One of them was soaked barley rice which was delicious soft and nutritious. Had summer bibimbop (mixed vegetables with rice) and roasted croaker fish. She remembered us and came to chat. Very authentic Korean treats. I had grilled mackerel wish is a whole butterflied fish cooked on a hot flat top. The panchan was 10 side dishes plus soup and rice all love-ling prepared and includes two kinds of Kim-chi, beansprouts and other delights all home made and good. I saw the owners and staff sit d=own and were served the exact same thing that i was having so i knew it was authentic. A hidden gem! I've been craving Korean food but I didn't want kbbq. I decided to try something different and I'm so happy we ended up here. The location of the restaurant is in a busy shopping center. There's parking and many other establishments to get lost in. K-Mom's is a smaller restaurant with about 10 tables in total. We walked in and were greeted immediately. A plus. We grabbed a table and immediately placed our drink order. We were offered water but we saw others drinking what appeared to be tea. It would've been nice to know what that was so we could try it too! We stuck to water and a beer. They carry sodas, and Soju. The menu had multiple main entrees. The menu is packed with delicious dishes. We were in love with the mackerel dish. That was my absolute favorite. We ordered 4 dishes and shared everything. Our waitress prepped our bimbap for us and I appreciate her for it. It was DELISH. My favorite part about the establishment was the service. We felt like family. One of the owners (im assuming she was an owner) came out and made conversation with us. She played with my baby and carried him. I thought it was so sweet. The restaurant is clean and the food was extremely fresh. The prices were great for the portions. We were shocked to have only paid $101 for all of this food. The best part is this place is 4 mins from our house. I think we found a new favorite for our family. Final verdict: I strongly recommend this small business. We ordered bulgogi and grilled mackerel, while the portions were on the smaller side, the flavors were good and not overly salty, which I like. I love this place! It has become my go-to korean restaurant that offer comforting meals that really hit the spot. Each meal is balanced nicely and very flavorable where it is not too salty or sweet. I love all the dishes here, but my favorites are the 콩비지 찌개 (ground soybean stew) and the grilled mackerel. Also the banchans are simply delicious. Now the type of banchans served may change based on availability and/or season, but none have disappointed. Tip: Try the apple kimchi if it is available as a banchan. You will not be disappointed. I mainly have my meals to-go. But when I step through the door to place my order, I'm always greeted nicely. I'm able to place my order and receive it without issues even when the restaurant is busy. Even though I mainly take my meal to-go, the atmosphere of the restaurant is small and cozy. I love how homey the restaurant is. Service was mediocre. I'm glad they sell soy marinated crab here as previously it wasn't widely available in restaurants. The crab was good not too salty and went well with their purple rice. Love the banchan and there was 10 different dishes so that was great. Their soup was ok. This place serves some of the best, most authentic Korean food I've had. It seriously reminds me of my mom and grandma's cooking. Everything is seasoned perfectly, and I love that the side dishes and soup change frequently, so there's always something new to try. Their spicy and soy marinated crab are amazing and the type of crab they use has a softer shell, making it way easier to eat than blue crab. And the grilled mackerel is huge and perfectly seasoned. On top of that, the owner is the sweetest person ever. She always checks in to make sure everything tastes great, and chatting with her honestly makes my day. Overall: really great place to grab some food, would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some Korean food. Restaurant looks like a typical restaurant. Place is clean with just generic tables and chairs. Service was very attentive and friendly. Menu is the perfect size with only about 13 choices. We had one of the soups and the fish. Fish was cooked very well. Outside was crunchy and the fish itself was moist and flaky. The soup was also delicious. We got a spicer soup, which was a really good level of spiciness. Honestly more like 3.5 stars but I am rounding up. This place is small so I can see why it would get crowded easily and there would be a wait. We did have to wait but there was a table leaving, so the wait was less than 5 minutes. The menu is fairly small which is good. I get nervous when I see a huge menu. My dad and I had Yookgyejang and my mom had the monkfish soup (Ahgoo Tang). The Yookgyejang was ok. For our taste buds it was a little lacking in flavor. It needed some more spice and a tad bit more salt. I didn't eat the rice so I ate the soup as is. My dad asked for dadaegi (paste made from pepper flakes) which was unavailable. He was given gochujang and a salt shaker instead. My dad asked for extra broth in his soup instead of all the filling stuff and they were happy to oblige which was nice. My mom's monkfish soup had a very good amount of monk fish. It had all the ingredients that make a refreshing Korean soup - turnip, bean sprouts and scallions. My mom didn't eat much of it, but she said it was good. When my mom heated it up at home, she added extra seasoning, so I guess it was underseasoned for her as well. There were 10 types of banchan which was pretty extensive. Not many places do that. For my taste some of it was too sweet but some of it was good. It's kind of like going to your mom's friend's house for a meal. Not everything is going to be to your taste but you wouldn't expect it to be. Speaking to one of the servers, we found out she was the owner. She used a colloquial accent and my mom realized she was from the same province in Korea that my parents are from. It was cute because she lectured my dad about how he shouldn't use so much salt. Needless to say, my mom liked her a lot. The service is very friendly. The food comes out fairly quickly. They refillI banchan as soon as you ask. I would say that for most taste buds the food would be seasoned well enough. My family and I always need extra spice and salt. My mom wants to go back and try other foods, my dad, not so much, lol. read more

Small shop packed with lots of flavor! There aren't many seat here and it was filled up when I came in for lunch! We ordered the spicy beef soup, grilled fish, and spicy stir fried pork! The fish was meaty and perfectly grilled. It had lots of flavor and I really enjoyed it. The spicy beef soup was perfectly spicy and had lots of vegetables and beef. I loved that they kept the long green onions in there. The spicy stir fried pork was flavorful and spicy. They also provided many different types of side dishes. There was lots of variety and I enjoyed the seaweed and bean sprout ones the most. The service was friendly and efficient. We ate here for the first time at the recommendation of someone named Eunice, and I came with Jin and Kym for a lunch meetup right at 11am when it opened. Good thing, because all their tables were filled by the time we were finishing up. This restaurant is brand new, so it is sparking clean, the noise level isn't loud so we could have comfortable conversations. Arrived at almost exactly 1200Pm today. Place was very busy. You know when you go to a Korean Rest and all the customers are Korean, you are in the right place. It was AMAZING! it tasted like my grandmother's cooking with a wide variety of Banchan (side dishes) I'd find at my mom's table. The soy sauce marinated crab was so delicious; no fishy smell and perfectly seasoned. The spicy beef soup was so good, and the barley and yeolmu kimchi mixed rice, a summer menu, was amazing.
