I was a huge fan of this place when it was strictly Japanese...and was quite bummed when I heard they changed this restaurant from Japanese to Asian fusion. In any case, I finally decided to check out the place for dinner. Well, right away, I saw that they added more tables. Even with more tables, the restaurant still seemed pretty spacious. I've always loved the spaciousness of this place...but I find the layout a bit awkward. Unless you come with a group of 4, you'll most likely be seated in the open area...where there's just this utter lack of privacy. So yeah, as nice as this place is, there's a certain lack of comfort and coziness? I also noticed that their menu/menus looked quite different. Initially I was handed just this Korean-Chinese menu...and when I asked if they had Bento Boxes, they handed me the Japanese menu, but I didn't see any sushi rolls on the menu (??). I should have asked, but I just let that go. In retrospect, I really regret not asking. But then again, I wonder why they didn't hand out ALL the menus right off the bat? Who knows...Maybe they had a third menu with a list of sushi rolls?? ANYWAY, I ended up ordering their Bulgogi Bento, which turned out to be quite substantial in portion, and well presented. The thing I didn't like was the bland, undercooked Bulgogi, with excessive fat. I've been getting served a lot of Bulgogi like this lately around town..and it has somewhat turned me off to Bulgogi in general. I personally prefer a much better cooked Bulgogi, with less fat. I enjoyed the Japchae, as well as the fried sides, but frankly, all the foods were all lacking in full Korean flavor. Some of the sides in the bento just seemed off...like these lackluster Avocado Sushi Rolls and a generic Salad (??). I felt that for the 32-dollar pricing, the sides should have been much better. This bento also came with Egg Drop Soup...but again, too bland. Guess I should have poured some soy sauce. As usual, the service was really good though. They even added this complimentary post-meal drink...this might have been the best part of my entire meal? I still think this is a really nice restaurant, with a lot to offer. I just didn't like how it got rid of many of its stellar Japanese menu items. Also, unfortunately, I just didn't like what I ordered. Again, the Bulgogi was too mild and too fatty...and all the foods in the Bento tasted a bit too bland. If I was to return, I would definitely not repeat the Bulgogi Bento. Came here with a friend on a weekday night and were surprised that it was pretty busy. We ordered the king pork cutlet plate and fried chicken to share. The pork cutlet was golden and crispy on the outside while still tender inside. The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the house-made sauce added a nice kick. The portions were generous and the service was very good. The waitress was obviously very busy, but she was still attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Plenty of parking in the plaza. I think this used to be a Japanese Korean fusion place that was just okay (per different people) that is now a Chinese fusion place that is much improved! You can already tell that the Koreans love it, lots of people were coming in post church. The menu is pretty big with a lot of different entrée options. My family and I shared some things and they let us spin this wheel where we could get a free food item depending on what we landed on! I don't know how you qualify for the wheel (maybe if you spend a certain amount) but it was fun. There is a "blank" option on the wheel which means you don't get anything so you do need some luck with it lol. Food/price: - Sweet and sour pork ($29.99): they use chapsal which is a sweet rice for the batter which makes it slightly sweet if you try it without the sauce. They're pro here and give you the sauce on the side which is your standard tangusyuk sauce that's sweet/sour with woodear mushrooms, cabbage, pineapple, and etc. overall this was good but I think it's similar to the sweet and sour pork at other Korean/Chinese restaurants that serve it like Zoong Guk Jib. - Sweet and spicy shrimp ($29.99): this was amazing!! Definitely recommend. The batter is probably similar to the sweet and soup pork because it was light and crispy but the sauce of the shrimp was delicious. Slightly sweet and spicy but nothing you couldn't handle. - Black bean noodles ($10.99): solid but not the best in ATL - Seafood noodle soup ($15.99): the portion size is HUGE. Good food, good portions! I came to Yuki for an early Mother's Day lunch, and initially when I walked in, it wasn't that busy, but it got busy fast. Our table of 10 went with the Combo B set, and we ordered 1 more entree on top of