The lunch box has soondae, tempura, and kimbap alongside the topokki, great deal and you get an assortment of food so your search for different texture never gets old. I haven't found a better rosé topokki yet. It's buttery, cheesy, smooth, and creamy. If you dip a homeless man's finger in it, I will still probably lick it off. I've had dreams about that sauce from time to time. The other stuff was decent quality too. I can't remember much of it honestly. I am pleased to write a review for this restaurant. The owner is very kind that makes customers happy before eating. She wanted us to avoid paying the tip. However, you need to get your water, spoon, and chopsticks yourself. Of course, you should also clean up after yourself. All food is served in disposable bowls/dishes. The price was reasonable and tasty. Also, the owner gave us, as the first guest, mixed fries for free. Ramen is like a Budae-jjigae (Korean: 부대찌개; lit. army base stew). If you don't like spam or ham, ask the owner if you don't want them in your Ramen. Fish Cake Skewer soup was delicious. Came here Monday night to try this place out since it just opened up and heard it was a chain in Korea. FOOD: Original Topokki + boiled egg ($9.99 + $1) - Their topokki is the soupy kind where the sauce is more watery, rather than thick. The taste was flavorful, a little bit sweet with a spicy kick at the end, but felt under seasoned since we ate it with chopsticks. I would suggest eating it with a spoon so you get the rice cake with the sauce. There are 2 flavors, original and spicy. I've been told the original is spicy and the spicy one is VERY spicy. They ask if you want to add a boiled egg to the topokki. We decided to add it but didn't realize it was an extra $1 for each one. Small Mixed fries ($7.99) - It's basically a small sample platter of all the fried foods. It includes 1 fried shrimp, 1 fried sweet potato, 1 fried squid, 1 fried mandu (dumpling), and 1 fried seaweed roll (glass noodles wrapped in seaweed and fried) already cut up. I highly recommend dipping it in the sauce to balance out the oily taste of the fried foods. SERVICE: You order in the front and then find a seat. They serve to your table when the food comes out, but cups, plates, sauces, and napkins are all self-serve. From what we overheard, it seems like they are planning on keeping their limited menu while they get adjusted and will expand it as they get settled in. This was my second time coming here and my experience was nice as usual. Staff is always friendly and helpful and ordering is simple with an easy to read menu and basic options. I love self service kind of places like this one that are more similar to the restaurants in Korea with stations to serve yourself water, bowls, silverware, etc. The original tteokbokki was good with a nice spice level that came piping hot in a to go container. The portion size was big and shareable as usual which was great for my family. The large mixed fry plate however came with a smaller portion size than I remembered. Nonetheless, the food was great and fried perfectly and tasted great when dipped in the tteokbokki sauce. There have been mixed reviews about Kukde Toppoki so I decided that I needed to try it out before I can make a call. I personally am not the biggest fan of toppoki. Doesn't mean I don't like it -- I just don't really crave it, but we wanted a light lunch so we decided to check this place out. We visited on a weekday afternoon past lunch hour so it was pretty quiet. You order up front so you don't have to worry about tipping. We decided to get the topokki (not spicy) for $9.99 and add the flat noodles for $3. We also got the combination fried special small size for $7 and the choongmoo kimbap for around $7. They also gave us complimentary fish cake soup on the house because we asked for it. Because the place was slow when we visited, our food came out relatively quickly. We were served our food on one tray. Here is a review of each item. Topokki with Flat Noodles - I mainly don't like spicy rice cakes because I'm not good with spicy foods, but this dish was actually really good! It catered to more of the people who like sweet topokki. The rice cakes were plump and juicy and there was plenty of soup to dip your fried foods in! I actually liked it a lot and the spice were perfect! I will say, however, the flat noodles were not what we were expecting. They were super thin and it is not what they were advertising. I could be wrong, but I saw the next day someone on Instagram order the exact same thing and they got actual flat noodles. Mildly disappointing to say the least. Small Fried Combination - Apparently everyone raves about the fried dishes here, and it's true; they were pretty good. I loved the flat dumplings and the kimmari, and everything is crispy and delicious. It was a great accompaniment to the toppokki soup and I highly recommend you order this! Unfortunately I unintentionally got a sneak in the kitchen and it seems like they pre-fry all the fried dishes and refry it when you order. I wish it was as more fresh. Choongmoo Kimbap - This was also a pretty good dish; I liked the flavor of the kimchi/spicy squid and the mini kimbaps were perfectly seasoned. I would order this alone. Overall -- I would say I do like this place. Everything was good per my palate and I guess I'm one of those who do prefer this place. It's not the cheapest boonshik but we're in 2023 now so we gotta accept that and move on. I do want to try their rose topokki next so the next time I'm in Atlanta, I definitely will be back. One last thing -- I did find it disappointing that they were using plastic for even their dine in customers. Wish they were just a little more considerate about the environment! read more

