    Special Lamb Kabob 5 Pieces
    Andrea A.

We were walking around the shopping complex Crazy Skewers is located in and were drawn in by the delicious aromas! They have a ton of different meat and veggie options. I'm primarily plant-based now, so I had the Stinky Fried Tofu (for the first time!). Crispy on the outside, custard-like on the inside, creamy and salty sesame sauce, topped with delicious chili, cilantro, and spring onions, with a slight fermented tang. My family enjoyed the Special Lamb Kabob, which they said was tender and flavorful. Ambiance was casual, service was relatively fast and friendly. 10/10 would recommend!

Determined to try all of the Chinese BBQ shops in Metro Atlanta to give you the scoop. If you haven't tried Chinese skewers yet, known as 串串 chuar / chuanchuan then you are missing out on an entire flavor adventure of bold spices and heat. We are lucky to have so many non-chain versions to try in the area, so I hope you can become an expert by visiting all the options. Everyone knows the best shop, but I need to try them all to give a definitive answer to which one should take the number one spot. I tried: 1 M10.Double Cooked Pork Slices 锅包肉 $21 - This sauce was not as sour as my favorite place. 2 C5.Beef Kabob (5 Sticks) 秘制牛肉串(5串) $9 - A little tough, but still tasty and a better value than other places. 3 C2.Lamb Cabob(5 Sticks) 秘制羊肉串(5串) $9 - same as above. 4 D8.Fried Peanuts 油炸花生米 $3 - Will skip next time for the price, but would be good if drinking. 5 D13.Shirataki $15.99 捞拌什锦 - Great balanced cold noodle & veg salad that paired well with the other hot dishes. 6 M9.Steam Pork Dumpling ( 12 pieces ) 猪肉蒸饺 $12 - Stand out chonky handmade dumplings. Juicy and not oily, made with love. The skin texture was not as toothsome as I usually like, but excellent quality. Which dish would you try? Located in the Doraville Hmart plaza, such a convenient location. The interior artwork really sets the vibe for the delicious, spicy food you are about to eat. You can order using QR code on your phone with all translations, or order from server. I noticed many to-go customers buying mainly kabobs and their new fried rice menu.

Omg finally checked this off my list - this was my childhood memory and my beloved street food 撸串儿 There were sooo many options. From dim sum to 麻辣烫 to stir fry to bbq. I have to be back I'm in love. Very casual but not too cheap. Soju is bogo Ray was so nice. 同是东北人!

A lot of spicy options for food. Squid was not labeled as spicy but was too spicy for my partner. If you can't handle spice be sure to ask the server to tone it down. Aside from that, everything we ordered was good. We both LOVED the sweet and sour chicken. You order from a QR code which helps with the timing of food. The workers are very attentive if you need anything. There isn't a lot of seating so be prepared to wait for a table but the overall decor was bright and fun. Side note: parking is very busy and hard to get.

Came here because of the smell that was coming from the building. The place is described as a Korean street food where most things are served kabob style. The food is appeared to be cooked over an open flame this smell is all through out the restaurant and can be smelled outside. Service time was appropriate. If you prefer to eat in, they have a few tables inside with enough room to comfortable enjoy your meals / appetizers. This is a place I will definitely be back to try all the different meats. Check them out!

Very no frills place with fun rave music haha. Servers are pretty nice. We tried to through their online menu but it wasn't working. The skewers are pretty decently priced and there's lots of options. Definitely the place to go for decent authentic skewers but not the best skewers I've ever had I will say. I do like that the skewers are charcoal grilled though because it really adds a lot of flavor! It's not a good place for a big group of people though because there is limited seating.

