I have visited here before and always enjoy the food. While I would love to see more vegan options added to the menu, I appreciate that they are continually evolving and making improvements. One thing that stands out is the owner's pride in the establishment and their willingness to personally check in with guests, which adds a welcoming touch to the dining experience. My guest thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits and had nothing but positive things to say. We have always enjoyed coming here. From the food and atmosphere and also friendly staff it drew us back in every weekend husband is home. Today, we saw a decline. Not in the staff but there are some minor interior issues which could be addressed. As the dining area and service areas are open plan you can easily see the duct tape doors to the dishwashers area is in dire need of repair versus patching. Also it is rather filthy along the edges. The wall a/c unit also needs to be completely cleaned as it appears to have some grime building up. Now for the biggest disappointment ... our food. Coffee - yummy Country fried steak biscuit..... yea nope not again. It's just like it says just a huge very thin slice of commercial packaged frozen patty of country fried steak laid across an open faced biscuit. I had a side of fresh fruit. But it was mostly out of season fruit so not sweet and still underripe. Biscuit was light and fluffy but I had to order a piece of cheese and some gravy to hide the flavor of the meat and coating. Chicken and waffles - husband's favorite here but today it wasn't the same at all. Chicken was super dry inside. Waffles he described as no different than ones he makes at the hotel lobby. We had to wait a while to be seated but we had a party of 7 for breakfast. Once we got a table, it was a bit weird. They had about 4 small tables pushed up against the wall so we were all on one side (like a bar). We couldn't even talk to everyone in our party. The atmosphere otherwise was good and the food was good as well. We tried the appetizer of mini chicken and waffles and it was fantastic! Local favorite hits the road. That would be Salt & Pepper Cafe, a family operated Acworth gem we visited a year ago for an incredible brunch. They recently added a food truck and it is just as good. We tried it at The Outpost from Drowned Valley Brewing on Euharlee Creek (near Cartersville). A compact but flavorful menu featured the best food truck meal we've had to date (that includes lobster rolls, craft pizza, Phillies, Asian, etc.) Our new favorite: fried ribs. Five meaty ribs with light breading and just enough fry taste. We were cautious; our annual cardiologist visit was three days off. No worries; this was perfect. The side was a healthy helping of fresh potato salad. We paired it with Drowned Valley's just-released summer shandy (3.5 percent ABV). Also good: Chicken tenders with fries. We've added Salt & Pepper mobile to our stalking list as we'd do this again tomorrow. It was the best $18 we've yet to spend at a food truck. Service: excellent. Fast and you carry a buzzer that tells you the order is up. Ambiance. A food truck with a convenient design and friendly folks making magic inside. How good? The food here was sooo good. We had some parmasean breakfast potatoes to start....and they are definitely a must have. I had the veggie breakfast skillet. It was delicious. Loaded with veggies and the parmasean potatoes (definitely one of the stars of the dish). I went with scrambled eggs and substituted the mozzarella cheese for cheddar. This was my first time coming here and I will definitely be back. My friend is a regular and mentioned needing to get the parmasean potatoes and she was 1000% right. The menu was good and fairly priced. The waitress was amazing. She was attentive, informative and patient. This is a cute little spot now that I know about them ill be back and when its warmer We can sit outside on the patio area. Lots of parking since this is a plaza. Check them out. read more

I haven't been here in over 4 years. I was in the area with my daughters and decided to stop for brunch. There was a small wait time (15 minutes) but once we were seated, our waitress came right over. Our table was close to the door so every time it opened, we felt a cool breeze. Our food was fresh and hot and we did not wait too long for it. Our server was amazing. Constantly checking on us and making sure our food was to our liking. The service was just super friendly. It was packed but the noise level was low while we ate our food. My girls loved it so I know we'll have to come back. My daughter said it was the best omelet she ever had. read more

