What do the kids say? This place is busssin. I stumbled upon Mr Diddy's because my stylist decided to order from here one day while I was at her salon. They asked if I wanted anything and I looked over the menu and decided to get the soul rolls as I wasn't that hungry. OMGGGGG! I had the soul rolls (and they forgot the sauce) and I was hooked, do you hear me? I didn't even need the sauce. No pictures because the meal never makes it to be camera ready. Needless to say, I told my husband about it and we decided to try it again and when we did - let me tell you, we went all out. We ordered the fried catfish, honey glazed salmon, collard greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, an order of the soul rolls (WITH the sauce) AND the corn bread? Ch- whoever is cooking back there knows what they're doing. Nobody's perfect, the rice was OK, the grilled tilapia was way too salty, but other than that, everything was GREAT! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, DON'T forget the sauce. You're welcome. read more

Food was hot but not what I expected* It was more of a fried wonton wrapper. Also play some different music. All that rap & vulgar music is too loud. I know the young folks work here. But Jazz would have been much better. Better greetings & customer service is needed. read more

Unfortunate that my order today was the complete opposite. My salmon was dry, cornbread was burnt on the bottom, and my yams were flushed with cinnamon. Hope it's just a bad day of cooking and nothing else has changed with the restaurant. read more

The food was disappointing. Veggies (collards and candied yams) were canned and tasted bad. The fish had no coating. It was just fried with nothing on top. I waited 15 minutes to get my meal. I do not recommend. read more

I took a chance with trying a new spot on Door Dash and I'm glad I found Mr Diddy's. The food came packaged well with no spills or food out of place. I ordered the honey glazed salmon dinner with mac n cheese and collards as my two sides. I also ordered a side of baked beans. I don't usually see them on menus so when I do and they are vegetation I make sure to try. Everything was seasoned so well and tasted really good! As you can see I ate half the filet before I could stop to take a picture bc the food was just that good! Cornbread was moist too! Will definitely order again! ****MIDTOWN LOCATION**** read more

Mr Diddy's - Honey Glazed Salmon with Mac, Greens, and Baked Beans - Southern Near Me - Marietta, Georgia

Saw this place on tiktok and tiktok convinced me to come. I got the Soul Rolls, Lemon Pepper Wings with fried okra and a lemonade. BOY OH BOY I was NOT expecting those soul rolls to be that good and they were great! The wings were good & a good size, not those baby wings. I enjoyed the lemonade as well. Everything is made to order so you'll have a wait on your food. This is a takeout place, there are benches outside on the side but they can get full quickly so be prepared to take it home to eat or eat in the car. read more

Only stopped in for some sides, got the 3 veggies with cornbread. The cornbread was really good, I couldn't tell if it was box or not but it didn't matter because it was good. The Mac and cheese was different, I'm not going to say I didn't like it but it wasn't what I was looking for at the moment. It wasn't bad just different. Now at first glance the candied yams looks weird but they along with the collards were pretty tasty. I would definitely frequent again. read more

First time trying it. Ordered through UberEats. Definitely ordering again. The salmon was a little over cooked, but everything was good. I'm usually not the biggest fan of cornbread, but this cornbread was so moist. I have no regrets. read more

Mr Diddy's - Blackened Honey Glazed Salmon, mac n cheese, yams and cornbread. - Southern Near Me - Marietta, Georgia

Decided to finally try this spot. Went around 3 on a Saturday. Weirdly, I told my husband we should go around noon bc places like this can run out of food or situations such as. And that's me assuming based on videos, comments, Instagram posts on their page, etc. Well jumping right into it, pros and cons: The mac and cheese. "Meh". I don't like spiral noodles. Too cheesy. Not really "homemade" in my opinion. Just heavy on the cheese. Green beans were terrible. Bland!!!!! Salt couldn't even help them Lord. He led me To use hot sauce and I still couldn't get flavor. Idk what happened with them and those green beans. The Lord Then led me to throw them away. Next, the soul roll were okay, they had potential but were filled with majority mac n cheese. Not equal portions as other places and Overcooked. They didn't give us greens on one plate that we asked for per receipt. They were out of yams at 3pm. Whiting was okay but overcooked. Dry and the color/texture showed it. Pieces of cornbread were different. One yellow thin and moist other short thick and super dry. They were extremely busy. Idk if this doesn't happen often and we're overwhelmed or if they weren't prepared for the day. Line literally outside of the door. Had One girl Working and she was over it, because I asked. She said it generally 2 people. They had to close for a while bc per the girl she said the owner said to. They were running out of food. Seemed very hustle and bustle. People in line had to leave due to this. (We we're waiting for our food by then). She told them it was only for 30 mins but who knows. These are were mostly cons, unfortunately. Pros, they had a lot of traffic so apparently they have a good following. I'm partial to giving restaurants another try and looking at and taking the obvious into consideration as that could Have affected the experience. And this is one of those times. We may try them 1 more time. Different food, different day, different time to Give them the benefit of the doubt on the service and taste factor. read more

