This food was impeccable! The chicken was crispy and succulent, as my partner says. The candied yams were a game changer and probably my favorite side that they offer. The Mac and cheese was baked casserole style and the cornbread was made well. I haven't found many home style restaurants in the area and this one definitely was the spot. The service was also nice, they were sweet. 10/10 would come here again! Making a review so I don't forget this place!
The food was fresh and great. They bring the best out of chicken without overusing spices. We ordered food at the counter and waited for about 5 min. The order was correct and service was quick. Very peaceful ambiance. Another detail I loved - even though most of the food is fried, there was no oil smoke inside and the place smelled good. Total bill for 3 meals and drinks: ~60$
Cozy is the right name for this place. Needed a good fried chicken joint and this was perfect. Nestled in a corner off Barrett parkway this place was a great find. At first the menu looks too selective but they allow for any combination of food you want (bonus because I can be indecisive sometimes!). We ordered a two piece thigh , 5 piece drumstick and kids chicken bites meal. Sides can include cornbread (moist and not too sweet), fries or a biscuit (was very good too). Just opposite the order counter is a small table stocked with take out cartons, condiments and an assortment of hot sauces and the like. I would highly recommend the trappy's pepper water for a bite more tang and heat but not overpowering. This paired with the chicken nicely. Also ordered the fried okra and sweet plantain on the side. I really like the plantain just simply fried to bring out its natural sweetness but not overbearing. Okra was okay a bit on the soggy side but had good flavor. The seasoning on the crispy skin was perfect and the bite on the chicken itself was wholesome and delicious. Not overly greasy either (this is kind of an oxymoronic statement!) and I quickly polished my meal off. Fries were pretty standard and seasoned well. The best part of this meal was the price. The portions were generous too. All together this entire meal was under 40 dollars. I am intrigued about their wings and ribs so may try these next time.
A fast food place that doesn't feel like fast food... the staff were spot on! I ordered the 4 piece whole wing meal. The chicken is just salty enough to make your taste buds dance and beg for more. My side choice was Mac and cheese- it was a bit of a miss because it was gooey in goopy way. The biscuit was solid and it came with REAL butter.
Exterior They're located just off Barrett Pkwy at the Chastain Meadows intersection. Interior Didn't venture inside - so I can't say. Price / Value I thought the food was a little pricey based on the portion size. Food I thought my chicken tenders were just 'okay.' If I went back, I'd definitely order something else. My brother likes the food and I went based on his recommendation. Customer Service The young lady who took my order was polite, if a bit subdued. Overall This is technically a 3-star, A-okay review. I bumped 'em up a star because I appreciate the fact that they're on the Too Good To Go To Waste app. My brother had a Too Good To Go order there and didn't have a great Surprise Bag experience (five fried wings, coleslaw and cornbread - and he doesn't eat their wings or coleslaw - lol). I'll go back to support any business that's taking steps to reduce food waste.
I ordered delivery for dinner via GrubHub last night. My meal arrived hot and delicious. I love their Cozy Coop Sauce which is similar to Zaxby's Zax sauce. I lathered some hot sauce on my fried chicken. The biscuit was warm and soft. The red beans and rice could've been a little bit better seasoned but the consistency was ideal. My food arrived even a little bit earlier than projected. Everything was delicious and I asked for my chicken well-done which it was.
I found this place on Yelp and thought I would give a try. It is spacious and clean with very friendly employees. I had the 4-piece tender with a side and it included cornbread and a drink for $13.73 all in. The tenders are good sized and are very light crispy battered . The batter is reminiscent of the batter used by captain ds but is much better. They taut they fry in tallow as opposed to vegetable oils . The tase always fine and the main thing for me that they had no crazy spice or excessive salt like some of their competitors have, you know who-Z----s. Their sides are country type items such as collards coleslaw, corn on the cob, yams, fried okra etc. I had the coleslaw. The side was an ample portion and was quite tasty made with a mayo base it was almost perfect but needed a touch of salt in my opinion. The cornbread however I have an issue with but it's just me. It is more like cake than what I was raised on. I kid you not. It is sweet enough that you could ice it , stick a candle in it and no one would question whether it was cake or not. Very similar in consistency and taste to jiffy cornbread mix. It's probably not and don't get me wrong , I gobbled it up. I guess I would not order it again but that is a personal taste issue . "It ain't cornbread "! Oops I said that out loud, sorry. In summation, this is a really nice place for a meal. I will definitely be back and try other items on the menu, that by the way , seems to be priced correctly and maybe a little cheap considering the quality of the ingredients and the care taken to create them. The table print has white paint splotches which makes it look unwiped, but I assure you the restaurant was spotless.
Tried Cozy Coop on a whim and I am PLEASANTLY surprised! I always drive past this place & finally decided to give it a try today. I got the 4 pc tender with Cornbread with a side of bbq sauce and house sauce! Maaaaaan the tenders and fries were FRESH and delicious! The cornbread was perfection and the sauces paired extremely well with the entire meal. The bbq sauce was different, but I LOVED it! The house sauce was great as well! I also ordered a sweet tea & that was amazing too! The service was nice, I went through the drive thru & the young lady who assisted me was pleasant! This place knows good food & I will definitely be back to try other options!! Or maybe just the tenders again! They are so good lol
Super delicious and they have a drive through, this was the perfect meal to get me ready for a nap after getting off a flight.
I was never into fried chicken but the fried chicken here was so good!! They also had fried okra option (to get a little bit of veggie in the system..) service was excellent. Had to get several high chairs and the staff were great! It's a cute boutique location and everything is really clean!