A friend and I randomly chose this place in Acworth. Menu prices were very reasonable. The place is not so big. We got there around noon and it was packed but was pretty free around 130p. There was a bit of wait for the food but overall everything tasted good. We got the strawberry waffles, the Traditional Breakfast and the fried steak biscuit with gravy.... Potatoes were nice and crispy. Biscuit for the traditional breakfast arrived over 10mins after the plate was served but it was reallllllyyyy good! So get the biscuit. Took a point off because we sat underneath the dripping AC.... Orange juice wasn't filled all the way. My friend and I had the same size juice but she got more... needed to clean my utensils again... We ate at this restaurant for the first time. It takes a lot to impress me. Hands down this was the best meal I have had in a long time at a restaurant. I had the country fried steak skillet. It's located in a small shopping center that I've never seen too busy, so parking has been easy when I go. When I started going here, my father and I would usually order the meatloaf entree (it comes with two sides), we'd get sweet potato tots and Mac & cheese. Mmmmm, it's all good. My dad is still stuck on the meatloaf entree. I have since tried their burgers, they are good but now I almost always order a breakfast dish they are served all day. I love breakfast foods for dinner. I really need to try more of their breakfast menu. Lately I get The Traditional: Two eggs cooked your way (I get scrambled), parmesan potatoes and a biscuit, choice of meat (I get bacon). Their biscuits are so good! Some of the best in our area. Restaurant was busy and well organized by the efficient hostess. The food was good for my husband who had the country fried steak. I had the French toast which was tough a big disappointment. It could not be sliced up with the knife they provided. Ambiance is nothing special it was a holiday they had a table of maybe 15 guest of moms and toddlers. I loved the two sweet greeters at the front of the cafe! That just set the tone for a terrific experience. They said hello (and so long), opened the door and showed us a seat. Nice touch! The cafe was packed, but it didn't take long before our server, Kelly K., welcomed us and got our drink order. I was so pleased to have a real glass! Kelly was a spirited and fun server! We went on a very crowded Saturday morning and surprisingly didn't even have to wait since there were just two of us. We started with their brand new menu item, the chicken and waffle sliders, which I HIGHLY recommend. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and my friend got the crab omelet. This small cafe did not disappoint once we got to our table. Myself and five others arrived at noon and were told we would have approximately 45 minutes of a wait. It ended up being a little over an hour but at 45 minutes you are truly committed to the wait. Once we were seated, our lovely and friendly waitress came to the table to introduce herself and provide us with menus. She took our beverage order first and after bringing our beverages asked us if we were ready to order. She told us of the specials they had that day including the chicken and waffles bites which were delicious. They were small bites of chicken in a waffle batter with a side of syrup for dipping. I ordered the Cajun Shrimp and Grits which to my surprise included 2 eggs your way, bacon, and a biscuit. The eggs (I ordered egg whites) and Turkey bacon were added on top of the shrimp and grits. This was different from what I was used to but I enjoyed it. I washed everything down with a pineapple mimosa and a peach mimosa which were on special for $3. Since I had an evening flight back home I ordered a Cobb Salad with ranch dressing to go. That was delicious and much cheaper than anything I would have purchased at the airport. read more

I went to Salt & Pepper Cafe today with a friend for brunch today since we weren't far from there and wanted mimosas. The inside is very small & quaint. I was immediately greeted when I walked in by a young lady behind the counter so I felt welcomed in. Once seated she took my drink order. I had the strawberry mimosa since she said that was the most popular flavor. For my meal I had the shrimp & grits with egg whites and a biscuit. Everything was so good and flavorful. Do you like frozen biscuits, powdered pepper white gravy mix, and processed chicken breast? Well you are going to love this place. I did not see a single item you can't buy from the grocery story in the frozen food section being served. The mimosas are made from twist top champagne that you could find at CVS. Also, the place is called Salt and Pepper. The pepper and salt shakers aren't even crushed peppercorn and gourmet salt. It was Morton salt and McCormick on the table. I still have yet to physically visit this establishment to see the inside decor but this is the third time I've tried it with a pickup order and this one wasn't as good. But I'll still give 4 stars because the last two orders were consistent. The first two times I ordered I got a scrambler with grits, egg, cheese and sausage. The eggs were scrambled nicely and blended in the bowl and the cheese portion was perfect for a scrambler. The second time the cheese lacked, and this last time the egg almost seemed like an after thought. Looked more folded than scrambled. The first time I also ordered a chicken biscuit with scrambled egg which was tasty. The biscuit is nice and fluffy. The second time, I ordered blueberry pancakes with the grit bowl and that pancake is huge and they give you 3. Definitely a shareable option. My 1 year old loved it! This third time I only had the grit bowl and it didn't taste as good. I'll definitely be doctoring it up when I reheat it tomorrow, Went again today (4/3) and went inside. I was greeted by three staffers, so I think it's safe to say that service is great. Today, I tried the Buffalo bleu chicken sandwich and got green beans and baked sweet potato. The sweet potato was supposed to have butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. It taste like it only had butter so I had to doctor it up. The green beans... oddly enough needed salt, pepper, and some other seasoning wouldn't hurt because I didn't taste any. The sandwich was good but not sure that I have to have it again. read more
