    Sesame Tofu

The house-made tofu is wonderful! However, we must have came on a bad day; service didn't even give us a beverage, let alone acknowledge us, until I flagged someone down over 20 minutes into being seated at a table.. That shrouded the entire experience for us.

A pretty good traditional Korean restaurant that serves tasty tofu stew. It was quite busy last weekend when we tried this place out and it was recommended by my friend's friend. Service was excellent and they recommended their popular dishes. The side dishes were pretty good, but limited. Portion size and price were not bad. My favorite was the oyster seaweed soon dubu with the grilled mackerel.

Atlanta has a lot of good Korean food, and this place is definitely on the list for tofu stews! I ordered the spicy tofu + egg stew, and it came with crispy stone pot rice. Personally, the crispy rice was a bit too hard and dry, but it still tasted delicious. Stew was great! Pretty comparable to ones I've had in S. Korea, though maybe a tad bit less flavorful. Definitely prepare yourself for a wait if you come on a weekend or busy time, we waited around 40 min (at least Teso is next door so we shopped around!). It was busy inside so food also took quite long to come out, around 30 minutes. However, having the side dishes (banchan) to snack on while waiting was nice.

My husband and I stopped in on a weekend afternoon and were seated right away. The decor is modern with a zen vibe. It's very cute. As soon as we were seated and placed our order, we were served complimentary hot barley tea. Napkins and utensils are conveniently stored in the table drawer, and the servers bring plates, bowls, scissors and tongs as needed. I was a bit unsure why the bowls were provided, but the server explained that traditionally people mix the rice from the stone bowls into the regular bowls and then pour the hot barley tea into the stone bowl. This softens the crispy, slightly burnt rice crust and creates a nutty and savory tea you can enjoy. My husband and I ordered the following dishes: 1. Seafood Scallion Jeon (small size) 2. Spicy Oyster Soon Dubu with LA Kalbi Combo (He upgraded the plain rice to Umami Mushroom Rice +$2.95). 3. Grilled Eel Sot Bap Combo served with a Small Plain White Soon Dubu (I upgraded this to spicy +$1). The Seafood Scallion Jeon had a perfect balance of chewy and crispy textures with a fresh scallion flavor combined with savory seafood. This was delicious and the small portion was more than enough for two people to share. The Spicy Oyster Soon Dubu was rich in flavor and had a generous amount of oysters. The LA Kalbi was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection with a satisfying smoky char. The upgrade from regular rice to the Umami Mushroom Rice for (+$2.95) added extra depth to the meal and was worth it! The Grilled Eel Sot Bap was topped with sliced ginger and scallions, then torched table-side for the final touch of sear. The result was amazing. Overall, both the food and service exceeded my expectations. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a wonderful dining experience.

Very friendly and welcoming service, and the food warms the soul. The LA Galbi was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My spicy sundubu was good too, but it lacked a little depth this time around. I sat alone underneath the tree, which was a lovely spot.

Du Bu Gong Bang is a solid tofu restaurant located in the same shopping center as Chubby Cattle Shabu, Teso, and Sweet Hut. The service we receive is great. The staff is very attentive and respectful. The interior is clean with a very nice woodsy aesthetic. Napkins and utensils are all located in a drawer at each table. Food is super tasty! The menu is extensive and there's good combo options too. * Seafood Pancake ($19.95/Large): Yummy! * Eel Combo w/ Spicy Tofu Soup ($19.95): Very filling. I recommend paying the extra $1 for spicy soup though, the plain one is super bland. Eel is good and topped with eel sauce on a bed of rice. * Galbi Combo w/ Tofu Soup ($29.95): Always a good one to order! * Oysters Combo w/ Tofu Soup ($24.99) All orders come with side dishes (kimchi, fish cake, sesame veggies, etc) and cabbage wraps. Portions are big and definitely shareable. I'm a fan!

Wow...if you want a nice dining Korean style experience, this is the place to be! The ambience is very zen and relaxing. The staff are super nice and helpful. I was seated pretty quick and they immediately brought a pot of hot tea. The air was a bit stuffy as everything was made pretty hot. Luckily, today has been a pretty cold day. It is about 5:28pm and the night is drifting off to the dark. Overall, the price wasnt bad at all for the amount of food you get and I was able to bring some food to go too. I highly recommend it!

One of the best meals I've had in Duluth! We got the soondubu and grilled mackerel. It came with some side dishes, ssamjang, steamed cabbage, and stone bowl white rice. The grilled mackerel was soooo good. So crispy yet tender! Soondubu was really good too. Spicy one had a nice kick to it. You eat the white rice then pour hot water in the stone bowl to make a nooroongji and that with kimchi was so delicious! Highly recommend going here if you're in the area!

This was my second time here - the first time I did not review because I think it was a fluke - service was extremely slow and disappointing on a busy day, our waitress forgot to put our order in so we sat for 1 hr waiting before they realized. They offered one of the cheaper items on their menu - a cabbage dumpling for free but it was not very good nor enough to make us feel better. The second time we were served promptly and service was good. Food is great - the black sesame tofu didn't really taste like tofu but was still good. Fried fish is delicious and so is the soondubu. Pancake is also good. I would give it 5 stars if the service wasn't terrible the first time. Pretty large restaurant and really cute/aesthetic ambiance.

