Galbi- delicious but small portion for the price.
    Tom S.

Probably one of the best Korean restaurants in the US! It rivals those in LA & NY and even Korea. From the sides dishes(ban chan 반찬) to the mains the flavors reminded me of authentic food I ate at home. We had the bibim neangmein combo with beef ribs and the grilled fish combo with daenjang jijae. Everything was good a bit pricey for the beef ribs combo especially for only 4 small ribs. The banchan was delicious and personally I liked everything they had. Asked for the mixed(purple) rice if you have a choice of rice. It went well with the meal. Whether you are familiar with Korean food or trying it for the first time, you want to eat here for sure. The next time I'm in Atlanta I'm coming here. ATL has some legit Korean food!

$22 for croaker and bean paste stew combo. I got full from the bonchon. I like grilled fish. It was meaty but not particularly flavorful. The bean paste stew with mushrooms was good but I really come here for the sides. The stew was a nice salty counter to the fish. No a single bonchon really stood out to me but they were all equally good quality. My friend ordered the $60 king beef short rib stew. I had a sample and it was delicious. It's meant for two people. The service is good. My cup got refilled with hot tea often. Would I come here again? Sure. It's a trek for me but their quality / price is good.

I haven't been to Jang Su Jang in years, but my friend was raving about how he was craving it. I wanted to give it another try since I don't remember too much from it, but it was delicious this time around. They have their own parking lot, so it isn't hard to find a spot. We came on a Saturday night, and we were seated instantly. The restaurant is pretty big, and I loved that the tables feel private due to the small walls blocking off tables. In terms of food, we got the seafood pancake, king beef short rib stew, daeji bulgogi, and japchae. All of it was delicious. The seafood pancake is probably the dish I crave the most because I love the amount of green onions in it. When it comes to Korean pancakes, I actually prefer kimchi pancakes, but Jang Su Jang doesn't offer kimchi pancakes. I was sad about that, but I was proven wrong on how good a seafood pancake can be. Writing this review right now is making me crave the pancake. My friends really enjoyed the King Beef Short Rib stew, and I thought that was really good too! The friend who wanted to come mentioned that he thinks the vegetables in it were different from last time as he didn't remember turnip being in it (he would've because he very much hates turnip lol), so we think they change the vegetables to whatever is on hand or in season! The japchae was also really really good. We also enjoyed the daeji bulgogi, but it definitely paled in comparison to all the other food. I will definitely return (just because of the seafood pancake alone) soon!

Came here on a lunch break and it was such a good choice. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. The banchan was fresh, delicious, and a perfect complement to the main dishes. Everything felt super authentic. We got the Galbi and the Squid. The Galbi was flavorful and tender. The Squid was also very good, though it could have used a little more squid, the portion felt light. The ambiance was warm and authentic and the whole experience was really enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

    Spicy Soon Beef Tofu Soup

Walked here for lunch. I was craving Soon Tofu Soup. I checked Yelp to see where some was to be potentially where I could get some that could beat the normal place I go to, Seo Ra Boul. The service is really really nice here. Everyone had a smile and the ambience was nice and clean. Soup wise I got the spicy beef soon tofu soup and it was too spicy that I couldn't enjoy it. So my other place wins the soup battle still but I still will be back.

First time here and really pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food is and how fast and kind the service is!! We ordered the Galbi + Sundubu combo and the Spicy Back Rib stew and were surprised with a large amount of side dishes that were all pretty good! They also gave us the option of purple or white rice which was a nice touch. The Galbi was super delicious, it is a thicker and fattier cut which made it absorb the marinade better and the marinade itself was not too sweet or salty but packed with flavor! Again the pieces were pretty thick and they were not overcooked, so were tender and quite filling. The sundubu was good, nothing special but still good. I highly recommend anyone that comes here order a stew, as it came in a massive portion and was delicious!! The stew is not your typical stew covered in broth, there was some broth but not as much as expected. However, the broth again was packed with flavor but still tasted mild, which was very good! We got the spicy flavor and could strongly taste the pepper and spices, but again the flavor still remained mild enough where it didn't feel too heavy. Service was awesome as they stopped by several times to refill our water and banchan, and they were all very kind!Interior is very spacious and clean too! Very good food and definitely coming back!

    Fish roe soon tofu $16.99
    Jaewoo S.

Can't go wrong with this place. Always get the same fish roe soon tofu from here and it is fantastic. It is unfortunate because of high egg price, they no longer offer an egg in the tofu soup but the side dishes that come with the main dish are amazing and always free refills on those. The only downside is the price. $16.99 for the dish but including tax and tip, it will be over $20, so it is on the pricey side. Service was quick and nice. No complaints! Will be back whenever I am in Duluth area.