Very friendly and helpful cashier helped me place my lunch order on this sunny Wednesday afternoon about noon. I got the 2 piece dark meat (leg & thigh) with biscuit, fries, and coleslaw. And the crispy chicken sandwich with pickles and sauce on the side. The bone-in chicken had a nice crust with good flavor and were good portions. The coleslaw was a generous portion and good flavor and was the creamy mayo style (versus vinegar style). The coated fries had a good taste and most were crisp, but a few were a bit heavy in oil. The biscuit was a great pairing. The sandwich had lots of meat and a finely textured crust that is smoother than is on the bone-in chicken. The purple decor was funky but comfortable and clean. read more

We just found Cozy Coop today and ate there for the first time, but it definitely will not be our last time! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by Diano and she very graciously, explained the menu to us. I ordered the two-piece white meat chicken plate with coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and red beans and rice along with a piece of cornbread. My wife ordered a veggie plate with collard greens, candied yams, and fried okra along with a piece of cornbread. Everything was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed our meals greatly! read more

Tried Cozy Coop on a whim and I am PLEASANTLY surprised! I always drive past this place & finally decided to give it a try today. Really delicious fried chicken! I loved my two piece dark. My daughter loved her buffalo wings. Cornbread was pretty good. Mac and cheese was disappointing in a too much velveeta sorta way. I would try a different side next time. Friendly staff, plenty of seating, and even a tv on ESPN. I would drive here from North Fulton just to get the solid fried chicken. read more

Good chicken here. Glad i gave them a try! I decided to get the lemon pepper chicken wings a they come with the ranch drizzle( you can request without) however it was really tasty with it and my wings were still hot and crispy. I also really enjoyed the red beans and rice they were seasoned well full of flavor. They had the option of a biscuit or cornbread and i went with cornbread after getting the recommendation from the cashier. It was good not as sweet a jiffy style cornbread which is my favorite. The restaurant is also decorated nicely with comfy seating options and cute neon signs adding a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit. read more
I was scrolling through TikTok and stumbled upon a video about CozyCoop. I had no idea this place existed, but being in the mood for food, I thought I'd give it a try. Upon arrival, finding a parking spot was a bit challenging, which I took as a good sign. I made the mistake of attempting to drive around the building for another parking spot--don't do this LOL! You can't drive around the building, and I got stuck in the drive-thru. After navigating through the drive-thru, a parking spot became available. Also, note that the place is next to Texas Roadhouse, so the area can get busy. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly cashiers. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the menu. Although hesitant about the food quality, I decided to order a simple meal, like their two-piece chicken, yams, fried okra, and cornbread. Unfortunately, I didn't like the cornbread; it had a strange aftertaste. The chicken was good. The fried okra was okay; they were different from what I'm used to but still edible. Would I go again? Yes! In this economy, having a restaurant that serves good food at a reasonable price is a plus. I also appreciated the self-serve area where you can package your own food with cover plates, condiments, utensils, etc. You don't need to bother the workers for anything. I decided to take my food to go, but there was a large group and other customers dinning in. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat try the Cozy Coop. read more

