Xo egg tofu
Amanda C.

Came by for Saturday dinner and it was pretty full but luckily we snagged a seat. We felt a little bit rushed to order as they were hovering over us and asked multiple times what we wanted to order, perhaps their goal is efficiency. Was excited to try the peking duck with buns but were really disappointed in them. They were quite dry - both the duck AND the buns which should be fluffy and moist. Won't be getting that again. They seem to excel in the claypots - the eggplant and xo egg tofu dishes were AMAZING. I plan to come back to try more of them. The walnut shrimp was pretty good but a little too saucy for my liking. I did like how it came with broccoli so we didn't have to order a veg. Overall seems like they have some standout dishes and others not so great.

After a group activity, we longed for some dinner. Someone suggested Bo Bo garden as it can accommodate our large group. This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the dinner for 6 people and all but one plate was cleared. It's hard to pick a favorite as they were all pretty good. The group collectively did not care for the scallion chicken. Everything came out hot and well seasoned. They even give you some fruits at the end. Service was fast but we did have to ask for water. Dinner for 6 comes with: Beef and cilantro egg drop soup Pork chop with Peking sauce Flounder Shrimp with walnut XO egg tofu Black pepper steak Scallion chicken Seasonal vegetables

I absolutely looove Bo Bo Garden! There was about a 2 month streak where my husband and I would go every weekend. Pretty sure they know us by now lol. The service is great and very fast! I typically order the Singapore Noodles, House Lo mein, or some other type of house rice noodle dish. I've also ordered Chinese broccoli and it was fantastic! In a crowded sea of Asian restaurants along Buford Highway, Bo Bo stands out. It also helps that my favorite rolled ice cream place ( ICE NY) is right next door :)

Looking for another excuse to celebrate Lunar New Year, my friends and I made dinner reservations here on a Sunday. There still looked to be plenty of other tables available but they also quickly filled up so I think it's always better safe than sorry. Parking was a breeze since they have their private lot with a fair amount of spots. Decor is consistent with other traditional Chinese restaurants with an even bigger room that they had blocked off, great if looking for a large venue in the area. Being a group of 15, we got the classic 10 course wedding dinner meal consisting of a variety of dishes including Stir fry tofu and pork with chives, Salt n pepper squid, Scallions Chicken, Fried Salted Fish Fried Rice, Egg tofu in sauce, Beef stir fry, Lobster Ginger & Scallion, Butter Cheese, Mexican Style, Hong Kong style, Hot Red Pepper, Pork Chop with Peking Sauce, Peking Duck, and Fried rice to name a few. Some of my favorites were of course the lobster, the egg tofu, beef stir fry, and pork chop. Everything came out in a flash and they were very on top of cleaning off our table and refilling our tea kettles. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Our bellies were full, our cheeks sore from laughing, and we were able to get in and out especially for being such a large group. Bathrooms were pretty clean and the staff were very nice. Would love to come again and recommend others to check them out!

I don't think I've ever been when it hasn't been seemingly busy, though I think they tend to seat people in one area before they open up the rest of the restaurant. Upon entering, it appears smaller than the outside makes it look. However, near the entrance, there are other rooms for seating, some private and some for when the main seating area becomes full. The interior has some decorations many who frequent Chinese restaurants will be familiar with, and there are some fish tanks that showcase the fresh fish they use. The food is pretty good. They have many options, and it comes out pretty quick. I've come here a few times over the years I've lived in Georgia, and the black pepper steak has always been pretty consistent. Their fried options are usually done crispy too, but this time, the tofu (which is my first time ordering it) wasn't fried long enough, so the texture was off. It tasted fine, so we did finish it. Everything else was good.

Came here with a large group for lunar new year and they were so accommodating!! A couple people arrived early and ordered, the waiter told the kitchen to make the food 10 min before the rest of the group arrived so it would still be fresh! Food was authentic Chinese and so good!! 5/5 food - favorite was the egg tofu and spicy fish 5/5 service 5/5 vibes - plenty of parking and classic Chinese restaurant vibes!

Clay pot rice

This is a very tasty Cantonese place in Doraville! It is a small restaurant, and everything about it does look unassuming. But the food is really good, reminding me of a taste similar to what you can get in Southern China. The prices are also very fair, with decent portion sizes. This is also one of the only places I know in the area that has clay pot rice, so if you ever want to try clay pot rice, this is the place to go! I would definitely come again some time to try more of their dishes.

