I have been to the Decatur location many of times. And since this is location is super close to where I work. I decided to drop in with a coworker. She never tried it before and she was thrilled to try a new place since I found out she is a foodie just like me! The food I ordered was the General Tso with an Indian twist. I got it mild but I love spicy so I should have got it, hot. Definitely will keep that in mind. The food was 5/5. The service was exceptional. I can honestly say, I felt like I was home because it was the 2nd mile service. We ordered to go but decided to eat so he brought over paper plates without us asking. 5/5 for just thinking and asking us questions. Also he was very attentive! Been going to Chinese Dhaba for years now and since moving out of state and coming back, I had to come back for old time's sake and I am so excited to say that Dhaba's still got it. The service is friendly, the space is well-maintained, and the food is AWESOME -- still hits the spot to this day! Bullet Chicken (medium spice) and Triple Szechuan (also medium spice) are my go to items, but be warned, if you're not good with spicy, maybe go mild because both have a pretty strong kick. I've had the Chicken 65 and paneer before, and while both are great as well, I still go for the two previously mentioned items. Definitely looking forward to coming back to Dhaba, 100%. read more

Visited the first week of January.. The food is more Indian than Chinese (in terms of spices) but the food is a fusion of both cuisines. I thought it was alright but my family seemed to love it... What I REALLY HATED was when we were leaving the restaurant, 2 desi morons who were waiting for their to-go order were 7ft from the entrance, leaning comfortably against the rail, smoking cigarettes and spitting in the vicinity of patrons exiting or entering.. Thanks to my wax technician (don't ask) and my Pakistani bestie, I found Chinese Dhaba in Duluth. I had eaten it as takeout before. Even so, I hadn't known exactly what was ordered and what my favorite dishes were called, but my friend made sure I ordered the bullet chicken. This was first experience eating Indo-Chinese food and I'm loving it. The restaurant interior was a bit dark and drab. It was empty aside from some people getting to-go orders. Seems like the popular thing to do - I wish there was a location in Dunwoody or the surrounding area that I could do the same! We walked up to the register and ordered the bullet chicken and a dessert, too. And my God, the chicken was so good. It was like a better version of sweet and sour or orange chicken once it's been drenched in sauce. The marinated fried chicken was delicious and went well with rice. We literally ate every onion and piece of chicken on the platter. My friend also ordered a dessert, the Shahi Falooda - I'm not sure I was a fan. It was some sort of sweet condensed milk dessert with glass noodle (vermicelli) soaking in the melted ice cream mixture. The slimy al dente consistency and the sickly sweet rose syrup on time was a bit much. The nuts were a nice touch - but not enough to turn my perspective on the "treat". Would not recommend... I took advantage of a Grubhub "perk" that offered $10 off if you ordered more than $30 worth of food. Since I live in a "very difficult to locate specific buildings" apartment community, I chose to go take a ride and pick up my meal. It was about a 10 minute drive from where I live, and having moved here recently it was nice to see other parts of the area that I have not yet been to. I ordered some items that I normally wouldn't order, to try them- as well as some classic Chinese dishes that I enjoy to make sure I was going to be happy. This is a very unique concept, one that mashes up what is considered mainstream Chinese here in the US with a SE Asian flair and spice. Starters: 1) Chicken Samosas- they gave me an extra one so bonus points there. These aren't your typical deep fried crunchy cone shaped samosas, I think this was more phyllo dough triangles wrapped with cilantro, chicken, and other spices. My order came with several sides of different sauces- I'm sure one of them was for this dish because it was a little dry. Still, quite tasty. 2) Cheese Corn bites- There is 8 to an order, and these are like the shape of a gumball. They were fried well done, so crunchy on the outside and creamy and cheesy on the inside. I wish they were larger, so the textural juxtaposition (Bonus big word used here...) would be more apparent. But these are delicious. Also, unsure if any sauce was to be used with this but it's pretty good on its own. 3) Sweet Corn and Chicken Soup. I got the 24 oz, it came in a paper container with a plastic lid which was actually surprising. I like the idea of recyclable packaging, and there was no leakage or spillage. The soup was good, salty and got its thickness from most likely a cornstarch slurry. Plenty in the 24 oz size, so I had leftovers. 4) Crispy Chili baby corn- this was something that I never would have expected to order, but I went for it and it was a healthy portion for sure. Every dish came with spice instructions. I generally think I can handle spice (this is a more recent development with my palette lately) but medium spicy is pretty HOT. I ate a few of these (they are bite sized pieces, not full baby corn like in the movie "what about Bob" with Bill Murray) and I was needing some spice relief quickly. I drank a ton of water, which was more indicative of the spice vs the salt level (I think). Plenty large enough to share with more than one person. 5) Dry Chicken Bullet- I thought this would basically be like popcorn chicken, and it was pretty much the same type of look as the item above (Baby corn). The only way to tell the difference is to pop one in your pie hole. Also, the spice level at Medium Spicy was HOT...I saved most of this dish also, as it's just me and I didn't want to overindulge. My eyes were bigger than my stomach over the weekend apparently. 