came for a visit a few months ago (sorry, life happened and I am behind on my reviews). It was around 4p, so the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated right away and given menus. I understand that they were in their soft opening phase so tempered my expectations. Pros: 1. service was good, the chef came out to check up on us too 2. the Bo Ne was flavorful and beautifully presented on a hot plate. The saltiness of the pate played well, but was a bit overpowering, so be careful when mixing everything up. Cons: 1. Please find a better place for your water station. I can see how having cups and exposed silverware right at the entrance and in grabbing distance of small kids can bring the ick factor 2. The Bo Ne portion was small. I ate this and was still hungry. It didn't match the $18 price point. 3. the kids menu is very limited, on the server's suggestion we opted for the Lil Banh Canh which is udon in a seafood broth. The broth was so light it almost tasted like water. The portion was very, very small. Again, not worth the $8 price point when I could have gotten her an actual bowl of pho for a few dollars more. 4. This is my second time here, I think my first time here is during their soft opening period, August 2025. I was with my friend for a girl's day date. Was greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. It doesn't have much seating, maybe 10-12 tables? I was seated right away and he brought the water, setups, and menu. I waited for my friend to arrive before ordering, giving her a chance to look over the menu. I already knew what I wanted... the Bun Bo Hue (it's what I got last time and really enjoyed it). It comes with a giant plate of veggies that I add to my bowl, along with some shrimp paste, chili crisps, and lime. I stirred it all up, made sure that the vegetables are soaking in the broth. The pork hock and beef were super tender and they gave you a generous portion of it. Very flavorful and definitely hit the spot on this cold day. My friend got a Thai tea and Bo Ne. The baguette that came with the dish is absolutely amazing. Crunchy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. I took a piece of it and dipped it in my soup. WOW!!! Next time I go back, I'll be sure to ask for a baguette for my Bun Bo Hue. She said the Thai tea is not overly sweet, which is enjoyable. Let me start off by saying that Vietnamese food is my top cuisine of all time. I LOVE Viet food! And have tried many places in Orange County, Bay Area, and Atlanta! The restaurant is in a plaza, so there are plenty of parking spots. The restaurant doesn't have a big sign yet, but you can see their logo and name on the front door. I took my parents here for lunch, and it was packed, probably because today is a holiday. They're still in their soft opening period, so the operation is a bit of a mess, but the staff are very nice, friendly, and working really hard to make up for it. They're definitely understaffed. There's no host, no waiting list, and no proper line. It's first come, first served in the sense that if you see an empty table, you can seat yourself. If you're waiting outside and someone else walks in and sees an open table, they can take it, even if you've been waiting longer. So if you're visiting as a group and the restaurant is full, it's best to have at least one person wait inside to grab a table as soon as one opens up. There were only two servers covering the entire restaurant: taking orders, bringing water, utensils, and food. It would save everyone time if napkins, utensils, and condiments were already set at the table. But maybe they're still figuring things out. Right now, the tables are completely cleared between customers, so every time new guests sit down, the servers have to run back and forth for all the basics. Since it's a soft opening, the menu is very simple, just five items and soft drinks. Our table had three people. After placing our orders, the chicken wings were brought out and left on the table, but we had to wait quite a while for two sets of utensils. They were so busy that even though we asked multiple times for the third set, it never came, so I ended up grabbing it myself from the utensil cart. We tried 3 out of the 5 dishes on their menu: - Bún bò Huế: Tasty, but a bit too spicy. It's supposed to be spicy, but maybe next time I'll ask if they offer a milder broth option. - Bánh canh: The broth was good. The noodles were a bit too thick and large for my taste. The shrimp and quail eggs were fresh, which I appreciate. Many places use canned quail eggs, but this restaurant uses fresh ones. - Umami wings: Not greasy, which is great. I liked that the flavor wasn't overly salty