Went for lunch, service was efficient. You're seated quickly and food comes out rather quick. Here's what I liked. Tons of parking, efficiency and food. I love the array of teas they offer and how it's served. The chrysanthemum tea was great. After your meal, your given a complimentary palette cleanser. That day it was oranges. What I wasn't ready for, was the waitstaff. I felt a little watched, not rushed but their presence was constantly monitoring. Also, be prepared, for their accents. Just be patient, they are nice.

Salt & Pepper Pork Chops, Beef Chow Fun and Steamed Rice

This is one of my go to Chinese restaurants. They have great food. They have great selection and they will also make things that are not on the menu. My only negative comment is that they don't have dark meat chicken, which is strange being a Chinese restaurant. The service is what you expect at a typical Chinese restaurant on Buford Highway. The clientele is predominantly Asian, but this place is frequented by many non-Asians. Unlike other Chinese restaurants in the area, this Chinese restaurant charges for extra rice. The atmosphere of the place can either be very loud or normal noise level, depending on how many kids are there.

Maggie H.

Tried a bunch of dishes for lunch. The beef brown flat noodles and fried rice were missing flavor. The snow pea tips were lacking in aromantics. The salt and pepper squid was chewy too. The place was neat and had quick service. It was quick to made and came hot, but water and tea refill were slow.

Our server, Lia, was wonderful--super patient, always smiling, and really helpful when it came to recommending dishes. She took the time to explain options, and her suggestions were spot on. Food-wise, everything hit the mark. The pig ears were surprisingly good with great texture and flavor. The Garlic Bone Marrow Noodle Soup was rich and comforting, and the Herbal Spare Ribs had a really nice, well-balanced herbal taste. Consistently good food, a comfortable vibe, and service like this are why Food Terminal continues to be a neighborhood favorite for me.

It was busy inside, but our party of 10 was promptly seated, though we were a little squished into a circular table. I didn't remember this last time, but instead of telling a server what you want, you mark it down on a paper menu and hand it to the server. This time I got the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodles and the Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp Garlic Noodle. I was really excited to try both since they both sounded so good. Ultimately the Grandma's BBQ Pork Noodle was a little underwhelming - the noodles themselves weren't very flavorful, and the BBQ pork was on the drier side. The pork did have decent flavor, and all the toppings/side items (wontons, fried egg, bok choy) were great, but all in all fell a little short of my hopes. The Salted Egg Yolk Garlic Noodles had better flavor, but I could've used even more garlic and butter. The shrimp definitely carried the salted egg yolk flavor, but the fried batter was a bit soggy/soft in my opinion. I wished it was crisper. Service was a tad slow, but perhaps they're understaffed and/or it was busy that night. I do love the menu concept of positioning it like a magazine catalog - it makes for a fun experience instead of just words on paper

This plaza is also home to the very good Temp Doeloe (check that review) and China Hot Pot (aka Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot). The parking for this plaza is pretty tight but depending on your arrival time you should be able to find a space - might be a good idea to carpool just in case. I attended a meeting here of my regular Buford Highway Restaurant Clawr group - actually we had tried to come here once before but the guy was about to close, so this time we came earlier, only to find that you had to call ahead to get the whole duck (which is what we were the most interested in). This sparse, brightly painted place is more of a butcher than a restaurant - where fans can buy various animal bits like Duck head, neck, feet, wing, tounge or gizzard (similar for chicken), also cuts of beef tripe, stomach and tendon or pork ear, feet and leg. They also have several seafood items like crawfish, river snails and mussels. It's my understanding that this is a particular style of traditional Chinese cooking where the focus is on all the bits that are often discarded in the US. It's for a discerning palate and stuff you might find from street-food vendors in large Chinese cities. For Atlanta this is a way to get flavors you wouldn't otherwise find, perhaps to deal with a longing for home. Thus the clientele is made up mostly of Chinese nationalists. We opted for two very similar dishes (we weren't aware how similar until we got them) - one was a soup with clear noodles and the other basically the same thing without the broth. I thought the broth fairly decent and the bits fairly fresh if very rich. I don't mind tripe, beef stomach, blood sausage and the like but I try to only get it in occasional bites - getting a huge bowl was a bit overwhelming. I think if you're looking for something interesting this might be the place to start - I'm not too sure if I'd have this as a destination. The guy behind the counter was not very engaged, seeming to spend all his time on his phone, basically oblivious to us - I don't think we fit into his typical demographic. The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more.