that. We definitely could've done without the additional entree, there was so much food! All the food was decent, but I didn't find it particularly special. I will say the Mapo Tofu was more to my liking compared to other restaurants (I didn't pick up on any peppercorn taste). Service was decent considering how busy it was. I appreciated how they split our dishes into 2 plates since we had a long table. I've heard from so many people about Yuki's having amazing food but my experience was disappointing unfortunately :( My friends and I came on a Monday night at 8pm and was seated quickly. Ambience is beautiful - the restaurant is spacious, has high ceilings, decor is fancy - and it feels like high dining. The servers were also very attentive and helpful. However, the food was not as expected. We ordered 4 dishes and it was pretty pricey. Details below: 1) Japchae ($20) - my favorite dish of the night. It was saucy, flavorful, noodles were both soft and chewy. It had the flavors of beef chowfun, which I liked, but not your classic japchae. Rating: 7/10 2) Hot stone bulgogi bibimbap ($20) - nothing much to note here. Just a standard bibimbap. It was special, didn't have anything stand out flavors. I'd pass this one next time. Rating: 6.5/10 3) Sweet & spicy shrimp ($30) - Saw sooo many good reviews about this dish but my friends and I all felt the same way. It lacked flavor, the coating was so thick, and there was barely any sauce coated on the shrimp. I would not order this again. Rating: 5/10 4) Sweet & spicy chicken ($30) - Looks are deceitful! The chicken looks like it'd be crispy but it was soggy actually and a lot of breading. You can get semi-private tables if you reserve in advance (partly covered by walls). It can get packed pretty fast so if you're coming during peak hours with a larger group, make sure to call ahead. I've been a few times and mainly ordered their combo A, which comes with Seafood Nurungjitang (seafood soup with scorched/crunchy rice), cold jellyfish salad, stir fried seafood/vegetables/beef, fried pork belly in soy sauce, fried chicken in hot and sour soy sauce, stir fried shrimp in sweet and spicy sauce, stir fried chili peppers and pork (comes with 4 pieces of flower buns / mandarin rolls, and a choice of jjajangmyun (black bean noodles) or seafood jjambbong (spicy seafood noodles soup). Not a fan of their jjajangmyun as I feel like it lacks the jjajang flavor, but older adults tend to prefer it since it's the taste is less strong than other places in the area. I'm usually not one to order jjambbong, but I hear that's good. The other entrees in the combo are all good. Lots of portions! Their shrimp dish can be a tad bit spicy for those who are not good with spicy like me, but I think it can be dependent on the chef that day. I've tried it multiple times and sometimes it's not as spicy but other times I wasn't able to eat due to the spiciness. A good place for family dinners. There are so many amazing dishes that Yuki offers and thankfully they have courses for indecisive people like me. A lot has changed since I last visited. They seem to be more focused on Korean-Chinese cuisine now and switched the name from Yuki Izakaya to Yuki Asian Fusion. FOOD: Cream Saewoo ($29.99) - It seems they might have discontinued this item 2 days after I visited on 08/12, but they have a couple other shrimp dishes that were good as well. The sauce was the best, lemony and creamy, but they really did not give us enough compared to the amount of shrimp they gave. Seafood Ulmyeon ($16.99) - I've never had this dish, but was pleasantly surprised. It has a thick broth and includes noodles, seafood, and veggies. The taste is very rich and since the broth is thick, the noodles are all coated in the broth. Black Bean Noodles ($10.99) - I would not recommend this dish. There are much better options elsewhere. The sauce is bland and way too watery. If anything, the noodles were cooked really well. Seafood Jjampong ($15.99) - This was pretty decent. The broth was smoky and had a good spicy kick at the end. SERVICE: I couldn't tell if our initial server was just new or didn't want to be there, but she did not have the best attitude. Other servers were great! They would check up on us and make sure we had everything we needed. OVERALL: It's unfortunate that I would not recommend the 2 main dishes in Korean-Chinese cuisines, but the other big plates to share were all great. Yuki izakaya changed into 'Yuki asian fusion' some time towards late 2023 from a Japanese concept to a Korean/Chinese restaurant. Aka jungkook jip. While the ambiance is the same, the menu has drastically changed of course. You get your typical jja jjang myun, jjampong, tang su yuk (deep fried pork in sweet sauce) and more. I think the pricing is standard for some, and others a bit on the pricier side. We ordered mapo tofu one day and it was $27. Also the shrimp jja jjang myun was $17 vs the $11 regular bowl (which is understandable.) I see a lot of people order the nurangji seafood which is a ginormous bowl of scorched rice and seafood. This place has been pretty consistent with their food and also seems relatively busy nowadays. They have table seating as well as nice, roomy booths that can fit up to 6. read more