Do Bu Gong Bang has quickly become my favorite restaurant in the area! They make fresh tofu for the tofu soup, and the service and ambience are fantastic! The price is very reasonable as well. The restaurant reminds me of popular restaurants in Seoul! Not to mention you get unlimited yummy side dishes and barley tea! Awesome for the winter weather.

Du Bu Gong Bang is a traditional Korean restaurant that you can go to when craving tofu dishes. From pan fried tofu and perilla oil appetizers to delicious soft tofu soup in various flavors and toppings, this is the perfect go to spot and a pleasant change from your normal kbbq and other Korean restaurants that serves marinated protein sides of beef (bulgogi), chicken (dukgalbi), and spicy pork (jeyuk). Today we had ordered the tofu appetizer pan fried in perilla oil, soft tofu soup with oysters and perilla leaves topping with mushroom rice, and spicy soft tofu soup. The entrees we ordered came with various side dishes that you can eat, including steam cabbage and Korean sauce where you can wrap up rice and side dishes for a mini ssam (steam cabbage wrap). Everything was delicious! Interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, neat, and very well kept. The servers are friendly enough and do their best to tend to all your needs for a near perfect dining experience. We appreciate you Du Bu Gong Bang family for working hard and efficiently to make sure we had an amazing experience while visiting Georgia! This business is conveniently located in a plaza and offers plenty of free parking spaces. They have other restaurants in the same plaza you can try next time as well. Please let me know if this review helped and if you had the chance to dine in at Du Bu Gong Bang yet! Thanks!

My new favorite restaurant to bring my older relatives when they come to visit (don't get me wrong, I love it myself as well, but older Asians are particularly fond of it). First of all, this parking lot is officially a nightmare after all these good restaurants opened up. If possible I try to go during off times, like 3pm. But now to the food. They make their own tofu in house using high quality beans, so the texture is completely different than your supermarket tofu. It's amazing, and I'm honestly not even a big tofu fan. Their tofu appetizers with kimchi are so good. The black sesame is the way to go, I love the seared one with the crispy crunchy outside. I've tried both of their Jeon, the kimchi and the seafood, and both of them are amazing. The seafood one in particular, is honestly the best I've ever had. Crispy, plenty of seafood, and they don't fill it with dough like some places. Both the Mackerel and Galbi are made perfectly. The spicy seafood tofu soup is super delicious, though I'm not sure why they don't include an egg. I'll definitely add one next time, as it's quite spicy and can use the egg to balance it. We've also have the Dubu Jungeol and loved it. Everything is really delicious here, with a simple menu focusing on tofu but plenty of real meat options. Finally, we tried the seasonal dessert, korean street pancake with ice cream and loved it. Amazing restaurant!

As an enthusiastic flexitarian, I love restaurants that highlight plant based protein. We ordered two bowls of soontofu, the stir-fry with squid and the cold soybean noodles. The seafood soontofu was bursting with juicy oysters and was not laden with salt and oil like other restaurants. The black sesame tofu that came with the squid was delicious. I wish they sold it and I could take some home. Unfortunately, the red pepper kochujang sauce for the stir fry was overly sweet. We upgraded one of the rice bowls to include thistle which was outstanding. The restaurant's aesthetic is lovely and clean with high ceilings. Dubu Gong Bang will surely get me through the chilly winters here with their bowls of comforting goodness.

Caveat: This was a Door Dash order. So my main complaints (lobster roll and bun were cold, fries…read morewere soggy) are likely related to the time it took for delivery. I really wish I had gotten to eat it fresh. But my other criticisms are valid! - Connecticut lobster roll: The bun was soft and buttered to perfection. The lobster was a generous portion and very fresh. My only complaint is that it was cold, but that's what I get for doing a Door Dash order with a long predicted delivery time. The fries (which were not crisp, likely due to the delivery time) had zero seasoning. I would have expected Old Bay seasoning or at least salt. My delivery order didn't come with any ketchup either. - Lobster bisque: Interestingly, Door Dash had a promotion for BOGO lobster bisque. But the lobster meat was scant (it was just a big bowl of cream essentially), so I actually threw away the second bowl and didn't finish the first bowl. All in all, I was glad to have tried the food here. I definitely recommend ordering the lobster roll (ask for condiments for the fries!), but don't waste money on the lobster bisque unless they change the recipe (aka actually add lobster meat).

The food was good and most of the meals served had a large amount of food. We were a bit disappointed with the amount of food on the Snapper plate we ordered. It was a $50 meal and other meals on the table had twice as much food and those were half the price. The cake was brought out at the end of our meal with clean plates and forks. I attempted to order the crab and spinach dip with the garlic bread like I typically do at other locations, and my server told me if I were to order it with the garlic bread, it would be an additional charge and I would only get two. I was shocked. I've ordered that and other locations, and that was my first time hearing that I would be charged extra to swap out the bread and then on top of that only receive two pieces. I ordered the Texas redfish pontchartrain with mashed potatoes. I asked if I could add cheese, and I was told yes; however, when it came, there was no cheese, and our server took so long to return, I didn't even bother. In addition, by that time I was already turned off with the bland fish that had several bones, minimal sauce, and overcooked shrimp. I was extremely displeased. I wish I would have just stuck with a fried dish, such as the chicken tenders and shrimp. That would be a safer choice. Both the fried shrimp and chicken tenders were pretty good, but know that they have a kick. The brownie dessert was pretty good. It was actually the highlight of the evening after a disappointing meal. I will never return to this location.