This is the best restaurant in Atlanta and honestly, it's a travesty the Michelin guide didn't name drop them. I've done the Little Bear, Lazy Betty, Omakase Table, Georgia Boy, Southern Belle etc. etc. but this place has the best food of all of them, not kidding an inch. The food is astonishingly good and consistent. We've been more times than I can count, and it's ALWAYS incredible. Their chicken skewer is the best chicken I've ever had, and I'm a chicken fiend - I always go for chicken over other meats. I'll have my "usual" of chicken and a half order of stinky tofu then try something new every time and it's always mouth watering and delectable. Whatever the new thing is, it's the best version of it - smoky, salty, bright, pickley, cheesy, sweet. From the pork belly with sauerkraut to corn cheese - all phenomenal. Would highly, highly recommend the shredded potato cold dish as a respite of refreshing-ness between unctuous and salty bites of meat! My partner loves the lamb, special lamb, beef, and Taiwan sausage skewers so having something cold, sharp, and a little tangy works very well to balance it all out. But no worries for the vegetarians in the parties - there's SO many veggie options. You could eat twelve feasts just based on the veggie options, and it's so varied! It's all amazing beer food, and for sober folks or a sober dinner a Jia Duo Bao works just as well - it's a sweet herbal tea that's absolutely fantastic to pair with the salty barbecue. The stinky tofu I also have to shout out - it's one of my fav things on the menu, only beneath the chicken because that chicken is so trandescent. Even if stinky tofu doesn't sound like your thing I'd still 1,000% recommend trying it. It's some of the best fried tofu you'll ever have!! So crispy on the outside, then inside is this creamy, soft tofu that has its own mild flavour. The sauce on top is funky and delicious, with tons of umami and salt and a little bit of sour - imagine how delicious and mildly funky a good mac and cheese with super sharp cheddar is. That's this tofu, but then adding cilantro and chili on top that make it so refreshing despite the savouryness underneath. Such an incredibly balanced dish with all the textures and flavours you could ever want. It's perfect and unique. Try it and you'll thank yourself later! This is all not to mention the place itself. It's adorable. There's a few tables and we always manage to snag one despite it always being busy enough. It feels homey and real, not manufactured and corporate. I always know they're handmaking the food from scratch, and not just because you can see the kitchen. Also, they have the napkins hanging in bags on the ceiling which is a game changer for food like this. It's so brilliant, I keep wondering why other restaurants don't do that when I go elsewhere. The managers/owners/front facing folks are so lovely and nice. They're super friendly and always happy to answer questions. I adore them and I'm always so happy to see them!! They also sell their delicious spice mix, which is a huge plus! You'll def want to take some home after rolling some barbecued tofu skin in it. They also have plenty of other food outside of shao kao, so don't feel like you have to choose just one type of food. And on top of all of that, leftovers are easy to pack up and take home, and make some amazing food for the next day. Attached is leftover middle street chicken in cold grilled noodles/kao leng mian with their awesome house made spice on top. This place is the best food in Atlanta. Don't pass it up!!

We were seated fairly quick. I would say the service here was lacking a bit in terms of coming to check up on us and even taking our order. We ended up just using the QR code to order. We ordered a variety of items. I would not suggest the tofu skin as they were very mushy. The enoki mushrooms also didn't seem as they were grilled and it was way too oily. I personally thought the seasoning was a bit much but others that I dined with enjoyed the seasoning. I also ordered the spicy rice noodles and the noodles were definitely very overcooked. But I did enjoy the fish cakes and vegetables that it came with. Overall a spot for some quick skewers and I would say definitely better than the other skewer spots on BUHI (iykyk).

Very authentic northern Chinese skewers, 很正宗的烤串. I actually really liked the chicken skewers, 奥尔良口味。很好吃. I totally recommend this place and the owners are so friendly!

It is BBQ skewers place. The Chinese name is China Skewers. The menu includes all kind of kababs range from chicken heart, pork belly, skinny beef, intestines, stomach, lamb, pork feet and more. They also have seafood skewers and fried items. We got the intestines with big round tube. We also got the beef and chicken heart. I like the beef heart. It is really good. We got some grilled corn, lamb kabab and beef kabab. All kababs are well marinated. Flavor are delicious. Service is good. Food comes out at right time.

Party of 7 with split opinions! We had both lamb and beef kebabs (2 orders of each). Each order comes with 5 sticks. The kebabs are thin in terms of the amount of meat. Depending on what you like they are either really well seasoned or overly seasoned. Those who had the beef agreed the seasoning kind of made it taste like chili. The lamb eaters said it was okay. I also ordered beef dumplings and was surprised that it came out in a tray of about 12. They were tasty. The meat was very well seasoned but easily fell out of the middle if not eating with chopsticks. They taste like meatballs inside a noodle. I'd eat them again!

    Grilled Eggplant
    Addy C.

