I've been to this location twice and each time the food was bomb! This is definitely more of a to go restaurant but there are 2 tables on the inside that you could dine at. The first time I went I ordered the Wing Combo and 2 sides. The wing flavors I opted for were the lemon pepper and special sauce with the greens and yams. The second time I went back I ordered the honey glazed blackened salmon with rice and okra, they were out of greens on this day. For drinks I've tried the grape lemonade and the blueberry lemonade. On my second visit I took my dad and he ordered the T-Bone steak dinner with Mac and cheese and yams. Both of my orders were excellent! The glaze on that salmon is soooo good! My dad also said he enjoyed his steak and the sides. I would highly recommend and glad this is in the area. The lemonades are also delicious, I can't wait to try the other flavors. On my first visit the staff was very friendly and helpful. My second visit I called in and upon arrival the staff didn't seem too friendly that day. I booked Mr. Diddy's at the Marietta location for catering my daughter's graduation party. I've never eaten here before but my daughter said it was the best soul food around. I took the chance and I was not disappointed. From the time I went in and inquired about catering, everyone was professional and attentive to my needs. Went on a Saturday and we just missed the rush hour. The food was prepared quick and I ordered the shrimp and grits and soul roll. That soul roll is hands down the best thing I've tasted in years! We only stopped by to try the "Soul Rolls" Decent at best. You only really taste the yams, no greens except for when you look inside and see they are there. The Mac and cheese is cheesy, but not flavorful on its own, like if you were to bite it individually. Drunk snack, but don't be too hopeful. We are from Maryland but have family in Marietta. My beloved family normally has blueberries and box pasta to greet us when we get done traveling with our two kids under age 4 so I'm generally starving and annoyed. We consistently treat ourselves to Mr. Diddys. We have tried the soul rolls, whiting and salmon dish. For sides we have had the Mac and cheese, greens, yams, potato salad and fries. The soul rolls are really delicious and a great sample of the sides. They have a beautifully browned crispy wrap with perfectly balanced Mac and cheese, collards and yams. You can taste the individual seasonings and they truly complement each other. The salmon is beautifully done. Never dry, gorgeously glazed and a fairing portion. Food prices are insane so even though I want more salmon than what they offer I get that it's expensive to prepare as well. The whiting is crisp, not too much breading and nicely seasoned. The sides are all really good but someone consistently puts their big toe in those collard greens. They also don't put pork in their food. I'm really grateful for that. Service is pretty good as well. I accidentally ordered from their midtown location today instead of Marietta because well 1. Idk where I am half the time and the website was trippy, 2. We were operating on no sleep and had to take my 19m old to the ER today due to him trying to be Batman and twisting his elbow (nursemaid's elbow). Imagine spending 70+ dollars of food and driving an hour away from it . I called the midtown location and couldn't get anybody but they actually called me back. The owner (I think) let us pay half price to order the food again in Marietta. Again, I'm empathetic with business owners and was just happy he worked with my husband to come to a conclusion. 130ish dollars later we were all relieved that the food was bomb. I have yet to find something here that wasn't absolutely delectable. The food comes out fast regardless of how slammed they seem. We have had the soul rolls which are a must, the sauce is tangy with a bit of sweetness and spice. It compliments the crunchy savory rolls perfectly. The wings are killer, and the fries always have the perfect amount of seasoning on them. Fried shrimp are always cooked perfectly, shrimp and grits are awesome, t bone steaks are huge covered in some herb butter and honestly they're more like porterhouses the filet part of the steak was huge. The best collard greens I've ever had and that's saying a lot, because I'm always trying to find the best collards in Georgia! They serve sweet cornbread which reminds me of my grandmothers! I think I've had every juice that they sell and they're all hits. Diara works the register and is very good at her job she's given great recommendations and has never messed up one of my orders and I am a frequent guest here with a family of 5 so always long orders! Also I felt like the Mac and cheese is just cheesy with no flavor. I ordered the salmon with greens and yams - it was really good. The greens had a lot of chopped stems but were seasoned well. My husband ordered the whitting with fries and had to throw it away because it was fried to hard in grease that needed to be changed. The fish was dark and un edible. Mr Diddys is a welcome bit of comfort & soul food off powder springs road in the Horse Shoe Bend mall. They have a few basic meals they make & the atmosphere is nice, clean . We.we're hitting them up weekly especially for the wings with special sauce! We've kind of slowed down though recently. A couple times the special sauce that makes the wings was very little & the wings themselves are tiny. We discussed where you might consistently get small wings like that. For what is it is, it's fine. I guess I should have looked closer at the pictures because all of the wings are breaded. I've never been a fan of breaded buffalo wings but it is what it is. The wings were cooked well and they had a decent, though not at all spicy, flavor. The lemon pepper wings ordered without sauce were basically just bettered, fried wings. Barely any seasoning on them at all. Fine if