My friend took me here for lunch. The service was great. Food was delicious. Ambiance gives me lunch time at the office with private booths so thats even better. They have the spicy raw crab ban chan! First time trying it and it was wow yummy! I can't wait to come back again.

The food here is delicious and comforting, and the space feels homey and traditional with privacy walls between tables. They have some stew dishes that I haven't really seen elsewhere, like the black goat stew and the braised baby back ribs which were both hearty, meaty, and flavorful. Just ordering those two was enough for a group of 6 so its really worth the price. I was also happily surprised that the side dish comes with a portion of spicy marinated crab. I will definitely be back when I'm craving a really hearty korean meal!

Felt like Korea being here with the auntie vibes and just she sheer authentic taste of the food. The side dishes were great, they even had spicy marinated raw crab as an option! The aunties were so sweet to my baby girl, commenting on how much she was enjoying the side dishes. A group of 4 of us shared: - bossam: comes with the standard cabbage, side of ssamjang, sliced garlic and pepper and my favorite salted shrimp sauce. The meat was THICK and definitely fattier than how we usually make it at home - naengmyeon: one of our favorite dishes. The cold broth tastes homemade and honestly, didn't even need too much of the vinegar and hot mustard. They give a generous amount of noodles with the sliced radish and beef topping. Sooo good, would get again. - bone broth soup: standard, can't rly go wrong but I think there are other dishes on the menu worth trying - braised cod: WOW. A huge serving and definitely shareable. The cod was moist and the sauce was amazing. Spicy, savory but not overly done. The mushrooms and the radish at the bottom of the dish soaked up all the juice and made them so good. I highly recommend this dish - stone bibimbap: we usually don't get this bc it's almost like a basic dish but for some reason we were craving it. It comes in a flatter stone plate than the classic bowls but it made the bottom rice super crispy. Not too much meat but overall pretty good! Definitely was too much for us but we were ordering from how hungry we were! I want to come back and try the other signature dishes

Typical Korean restaurant vibe with some private dining areas. Chung ki wa has a lot of uncommon Korean dishes such as the rib and soy marinated crab. We tried the viral rib and soy marinated crab and it was pretty good. The service was very great. I highly recommend everyone to try out!

We were looking for another Korean place that opens later than 8pm and stumbled upon this restaurant. The dishes are flavorful and they also have marinated raw crab as a banchan. Our favorite dish is the galbijim. It's flavorful and not very spicy. Most of the dishes we've had have been great. The only one we do not like is their seafood pancake. It's soggy, greasy, and their dipping sauce is bland. We've been here a few times and service is a hit or miss. The latest was pretty bad. I had to constantly looking for our waitress and they were impossible to track down. They did not check up on us and didn't bring any banchan until our food was ready.

12/10 from hospitality/kindness from the waiters, taste and quality of food, and just the overall experience. I went on a Sunday for lunch and although it was packed, my wait was less than 5 minutes. The banchan had crab which was a pleasant surprise! My mom, who grew up in Korea, approved of all the food and said it felt authentic and reminded her of home! We will definitely be going back!

The name of this place is chung ki wa, if you're looking for it on the map, the place only has the Korean name on their banner. Love this spot for good hearty soup! Came on a Thursday night and they were actually pretty busy. The menu is pretty extensive and there are lots of items to choose from! We got the spicy pork bone soup and the spicy cod fish soup. The portions were hearty and filling. The cod fish was fresh and tender, although there were lots of bones so just be cautious when ordering this dish. The pork bone soup was flavorful and spicy. I love that the rice that came with the order was the purple rice since it's pretty healthy. They also provided many banchan dishes. Not many places give out the raw marinated crab, so we were pleasantly surprised to see that. The service was pretty quick and nice. Server came back to refill our drinks and ask us how things were going despite being busy. Overall, love coming here for soups and can't wait to try their other dishes.

Chung Ki Wah/ Chung Ki Catering is located in the old Barnes and Noble, Old Navy, Toys R Us plaza on Pleasant Hill Rd. Chung Ki Wah serves home good traditional Korean food. Place is not fancy but has a nice homey and cozy feel which to me are the little gems that serve up some good food. They also serve up catering options. Ingredients are fresh and banchan are tasty. In my recent visit the number of Banchan plates were less variety than in the past. We love the "keh jaang"/spicy raw blue crab here. They give it to you as a banchan. Our server was a little stingy on refilling our banchan one time. She was only giving us a few refills and then we had to ask for one or two more on the serving tray she had. Felt like we were asking "Siri may I have more porridge..." She said that they are running low and to make sure we eat all of it. Lol. How can you run low on banchan when you opened for the day for about an hour? I was a little put off but had to laugh a little afterwards as it was just like an Aunty saying that to me. I will still be back for the good home cooking comfort korean food. Check them out if you want to go get some Korean food that would break the bank and serve up some good soups and stews.

