I was in the process of eating my lunch when an employee came up to me and notified me that my credit card did not go through properly. So I went back up to the cashier and ran my card again. However, there was a mix-up and I had been confused with another customer. Long story short, I was charged TWICE for my meal because of a screw-up. The manager on duty told me I would be refunded within a few business days (he never apologized for the mix-up or the inconvenience). I've called twice in the last two weeks, and I have still not been refunded. They sent me a refund receipt at one point, but they apparently refunded the wrong card. I've always enjoyed the food here, but the management is just awful. They made a mistake, took over $35 from me, did not apologize, and did not follow-through as promised. I can't believe I had to keep calling and tracking this down. It's baffling to me that you can run a business with this kind of service. I'm sorry, but you've lost a loyal customer. read more

This is just a small, unassuming barbeque spot near us! We ordered a large brisket plate with Mac n cheese & fried okra & 1 lbs of wings (half teriyaki & half lemon pepper) for under $40 which felt like a great deal! My husband, baby and I could've had just the brisket plate and been full without leftovers but with the wings we had lunch for one person It's counter service but they'll bring anything that isn't done immediately to your table They have just a few coke products but they serve beer too and they have banana pudding for dessert There were only a few tables in when we came but mostly seems to be a takeout spot. The brisket was tender & flavorful & we enjoyed it. The Mac n cheese had tons of cheese and my baby liked it The fried okra were cooked perfectly so we devoured those And the wings had a great texture freshly cooked & flavor was interesting but a little too salty for me. I placed my order, chicken sandwich, fries and a drink, and sat back while it was prepared. The wait was very reasonable and the meal was exceptional! Righteous Que is a great spot that I have been going to for years now and will keep going to for years to come. The ambiance is just what you would want from a BBQ joint. It's simple with a lot of tables for small or big groups. The service is always great. Not only is the staff very quick but they are also helpful and very nice too. The food is top notch. I usually get a sandwich but I always get the Mac and cheese. There isn't much that can beat it. In terms of price it's going to cost you more than an average fast food meal, but the taste is much better than a fast food meal. It is great value for some really good BBQ with great side options. I've always been curious but finally stopped by for a late lunch when I noticed it next door to Belen de la cruz when we were there to pick up some empanadas. The bbq menu looked pretty basic and straightforward. I saw them slicing brisket behind the glass so I felt like I had no choice but to order a brisket sandwich. Comes with one side so I got the mac and cheese - but being indecisive as I was, I ended up ordering another side of fried okra. Everyone was super nice and patient while I ordered and took a quick video of the brisket slicing. The brisket was HOT and fresh and my mouth was watering while I watched them hold up the slab to the camera. Overall, everything was pretty tasty for a reasonable price. I prefer my brisket a little fattier/marbled but otherwise it was good. Not the best bbq I've had but a definitely solid meal that I would stop back in for if I were in the area again! read more

Love Love Love Georgia BBQ!!!! At the suggestion of my little brother who lives in Georgia we decided to order enough bbq for a family visit of 13 people. They had everything packaged up in nice serving tins and it was a huge amount of bbq and sides. The pulled pork was super tender and nice and juicy with just the right amount of smoke. Went here tonight for a 1/2 a rack of ribs and received the smallest saddest ribs I have ever had. To add insult to injury half of the ribs were as tough as shoe leather. The food did not match the reviews. Very disappointing. read more

I can definitely see where they get the name. Everything about my first visit was righteous! Counter style restaurant that sells you meat by the ounce, walk up, tell them your weight and what sides and you're eating within 5 minutes of stepping in the restaurant. I thought it was fantastic. The collard greens and the barbecue sauce itself really stood out. Absolutely some of the best I've ever had. I don't know what they did to the collard greens, maybe cook that with a whole pound of bacon I don't know but it had so much flavor and they cook the greens to perfect tenderness that I really might go back just to get those collard greens again. I also got the spicy barbecue sauce and it was the perfect amount of spicy. So when I had a little too much on my last bite I start sweating a little bit but it really wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. There's a little sweetness to it too and the flavor again was fantastic. It had a slight tang but wasn't overly acidic like a lot of vinegar barbecue sauces. . Anyways I also got a brisket sandwich. I love how they give you the option of lean fatty or mixed and the prices here are very fair considering how much meat has increased in price over the past couple years. And they still had a fourth pound brisket sandwich priced at less than $10. Brisket was good. Nothing bad to say. I think they gave me mostly lean and I do like the fatty part more so maybe I should have just asked for that. Since I wrote my first review in 2017, they moved into a larger space in the same shopping center, so finding a table is no longer an issue. Everything else is just as it was: the brisket, mac-&-cheese and Brunswick stew are still first rate, and now I can say that the pork is as well. The decor is very plain, not like most other BBQ places, but the food is what's important. They still occasionally run out of items before closing, but at least they now warn people on the front door that might happen. And they now have a hot sauce option. Stopped by Righetous 'Que when I was in the area. I periodically like to hunt for the best brisket. I don't think I found that, but I still found a very good meal. Prices at Righteous 'Que are competitive. I really wish I saw the Pat Bowl special. Look at the chalk board that is mid-way between the door and the counter on your way in for potentially interesting specials. Instead, I got a brisket sandwich, fries, and a drink. Biggest highlight of Righteous 'Que is the fact that they have Cherry Coke on the soda fountain. I'll one day make a 100% commitment to not being a fat fool anymore, but til then, Cherry Coke is amazing. Food was good. Portioning of the brisket was more than fair. I just wish it could've been more than meat and bread. A sandwich doesn't have to be too fancy. I would've loved two slices of pickles. An empire was built off a sandwich garnished with only 2 slices of pickles. read more

We hadn't ordered barbecue in some time so we decided to try several of their meats. Brisket - we ordered mixed fatty and lean. It was perfect. Every bite to be savored. Chicken - cooked perfectly. It's easy to overcook chicken when smoking. They got it right. Ribs - the bite was just right. Flavors from the rub and smoke not the sauce. Which is correct in my view. In all I prefer a slightly smokier taste, and more spice. This is why I can't give it 5 stars. Mac and cheese was spot on. In strong competition with my wife's and she makes the best I've had. I ordered the veggie plate which is the option to order 3 sides. I also asked for a side of toast. Here's my assessment of each item: 1. Brunswick stew - star of the show! It was sooo good I wish I'd had more 2. Mac & cheese - visually astounding, but the taste didn't match up. This dish had everything going for it. It was the perfect texture of baked mac & had that nice top layer of browned cheese. The issue was there was a lack of seasoning. It could have been as simple as adding more salt 3. Cole slaw - hard pass. Cole slaw has a bad rep but there are bbq places which get it right. This one missed the mark 4. Texas toast - it was only toasted on 1 side which was odd, but otherwise okay Overall I think this restaurant is great at meat but the other stuff is meh. I'm assuming this because my Brunswick street was absolutely stellar and the meat inside was just juicy & tender. I recommend getting a meat plate if you go.
