This is a really authentic Korean restaurant for comforting Korean classics. You know the restaurant is good when it is bustling during weekday lunch and full of Korean people. I came during lunch on a weekday, so I ordered off their lunch special menu. Their lunch menu is really good value, and the food is delicious. I tried the beef tartare bibimbap, and all the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed my meal here and it reminded me of back when I was visiting Korea.

Haejangguk. Perfect. Falls off the bone effortlessly.

I pass by this place pretty often and always meant to try it. It used to be the old Myung Ga Won restaurant years ago. I don't remember for sure when that one closed, or when this one opened, or if it's different ownership. The inside is organized well. I like the seating arrangements as no matter where you are seated, it's easy to get the attention of staff (if you're like me and don't like using table buttons). Nice quality tables and chairs. Everything is sturdy. The staff is very helpful, courteous, and friendly. I only tried 3 dishes, so I can't speak on the entire menu, but from what I tried, this is probably now my favorite korean spot. Factoring in quality of the dishes, service, and price, it's pretty hard to beat. The Mul Naengmyeon was refreshing and well balanced amongst sweet, tangy, and acidic (acidic if you like to add vinegar) The Haejangguk was loaded with meat. Most places I've gone to will only put a little bit of meat in this soup. It was extremely tender too. You can cut through it with chopsticks. The soup flavor was an enjoyable level spicy and peppery. Perfect. The Beef Short Rib Soup is basically the same as mentioned above. Generous portion of meat in the soup, tender, sweet, and the soup itself is spicy. 5/5 highly recommend if you haven't yet.

The restaurant is so spacious with two floors. The menu is made of good quality paper, durable, thick, and shiny. Welcome greetings and great service. My party ordered the beef tartare bibimbap and spicy pork hot stone bibimbap. Lunch portion also comes with a small cup of soup. The food was so good. There were 6 banchans all delicious. The menu selection was great. I will come back to try more.

Great spot for Korean comfort food! The Pork Backbone Soup and Army Stew Hotpot with Ramen were both hearty and perfect for cold weather. The Seafood and Green Onion Pancake was super crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. For BBQ, I'd recommend the Marinated Galbi--it had the perfect sweet-savory balance, and the meat was grilled just right. Portions are generous, everything tasted fresh, and I'll definitely be back!

-yi si soup is good but recently I've noticed that the quality isn't consistent? Sometimes it's perfection other times I'll find pieces of bone in the soup and it'll be overly oily -seodae (fried fish) is soggy and not fried well -good assortment of banchan and I like how it changes every time -good lunch/weekend specials but it seems like that's the only thing really going for them -decently clean -staff somewhat rude depending on who's working -it's an okay place to go if you want Korean food but don't know exactly what you want since they have a variety of dishes

Beef set had small portions but quite pricey compared to other meat sets in the duluth area. Meat quality and sauces were just okay, nothing amazing. The servers were a bit slow but nice people.

Excellent Korean BBQ! Both unmarinated and marinated galbi were great. Good service and plenty of banchan too

The Caramel Macchiato was definitely on the sweeter side, but it paired surprisingly well with the savory takoyaki. I do not feel as though downtown Duluth truly captures the amazing food scene of the city, but again, an old friend did like it enough to tell me about it. Inside was pretty spacious. High ceilings and bright. You have to go up front and order, and they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Pretty standard so far. It's not too loud, even with the music playing in the background, so not bad for hanging out with friends after the food is done, though we didn't. We were all pretty disappointed with our food. It wasn't bad, thankfully, it was just meh. We could've literally drove 5 minutes away for better, so we left as soon as we finished. The good thing is you get to choose what protein you want with your dish, which is nice. However, the chicken katsu here is thin. Also, the K-Fried chicken doesn't really mesh with the pasta. It's like a skewer on the side of your main dish. You can eat them separately and be happy enough. I was ok with the bulgogi, but I would've expected better from a Korean establishment. I haven't tried every single protein option, but I won't lie, tofu in pasta isn't the most appealing to me. For the main dishes, it was pretty bland, especially the omurice. You need the egg and the protein for flavor. The Schezwan pasta wasn't even spicy. At least the carbonara was creamy as it should be.

Just a heads up so others don't get confused like I did. The place was pretty busy, which made it feel like a popular spot. The atmosphere was nice and everything looked clean and well kept. Even though it was crowded, our server was very friendly and attentive. They cooked the meat right at the table, which made the experience better. The fried rice (볶음밤) they made on the grill at the end, especially with the pork belly, was honestly the best part. Overall, really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.

My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table.