The inside gave off a Korean traditional house vibe sort of since the inside felt cozy. The vegetable pancake was delicious and the portions were big. There was a decent amount of banchan and there was even purple rice available which I tried it and it was delicious. The galbi and the kimchi tofu soup was pretty good too.

    Galbi
    Judy B.

The galbi is the best I've had in a long time. Not too sweet, not too fatty and good portion size. The only reason I chose 4 stars instead of 5 is that the soup and bibimbap could have been hotter when it arrived at the table. (The Korean BBQ we frequent at home in Greenville SC has both piping hot at table arrival. Yes it takes longer to cool down but the flavor is the best when served hot.)The service at Jang was good and people were personable.

    63. Beef short rib stew (casserole)
    Gina L.

So good!! Walking in transports you away from Duluth (need I say more?). Must start with the complimentary barley tea. Very friendly and motherly staff! Our group got the: 63. beef short rib stew casserole 5/5 - generous amount of short rib, lots of tasty veggies (radish, carrot, kabocha) cooked in the tasty broth 1. seafood pancake 5/5 - seriously the best seafood pancake I've had (including ones in Korea). It was so crispy and crunchy, so tall (almost an inch!). They definitely do not skimp on the oil when they shallow fry this. 48. combo (galbi + tofu soup) mixed soon tofu stew (beef, shrimp, oyster, clam) 5/5 - broth was so rich, a layer of roe at the top. galbi 3/5 - portion size kinda small compared to the rest of the dishes, meat around the bone was sinewy and hard to chew. Flavor was good though. Enjoyed the purple rice, which had flecks of red beans in side as well. Come with a group so you can enjoy as much as you can, family style ~

Outside, Jang Su Jang doesn't look like much but once I walked in, the decor transported me to an old timey Korea! My fiance and I were seated promptly with exceptional service from the moment we sat down. We got some fragrant warm tea with our meals that were tasty. Great for a chilly February afternoon! The banchan was fresh and delicious. We didn't have to ask for more as our lovely waitress beat us to the punch! We were even able to score a little bit of kimchee and cucumbers to go with our leftovers! Seafood pancake: 4/5 Deep dish pancake was a huge, thick and lightly crispy! Sauce was light and went well with it. Bulgogi lunch box: 5/5 Definitely try a lunch box if you're able to. Portions were huge and the bulgogi was tender and flavorful! Love that the side dishes were different than the banchan that came out. Spicy seafood noodles: 3/5 Flavor was good but not as spicy as I thought it'd be. There's lots of noodles and the bowl is massive, it would have been nice to get more seafood. Great experience, prices are very reasonable and staff were very friendly and helpful!

    Soondubu
    Marni M.

This place had popped up on my Yelp account a while ago so I saved it for a rainy day since it's relatively far from where I live. I finally made plans to meet some friends visiting from out of town. The space has private parking with a fair amount of tables. The 2 of them weren't so hungry so we got their Soondubu, 3. Goon Mandoo and Jjamppong. The dumplings were slightly underwhelming but still juicy and crisp. Similar for the jjamppong, the broth was not as seasoned as I hoped but the noodles did seem to be freshly made. There were plenty of sides with a variety of textures, tastes, and colors. Overall, the food wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the drive for me. It seems like it has great potential especially as a mom & pop shop so I may need to try again another time. Staff were professional and friendly though!

Participated in the Explore Gwinnett Seoul of the South food tour and this was our first stop and wow was it awesome. It was great to explore the variety of side and main dishes served and as it was explained to us by the guide Sarah, this was a great example of Korean homemade comfort food. My fav was the seafood pancake and pork belly

Disappointing, because I could have just made Buddok ramen at home. The Schewan noodles were not spicy nor tasty. Takoyaki was good, on a bed of potato fries. Would order again. For the Beef Bulgogi Cheese Fries, the bulgogi is good, the fries are not. These fries are from the frozen section at Costco, make no mistake. They are bland, 2/5 star fries. Even if the bulgogi was on top of better fries, the bulgogi is dry and the cheese on it isn't melty or saucy, so the fries and the topping don't mix together well. Just a pile of dry food.

I told the server it was her first time and he was eager to explain everything to her. When he got to the scallion salad, she was just not loving it, but he told her to at least try and see what she thinks (don't knock it til you try it!) Then he said they're still getting the charcoal ready so it'll be a few more minutes and my friend's eyes just (like what?) So we start with trying a bite of all the sides. What a great idea!! Started with brisket and ribeye and wow ... meats were fresh, paired with the sides, and the dipping sauces, it's just chef's kiss!! The only downside is that if you don't eat those sides that are cooking on the grill right away they'll turn dry and burned and it won't be as good. The cheesy corn also caused some splattering to our hands when we were cooking the meats. The server apologized for the oil splattering since he heard the squeal immediately soak up the oil from the cheesy corn so the splattering would stop. Overall, my friend gave it 10/10!!!
