I had the Breakfast plate with Bacon (3 strips), 2 eggs, hashbrowns, gravy, and toast. My wife had the French toast plate with 2 eggs, no meat. Both had coffee. Everything was delicious. The servers were friendly and we could tell there were many regulars. Highly recommend this place, price was slightly less than similar restraurants. Southern Home Cooking at its best. Now called Sugar Biscuits, my husband and I decided to give it a try. I know this establishment has been here for years but we never stopped in. First of all, this is a Pepsi restaurant. As a loyal Coca Cola customer, I feel like there should be a warning. That being said, you know it's a good diner when there are ads on the menus and cups. I don't know why that's a factor, but I can't say I've been to a breakfast/lunch spot with advertisements that hasn't been good. I had the pancakes and bacon, because I am a full supporter of "breakfast all day" and my dad had the meat + two option, with country fried steak, green beans, + fried okra. The pancakes were pretty good, the bacon was alright, but the okra was worth stealing. I genuinely regret not having pancakes + fried okra. Or just fried okra. My dad thoroughly enjoyed his lunch though, ate every last bite. The staff was very friendly, it's a seat yourself situation but we were immediately greeted + asked for our drink orders. I live in Paulding County. Been to restaurant twice-same thing happened both times. Sat down, waited at least 5 minutes or more to be served while "local yokels" came in afterwards, were heartily greeted by waitresses, and waited on immediately. If I were black, I could easily see how this could be interpreted as racism, but it's just the waitresses showing clear partiality to those they know. Shameful. read more

We cannot review the food as we were never greeted or given menu's. We noted that two men that sat down a few minutes after we arrived were waited on before us. We chose not to bother because none of the wait staff were wearing masks, which forced us to question what the kitchen staff was doing. This is an atypical small restaurant and appears to be popular among locals. There are minimal attempts to protect customers especially in the proximity of seating, they had flimsy cardboard dividers that would be ineffective against an airborne virus. A couple of restaurants we have been into in Paulding County have spaced out their seating and require their staff to wear masks. This gives a clear indication the owners of this restaurant do not take this pandemic or the safety of their customers seriously. My guess is many of the customers themselves are not concerned either, a phenomenon familiar in Paulding County. Most likely won't bother going back since the wait staff showed very little interest in our patronage. read more

Man I really wish I could give this place a better score, and I would have had I written it when I first went here with my wife. Unfortunately the last 2 times we've been the food has been cold. I always try to promote family businesses but I had the worst lunch experience in my life this past Monday. I thought about it for 5 days before I decided to write a review. I hope it helps them improve. A friend and I ordered lunch. The order was partially filled with a promise to bring the okra and cornbread "in a minute". I had only ordered two veges so okra and cornbread was three quarters of my meal. She brought the ticket and literally never came to the table again. About 30 minutes later I motioned for her attention and she came over. She didn't remember taking our order. She looked at us in bewilderment when I told her we never got our food. I didn't mention that she never refilled our glasses even though, at 90 degrees, we had drained them immediately upon arrival. She brought a little saucer of okra and said there was no cornbread and brought two hockey puck dried out biscuits that were not edible. At the register I told the cashier that our meal was not acceptable and all she could say, in a totally snarky way, was, "I hope your day gets better from here." No apology, no offer of credit for inedible, old dried out food, nothing. I told her we probably would not be back again. She, to all appearances, did not care.