6) Curry Fried Rice- I went with beef as my protein and it resulted in a $1 upcharge, but since my final dish I chose chicken because I wanted to mix it up a bit. This is a large portion, and these are not small chunks of beef in the dish. Larger pieces that many people would choose to cut further before eating because they are not bite sized. This is a robust dish- also chose Medium Spicy but expected this to be hot and it was perfect. Over time, I have become more adventurous when it comes to curry as I want to understand the different types and styles from country to country- this rice was pretty dry, it wasn't like using your standard Asian or jasmine type stickier rice. Just a point of reference. 7) Garlic Fried Noodles: these noodles I chose chicken to mix it up. Also a very healthy portion and resulted in a TON of leftovers. The noodles are very thin, almost like you would expect with a Singapore Rice noodle type dish. This was also pretty hot at medium spicy, so I will be sure to play around with my levels if I order another time here. Tasty dish, but on the dry side as well. The restaurant wasn't busy as they don't offer dining in at this time. Looked very clean, and they were ready with my food within minutes of my arrival. I would say that not knowing what kind of sauce goes where was a little confusing, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Overall, the spiciness of the food may drive some folks away- but I would start with mild or just above mild and see how that treats you before you go all gangster with Medium Spicy and burn your taste buds out. If you like Spicy- this is a place for you. Unique and different flavors, I like their concept and apparently I'm not the only one since they have 4 locations. My fridge is FULL of leftovers, so I expect I'll either be eating this for the next week or so- or I'll just give it my best shot and then move on. Apologies for not having any photos for this review. When I picked it up, it took me about 20 minutes to get home (Made a quick stop at a gas station) and then by the time I got home some was soggy. Chinese Dhaba is an Indian Chinese place in the center and a place she loves. This is the real deal! Chili paste on the table, cold drinks in the cooler, this is a stand and order to go or eat in. No booze which is ok For a spicy fix, this was great food at a good price. Served on paper plates- the thick ones- we had a beef entree , pile of white rice and chicken chili in a bowl that was delicious. She really came for the noodles. Spicy chicken, excellent texture, a lot of food. She was sooo happy and we sat and talked and could barely make a dent and ended up taking 2 plates home. I ordered the chili garlic noodles which costed about $9 with tax and the quantity can feed 2 easily! The crispy chili shrimp was spicy and had a good kick to it! Ordered their bullet chicken too, but I felt the base of the masalas were the same and didn't find it as good as the shrimp! Please note that the shrimp comes tail on. Showed my Yelp for the 10% checkin discount. The manager wasn't exactly aware of this promotion and it took a while for them to process it but they finally gave it. I've been dying to try food from here because the menu looks so delicious. I got the triple Szechuan with chicken. Regrettably I was unimpressed. The dish was so soupy and lacked flavor. It was supposed to be spicy and had some peppers in it but the taste just was not there. They give you a little bag of wontons to sprinkle on top I guess for texture bit it wasn't enough. I really didn't not like this dish. There were some kind of thin noodles in it. Hubby said his was okay but he thought it was going to be spicer and more a more complex flavor profile. Hubby also got the chicken samosas and these were not good either and I LOVE samosas. They were bland and the meat was super diced up. We had the spicy cauliflower appetizer and although the presentation was rough, it tasted really good and was seasoned well. My daughter's veggie lo mein was good but it's hard to mess that dish up. Spring rolls were okay. I would love to give them another chance because so many things on the menu sound so good but I'd stay away from the triple Szechuan and chicken samosas. Went there and ordered some takeout. I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken and garlic potatoes in hot dressing. Now the potatoes are french fries in the most delicious spicy and addictive sauce. Price is amazing for what you get and it is very satisfying. But reason why I gave a 4 star is simply because I ordered my noodles with chicken and I was given a vegetarian one after paying for the chicken. And that my friends is a no no in my book. Chinese Dhaba is my family's favorite Sunday lunch spot. We come here at least once a month. If you're a lover of Indian Chinese, Chinese Dhaba is the place to go. This is one is also a great location compared to the one at Global Mall. It's a more intimate and comfortable atmosphere. It's in the plaza on Breckinridge Rd and Old Norcross Rd that has a bunch of Indian stores, ranging from Indian/Pakistani clothing stores to Indian /Pakistani grocery stores. There's plenty of parking in the area. The restaurant is small, but it's very nicely decorated and it's very clean. We always have a big group of people whenever we go. They are consistently helpful by making a enough room for us to sit each time we go. So at Chinese Dhaba, you always order at the cash register. And then you grab a seat and they'll bring the food to you. You pay at the cash register when you're finished. So it's not a sit down, fancy type of restaurant. We always order Lollipop Chicken, Bullet Chicken, Pepper Steak, Chicken or Shrimp Spicy Schezuan Fried Rice, Hakka Noodles, and Veggie Manchurian. White rice comes with some of the dishes. I will say that the only thing I don't love about Chinese Dhaba is that that they tend to use the SAME sauce on everything they cook, minus the Pepper Steak and Veggie Manchurian Balls. It's a great flavor, but I wish they were more creative.l with their dishes. My favorite dish is the Pepper Steak. It seriously is so good with some white rice. They have this jalapeño chili blend that I love to eat with it. I'm a lover of all things spice, so give me all the spice! The staff there is always very kind to us. I also think that prices here are very reasonable. There is always a large portion of food and we aren't ever able to finish it all. So it's a good bang for your buck. Seriously, the only downside is that I don't like the sauces being used in most dishes. However, the food is really good! Remember that Indian style Chinese food is different.