I finally made it here to my bookmarked place without knowing it thanks to a gf suggesting this spot. The vibe of this place was really nice. You get a wowing sensation, at least for me. Even the disposable chopsticks looked premium. We shared the anjoo set menu for $60 which she said had good sampling options. It was a good combo size for two as well: --- Sashimi: I really dug the salmon! I am unsure of the other two fishes, but they had less fat and weren't particularly to my fancy (the fatter the fish type, the better the taste). One of the red fish sets did seem to be a bit on the dryer side imo, but overall pretty good quality. Yakitori: The chicken pieces were small and minimal. It came with two skewers. Taste wise, it was okay. Overall average to say the least. Shishito pepper: These were generally not hot, but I suppose if you hit a few seeds that it would have spicy notes. It's like jalapenos but much bigger. Enoki and bacon: The bacon provided a nice texture and flavor for the enoki. This resemble baby scallops with itty bitty bacon pieces wrapped around. You will taste the crispy bacon more than anything else. Sausage and rice cake: This miniature sausage was slightly salty. The rice cake definitely mellowed out the sausage's flavors with a nice charred texture. Takoyaki: There were 5 pieces to share, and it was really warm and delicious. I could only taste a few (like two) octopus balls though so that was disappointing. Tempura: The coating was really good and thin. There was a decent variety of pieces to share. Nagasaki jjamppong: The soup was very flavorful: fragrant and sweet. The (blue?) crab probably added some nice flavors. I also saw exactly one mussel so I'm unsure if this has a seafood base. Fish roe rice: My friend said the last time she was here there was definitely way more rice. Though really good, the portion was definitely cut in half. :( --- The downside is the loud music playing in the background. It was hard to hear each other talk. Also, the food portions were on the smaller end. For us girls, the size was decent and filled us up. If the hubs were there, he would probably leave wanting more food. Would I come again? Sure. Came for dinner to celebrate one of my friend's birthday. I called ahead and asked if we were allowed to bring our own cake and they allowed. Upon entering you feel totally transported. The ambience is calm and personal. It's dim but not dark. The wait staff was kind and attentive till we paid the bill.. then they never came by the table again. LOL We had to wave someone down to grab our cake for us from the back. The food dishes we ordered were decent both in presentation and taste. Nothing really stood out and the flavors were regular. If I had to choose, the little taco appetizers we had were probably the best we ate. The drinks though were very good. The Yukitini in particular was strong and not too sweet. Loved it. I'd go back here again and again for their lunch special, just not for the Korean chirashi or the volcano roll - that just about sums up our almost daily visits over a week recently. I love that the menu stays the same throughout the week and we can have the lunch specials even on the weekend. And the bulgogi, salmon, and spicy pork don were all pretty phenomenal as I could tell they paid careful attention to every element. Service is quick and no frills until they bring out the meals, after which we typically didn't have anyone checking on us until we asked for a cheque. I'm always trying to find new restaurants to introduce to my picky parents when they are visiting me from out of town. I had seen and heard good things about Yuki Izakaya on social media so we stopped in for lunch on the weekend. The interior is gorgeous and borderline upscale. I felt bad dressing casually for lunch but there is no dress code (well at least, everyone else was dressed casually). Definitely take the time while waiting for your food to check out the decor! The lunch specials were a little more limited last year but looks like they've definitely improved. My mom was a bit disappointed when she ordered the rainbow roll and only got a roll. She also tried the spicy tuna tostada (basically tuna poke tacos) which actually did have a bit of a kick. My dad and I each ordered a different "Don", which turned out coming with a personal tray of various banchan. I got the Chirashi and my dad got the Unagi. Both were fresh and delicious. I came here for lunch and got their bulgogi roll - one of their baked rolls. It was delicious and there was a decent amount of bulgogi on top of the rolls. I also go their mala brisket ramen. It came in a larger bowl than I expected which is a plus. The noodles were good, but the broth felt a little bland to me compared to other mala broths I've had. Their sushi though was amazing. I've always had great experiences at this place! The service here is awesome and the servers are always so accommodating and nice. The ambiance itself has such a classy feel to it, but the pricing does not break the bank at all. The food is prepared quickly but the quality and presentation of it is not lost. Only thing we were expecting were banchans (side dishes) that usually come at every korean restaurant we eat it at. We figured since it is a fusion place, they decided to opt out of that. I've been here before, a couple of times. My previous review(s) still hold(s) true. Today, we got the Aurora rule, the Jessica albacore roll, the super crunch roll, and an eel roll with crunchy Panko added on top (extra charge). Starters, we got pork belly skewers and karaage. You can never go wrong with Karaage- delish! Crispy and served with a little Mayo and cabbage salad and some ponzu. Yummy! Still a solid place to go. Just don't get the chef specials for your sushi. Itadakimas! The grub is good but I wished they were more of an izakaya. I was hoping to see a bunch of downtrodden salaryman drowning their sorrows, but .. nah.. just a regular restaurant with japanese food. So my search continues for that one authentic izakaya, .. small , cramped, and the wise old master over the grill... The grub is good. If we are in the mood for quality sushi and other Japanese/Korean dishes, this is where we usually end up. The interior is lovely and has date night vibes. The restaurant is very clean and the staff wear masks. The service is top notch and it's hasn't been very busy the times we have visited. The sushi is what really shines here. The rolls are amazing and the fish is extremely fresh. I would recommend coming here for the lunch specials. It comes with many side dishes, salad and miso soup. Everything tastes so good. Just at the start, it is important to know that the online menu is different from the in person menu. Some items are either unavailable or under a different number. The service is very nice. They make sure everything is okay and will not get mad if mistakes were made while ordering. The ambiance is very nice as it feels like a lovely place to be in but is not noisy at all. The atmosphere looks fancy but is actually casual food wise. The food may be more pricey than others but they give a lot of food which makes it up. The food is not bad, but is not anything amazing. It's something I would go get if I was really hungry and just wanted something to be full on. The service was excellent. The ambiance was beautiful and lively, but also spacious and clean. During the time, my mom and I went around 3-4pm on a Friday, it wasn't busy. They had parties of 4+ as well as couples. I loved the interior design, it looks a bit upscale but it's more casual dining. It can be more casual formal, if you want to celebrate it that way. Your choice! The food was okay We had the: Yaki Udon 2.5 Sweet and Sour Pork with sweet rice coating 3/5 Seafood Pancake 2.8/5 I was sad that they didn't offer sushi anymore. The first time I came this year, they had offered it. But currently, they don't. That isn't the reason it gets 3 stars though! I've had Korean food that's just more to my taste. The Yaki Udon wasn't our favorite. I think it was suppose to carry a Chinese-Korean flair, it did its job, but there is no meat in this dish. It was sweet but very very savory/salty. The Seafood Pancake was crispy at the bottom. They had a lot of octopus, small shrimps, and that's all the seafood. I tend to order this from other places. So I'm a little more selective when it comes to this dish. The batter used, was very very thick. Other places, I've had, has clams and/or scallops added. Lastly, the Sweet and Sour Pork with sweet rice coating. It was okay. The portion was a bit small. The sauce is placed in a different bowl for a dipping experience and you get to add more vinegar. The sauce had carrots, zucchini, wood ear fungus, and I think that's it. The pork was crispy. This dish came with a side of black bean paste, raw onions, and danmuji (pickled radish).
