Perfect time to stop and grab an early dinner. Owens & Hull has some of the best bbq I've had in Atlanta to date. We were greeted as soon as we entered, our food was ready promptly. I'm sure this place is normally super busy, we just happened to come at the right time! Able to eat, marvel in the bbq and get back on the road. The space was clean and simple. Only thing, I'm a true dog lover, but I don't want dogs coming up to my table sniffing my bbq. I wish people were a little more cognizant of their pups, everyone is not a dog lover. So as long as you're cool with it, you truly won't have any complaints.

The brisket burger. Mac and Cheese. Coleslaw.

I came expecting to get like a brisket plate or a brisket sandwich, but settled for the brisket burger. The brisket burger was not that good. It was dry and hard and it was not made to order. It came out of a warming tray so it was like warm at best. I got a side of the coleslaw and a slide of the mac & cheese. The coleslaw I did not like it all. I took one bite and that was it. There was no flavor and it was overly liquidy. The mac & cheese was all right, but was a little greasy.

So firstly , the name here is tricky as it appears different on the store front which I believe read "champions"." Nonetheless, I entered meeting a buddy here who say the venue on a tv show. Classic BBQ decor with very friendly service AND a bar attached with some great micro brews ! Typical BBQ as they were out of a couple Items which is expected but nothing crazy . We ordered brisket chopped, a brisket sandwich, ribs and the fixings . Exceptional on all levels - hot , fresh and delish. What's nice is the fact that the bar is a local joint with a couple of pups walking around which was warming ( yes they got treats ). Highly recommended BBQ joint and best I've had in the greater ATL area !

Went on a Thursday to avoid big crowds. There was already a line before opening. I wasn't aware that they offer only a small selection of meats on Thursday. When I asked for brisket the cashier didn't explain that it would only be a brisket burger with cheese and pickles. I did not care for the brisket burger. The pulled pork sandwich was just okay. The chili was a hard pass. The Mac n cheese was good. Basically everything was just okay. You have to pay for parking.

I've been wanting to try Owen's & Hull for a while. We called ahead to confirm they were open since today was a holiday. Thankfully, they were, and my husband and I were able to check it out. When we arrived, the line wasn't too long, but there was a bit of a wait; however, it moved quickly. There was plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. Once it was our turn, we ordered a variety of items. Since it was a holiday, they even had some holiday specials. The person taking orders offered great suggestions, and we ended up getting a 1/2 lb slab of ribs, 1/2 lb of Creekstone Irodori wagyu brisket, one black and garlic sausage, one Austrian smoked sausage with Emmental cheese, a sliced turkey sandwich, and a side of macaroni and cheese. Our meal also included an assortment of sauces: barbecue sauce, white sauce, and a mustard-based barbecue sauce. The food was a perfect 10/10! It was absolutely delicious, and we wondered what had taken us so long to try it. The service was excellent--quick and friendly. If you're looking for quality barbecue, be sure to check them out!

Good barbecue sandwich. Really was hoping to have the sliced brisket. But the day that I came on, Thursday, does not feature sliced brisket on the venue. It's sandwich day. The food was good. And the service was good. I will definitely be back!

Great smoky flavor . Nice inside seating. Lackluster sodas/tea (tried two that were flat before I gave up).

    Turkey cheese bomb sausage special

This place is absolutely amazing! I had the Wagyu burger special and I wish they added it permanently to the menu. I'm also glad I ordered a bunch of takeout because the turkey cheese bomb sausage, pulled pork, and chopped beef were all amazing the next day. The mac & cheese was good but nothing special, but the coleslaw was an unexpected hit and the one thing I instantly wished I had ordered in a bigger size. I don't have enough colorful words in my vocabulary to describe how wonderful the meal was. BUT...there's a big cloud that overshadows this place: My wife and I showed up during what we thought would be a "off peak" hours between lunch and dinner, but we still ended up in a 50-minute long line that snaked through the dining room. I found about them from a YouTube video, and so did everyone else in Atlanta! But when I finally got to the counter, the cashier treated me like I was the only person in the building. Despite the people behind me, I never felt rushed, and both owners still made time to swing by our table later just to check on us. It was then I learned that the odd hours of being closed half the week was because they spend so much time on prep work. Then an unexpected surprise happened when their "hype man" Terrance came by the table. Terrance (and his charming demeaner) has one of the toughest jobs there: he checks what people are planning to order to help see if there's enough inventory and has to deliver the bad news when stuff runs out. They ran out of pork bellies just as I almost reached the cashier. But then this guy shows up later at our table with a surprise sample of delicious mouthwatering pork bellies. Total legend! I tried to convince them to move to Sugar Hill, but they're not budging. Next time I will probably pre-order takeout during their pickup window and hopefully avoid the line, but I'm thankful the YouTube algorithm led me somewhere worth standing in line for.

