It's been awhile since I've been here, and what a surprise that it's now self service! The interior is still nice and modern, well lit with a casual atmosphere. It's never been too busy whenever I come, and the food had always been ready within 15 minutes. You can order at the door with their kiosk or walk up to the counter to place an order. They have a big TV screen near where you get utensils and put away your dishes that will show when your order number is ready. Your order number will also be called when it's ready. For a place that has noodles in the name ("myun"), they have many more food options than I first expected. The food is good. There isn't a spice level anymore for the tteokbokki, which made me a bit sad, but it's still good. There are signs that tell you how long to cook it for, and it's a nice experience to have with friends. You can add more toppings too, but it can really add up. I think we added cheese for $4? Granted, the cheese was nice, and we liked it with the tteokbokki, but it's something to consider when choosing what to add. Kimbap is always good, though I haven't had many places that mess up with it as a Korean restaurant. Filling to rice ratio is lovely. The noodles are a lot, especially the beef dishes. I've never had BBMyun before but decided to give it a try because my usual Korean restaurant was closed. Their menu and pictures look great, and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order because everything sounded and looked so good, but ultimately, I thought the food was just okay. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't impressed by it by any means. If I didn't know of other good restaurants that offered the same items, I likely would come back here and even order take out from here because the prices are very fair and so are the portion sizes. We ordered the tuna kimbap, bulgogi kimbap, fire squid kimbap, ham kimbap, spicy pork bibimbap, a large soup, and an omurice to go. They also included a side of white rice with our order. The kimbaps were where I thought the food was just average. I liked the variety of options that they have, and I like that they're very appropriately portioned and filling. I did think they were on the dry side though. Normally I don't need any sauce of any sort to dip my kimbap with at other restaurants, but everyone in my group was dipping the kimbap to give it a little more flavor. The spicy pork bibimbap was really good with plenty of flavor, however, I did find the portions lacking on this one. This was the most expensive thing we ordered ($15.99) but I felt like the dish could've been filled a lot more. If I ate this dish alone, I wouldn't have even been close to full. Grab a menu and order at the counter and pay. Pager will be handed to you upon payment. Sit and wait for your order to be ready. Fire cheese Kimbap, fire tuna Kimbap, fire squid Kimbap and tteokbokki with an egg and two sides of kimchi. My husband wanted the rose tteokbokki, but it can't be made spicy at all. $44.50. They gave us our tteokbokki to cook for ourselves, great. Not why I go to a restaurant to cook for myself at all. Then again it's not bad cooking our own tteokbokki is that the rice cook was perfectly Al dente and not mushy and overcooked like most places. The sauce has a nice kick to it and foavoe The fire squid is okay, a bit too rubbery for my liking, so not for me. The fire cheese roll was okay, nothing special for me. I get that American sliced cheese is a favored cheese for kimbaps, but it doesn't have a place in a Kimbap in the end. The fire tuna is by far the favorite and the best out of the 3 rolls. Can't say enough great things about BBMyun! We went to the one in Duluth, GA. I admit, going in I was a little hesitant, worried I wouldn't understand what the dishes were. Fortunately, there were descriptions available and the people who work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a kiosk as you first come in the door, with pictures, info and prices you can use to order from and pay, or you can go to the counter and order from there. You'll get a receipt with your order number on it, find your table and then your number will be called and appear on a screen in the corner when ready. The restaurant is minimal in design, very bright, clean, some tables, some booths, some have burners for some of the dishes that get prepared at the table. There are a few tv screens showing KPop music. Pictured is our usual order - 2 Korean iced coffees, Fried Shrimp Kimbap, and a small order of BB Fried Rice, totaling less than $20. A bowl of miso soup had already been consumed before we thought to take a picture. The Kimbap is similar to a tempura shrimp roll and includes pickled radish. The smaller portion of fried rice is not on the menu, but if you order at the counter they can make it and it's only around $3. The fried rice is lightly covered in spicy mayo and is mildly sweet. It is all SO very tasty! We've ordered there a few times and the quality and taste is consistent. If you like iced coffee, you really should try theirs. They have other coffee options, but we like the Korean iced coffee so much, we can't break from the tradition of ordering it. Yum! The