Sunday afternoon and looking for a spot off the beaten path and found this little gem! From the moment we walked in, we could tell it was different. The staff were all smiling and energetic and made us feel very welcome. Our server, Jessica, was all smiles and friendly. She made several recommendations based on her favorites. Hubs chose the turkey and dressing while I opted for the pecan pork chops with blueberry chutney! I wouldn't say it was a flavor explosion but it was very good. What a great diner! There is plenty of parking in a small strip mall. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The patio is quite large. They have a great selection of items. Diner items like meatloaf and veggie plates. I love that the vegetables Were marked if they have meat in them. There were a lot Of options that were meat free. I got the mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, broccoli casserole tomato and cucumber salad. The broccoli casserole Seems like it had been rewarmed a few times. The tomato and cucumber salad was a bit soggy. But the mashed potatoes and Mac& cheese were excellent. I wish there was an uo charge for a side salad as a veggie option. All the salads are meal size. We decided to do a pick up order because door dash tacks on about $5 per entree for this location. I ordered a chicken Philly. What I got was very disappointing. It was supposed to be chicken, cheese, peppers onions, and jalapeños. I asked for no green peppers. I got a chunky chicken and cheese sandwich (not shaved like a Philly). Visited on November 29th. We walked in expecting a good experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We were barely greeted by the group of four staff members at the podium. A young lady hurried us to a dirty booth until I requested a different table. After two minutes, a man took our drink orders (Sprite, hot water with lemon, and iced water). While we were looking over the menu, another man approached us, asking if we were ready to order, informing us that the kitchen was closing soon. When I asked for the exact closing time, he replied, "now." This was confusing as other tables were still enjoying their meals. Our waiter, seemingly unaware of any kitchen closing, took our orders for a shrimp basket and a spicy po'boy special. There was confusion over the sides; we weren't informed about additional charges for substitutions, like the mac and cheese. The fries were okay, but the po'boy was disappointing with stale bread and lacking spice. I ended up eating the shrimp with a fork, which was the only part I enjoyed. My daughter liked the shrimp but found the mac and cheese mediocre. Throughout our meal, staff members sat at the bar, some wiping down tables and putting chairs up. New customers were turned away, being told the restaurant was closed. Our bill included a charge for a tea we never ordered. Though I mentioned it and assumed it was removed, it remained on the final bill along with extra charges for the side substitutions. Despite the waiter being nice and in training, the overall rushed service and mediocre food were disappointing. I tipped 18% for the waiter's effort, but the experience left much to be desired. The Good: Our server, Amy, was amazing. The food was plentiful and delicious, and she was easily one of the best servers we've ever had there. She was attentive, friendly, and truly elevated the experience. The Not-So-Good: I'm giving four stars only because of how things were handled before the manager stepped in. Had she not come out to make things right, this would have been a one-star review. I do appreciate that she took ownership and corrected the situation. One ongoing frustration is the 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card. Personally, I don't believe customers should be penalized for paying with a card, and I won't give five stars to a restaurant that adds this fee. We've loved this place since moving to Cobb County 11 years ago. It was always our go-to spot for our family (originally 8, now 6). The selection was great, portions were generous, prices were fair, and service was consistently solid. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the customer service experience has noticeably declined. Since then, we've visited 8-10 times. Nearly every visit has involved a 30-60 minute wait for a table, followed by another 30-40 minutes for food after being seated. On two occasions, we left after waiting over an hour despite seeing open tables. We were told they couldn't combine two adjacent tables because they were in different sections. Each time we expressed our frustration to the hostess, but nothing seemed to change. Yesterday followed a similar pattern. When we arrived, we asked about the wait time and were simply told to "go sit over there." We waited about 35 minutes while watching smaller parties who arrived after us get seated. When we asked for an update, we were told they didn't know and that it might be another 45 minutes. After continuing to wait and seeing no progress, we decided to leave. When I expressed our frustration, the hostess didn't seem concerned and simply offered to remove us from the list. As we were leaving, a manager ran out to the parking lot to apologize and asked for a chance to make it right. She followed through and seated us as soon as two tables opened up. I genuinely appreciate her effort. If she hadn't stepped in, we likely wouldn't have returned or continued recommending this restaurant to friends. That said, we're hesitant to return as a larger family group. We may come back for a date night, but not with a larger party. A reservation system for bigger groups would make a big difference -- I'd even be willing to put down a deposit to secure a table. read more

However during my wife and I very recent visit, my wife told me not to move as there were German Cock roaches crawling behind me in the booth we sat in. We also had the Reuben, one traditional and one without bread due to gluten allergy. Had the French dip with French fries but the au jus spilled on the plate and it made the sandwich soggy. Wow!!! I came here a couple of days ago with my mom and grandparents. I am SO glad they invited me. It was incredible. The side salads are so big. I got thousand island with mine and I think they make it there...so good. For my meal I got country fried steak, mac n cheese, and collard greens. All were very yummy. Wow!! This place is Comfort Food Central! This was our first visit and we were guided here by the Atlanta Passbook. I am so thankful because I have never had a better quality comfort meal anywhere. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes & gravy and a side of Corn Casserole. The chicken was so moist & tender and unbelievably flavorful (lookout Colonel!). This diner offers pretty much any kind of food you want, but they specialize in comfort foods. My son and I visited for lunch recently and our bill was $65, which is much more than I'd like to spend for 2 lunches.