My daughter has picked up plates from here before and suggested this place. I ordered the T-Bone steak and Mac and Cheese with candied yams. Was going with collared greens and yams but they were out of greens. Everything was good. The steak was seasoned very well and came out tender and tasty. The yams and Mac and Cheese accompanied the steak very well. My daughter was very pleased with her selection. The tea grape was good too. read more

I really, really, really wish people would quit messaging me to ask me about Mr. Diddy's hours. I am 100% not affiliated with the business and even though I would love to patronize them and they're practically in my front yard, I haven't even been in there in months (more on that below). If you can't reach them at their phone number and they are closed during their posted business hours, I strongly suggest contacting them on social media. Having said all that - I hesitated to remove my 5 star review. Especially since it had netted me an illustrious 'Yelp Review of the Day.' Unfortunately, the prices / portions / preparations are way too inconsistent (and this was BEFORE the pandemic). But the main reason I removed my previous review is because as much as we tried to support the business, that light-skinned chick with the braids and the BDE completely ruined any desire to keep patronizing them. I can put up with awesome food and subpar service. And I can even put up with so-so food and excellent customer service. But I can't deal with disappointing food coupled with surly, sour service. Sidenote - I fear she must be related to the owners because otherwise, there could be no other sane explanation for how she still has a job. She's angry and combative on the phone and then - even if she's in the back cooking when you come in, she's manufacturers a reason to come up the front then blesses you with scowls and something snappy to say. I'm too old to get into fistfights with strangers - and I'm not good at trash talk - so I took my last visit as my cue to stay outta these folks place. And it's not just me - J said she went off on him about some wings on his last visit and I have had 3 random conversations with people that had something negative to say about this place and when I asked them to describe the person that had the negative experience with, it was the same rowdy chick. I wish them continued success and the owners really are lovely people, but I have to give up on them. The memories of their former meals and the formerly sweet, friendly customer service is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 star. read more

3.5 stars. I wouldn't rush back but it was good for something on the fly. The wings are breaded then tossed. They were a little soggy vs crispy from the lemon pepper wet. The souls rolls are filling and a good size but the flavors didn't just jump out at you. The sweet chili sauce is good and has a little heat like Tabasco or something. Nice minimal esthetic inside, cleanish, and the staff I encountered were nice. They did forget my ranch and gave me no napkins or utensils for my to-go order. With that said my order was ready upon arrival. read more

Food was pretty good. I ordered the shrimp and grits and a side of soul rolls. Everything was made fresh to order. The ambiance was urban with no dine in options. The service was friendly enough. Ok y'all, I'm gonna tell you what you might already know by now... but here goes: I was in the mood for a grits bowl and it's past normal breakfast hours around these parts. Please don't let the unsuspecting look & feel of the plaza turn you around (...or it's weird parking lot design--is it just me or is something just, idk...?!) Mr. Diddy's came through! I ordered the shrimp & grits-the shrimp was well seasoned, the grits were smooth & creamy. I ate some now, and saved some for later. For my son, I ordered the cheeseburger with the mac n cheese, as a side. Even my growing 18 year old agreed that the portions are generous, in the best way! The soul roll order was shareable, coming with 2 rolls, and just as delicious as all the other reviews mention. I forgot it came with a dipping sauce, so I'll have to try it again, soon...you know, for science! ;) I did see a chef salad on the menu--while I'm not sure of the size, I would have liked to see a salad on the sides menu, to round out the offerings that come with a choice of side. Really delicious food and friendly, sincere staff! Glad I checked this spot out! read more

Great food! Polite service! Perfect for takeout. I highly recommend the wings and the hulk drink!