people we've encountered who work there have always been so friendly and appreciative of the business and patient with our questions. For some reason, I keep turning back to this place when I visit Duluth... possibly because of its convenient location and comfort level? Anyway, I swung in super-early for lunch (first to arrive!), and tried this Omurice Tonkatsu plate, along with a side of Bulgogi Kimbap. First of all, I'm not a huge fan of eggs, but I just had to try their Omurice... which is a popular Korean specialty, where you wrap pan-fried eggs around a bed of Fried Rice, topped with Gochujang sauce. Well, despite NOT being a fan of eggs, I loved their Omurice! The Fried Rice was great as well...So freshly made, with lotsa veggies mixed in. Their Tonkatsu wasn't very big, but it was very good. Thin and crispy, and topped with this zesty sauce. Loved the creamed corn as well. So overall, this dish was a win for me! Surprisingly, however, their Bulgogi Kimbap wasn't as great as before. For some reason, the Bulgogi just didn't taste good...nor fresh. VERY surprising because I've credited this place for having THE best Kimbaps. Hopefully this was a fluke??? Very casual eatery with a lot of Korean bunsik food options. The food is easy to order via kiosks, but there's only one kiosk right at the entrance so it will feel cramped if there are other people waiting to order. I got the tonkatsu omurice, and my friend got some of the kimbap rolls. The meal was delicious and very filling; the portions are pretty big, so I ended up taking half of my meal home because there was so much food. I usually don't write bad reviews, but this HAS to be said. It breaks my heart to say that this is by far one of the worst places I've eaten at in Georgia. I don't know how you can mess up kimbap, but someway somehow they managed to do it. I ordered the squid kimbap, and it was probably the worst thing I've eaten in a fat minute. First roll, I tasted nothing. I thought maybe there was too much rice, so I ate the squid filling and it was STILL bland. On top of that, the rice tasted old. Only two of my kimbaps had 2 strands of carrots while the others had not a singular dingular strand of carrot. In fact, the only other filling was cabbage? I don't know lol it was just so bland that I genuinely couldn't tell what else was in there. After two rolls, I decided it just wasn't worth eating anymore. The soup was also old - womp womp. I was seriously debating on ordering another dish but realized it wasn't worth the money. If they messed up something as simple as kimbap, they'd definitely mess up any other dish. I was just beyond disappointed. This place doesn't even serve you at all. They have a self-service kiosk, and you pick up the food yourself. I asked one of the workers a question at the front, and he was extremely disrespectful. It made me regret tipping for a service I never even received to begin with. So good and affordable! This is located in the Sweet Hut shopping plaza off Pleasant Hill by Chong Man Chicken. Ambiance is casual and modern. We came in the evening on a Sunday and they were BUSY. I believe they only had one server working and the manager helping him. So service was very slow but it was friendly and they were very apologetic about it. Despite this, our food came out very quickly after we ordered. Portions are HUGE. Easily enough to share between two people. Price was great at about $15.99 per entree. Complimentary anchovy broth, kimchi and radish was brought out. The food focuses on noodle dishes which is their namesake. I tried: - Tonkatsu omurice: delicious! - Spicy beef somen: Loved the broth on this and the noodle texture - spicy seafood kalguksu: a good balance of flavors. Lots of squid in this one. As someone who loves Korean food, I liked BBMyun. For metro Atlanta, which has some of the best Korean food in the country (especially here in Duluth and Gwinnett County), I thought the food was good. Some of my Korean-American friends think this place is just okay/not bad. It's not a place they'd go out of their way for, but it is a place they'd return to if others suggested it (i.e., three stars). I can see that. While the food here won't knock your socks off, I think it is respectable and it certainly satisfied me. Plus, the service was excellent. BBMyun opened in November 2020 in the old Double 07 Airsoft Sport space (https://www.facebook.com/people/Double-07-Airsoft/100068435416803/) at GW Marketplace. Double 07 had been around since 2016. GW Marketplace is the giant strip mall with Sweet Hut and Choong Man Chicken's Duluth locations. BBMyun is on the Choong Man Chicken side of the complex, in between Ding Tea and Be Banh Mi. This is a modern, casual Korean restaurant that specializes in noodles (myun or myeon) and other dishes typically served at Korean "snack" restaurants (bunsikjeom/bunsikjip). Those dishes include dumplings, "DIY" dduk bok ki (tteokbokki - stir-fried rice cakes), tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlets), fried rice, omurice (omelette rice), and kimbap (gimbap - Korean rolls). When it comes to noodles, BBMyun offers a good variety: Korean somen (wheat noodle soup) and kalguksu (knife-cut wheat noodle