you're ordering fried chicken wings, disappointing if you expected a true, non-battered lemon pepper wing. Apparently the sauce has all the seasoning on it but we prefer the dry rub wings from other places. And lastly, they subscribe to the current trend of putting sugar on french fries. I actually came across this little spot delivering Uber Eats! I decided to try their catfish one day and I have been coming back ever since. The catfish is so mouth watering the greens I can't say enough about. The corn bread is amazing too. HORRIBLE! I will let my pictures speak for themselves. Nothing but grease on top of grease on top of grease. The shrimp and grits were unseasoned and undercooked. I couldn't eat even 2 teaspoons of this slop. The little bit of grits was floating on top of a bowl of grease. I poured some of the grease off and it was STILL floating on grease (second picture). I ordered fried fish for my son and he didn't like it either. The banana pudding was instant, not homemade and taste like nothing but pure sugar and so was their homemade lemonade. I asked was it really sweet and she said "oh no" . So I ordered 3 of them. I couldn't drink them. EVERYTHING was disgusting except the soul rolls. Those were the only thing decent. And the BP was the very best I tasted in 30 years. Second only to my 89 year old grandma. Really a smooth tie. #1 vs #1 prepared differently, same ingredients of which I don't know n don't care but the absolute best n taste. I'm a diabetic but I'll put in another mile or two for that desert again. The menu is off da chain. My opinion from my travels from the West coast to the East coast this place was the best kept secret from me. I swear they can remove the plastic cartons, serve on white over size plates with a touch of green parsley on the side and elegant silverware and even reduce the portions by 1/3 and STILL charge at least $10 more per order and no one will question it. We ordered the Soul Rolls, 6 Wings plate with one side (Secret sauce flavor and collard greens), Honey Glazed Blackened Salmon with Mac n Cheese and Potato Salad, Side of Yams and Hulk Lemonade. The Soul Rolls were amazing!!! They were fried perfectly and I could taste all the individual ingredients. The sauce that comes with it is the same as the special sauce on the wings which can be a little bit spicy. It tastes almost like a Sweet Thai Chili sauce. The wings were fried perfectly and again with the same secret sauce. I want a bottle of that. The collard greens were good but too vinegary. I love vinegar but it was too overpowering. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of sweetness. Potato salad was just meh as well as the mac n cheese. The yams were way too sweet. If you're looking for true candy...get those. If you're looking for sweet potatoes like your mom made, you might want to pass. The Hulk lemonade was good but again too sweet. It has a mango flavor and the right amount of tartness but again someone sweetened it like it was Kool-Aid. My wife and I renamed this place Sweet Diddy's because everything is sweet. LOL. The food here is actually pretty good. My family and I love the wings with the special sauce and the different flavored lemonades. However, getting in contact with them is an impossible task. There's a number listed on the page, but when I called, it directed me to another number. When you call that number, there's no ring, it just goes straight to a recording saying the line is busy and they can't take calls. It's kind of inconvenient since there's no other option to order ahead of pick up (no online ordering except Uber, which has inflated prices). Was looking forward to grabbing something from here for dinner many times, but because I never got through, had to go somewhere else. I found out about Mr Diddy's when a friend posted a picture of their "Soul Rolls" on her IG story. A fried egg roll stuffed with collards, mac, and yams - now you have my full attention! Decided to stop by Mr Diddy's the very next day and I'm so glad I did! My friend told me they get really busy and cook your food fresh to order - so it's best to call in your order ahead of time. The lady who answered the phone was incredibly friendly and very patient. I ordered the Soul Rolls, a Strawberry Lemonade, and the 2 piece fried whiting plate which comes with two sides. For my sides I chose French fries and fried okra. My order was ready for me when I arrived about 25 minutes later and the food was still piping hot - PERFECT. So let's talk about it: 1. The Soul Rolls - YES! End of story. No Soul Rolls slander will be tolerated. That Special Sauce - FIRE! Those things are GOODT and if you don't like them - ya mama! LOL. 2. The Strawberry Lemonade - Very sweet and tasty with real strawberries in it! This not that Minute Maid lemonade, this the real good lemonade! Plus there were about 4 other flavored varieties (blueberry etc) 3. Fried Whiting - AMAZING! Very well seasoned! Great portion size! I mean yal - it was literally perfect. As a matter of fact, you know how you order food to go and you sneak a little bite in your car but you mostly wait until you reach your destination to sit and eat? IMPOSSIBLE HERE. I tasted the whiting and I just could.not.stop. I'm not exaggerating yal - it's REALLY good! 4. The Sides - I ordered the fried okra and the French fries. The French fries were interesting. They have a spice blend on them which tastes like Creole Seasoning and Sugar? The Sugar really threw me off. It's very interesting but the Creole tries to balance it. I'd order them again. HOWEVER, THE FRIED OKRA MUST GO. It's most definitely that frozen okra from the grocery store that's hard and 98% breading with 2% okra. BUT BUT BUT - it doesn't count against Mr Diddy's because they came so correct with everything else. Plus a lot of yal like that frozen okra so you know - it evens out haha. But long story short, it's incredible and you have to go!