Very authentic Korean food . Menu written in Korean only, no English words. We just look at what others had and order. We ordered a big fish dish turn out was very good and we never tasted this dish before. Service is very good as well.

This place used to be just a catering place BUT it is now a restaurant as well. Keeping that in mind, the inside of the restaurant doesn't look like a restaurant. In all honesty, it looks really ratchet, but don't judge a book by its cover bc the food was pretty bomb. My great aunt had recommended this restaurant for an early Mother's Day meal (Bc she into that real authentic Korean food; naam sayin?). Anyway. Like I said before, the food was A M A Z E B A L L S. It was true authentic Korean food that you can really get anywhere else, with the exception of Jang-su Jang and maybe a couple of other restaurants. Price point was equally A M A Z I N G. For the portions, it was well worth it. I think the most expensive thing on the menu is like $18 bucks and it's a stew that feeds up to 4-5 people. Although it says it's a catering business, keep in mind it's also a restaurant as well! Try out the food. Once you try the food, you'll forget you're sitting in a ratchet setting. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because service was INCREDIBLY slow; almost non existent. I had to get up 4-5 times to go and ask for things. But it was hard to get super annoyed bc it's the servers are all middle aged women and there's only like 3 of them trying to feed an entire restaurant~~ I recommend!

I ate here last night. 2nd time and each time with my parents. I loved all the food, the ssambab was delish and the dwaenjang ssamjang is SO YUM, their own special recipe~ my favorite food is gaejang (spicy raw crabs) and they were nice to give me a 2nd plate of them (gaejang is expensive and most restaurant don't even serve them, let alone give you a second helping). Also in my opinion, their naengmyun is waaaay better than another unmentionable naengmyun specialty restaurant lol So I definitely would recommend this place~

Surprisingly, craving this got me to come back a second time. The Fire Chicken Omelette Ramen had the same presentation, but Buddok ramen instead of sushi rice. Disappointing, because I could have just made Buddok ramen at home. The Schewan noodles were not spicy nor tasty. Takoyaki was good, on a bed of potato fries. Would order again. For the Beef Bulgogi Cheese Fries, the bulgogi is good, the fries are not. These fries are from the frozen section at Costco, make no mistake. They are bland, 2/5 star fries. Even if the bulgogi was on top of better fries, the bulgogi is dry and the cheese on it isn't melty or saucy, so the fries and the topping don't mix together well. Just a pile of dry food.

Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. This time, I brought my friend who has never had Korean bbq before for her to try. We went right when it opened so it was quiet. I told the server it was her first time and he was eager to explain everything to her. I don't think she was prepared at all what was about to grace our table He brought out a cart full of side dishes and start to explain what each one is along with the flavor profile. When he got to the scallion salad, she was just not loving it, but he told her to at least try and see what she thinks (don't knock it til you try it!) Then he said they're still getting the charcoal ready so it'll be a few more minutes and my friend's eyes just (like what?) So we start with trying a bite of all the sides. She enjoyed everything except the sliced onion salad. Surprisingly, she loved everything else, including the scallion salad! She's a texture eater, so I was weary of her trying the tofu, but she really enjoyed that too! So... the charcoal comes out, and she's just Then the server brings the grill with the cheesy corn, spicy bean sprout, and he poured in the eggs. Followed by the meats! Since she didn't really know what she likes, I made a few suggestions and the server suggests letting him bring us the most popular items first and we can work our way through the menu. What a great idea!! Started with brisket and ribeye and wow ... meats were fresh, paired with the sides, and the dipping sauces, it's just chef's kiss!! We then had bulgogi and pork belly and those were just bursting with flavor! The cheesy corn was good but burned too fast on the grill, the spicy bean sprouts are amazing, and the steam egg is my favorite . The only downside is that if you don't eat those sides that are cooking on the grill right away they'll turn dry and burned and it won't be as good. The cheesy corn also caused some splattering to our hands when we were cooking the meats. The server apologized for the oil splattering since he heard the squeal immediately soak up the oil from the cheesy corn so the splattering would stop. Overall, my friend gave it 10/10!!!
