destination dining experience.

The food was okay. Glad there was a lunch menu. The interior had a bunch of worn down furniture.read more

We were greeted quickly at both the door and table. For a dumpling house, there weren't that many options for dumplings. We order two types of dumplings, a noodle dish and an entree on recommendation of the staff. The pork soup dumplings were very soupy on the inside and had a good flavor. The pan fried bao dumplings were alright but morning to write home about; I thought the bun to filling ratio was good for a bao though. For noodles we got the house rice noodles. I typically don't order this but I thought it was really well done with a good ratio of ingredients and flavor. Lastly we ordered the sales egg pork ribs. They were cut to bite size pieces but that's deceptive since they were bone in. Some pieces were all bone and some all meat. While the flavor was good, some might call it dry and the cut made it difficult to eat. While the seasoning for all the dishes were flavorful, I thought the salt was a little heavy. Overall the restaurant was clean with a semi modern decor. The staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful throughout the visit. I'd give it a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Overall, we were impressed with their service and food preparation more than the food itself, all the dishes were good, but no dish stands out to my expectations for a Michelin Bib Gourmand, so the price as well. Here was our experience: Appetizer-Signature Salted Chicken: the skin was crispy; we ordered Steamed Pork Dumplings outside of regular menu, it's so so; main dish - Mapo Tofu W. Minced Pork: taste good, tofu was very soft; Stir-Fried Pork Belly with Green Pepper: pork part was good, pepper was on the raw side, not matching the pork; soup - Tofu and Veggies Duck bone Soup: taste diluted with more water; Desert - Peach Gummies with Tremella: cold and smooth. I feel like to give 3 and half stars, but 4 stars anyway.

We ordered chicken with Shanghai bok choy that was as good or better than any I've had in Chinatown in SF. Super garlicky and that "cooked in a hot wok" Cantonese flavor that I crave. Tip for anyone who likes shellfish: buy your lobster or crab from the market (sometimes on excellent sale) and bring it raw and in the bag. They will clean and cook it for you Hong Kong style - it's just $6/lb. The restaurant was super busy and had lots of take out and catering orders as well which was a good sign. The fish dish was filled with fresh peppers and onions with tender white fish in a delicious brown sauce and served with rice. Excellent dish. Our second dish was seafood ho fun (flat rice noodles). This dish was served fresh and piping hot with shrimp, squid, fish, green veggies, and black mushroom along with other ingredients server on top of a bed of broad rice noodles. We were pleasantly surprised at how well prepared this dish was and the amazing wok hei flavor. The menu is extensive and we will definitely be back again!

PEKING DUCK - $43.95 It's the same 2-course meal where they will bring the whole roasted duck and then slice in front of you, then serve w/ the crepe wraps, thinly sliced onions and cucumbers, and hoisin sauce. The crispy skin is the best part, yum! For the 2nd course, we did the salt-n-pepper stir fry ... next time we'll just do the regular stir fry. As you can see from the photo, there really wasn't that much meat in the stir fry, everything felt pretty charred, and what meat was there was super salty. The first course was the highlight! FYI they charge $5 if you order more wraps. JAPANESE TOFU CLAY POT - $19.95 This was so delicious - they use silken tofu so it just melts in your mouth. The sauce includes minced pork too - very good w/ rice! I loved this dish! STIR FRIED YU CHOY - $18.95 We wanted some greens - I thought it was just ok. BRAISED CHICKEN W/ GINGER - $22.95 Good flavor but it's boned chicken and there are also tiny bone bits throughout ... we found it stressful to eat b/c you really have to be careful. I wouldn't order this again. Overall great spot for family-style dining. Very extensive menu - almost overwhelming! FYI they charge $5 for tea. Our server was very helpful and honest w/ his recommendations - thank you!

It's modern, chic, and stylish; you almost feel like you've stepped into a completely different part of Duluth. I think it's a great date spot because it's such a cute upscale atmosphere paired with amazing food. We ordered the mala pot with beef only (no shrimp, with extra beef), special lamb skewers, special beef skewers, and a seafood boil with shrimp, clams, mussels, octopus, corn, and lotus root slices. Everything was amazing, but let's focus on the lamb skewers for a second. I have never liked lamb, and this was the first time I've ever genuinely enjoyed the flavor of lamb without that strong gaminess. The texture was also amazing. You can already tell the beef skewers are going to be good, but somehow I actually liked the lamb more than the beef... which I never thought I would say! This was my first time here btw, so the menu and ordering process felt a little overwhelming. It had been quite a while since my friends and I got together, so I didn't even realize they had moved a little farther down next to Chubby Castle! The new location feels much more spacious than before, and it was pretty busy and lively when we came in. This time, one of my friends ordered the Crispy Fried Pork. As someone from Fujian, I usually prefer sweeter flavors like Guo Bao Rou, but this savory version was actually really good too. The second dish was Cumin Beef, and it smelled amazing with the onions and cilantro. I ordered the Jianghu Crispy Pork, which was crispy without being overly greasy. The dried chili seasoning gave it a nice kick and made it especially good with rice. We finished with some Red Willow Beef Skewers and Crispy Chicken Cartilage. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and perfect for sharing. More than anything, it was just nice to sit down with old friends again--eating, laughing, and catching up on what's been going on in everyone's lives. As we get older, you really start to realize that every chance to get together feels a little more precious. Great food, good memories, and a very enjoyable return after all these years.
