Decided on the baked chicken plate that comes with rice and two sides. Added a drink - the mango lemonade. All for about $18 plus tax. They only have banana pudding for dessert. Was looking forward to peach cobbler or cakes even. Service counter was pleasant and worked quickly as more customers arrived. The restaurant is a takeout but they have a grass wall for photo opportunities on the Gram. The food: The chicken quarter was seasoned well and tasty. The rice was a bit under cooked and tough. The green beans were done with lots of garlic and sautéed. I liked it but I could see how my son didn't. The macaroni and cheese was underwhelming. There was no seasoning or flavor. It tasted smoky and a bit chalky. The mango lemonade was a hit. Overall, I'd try other plates like the salmon and the Soul Roll. Ok, they redeemed themselves! I've been here a few times since my original review & it's quickly become one of my favorite spots! They're consistently delicious, budget friendly, & the portion sizes are decent too. This is a true take out spot where you order ya food and go. My husband and I ordered the soul rolls...they were delicious!!!! And we both orders the whiting dinners. I got baked beans and potato salad. He got the collard greens and potato salad. We both agreed that the potato salad should've been packed separately because the heat of the plate makes it watery. Other than that small complaint, the food tasted really good! We drove from Douglasville so the drive was about 30 minutes. We will return but probably try different sides instead of the potato salad. They're pretty quick, I only waited for 10-12 minutes which is a plus since I had my toddler with me. There's no eating in, you can only order to-go or for pick-up. The value of my 6 piece wings meal with 2 sides was great for the price (14.99). The wings were kind of small but, like I said, the overall value is great. I ordered the honey garlic and the special sauce with a veggie plate (Mac and cheese, greens, potato salad, and a piece of corn bread). The food was delivered hot, fresh, and earlier than the estimated time. So the service is great for delivery. The wings were a good size and very crispy. These are breaded sauced wings and even though they are drenched in sauce they remain crispy. The special sauce is sweet and slightly spicy, the honey garlic wings are delicious and not as sweet as the special, they kind of remind me of soy garlic wings. The Mac and cheese is not creamy but it is very cheesy and has a great flavor. I think there's a bit of garlic in it. The potato salad tasted store bought, like it came from Walmart. The greens tasted canned but they had a slight sweetness and tang. I would definitely recommend and order from them again for the wings and Mac and cheese. read more

I found this spot randomly on Yelp and decided to try it for lunch. I was blown away at the sensible prices! I ended up getting a veggie plate - collard greens, Mac and cheese, and fried okra. It comes with a piece of cornbread. I ordered online and picked it up about 30 mins later. When I got there I noticed there wasn't much sparkle to the place. No decor on the inside except that good ol random grass wall with the neon sign. I gave the woman my name and she handed me my order. I first noticed how heavy the bag was! And when I got in the car the aroma hit me and it smelled great so I got excited. When I got home I opened up the box to see a nice size portion of everything and it was still warm enough to eat without having to reheat . And! Everything tasted great! The little cornbread was wrapped in foil so it was warm and moist when I unwrapped it. The greens were flavorful, although a little sweeter than I'm used to. The mac and cheese wasn't too cheesy and had those illustrious spiral noodles. And they gave me a generous amount of fried okra which was also delicious! I checked the menu and even though it's not too extensive, almost everything looks and sounds good. Definitely going to make this place my next 'regular' and try other menu items. I had to double back for a 20 piece and some okra and man oh man! They didn't disappoint at all. The sauce was still really good and the wings were cooked to perfection! The okra was seasoned well and held its own weight. These wings have to be on the top of the list for a lot of people. When I went the first time they were pretty busy. I called my order in the first time and waited the second time. The wait time wasn't long and the vibe in the building is pretty chill. The fries had the best flavoring ever with a little spice to them. The onion rings were super crispy and would be better with bigger sized onions. I sampled one wing (these are wingettes not whole wings) with special sauce and I didn't even stop to take a pic :/ so yes, the chicken is excellent. I also really liked the greens, they were super tender and had a deep rich meaty flavor. The Mac and cheese had (I think) pimento cheese in it so it was super flavorful and creamy. The food that I ordered was good . It was my first visit .. I ordered grilled tilapia , cornbread and yellow rice . There were more choices but i try to stay away from fried food and desserts . However, according to other reviews the overall menu has great ratings . The flavor was on point . I didn't have anything over seasoned . The rice was a bit to mushy and my cornbread was soft because it was wrapped in foil and it was sticking to the foil wrap , but it wasn't bad. The reason for the 4 stars was the loud music. It looked fairly clean and far as I could see, but I didn't see the bathroom. The young lady up front accepting the orders was very professional and pleasant. I will order there again. read more

I want to cry because this is 35 minutes from my house, but very much so worth the drive. The restaurant is located in a large plaza and is a cute intimate location. Unfortunately, there's only one table with a few chairs in there for seating -- which means it's really a to go spot. Everything was an 11/10, I would love to know how they do this. I ordered the 6 wings (INCREDIBLE), with the macaroni and cheese, collards and candied yams. AMAZING. WOW. We also got to go orders of banana pudding and that was also amazing.