Instagram led us here and it did not disappoint. The location is cute and very clean! We were greeted immediately upon entering and they had their specials (multiple) on display. I really like that option because you had smaller meal options allowing for you to sample without a huge meal purchases. We opted for fried wings, cornbread, read beans and rice and my husband had a side of fries. Everything was really hot fresh and well seasoned! I really liked the cornbread and red beans and rice together. The cornbread was perfection! Not dry, perfect balance of a little sweet and buttery too. My husband said the chicken gave old school Church's chicken vibes. I kinda agree with that. Nevertheless, give it a try! We will definitely return and try their Mac and cheese and greens! read more

Where do I begin?! We weren't sure if it was because they just opened but it felt like we were in the cleanest fast food type restaurant we'd ever been in. All the seats/tables were so clean & comfortable plus the area where you get drinks/condiments/etc. was so organized, which as we all know is normally not the case. The woman who took our order was so kind, she told us the company is family owned (which they emulate well) but they made things official back in 2022 & have been on the come up ever since :) The food was actually really good too, it gave us all the homemade vibes! In all honesty; you may need to add a bit of salt/pepper or hot sauce but regardless, we left feeling like we just left the family BBQ lol 10/10 would recommend, we will definitely be back! read more

Went back again for some cornbread but next time I'll try their biscuit. Ordered the 4pc chicken meal. Service was quick. The place was neat. They have a section in front of the register with Togo boxes and plastic bags so if you dine in and need to take leftovers home, it's there for your convenience which I thought was pretty smart. Got some cornbread to go... I feel like those 4pieces were smaller than the ones I got with my meal. Might need to tell them I don't want any corner pieces next time... still a solid 4 and definitely worth checking out read more

The building used to be an old Zaxby's however they've definitely made it their own. My husband absolutely loved the red beans and rice, and their buffalo sauce was really good. I enjoyed my crispy okra as opposed to fried. It was quite delicious and the staff was very nice. Definitely going to visit with them again. read more
Came back here with my coworkers who haven't been before and they enjoyed it! I got 2 piece with side of collard greens and also got side of rice and beans since they got it new on the menu. I loved collards more, but rice and beans were pretty good as well. I love how crispy their chicken is but yet still juicy. read more
Cozy Coop replaced the old Zaxby's about five months ago, and this was my first time stopping by. I have to say, my experience was much better than any the Zaxby's here ever provided! I first wanted to place an online order, but I was honored to know that they had just launched it on that day and I was the very first online order ever. So of course, there were some malfunctions. No problem, being in the food industry, I've been there before and I understand, so I went through the drive-thru. Don't let the drive-thru fool you -- the food is of a much higher quality than any fast food joint. All their items are reasonably priced, and considering what ribs and sides cost at a local bbq spot, $16 for ribs, a side, cornbread, and a drink was a steal. Then the food! Man, the ribs were dripping off the boat and doused in a delicious sweet bbq sauce. Okra was the solid, quality kind you would fry at home, not the frozen, overly-breaded ones you find everywhere else. The sauce they give you with it was stellar, as well. I'm a huge fan of sweet cornbread, and although it was good, it was a bit drier than I would want it. All in all, this was a great stop for dinner! After reading so many Yelp reviews about this fried chicken restaurant, my better half and I decided to give Cozy Coop a try. The restaurant is located off of Barrett Parkway east of I575 in a former Zaxby's location. We weren't sure what to expect but our chicken was perfectly prepared and cooked. It was served hot and fresh from the fryer. The server, Dienna, who took our order was super friendly and helpful with the menu choices. We asked if you could order pieces of chicken al la cart and she said absolutely. She had a very can-do and customer-focused attitude! My better half ordered a chicken breast and a wing; they give you the whole wing (flat and end) along with a regular order of fried okra. My wife loved the fried chicken breast because it was served piping hot with crispy batter coating. The fried okra was absolutely amazing with really good flavor. I ordered the 4 tender combination which comes with a side (I selected fries) and choice of biscuit or cornbread. I had the cornbread. I thought the cornbread was dry so I took it home and warmed it up with butter and honey. My fries were served hot but a few of my tenders were chewy. I was disappointed that they did not offer blue cheese dressing as a dipping sauce. They offer tenders with blue cheese crumbles and ranch dressing (not sure about that combo!) I ordered a spicy Buffalo dipping sauce that was $0.50 and put in the smallest container imaginable. There other dipping sauce offerings are included with the chicken entrees at no charge but they charge 50 cents for a TINY portion of Buffalo sauce?? All their dipping sauces are dispensed in these tiny containers so you will likely need more than one sauce. All things considered: great service; cooked to order tasty chicken and sides. The Cozy Coop has some tasty offerings. If you want delicious cooked to order chicken and homemade sides, give Cozy Coop a try. read more