soup), ramen, udon, cold noodles, and jjol myun (jjolmyeon, chewy noodles). In addition, the restaurant serves spicy pork and beef bulgogi, and a limited selection of iced coffee drinks (e.g., Korean iced coffee and iced dalgona lattes). Expect to spend just under $20 per entree, just under $10 per kimbap order, and about $6-7 per drink. The way the DIY rice cakes works is there is a portable electric stove at every table. That's where your pan of rice cakes with spicy sauce is placed, plus any extra ingredients you may order, such as boiled eggs, dumplings, cheese, and noodles. It's a little gimmicky for tteokbokki, but it can be fun. Compared to other Korean snack restaurants I've been to over the years in Duluth, Suwanee, and the surrounding area, BBMyun doesn't set itself apart significantly, but I think it can certainly hold its own. The Kimbap was yummy. It wasn't among the best I've had, but it was satisfying and I'd order it again. To be picky, it lacked an extra level of flavor. However, on the bright side, the rolls were generously stuffed with fresh ingredients. Each roll came with 10 pieces. I liked the Bulgogi more than the Tuna. My friend thought the opposite. The Spicy Beef Kalguksu was delicious. The broth was rich and spicy. Really tasty. The noodles were "medium" in thickness and had wonderful consistency. Soft, smooth, and an appetizing chew. The beef was relatively tender and filling. Overall, this was a hearty, gratifying noodle soup. I recommend it. The taro stems on top were a nice touch too. The Bibi Myun - this restaurant's namesake - was fine. Bibi (bibim) means mixing, so these are mixing noodles (like bibimbap, mixing cooked rice). Like the Kimbap, the Bibi Myun ingredients were fresh, but something about the quality or execution caused it to lack an extra something. I can't put my finger on it. I really liked the Tonkatsu Omurice. It was straight-up comfort food, from the warm and enjoyable omelette, loaded with sauces, to the crispy, sweet, and savory pork cutlet. The crisp romaine lettuce and corn side salads were ideal accompaniments. I recommend this one too. As mentioned above, service was fantastic. Amy greeted and seated us (she recognized me from Yelp). She and Daniel were our servers and they both did a terrific job. They were very attentive and polite. The owner came out from the kitchen to check on us as well. BBMyun has a clean, contemporary, industrial space. You know, exposed ceilings/ductwork, cinder block wall, polished concrete flooring, etc. Open kitchen. Seating is either booth or banquette/bench. I was worried BBMyun was all hype but I actually enjoyed my two meals I've enjoyed here. While I would say it's a little pricier than other Korean street food restaurants in Duluth, the vibes make up for it. The interior is clean and modern and chic, and that is rare in the older Asian restaurants off of Pleasant Hill. I've been on a weekday for lunch and over the weekend for dinner and both experiences were two thumbs up. The chef specials menu had some options that aren't available on weekends - such as the stir fried squid with rice for $12.99 was a STEAL - and it was freaking delicious. It came out sizzling like a fajitas platter and it was perfectly spicy and hot. However, at the time of writing this review, it looks like it has been removed from the menu, which is upsetting because it was one of my favorite dishes! I've also tried: Jjol Myun - ever since Don Quixote shut down, I've been trying to find another yummy Jjol Myun to indulge in and BBMyun definitely has a tasty one! Fire Tuna Kimbap - definitely v spicy! While the pricing for the kimbap seemed a bit steep, they do fill them up! Bulgogi-Kimchi Kimbap - very filled kimbap and literally just filled with what it's called. Kimmari - something about a simple perfectly crispy kimmari just makes my day better Tonkatsu Omurice - I'm a SUCKER for omurice and for tonkatsu so this was all me. Love that you get both in one plate! Do It Yourself Dduk Bok Ki - I definitely recommend this one if you are coming with a group (or if this is the only thing you're ordering for 2). It's hot and spicy and great for sharing, and tbh pretty instaworthy. You can also add toppings, which is great that it's customizable but it does add up. I haven't been back in a while and wondering why no5 right now... so may be making another visit again soon! read more

I stopped into this restaurant during a recent trip to Atlanta and I'm glad I did. The place has a variety of kimbaps and noodle dishes. There are also a handful of rice dishes if you're not feeling like soup or noodles. What I got: - Bulgogi and kimchi kimbap: Delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. I love the balance of sweet and savoriness of the meat with the spice and sourness of the kimchi. - Somen: An anchovy based soup. It was light and flavorful, which is just what I needed. The noodles were chewy and cooked perfectly. All dishes are served with sides of kimchi and pickled radish. Each were delicious The staff was very friendly and checked in at least a couple times to make sure I was okay. You can either be seated and eat there or order at the counter for to-go. read more
