Alright. I am a huge fan of anything in pork so this place was in my list for awhile. If you are Jokbal or Bossam lover, you have to go here. This place is small cozy and clean. Very welcoming staff and service is great. Their Banchan (side dishes) are on point. You know a good Korean restaurant if their Kimchi is good. Just remember that. Make sure to come earlier if you want Bossam! They had run out by the time we got to the restaurant (around 8pm on a Monday). But that was fine because we were there for the pig trotters anyway! The pork was so good! It all came off pretty easily from the large plate and I really liked how you could choose to add sauce or sides so that you can just appreciate the meat on its own, or flavor it to your liking. I'm also usually not a fan of meat with a lot of fat still on it, but this was delicious! I do wish they gave us more sides though, like the scallions and kimchi. The steamed egg was really flavorful. I know a lot of places that don't steam the egg with both and you get a really plain eggy bowl, but that wasn't the case here! This place basically only serves its specialties, pig feet and bossam! I was really excited to try this place because I love both, but I found their style to be different from what I used to. The pork feet is dry rather than saucy so I feel that it lacks flavor. Same with the bossam. Their portions are huge though and it's impossible to finish the food in one sitting. It's also a LOT of meat, so I felt like the salty and umami flavor was overwhelming at times and needed to cut it with steamed egg and the side dishes. I wish there were more side dishes or sauces to balance the meat flavors! Definitely be prepared to take home leftovers and eat it for a couple days. There is also not much else on their menu. I was impressed by how popular it was and despite being understaffed due to a worker's emergency, the staff was apologetic and made an extra effort to ensure we were well taken care of. It is honestly worth every penny; you get a TON of sides and goodies to wrap your meats with, and they're all very tasty. The food itself was amazing and huge (enough for two meals for two people in my opinion), and came with so many kimchi and pickled veggie sides, as well as lettuce and perilla leaf wraps. We got the garlic version, so ours also came with some pickled garlic which was sooo good and garlicky, it really made this stand out for me. I'll most likely be a regular here just for that late night bossam. Both were so good and flavorful in their own ways. They're not just different spicy levels - the spicy trotters have more of sweet/tangy flavor which I love! They serve sesame leaves to pair with the trotters which is very authentic. The portion is definitely on the larger side. The medium set can easily feed 3-4 people. It was perfectly cooked. Even though it was boiled the seasonings and herbs used took out that gamey smell that pork has. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it was. We ordered a combo because it was just too worth it, even if it was just for 2 people - I would say the amount of food is enough for 4-5 people... The Korean ahjummas at the table next to us were judging us so hard the entire time. How did we know? Their whispers and pointing at our table lol. For $54.99, you get half and half pork trotters (mild and hot), kimchi jigae and soju. We also ordered riceballs + steamed egg, which we got for free for paying with cash. I usually get one of the two combinations: 1) half spicy & half nonspicy trotters 2) Bossam + non spicy trotter set. Both are very good depending on your mood for the day. I rarely use the word "gem" when describing restaurants, but I have to use it here because Jok Ga A Dong Chim is truly a gem. Metro Atlanta is lucky to have it. This is a chain from Seoul, South Korea that specializes in authentic Korean bossam (pork belly wraps) and jokbal (pig's trotters). This isn't the first Korean restaurant in Gwinnett to offer these items, but in my experience, it's certainly been the best. Currently, this is the chain's only location outside of Korea. It opened in Duluth in 2017. I've heard from Koreans that the bossam and jokbal here are even better than those found in Korea. Not only is the food great, but service and even the ambiance are stellar too. If you like good food and want to experience all that Atlanta has to offer culinary-wise, then I definitely recommend checking this place out. Jok Ga A Dong Chim is located in a small corner strip (Satellite Square) a couple doors down from popular Korean restaurant Jang Su Jang. It replaced Korean snack restaurant Yummy Place (https://www.yelp.com/biz/yummy-place-duluth-2) and is next door to Gopchang on Fire 2 (another unique Korean restaurant - they specialize in intestines; https://www.yelp.com/biz/gopchang-on-fire-2-duluth). They offer small, medium, and large size platters/sets of pork belly wraps, pig's trotters, and spicy sea snail salads for anywhere from $29.99 to $49.99 an order. These, of course, come with a bunch of banchan (side dishes) that are refillable. They also offer various combos that include kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew) and soju for $54.99 each. Presentation was outstanding. The bossam was served on a hot plate with a portable flame burner underneath. The burner wasn't there to cook the meat, but to keep it warm. Sides included crisp romaine lettuce, sliced raw garlic and jalapeno, a small side salad with a creamy dressing, pickled perilla leaves, kimchi, and a variety of spicy and pickled vegetables such as cabbage, chives, and daikon. Sauces included an onion-vinegar sauce and a salty shrimp sauce with a bit of jalapeno and cilantro. This was a phenomenal meal and probably the best bossam and jokbal I've had to date. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The pork belly was warm, soft, rich, and savory. The various tart, acidic, spicy, and in the case of the perilla leaves, sharp and aromatic, sides were perfect accompaniments. There's no right way to eat bossam. Some people like to make lettuce wraps while others pick at ingredients individually. I did both. The pig's trotters were excellent. They had terrific flavor and consistency. Nicely seasoned, sweet and smoky, with delectably thick and chewy skin, appetizing cartilage with wonderful mouthfeel, and lean and tender meat. Quality ingredients all around. The spicy tray noodles consisted of soba noodles topped with gochujang (red chili paste) and sesame seeds, surrounded by shredded greens and cabbage (green and red), julienned carrots and cucumber, and four hard-boiled egg wedges. These noodles are mixed at the table or in our case, tableside because there was too much stuff on our table already. The noodles were indeed spicy and also addictive. I couldn't stop eating them. Our servers, Bo and Kenny, were fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and elevated our dining experience. I've seen two translations for Jok Ga A Dong Chim. It's located in Duluth, GA on Satellite Blvd. Pretty much smack dab in the middle of what people like to label as K-Town in GA. I just refer to the area as Pleasant Hill, but to each their own I guess. Restaurant size, they can fit a decent crowd. Seating options include booths and single tables. Each table has a built in grill. I ended up ordering the Pig Trotterd and Pork Bossam package. It comes with a side assortment of small kimchi type dishes. Also ordered a side of the steamed egg souffle. They give you big portions here by the way. I pretty much consider this "drinking" food with how it's setup you definitely want to try pairing it with a beer like Hite or Cass. The pork is really tender and not too chewy.