or seasoned. You check out at the cashier, but when they asked for my table number, I realized there were no numbers on any of the tables. A server had to come with me so I could point out our table, and he could identify the number. Even then, they got the order wrong. I listed everything we had, and he read back something completely different. I had to repeat our order several times. Luckily, I had included a special note with our order, and they were eventually able to find it, but it was logged under the wrong table number. All in all, the food, especially the noodles, was good. I'll likely return once things are more organized or when it's less crowded. For now, takeout might be the better option. read more

When I visited, they were still in their "very soft" opening so there are very limited items on their menu, maybe seven items or so? The staff are very friendly and will come around to ask how you are doing so it seems like they value feedback. There is an okay amount of seating inside. We got the Bun Bo Hue, which is what this place specializes in. I thought it was pretty good, especially the meats! The cha lua or pork sausage was really tasty with a kick of black pepper noticeable in each bite. Although I will say the broth tasted a bit too sweet for me initially, but after adding chili oil it helped a lot. I think this place has a lot of potential. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and I'm very glad I did. I'd never had bun bo hue and being a fan of pho and Vietnamese food in general I had to remedy that. Delicious broth, ample protein, and fresh veggies it was delightful on a cold day. I conferred with the staff to make sure I prepared mine correctly and they were incredibly kind and helpful. I believe the owner or at least head chef was there that day and she was a delight as well. When you have BBH in your name. I expect it to be top 3 BBH within 15 miles radius. Unfortunately this is not the case. The flavor is mix between Hue style and Da Nang style where it was neither good for either style. The broth was not flavorful enough. The "nam" or flank is not tender enough yet. I think the people who work there are extremely kind they greet all their customers and try to make sure everything is good. I have to say I went on a random Thursday and it wasn't super busy so the service was fantastic! I will say it's kinda expensive vs all the other Vietnamese places. I love the original Banh canh cua with the crab pieces in my soup better than the fried soft shell crab. I got a side of pork blood and it was fantastic! The softest I've ever had. First of all we are Asian- but not Vietnamese. The inside was nice, spacious, and smelled like good food. Service was good, no complaints. Everyone was very friendly. We got the Saigon Pizza, Special Banh Canh, and restaurants name sake: the Bun Bo Hue. And not to skip over our drinks we also got two Thai Teas. Lets start with our break down. Saigon Pizza - Very crispy, small but very filling, sauce was nice, and toppings were well seasoned. It definitely needed the sauce, which was provided. Overall very good, but not something we would order on our own. If we came with friends, then it would definitely be ordered though. Special Banh Canh - Reread the very first sentence and take this with a grain of salt. We had never had something like this before- and even with all the accoutrements (such as shrimp paste, chili oil, and lots of veggies) the broth was still blander than we were expecting. Not too sure if it is supposed to be this way, as we have never had it before. The noodles were starchy and had a nice chew. It came out boiling hot which we think may have contributed to the overcooked shrimp. It came with tempura soft shell crab- which in our opinion was very oily as the batter was crispy, but too thick and it held the oil. Overall we will not be ordering this again. Bun Bo Hue - AMAZING! We will be driving here solely for this. Flavours were great, very beefy yet still light. The noodles were perfectly cooked. It had a TON of toppings. Lots of meats, and the veggies added with extra chili oil and some lime made for a delicious meal. Thai Iced Tea - We ended up ordering two because the first was a bit too sweet for our tastes, (this is coming from the two people who order 25% sugar whenever getting milk teas though). The menu is still simple with about 6-7 dishes, but each one is done carefully and thoughtfully. Bún Bò Huế is the star of the show The broth is light, fragrant, and full of flavor--you really don't need to add anything. To me, this is the kind of "authentic taste" I grew up with. Toppings are generous and fresh: brisket, Vietnamese ham (chả), pork hock, and congealed pork blood--all cleaned and cooked right. Big plus: the herbs and greens are fresh, well-prepared, and finely shredded, just like how it's done in Huế. The other dishes are just as impressive: * Bánh tráng cuốn thịt heo (pork & veggie rolls) - pork slices are super thin, veggies fresh, and the fermented anchovy dipping sauce is perfectly balanced. * Bánh canh (Vietnamese thick noodle soup) - loaded with toppings like quail eggs, shrimp, squid, pork hock. WTF!? That was really good! Walking in, I loved the ambience of the restaurant. It was like I felt the energy of some bomb ass food happening here. My wife's BBH looked so good that I had to eat some of her bowl. The soup tasted very rich and special. I will definitely order my own bowl next time. The temperature inside was 78 degrees, kind of toasty for my comfort, but gave me nostalgic southeast asia vibes (loud, hot, sound of the kitchen and vietnamese music blasting). Maybe their AC is broken because there was a fan near the cashier. Food was phenomenal. We tried Bun Bo Hue, Banh Canh, Umami Wings and Saigon Pizza. Bun Bo Hue was flavorful and refreshing, Banh Canh had thick noodles (like korean kalguksu) with a rich savory broth. Umami Wings were phenomenal, savory and sweet, perfectly fried and seasoned. Saigon Pizza was good, just a tad bit too heavy and thick. We saw someone order Bo Ne near us and it looked really good. Overall, their limited menu has very delicious items. Came on a Saturday there was a line & it wasn't opened till 12pm so we waited 15m outside in line. We were second in line but after we were seated they took our order last, & gave us water last too?? They have only 10 tables or less in there but could not keep up with 2 waiters. Service was awful, it's not first come first serve and I ordered a sprite and had to remind them 5x before they brought it. They also forgot to bring our veggies which we also had to tell them, we also asked for plates for the side dishes which was never brought. Food was decent but we've had better Bun Bo Hue at Pho Dai Loi, Broth was a bit spicy if you don't want it too spicy don't add the Sate they give you. Would've been better if they provided fish sauce or condiments on the tables. We also ordered Saigon Pizza which was good and wings that were ok but the sauce is too sweet. Ambiance is small and clean, bathroom is a bit messy with boxes everywhere not very clean. Overall a 5/10 experience. Not bad but we probably won't return. read more

I was told by my friends this place was great for BBH, so I tried. And I was so BLOWN away, broth was fresh and refined, noodles cooked perfectly, veggiesx3, and all the meats were perfect portions! Coming back and brining everyone with me. Place has about 20 tables, chill and relaxing atmosphere, staff is super friendly. In summary, it was bowl drinking good. read more

Bun Bo Hue Kitchen Walked into Bun Bo Hue Kitchen on a Saturday evening after a nice Marshall's run across the street. I'm not sure if we walked into their soft opening but that's what the menu mentioned. Upon arrival it was busy! A very good type of busy where they're still able to look for somewhere for you to sit down which I loved. We were able to comfortably sit and take in that community vibe that the restaurant brings. It's so amazing to see a kitchen work so flawlessly while maintaining laughter and passion all in one. I've been in the restaurant industry for some time so I know how stressful it is to run a kitchen. The server let us know that the Bun Bo Hue had a wait of 15 minutes, you certainly can't rush perfection so I waited happily. In the meantime I was able to snack on some Xiu Mai (meatballs) with a side of bread. This is a perfect little appetizer for the upcoming season. Definitely so delicious and the cilantro note was amazing!! I was able to taste a fresh pot of Bun Bo Hue shortly after and man was it worth it. I've had Bun Bo Hue during my earlier travels along Buford Hwy...BUT This is certainly the best. Perfect spice and great umami, good amount of beef too just WOW. I see why this restaurant has the name. I highly recommend you all to try this. Staff is awesome and the area is not too spacious but it's comforting enough to enjoy a well prepared dish. My sister was able to accompany me today and she tried the Banh Canh. The udon noodles were the perfect amount of thick (; Broth was savory and the mixture of ingredients was so delicious. I recommend the Banh Canh for something more on the lighter side since it's not spicy but well balanced. I'm wishing this business a lifetime of success and hope it maintains its delicious food and lively customer service. read more