The candied yams look nothing as pictured on the website. They are dry as hell & not what I expected taste wise as well. The mac & cheese???? Could not be dryerr. It seems like the mac and cheese was sitting out all day bc its no reason for it be that dry. The catfish is Ok. Obay or something needs to be used because the food is not fully seasoned. This is my first time ordering this. It was a waste of money. read more

The food knocked my socks off. It really was delicious. So delicious I forgot to take pics. Mr. Diddy's is located in a small plaza/strip. Keep your eyes opened or you might miss it. They offer take out only currently and it's a small spot so sit down meals are likely uncommon during non-pandemic times as well. Food is made to order so be prepared for a bit of a wait (~10 or so minutes) and the restaurant appears to be having some repairs in process but it paid to be patient. Had two fish plates, one whiting and the other catfish. While I enjoyed both, the catfish wins out for texture. The sides are A1. Had the yams, collared greens, Mac & cheese, and fries okra. Made my whole day. Definitely worth a try! Enjoy! read more

WOW! FIVE STARS. Mood-elevating food. It tastes like the cooks could make the dishes blindfolded. My orders have been accurate, consistent, hot and most importantly DELICIOUS. NOTE: It has a "guilty pleasure" vibe that's hard to shake. Very cheat meal-ish. But in a good way. read more

Food was mid i thought it was real southern food but it tasted like can collards(glory), mac and cheese w sharp thick cheddar, corn bread was burnt at bottom, like for the price i paid being a first timer i give this place 2/3 stars oh and the banana pudding was just ok we will not be back the candied yams was missing the sweetness, of the main reason people eat them. & yes i ate the fish cause it wasnt bad. I was thinking southern food meant homemade sides and desserts Service was fast, & great No tables to eat inside but very clean from where i was. read more

The food is good but the customer service not so much. This seems like a family owned business so the cashier doesn't really care about giving good customer service. The last time I was in there I had my daughter with me. They were playing rap music (king von) and it wasn't the edited version. I didn't think it was appropriate music especially since my child was present. read more

Food was decent. The wings were mostly crust not much meat and the sides (mac and cheese) were below average, so overall not worth the price. Decent establishment overall and the cashier seemed to have an attitude. read more

I ordered from here based on the good reviews. I got the 2 piece catfish dinner with collard greens, white bread, and candied yams via Uber Eats. The presentation was nice and the portion size is good, but overall the taste was disappointing. The catfish was waaaay too salty. The collard greens tasted good, a little hint of red pepper and there was no meat in them. It tasted like something was off with the candied yams...too much nutmeg! I don't think I'd order from here again. $17 down the drain :-/ read more

Stumbled upon this little gem. I've been checking out wing places around me and somehow missed Mr. Diddy's. I'm glad I stopped in. It's in a small shopping center but don't judge a book by it's over. This place has some legit wing game. The young lady who took my order was really nice, and the gentlemen from the back came out and chatted with me for a little bit as well. Shout out to Terry. I got a 20 piece wing combo. Perfectly cooked. The wings weren't too small, or too large and lightly breaded. The 2 flavots I got was their Special and special lemon pepper. Both were really good. I would recommend both flavors. For the side I got the fried okra, solid and hefty portions. Overall I would definitely recommend Mr. Diddy's and I will be back. read more

The best kept secret around town. If you're looking for Grandma's Sunday dinner, then this is your spot! My husband and I went here (he's been before) to grab a quick bite of lunch, and I was impressed with the food. This building is located on the corner of a small plaza, so there is plenty of free parking. When we first entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the owner and a lady who worked the cash register. She was very friendly and helpful in helping us choose our meals. The restaurant is nice and clean, and it had cute decor. There were a couple of tables in the building, if you wanted to dine in, and there were a couple on the outside as well. The menu isn't super large, but there are great soul food items to choose from. I got the 10 piece lemon pepper wings and my husband got the Soul Rolls. He thought those were amazing. My wings were cooked crispy and seasoned to perfection. The wings were garnished with parsley I'm assuming. The candied yams were very tasty and not too sweet. I also had the sweet tea, which I loved. It's VERY sweet, so if you don't like your tea too sweet, I don't recommend that for you. I can tell you the strawberry lemonade is addicting, and you definitely have to try that when you go! Overall, I think the prices are very fair for the food you get. It's good quality and black-owned. read more
