Place closes at 8, which is already early. Called about 7 and was told they "had to close down early because their kitchen is short staffed". Why do businesses think this is acceptable? Well, with me it's not. Hire more employees, or pay them more. In any case, figure your shit out. Posted hours should be adhered to; it shouldn't be a guessing game if you're open. Ordered some tasty breakfast from Come-N-Get It today on Uber eats! I was very pleased with the order and everything was delish! I read the reviews on the shrimp and grits (blackened) and the dish didn't disappoint - the grits were cheesy and the blackened shrimp were delicious! There were probably a good 10-12 in one order. We ordered a side of fried green tomatoes With ranch and they were divine. Probably the BEST ones I've had! Also ordered the southern breakfast and it was also wonderful! The pancakes were fluffy as were the scrambled eggs. The sausage and hash browns were seasoned to perfection. The banana cream pie is in my fridge as we speak, but I'm sure it too will be exceptional! read more

All sorts of coolers, non hanging pictures, (love) the tributes to service men and women, and random antique pieces on the out skirts. No music, espn on a tv. Ordered chicken and waffles. Good waffle and tough chicken. It was a chicken fried chicken piece. Not easy to eat with the waffle. The biggest problem was finding egg shell in my soft scrambled eggs. We got the French toast, it came eggs, a biscuit and bacon. It was your average French toast. The hash and eggs which comes with a biscuit. The hash is homemade and tasted ok. Overall everyone is very friendly and the place always has a steady stream of customers. Prices range from $5 for sandwiches to $10 for the meals. Come-n-Get-It is a terrific, casual, family-run comfort food restaurant super popular with both locals and visitors (such as myself). I drove past this place a few evenings ago on my way to visit family and liked the "feel" of it, even from a moving car. I passed it again the next day during the daytime and the parking lot was packed. My curiosity got the better of me so I Yelped it to look at reviews. I had to pay a visit to see if all the 5-star Yelpers were right -- they are! This is a completely unpretentious restaurant with delicious and varied comfort food and super-friendly staff. You order at the counter, pick a table, and the food gets delivered to you. Yes, Fox News was on the TV and references to Scripture adorned the place, but guess what? Even though I don't personally lean in either of those directions, I didn't mind at all -- it just added character to the restaurant's super-friendly and gracious vibe. Everything we ordered was freshly-made, wholesome, plentiful, and delicious. Our party of four ordered a full rack of ribs, chicken and dumplings (two orders), pancakes and hash browns (one person wanted breakfast for dinner), and four different sides (macaroni and cheese, collard greens, squash casserole, and sweet potato casserole), along with cornbread and biscuits. And as a show of enhanced pigatude, we all shared a huge slice of red velvet cake for dessert! There is not one single item I would choose not to order again, but the items that stood out as most awesome were the ribs, macaroni and cheese (that dish was especially delish), the chicken and dumplings, and the red velvet cake. Beyond the excellent food, the staff were, to a person, really attentive and lovely. The owner, Nick, spent quite a while at our table as we discovered that he and my husband shared a number of common sports passions. We felt more like guests in his comfortable home than strangers ordering food at a restaurant far from home. The restaurant and the restrooms were clean, and parking is plentiful. Our local family members wondered why they had passed this place hundreds of times without even thinking of going in, and were already planning their next visit before they even left! Very pleased with this place. It's a family-run business. They serve breakfast all day. They have diner and Greek cuisine and homemade desserts (cakes and pies, while they last; they also have milkshakes). You could get anything from pancakes to a hot dog to Greek specialty items. I'm a fan of the lumberjack and grilled jack (essentially Greek hoagies with hamburger and grilled chicken, respectively). My fries were good, and the portion size was fair. The drinks are self-service. They have private rooms if you reserve them, but the main dining area is one big open room. You order and pay at the register first, and then they bring your freshly-prepared food. They also bus it for you. Very friendly staff. During our lunch, the owner brought out his staff and introduced and thanked each staff member so we would know who was serving us. He also thanked Jesus as his Lord for this place. The interior is decorated with everything from Christian symbols and pictures to military service tributes to a few cowboys and country symbols. Nevertheless, it doesn't come across as tacky; it fits the culture of the place. This won't be the most upscale place in the world, but it has good food, is a friendly, clean place, and has fair pricing. A good place to enjoy. read more

I've been here a few times for work lunches. My experiences have always been below average. My most recent journey I found a hair in my Lima beans. YUCK! They want you to tip. They ask for it when you pay via credit card, but they don't ask you how the food is. The only good part of all the things I've had here is the country fried chicken. Admittedly, it was worth while. We were at Kennesaw Mtn for a nice hike and I checked yelp for a nice place to take out to eat at the park. We came across Come-N-Get-it. Reviews were nice and seemed like it was a local favorite. So we decided to order some ribs and country fried steak for Take out. When we went to pick up the food, I called to let them know I was here and arrived at the parking lot. They asked me for the name and I told them but seems like no one was able to locate my order. After 4-5 times hearing my name shouting around they were able to get my order and bring it out to me. I believe it was the owner or manager and he explain to us that we could dine in if we want to. The weather was great for eating out so we told them thank you and that we would eat outside. We got to the park and we started to take out the boxes one by one and when we open the boxes something seems to be off. The ribs were dry and brunt and there were no sides that i ordered plus no BBQ sauce either. My friend took a bite into the Country fried steak and looks at the meat like something was wrong. The steak was chicken and the gravy was very salty. I don't trust take out or delivery too much because I know the time to cook and to take it home or to our destination the food goes cold and doesn't taste as good as dining in but there was so much mistake in our order so it was sad to see. I see a lot of good reviews and everyone makes mistakes so I am hoping to make the time back to Kennesaw area to try this place again. Will update once I do a retry! read more

