The cashier was such a pleasant woman. Great energy. I did not indulge in meat today. I opted for the 4-side platter and had double collards, black eyed peas, and sweet potato casserole. My boyfriend and his mom had fried chicken which they enjoyed. When we ordered we had to specify to have the chicken made fresh. They usually have them pre-made and sitting until ordered, which dries out the chicken. My collards and black eyed peas were very good. The sweet potatoes were barely luke warm. This is a great little place for breakfast. I went in on Friday March 15, 2024 at about 11:15am for some late breakfast (they serve breakfast all day). It's a walk up counter to order. I had one of the "mamas specials" of eggs, bacon, cheese grits and biscuit. The eggs over medium were perfect, the bacon was good and cheese grits were perfectly thick. I have passed this restaurant for about six years and finally stopped in. This restaurant is very quaint and has lots of seating, although there were dew patrons here when I visited. Upon arrival, you need to go to the cashier to place your order just like a fast food restaurant. They served breakfast all day as well as lunch and dinner. I ordered an omelet as that is my standard breakfast order and how I judge breakfast establishments. The omelet arrived in what looked like a paper plate, but it was actually a normal replica plate. Stopped here on a Thursday for lunch around 11:45. Food was not good and overpriced. Fried chicken appeared and tasted like it was left over from the day before, and then reheated or refried. Very dry. Squash casserole was runny and floating in grease. Cornbread muffin did not taste fresh. I should have given one star and would have, except the dining room staff was pleasant. I do not recommend to eat here. This place needs better quality food. Start by getting better cooks in the kitchen, and making and serving fresh food. read more

I ended up in the Marietta area today, and I searched Yelp to find a good local restaurant. Come-N-Get It had positive reviews and was close to my location. The outside looks fairly antiquated, but the inside has some traditional Southern appeal. I reviewed the menu inside and decided to try some of their smoked BBQ options. I ordered the smoked BBQ pork with mac N cheese and baked beans on the side. I also added the banana pudding for dessert. The food was served quickly, and it tasted fresh and very hot. The mac N cheese was fairly rich and creamy. The smoked BBQ pork was moist, tender and covered in a sweet BBQ sauce. Every meal comes with Texas Toast or a cornbread muffin. The banana pudding was smooth and creamy with lots of pieces of fresh banana slices. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. Multiple team members visited my table to ask if I needed anything. I was visiting during Covid-19, and all of the employees were wearing masks and gloves. The tables had been moved to ensure social distancing. Based upon my first experience, I'll definitely be back. The breakfast menu looked pretty good, so I'll return sometime to try their breakfast. read more

Lots of random decorations, Fox News playing in the background, ect. so there is definitely lots to entertain you and lots to look at while you are waiting for your food to come out hot fresh and ready. Disclaimer: review based on an Uber Eats delivery, as I never leave my house during pandemic (Jan 2021) This is a place that I've wanted to try for a very long time, but never really had the opportunity. The name of the place, Come-N-Get It is just fun to say, often times like a 1980s high school alpha male character, and I love how they have signs off of I-75 and scattered throughout Marietta. So when you see a sign that says Come-N-Get It with no context out in the wild, it's not so much a restaurant suggestion as much as it could be a challenge. Although I've never been to the physical restaurant, I know they're pretty conveniently located off of I-75, or if you're traveling up or down US-41 Cobb Pkwy. Church Street runs between both major routes, and isn't difficult to get to from either direction, traffic pending. The menu leans hard into general Southern fares, so a lot of greasy spoon breakfast/brunch type foods in the earlier hours, and then a lot of basic American fares throughout the rest of the day. Humorously on the menu are some random gyros, and I feel like this is almost like a challenge to the Greek restaurant right up the street from them - if they don't like it, Come 'N Get It! I ordered the meat loaf, which comes with two sides, which was priced at $12.99, because I love meat loaf because it was the kind of American food that I never had as a kid so I gravitated hard toward it when I could make my own food choices as an adult. With fries and collard greens, which are my go-to sides whenever judging a place for the first time. With a biscuit, because why would I get anything other than a biscuit if it's offered? And I have to say that it's a ridiculous amount of food at that price point, because when my food arrived, the takeout container felt like it was 2 lbs. Opening it up, it was everything that I hoped it would be, as in not really attractive, but still carefully packed to where the biscuit wouldn't be in touch with a greasy brick of meatloaf. Now I'm no expert on meatloaf, but Come-N-Get It's was everything I hoped it would be. Really tasty and smoky flavor from the deliberately burnt edges, and went great in conjunction with collards, frieds or the biscuit, which in itself is slightly crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. In the end, I was completely stuffed and satisfied, and I wasn't so much entertained by getting to finally try some Come-N-Get It as I had my appetite satiated. Overall, I'm as pleased with Come-N-Get It as I hoped I would be. One of these days I'll go to the actual restaurant and hopefully try some food fresh, but I never leave my house in this current state. The price points are easily justified by the sheer portion sizes, and the food is exactly the Southern fare that we all super crave sometime, and I think it goes without saying that this venture was a success and I'll be ordering from here again without question. read more