Like their namesake, you definitely want to order the skewers here - you can smell the aroma of flame-grilled meats when you walk in! The space is small, so keep that in mind when planning your visit b/c the place is usu. packed - mostly with Chinese people so you know it's gotta be authentic :) Food is made-to-order and comes out quick. One disappointment is the use of styrofoam plates. I wouldn't call the staff friendly but they are efficient and hard-working. SPECIAL LAMB KABOB - $11.99 (5 sticks) We asked the difference between the "special" lamb and regular lamb ($8.99) - they mentioned the special seasoning. You can definitely taste the cumin and Szechuan flavors - very good flavors but several of our meat pieces were very fatty. FYI I'm not a lamb person at all but I will eat cumin lamb kabobs. I love the flavor of the seasoning. CHICKEN KABOB - $7.99 (5 sticks) This was very good too - dark meat, and on the sweet side. I'd get it again. GRILLED EGGPLANT - $5.99 Several reviews raved about the eggplant so we ordered this too - very good, and loved the garlicky flavor. The texture is soft/mushy, and it's like the eggplant is squashed flat - I'd get this again too. Oh, and it's topped w/ cilantro. BEEF KABOB FRIED RICE - $15.99 We'd skip this one - we had higher expectations b/c it's pricey for fried rice ... but it wasn't anything special, and the beef was very chewy and didn't have any seasoning. At least the portion is good. I actually enjoyed the leftovers better - and I could taste the cumin flavors more. Next time I'd opt for the noodles (vs fried rice) - or just get regular white rice. We'll definitely return to try the other menu items - bacon w/ enoki mushroom kabob, grilled garlic scallop, grilled tofu & cilantro, potato noodle soup, chicken skin kabob, chicken wing kabob, and chicken gizzard kabob.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q…read more Fox Bros. has that hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint feel, but with plenty of space to hang out. There's a bar along with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the overall atmosphere is casual and laid-back. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and gave us some great recommendations, which definitely added to the experience. We went with the three-meat sampler and chose the brisket, ribs, and jalapeño cheddar sausage, with tots and the Fox-a-Roni for our sides. The Fox-a-Roni--a combination of their Brunswick stew and mac & cheese--was absolutely delicious and easily one of the most memorable sides I've had at a BBQ restaurant. The brisket was honestly some of the best brisket I've ever had. It was tender, flavorful, and easily my favorite of the three meats. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was also really good, and while the ribs tasted great, ours were pretty small and didn't have a ton of meat on them. My only real complaint was the portioning of the sampler. We were told that as you choose a larger variety of meats, you essentially receive smaller portions of each. I understand the idea of a sampler, but we literally received one slice of brisket and two-three fairly small ribs, so the portion-to-variety concept didn't make a ton of sense to me. I would've preferred slightly more substantial portions, especially considering how good the brisket was! I also ordered a cocktail, but unfortunately it wasn't really for me. It came across very sweet and mostly juice, although I think that may have been more about the particular drink I chose than the bar itself. Overall, the food absolutely delivered. Between the incredible brisket, Fox-a-Roni, friendly service, and laid-back BBQ atmosphere, Fox Bros. was definitely worth the stop. I'd happily come back--I'd just skip the 3 meat sampler next time and order more of that brisket!

If there was a rub, it was subtle to the point of being almost untasteable. Quarter rack of Ribs: poor. Meaty, but far too tough, definitely not fall off the bone. Again lacking in flavor, and burnt in spots. Side of Mac n Cheese: easily the start of the show. Very flavorful, baked and not swimming in cheese sauce, possible notes of ritz crackers detected. I'd have eaten a main course sized portion, and imagine it could mix well with pulled pork or chopped brisket, should Matt's ever consider expanding their repertoire of meats. Side of potato salad: also very solid. Simple but nicely flavored, just creamy enough. Side of collards: fine but unremarkable. Bbq sauce: decent-ish, more tangy than sweet. Very thick. Packaging : Matt's really could improve here. The ribs and chicken, piled together between two slices of white bread, was wrapped in white paper which was in turn stuffed into a paper bag with the containers of sides. This was messy- yes, bbq is by nature a messy undertaking, but a clamshell container would've made the whole fiasco a lot easier to deal with. A fork and spoon were included, no knife... and no napkins. Really? For a paper wrapped oversauced pile of meat... not even a single napkin? I honestly would've been fine paying an extra buck or so for some better packaging and, IDK, maybe a wetnap. Overall, this bbq lover was unimpressed. Perhaps the rave reviews made my expectations too high. I've honestly had better bbq at multiple places in my relative bbq desert hometown of Boston. I was hoping for a real treat during my business trip to Atlanta; instead, I'm yearning for the joint near my suburban New England home...

What initially brought me in was Atlanta Burger Week, and I ordered their featured burger to take advantage of the special. While the burger was good, the real star of the meal was the smoked barbecue fried rice with brisket. It was absolutely fantastic. The brisket was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. The fried rice itself was packed with flavor and had such a unique, smoky taste that perfectly complemented the barbecue. It is not often that a side dish completely steals the show, but this one certainly did. The atmosphere was welcoming, the food arrived promptly, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. It is always exciting to discover a restaurant that delivers something a little different, and Sweet Auburn BBQ does exactly that by blending flavors and cuisines in a way that feels both creative and comforting. The standouts for me were the mac and cheese, baby back ribs, and brisket. I also ordered the fried rice, and it honestly tasted just like hibachi-style fried rice, so good! The only item that fell a little flat for me was the wings. That said, both my sister and my spouse really enjoyed them, so it may have just come down to personal preference.