I had heard that they have good smoked meatloaf and lucky for me - it's true! Mmmmmmm. I enjoy everything here. So far everything that I've tried on the menu has been good but my favorites are the smoked meatloaf and their Mac & cheese. I like their fried green tomatoes and believe that they are better than many other restaurants. I find that many other places put too much breading and seasoning on their green tomatoes, I think these are done just right. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The place can get busy but I've never had problems parking. Nice porch with rocking chairs. You order at a counter, give your name and then find a table. So far they have brought the food out to my table but I think if they are really busy you may have to walk up and get your food at the counter. read more

Well I don't know where to start. Came in very hungry after fasting for a doctor's appointment. I wanted breakfast and it was around 1030 am. I selected the basic breakfast which consisted of two eggs, two slices of bacon, a biscuit, saw mill gravey, and hashbrowns. Sounds good right. It was one of the most tasteless and disappointing breakfasts I have ever had. First, I asked that my hashbrowns be fried crispy. They came out looking and tasting like a mushy over cook hashbrown casserole. Tasteless and even ketchup could not help them. Next, the biscuit was flat, lardy, and again tasteless. The gravy I ordered tasted like a packet that you would buy in the grocery store not a gravy that should of been made from scratch. Nothing special about the bacon other than it was not the apple wood bacon I thought I was getting. Last, were the eggs. The best thing on the plate. the only problem was choosing if I was going to eat them with the biscuit or save that biscuit for that store bought gravey. I normally never write a negative review about a restaurant but I don't think the cook in this place puts any love in his food. Slap it on the plate and serve it to the guests since they have already paid for the meal. Cost of the meal was $10.99 and very over priced for what I received. If you want a good country breakfast for a great price. "I bet she's big on breakfast." -- 13 Reasons Why: Season 1 | Episode 11 I've seen this place for ages - matter of fact, considered about going every time I went to the Red-Eyed Mule next door. The sign beckons you in by the name alone, but until a recent UYE, I had not taken the time. We came in around 11am on a Saturday and the place was not terribly busy, which was a plus for us. The menu posted was all lunch/dinner foods, so we were confused. Turns out, they offer breakfast all day, so they keep that on a paper menu. We grabbed a couple and sat and went through it, trying to decide what to order. Being the breakfast/brunch person who wants to try a little of everything, I chose the Down Home Breakfast. The young man at the counter was super courteous and funny - he helped me make my selections (country fried steak versus chicken fried chicken - "ma'am that's like trying to choose your favorite child"). We settled on the steak, scrambled eggs and, because a side of country ham was not an option, I got a country ham biscuit was well. My food came out very quickly and was also served with a smile and a "ma'am" or two. Everything was well cooked and very tasty (well salted and peppered also). The biscuit was nice and buttery, but a tad dense. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy from the flat top. The country fried steak was the winner - perfectly battered and fried, super tender and moist on the inside and did not really need a knife to cut it - this was the star of the day. My country ham biscuit was good, but the ham was over griddled and a bit too tough - I had to work at it. I also tried the biscuits and gravy (thanks Tanya C) and it was delicious - it needed a bit more sausage in the gravy, but the gravy was flavorful and a great consistency. So I would definitely come back - and I really want to come back for their lunch/dinner. The menu looked awesome. read more

This restaurant was okay. It wasn't what I was expecting. To my dad and I we felt as if it was lacking flavor. My father got the catfish dinner and I only got the Mac n cheese since I am a vegetarian. I do want to note that they do have vegetarian options however there wasn't any available this evening. My father and I also went the last hour they were open so that might be why. The Mac was okay it definitely needed a little more seasoning. My dad enjoyed the Mac and said it had the most seasoning out of everything and that he truly enjoyed it. read more

Four stars for sure. Very crowded place at noon on sunday. You go to the counter and order your food ,very odd choices. everything from fried catfish to chicken livers to chicken gyros. I ordered the blackened tilapia and my husband ordered chicken fried steak, otherwise known here as 'one of them things.' the restaurant looks like a big majority of locals that know each other by name, I like that. All the employees are working hard, which I always appreciate. There's nothing fancy or overstated here, and the owner walks around and checks on tables. That's huge for me. A manager or owner that doesn't do that is IMHO, too afraid to ask and can't handle truths about their business. We will be back because I see quite a few other things I want to try. A table near us got the chicken and waffles breakfast, looks really good. Parking is tough, again Patience is necessary. The lady next to me sure needed a dose of it. They have a large front porch with some rocking chairs. The owner, after he made the rounds, started bussing tables. My kinda owner. On the outside/ other side of the counter, things look all good, but I went up to ask for some lemon and butter and there was a very disgruntled employee doing some major complaining instead of working. That's a shame, but not surprising. She looks like her braids are too tight , probably a good source of her irritation. She left, hopefully not coming back, she was distracting other helpful employees. Well, she's back, not working . I kind of think she might be the daughter of the person who delivered our food, cuz that lady was a little sour as well. She wasn't pleased that I asked for melted butter from my blackened tilapia. She brought it, but she didn't seem happy about it. The food was very good definitely no complaints about the food. The owner like I said earlier was very nice, there was also a tall thin young man behind the counter that was very cheerful and pleasant as well. This place has a down home feel. They have a simple menu. A step up to the counter to order set up. The food came out hot and quick. We had no issue with or order. The corn-beef hash is over the top good. Chicken fried steak is good so are the cheese grits. My only complaint is the biscuits. They are made from scratch and there seams to be no consistency. One time light and fluffy. Next time dense and flowery tasting. Staff and food is all around good. I would highly recommend this place. read more