We ordered almost everything on the menu for a company lunch and overall everyone liked everything! I personally preferred dishes other than their tteokbboki, which is ironic given that this is a tteokbboki place. I especially loved their kimbap! There's a variety you can choose from like tonkatsu, fried shrimp, squid etc, and there's a generous amount of filling in the kimbaps. As for the tteokbboki, I liked the texture of the rice cakes--it was super chewy and the rice cakes were pretty big. However, the sauce for the original was waaaay too sweet and the sauce for the rose one just tasted like cream soup. Overall, a solid place to get lunch! read more

Kukga taking over Manna street food location for a while now and my sister been begging to go with me since we both love Korean street food. This location is literally located in front of the neighborhood that I live, but never get the chance to go since they closed so early. One Sunday, the destiny Sunday that got both of us to get off work early and went there. The place is minimalistic and the person in the front is super nice. We thought it was a full out restaurant with server coming to us, that's why we sat down first not knowing you supposed to order first then take a sit. The menu is small but it has everything that you needed. The price was Georgia prices a few years back. My sister and I ordered everything on the menu except the ramen. We added egg and ramen into our Topbokki for $3 more, both kimbap was to die for, rather than order each individual fried items; we ordered the fried platter, which, comes with sweet potatoes, squid, shrimp, and dumplings. Always order the kimchi fried rice; you won't regret it. Finish everything off with the sparkling yogurt drinks, it sound disgusting but trust me! you won't regret it. The place is very clean with hand sanitizer in every table and station. The big AC vent is amazing, we were enjoying the meal and the coldness all at once. I went once when it first opened and then went once more today. I can't believe the difference in quality already. First off, the prices were pretty high to begin with. So fine, knowing that they carry street food dishes, I already knew it wasn't cheap. The assorted fried food has shrunken in almost half. They didn't change the oil so the fried foods were heavily speckled in burnt bits. The glass noodles that you can add on to your tteokbokki are $3 - that's not that cheap. What I got was 4 overcooked noodle pieces that fell apart while I tried to pick them up. The rosé tteokbokki was not actually rosé sauce but just like cream sauce that was so disappointing - it had the same taste as mac n cheese. That's not rosé... It's hard to find a great tteokbokki in Atlanta (yet) but there are way better places than here. This place is way too below standard and I'm not trying to be mean for no reason but whoever is doing the cooking doesn't seem to know the basics of cooking. If you're going to charge premium price for street food dishes - they should at least taste good. I don't mind paying a few more bucks if it is delicious. Won't go again. read more

I am Korean and this place is a terrible representation of the most basic of Korean street foods. The spam kimbap is too salty and has too much carrot. The tteokbokki comes in the most watery sauce I've ever had and is too sweet. The eomuk broth is also too salty. Finally the kimchi fried rice is not fried - it tastes like it was mixed in gochujang out of the microwave. I left some stars for the nice staff and the clean space and ideal location, but that is all. The food sucks. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Korean boonshik place in Duluth like BB myun or Danmooji. read more