We had a great lunch here yesterday. The service is excellent. The food is quite good. I was disappointed that they had no sliced brisket for Thursday's menu. I adored that the pulled pork was moist and services warm--it wasn't hot. I love that mustard-based sauce. Enjoy that. It's really good. The macaroni was good but quite salty and the same for some of the meat seasonings. The ribs were very tender and I tastes the collards off of my wife's plate. They were quite good. They would've been better with some cornbread which was not offered. Everything on the menu is a la carte. Keep that is mind. Parking is ample but you have to register your vehicle. They have a fairly large dining room which is shared with the Brewery. It's a very casual vibe. You order at the front and pay then your food is delivered to you like Shake Shack. I'd come back but I'd hope certain things that are salty are less salty.

TikTok led us to another delicious spot. There's nothing like good bbq and we came in on a Thursday afternoon, we ended up trying the amazing brisket burger which is spot on with a side of brisket chili. The burger patty is over 2" thick and perfectly cooked medium. We arrived around 1130 and the line inside was already 20 deep. We were like WOAH , but it was well worth the wait for sure. We'll comeback another day to try their noteworthy brisket that everyone raves about

    Huey with sides.

In a nutshell, the bbq at this place absolutely slaps. Best in ATL, and honestly probably top 5 for me across the dozens of diff places I've been to around the country over the years. Friend and I split the Huey and every single meat was on point. Brisket was by far the standout if I had to pick a fav, but that's taking nothing away from the ribs and turkey. Loved the variety of sausages. They have 2 regular ones and there were 2 specials on this particular Friday. I wouldn't mind more side options but seriously that's not what you're really coming here for. I did appreciate onions and jalapeños in addition to the traditional pickles and red onions. Ample seating inside since they share a space with Reformation, and several tables outside as well and appear to be kid and pet friendly. Appreciate both Robert and Bryan stopping by to check on us and chat a bit. Regarding comments on pricing, I'll just say this having eaten tons of bbq over the years. Good bbq ain't cheap, and cheap bbq ain't good, and this is amazing bbq. It's worth it to me.

Brisket, Cheddar Jalapeño Sausage and Cheesy Grits
    Shawn A.

When you love brisket and you see this is one of the top rated briskets in the country, you get a solid yes from me. The place is in a cool riverfront spot connected to a brewery, thank you sir, I'll have another. The crew was super friendly. They were helpful walking me through what I needed to have Got a 1/2 pond of the fatty brisket. The meat was super tender and full of flavor. The sausage was killer. The cheddar and jalapeño combo was awesome. They used plenty of both in it. Never really a fan of pimento cheese, but I may be a convert after the cheesy grits, come on man! Definitely hit this place and grab a beer from next door while you are there.

First, I sat at my table for 10 minutes without being greeted by any server. When the young lady finally arrived, her demeanor was extremely casual and unprofessional--almost as if she were at home rather than at work. Since I've been to this restaurant before, I knew exactly what I wanted: the half chicken dinner and, most importantly, the muffins, which I emphasized were the main reason for my visit. About seven minutes later, the server returned with the muffins, but they were cold tasted straight out of the cooler. I flagged her down and explained the issue, asking for a replacement and how long it would take since I wanted them before my meal. Her response was dismissive: "What do you mean how long? I don't know." A better answer would have been something like, "I'll check and get them to you as soon as possible." Instead, she said, "It'll probably be a minute." When I expressed frustration, she added, "It will take some time." Ten minutes later, she returned with bad news--they were out of chicken. At that point, I simply said oaky and left. This is not my first time experiencing poor service at this location, and I blame myself for returning. The constant turnover of managers and staff seems to be the root cause of these ongoing issues. Don't visit is my review.

I was having guest over and didn't have time to cook so I wanted to treat them to local BBQ. I explained this to the gentleman taking orders (turns out he was the owners brother) and he notified me of a family meal that I didn't see on the menu. The family meal is 2 half chickens and two large sides. Perfect, I added a lb of rib tips, two extra sides, and corn bread and it was perfect for my little gathering, The food was decent. The rib tips and smoked chicken had a good smoked flavor but not much season beyond that. But the house BBQ sauce was so good to dip the meats into, I like that the sauce is served on the side. Personally, I prefer well seasoned smoke meats. This was not that but the meat and sauce together was a delicious combo. Even my toddler son who likes to eat but is particular with meats ate it up and asked for more. My guest also enjoyed the meal too. Our sides were Mac and cheese, green beans, potato salad, and honey cornbread. I loved the cornbread and green beans. The green beans tasted fresh and were very well seasoned and cooked down in a rich broth. The cornbread was crumby but it had such a good sweet and corny flavor.

The restaurant is a takeout but they have a grass wall for photo opportunities on the Gram. The food: The chicken quarter was seasoned well and tasty. The rice was a bit under cooked and tough. The green beans were done with lots of garlic and sautéed. I liked it but I could see how my son didn't. The macaroni and cheese was underwhelming. There was no seasoning or flavor. It tasted smoky and a bit chalky. The mango lemonade was a hit. Overall, I'd try other plates like the salmon and the Soul Roll. Glad to have some other comfort food options in Cobb as well.
