11/25 Bo Bun Hue to go
Georgia B.

This review is based on my early Sunday afternoon takeout. +.  Ambiance is a busy and lively international food court. There were some available seating but I'd probably do takeouts from here. Pho Tai is located in the Duluth City Farmer's Market "food court". There's a "separate" food court entrance to the left of the main grocery entrance. ++.  Food is Vietnamese pho and more. I came here for their Bun Bo Hue. My to-go BBH came out after a few minutes. I found they did a great job packaging... round noodles separate from the broth, included condiments and fresh veggies. I mixed and seasoned (added chili sauce but not shrimp paste) BBH to my liking and enjoyed it. It was quite good, especially the broth. It was spicy, richer and more complex than the pho broth. Protein wise, they included plenty especially if you like the congealed blood cubes and pork sausages. The blood cubes were quite dense. I think I'll always have it to-go b/c it was easy to include the unprocessed beef that I wanted and not the others. A very minor thing I would request is that they add more lime slices. One tiny quarter wasn't enough and it was good that I had one already at home. ++ Price is reasonable and a very good value given both quality and quantity. Cash preferred and additional fee (few %) if you use credit cards. + Service was prompt and easy. + Parking is a shared lot in a hectic shopping center. Over all, Pho Tai is worth revisiting especially during the cold weather! MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!

Banh Canh Cua

Checked out Pho Tai located inside City Farmer Market's food court. I've tried the following: * Banh Canh Cua | Vietnamese Seafood Udon Noodle Soup ($15) * Com Bo Luc Lac | Shaking Beef with Rice ($17) * Pho Dac Biet | Special Pho ($13) Veggies are fresh. The Banh Canh Cua has tons of crab meat and shrimp cake. The broth is super flavorful. The beef in the Com Bo Luc Lac is tender and well seasoned. Service is excellent. Orders are taken at the register, food is brought out to you. Water and utensils are self-serve. Cash preferred, but will accept credit cards with a 3% processing fee. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area looking for a quick good meal.

I had spotted this food court adjacent to the grocery store while in town for an event and wanted to come back and actually try another spot. They were closed so I came heat for a quick, hot meal. I know they have pho but wanted to try something else, so I got the bun bo hue. Paid at the counter and they brought my meal out to me. I like a little spice and kept adding condiments until I got to chili oil. A little goes a long way, and after that the meal got sinus-clearing. Glad I stopped by, and my meal hit the spot.

My new favorite Vietnamese spot is in a foodcourt. Yes this place beats so many other official restaurants for Pho and BBH. The pho is the OG saigon style IYKYK. A must try if you are in the area.

I had bun rieu ot and dried noodles with broth on the side . Very delicious and flavorful, definitely recommend ; it's located inside the market .

Currently my favorite pho spot. Nothing fancy. Just a little family own shop in a food court. The menu is limited as well as the language barrier though it's never been a problem with ordering. Just point and be respectful. The grandma and grandpa always do their best. Special pho all the way everyday. There's only one size and it really is a perfect portion. Broth is flavorful on its own. Definitely getting your msg fix. I like to have Hoisen and Sriracha on the side to add as I eat to change it up. Herbs are guaranteed always fresh especially being in the City Market food court, there's no excuse. I have noticed though that there have been some inconsistencies when I order the special pho. It usually comes with all the fixings as well as pickled onions and green onion but recently it hasn't.. as well as the broth seems to have changed the last time I've been.. Attached pictures are from different days.

This is located in the food court in City's Farmers Market on Pleasant Hill road. The entire seating area isn't too impressive honestly, but you can ignore all that because of how legit the food is here. Now I've only tried one thing here and it's the Bun Bo Hue. Probably the best I've had in a long time maybe even the best in the state. It's not too heavy, but still packed with lots of flavor. It's not as sweet as some other places and the saltiness level is just right. It's spicy without being too hot that the flavor gets masked in it. Definitely coming back just for the Bun Bo Hue. It's amazing!

This gem is located in the food court inside City Farmers Market. The pho broth is on POINT! So good, I didn't even have to add any extra condiments. Seems like they only have one size or I would of upgraded. My kids got their own bowls and they both finished theirs and even asked for more. Nothing was wasted, broth, noodles, and proteins were gone by the time we left. Yes, the service lacks a bit but the pho here is good asf! After this experience, this is my permanent go to for Pho.

Found out this place through friend, she recommended us to try Pho & Bun Bo Hue. Both good & friendly customer service. It's inside City Farmer food court.

Loved the food and I loved the affordability! I got the bún bò hue and it was perfect in terms of spice for me. I was sad to see that they had downsized a lot from the menu. They no longer serve bánh khốt or bánh xèo, but I recommend for a nice casual lunch.

Great pho! Being Vietnamese we are pretty picky with our food but this spot is our go-to. My gf and I are always greeted by the owner and she is extremely nice! It's family operated. They put a lot of love into the food. Definitely support this small family business if you're ever in Duluth and craving pho.

What a find! This is a no frills place, except for the food. I went with the Fried Chicken chunks…read morewith the Soy Ginger sauce. The breading on the chicken was great. The flavor, the crunch were both great and the sauce was super tasty! I also got the fried Brussels Sprouts, which on their own were great, but I dumped the last bit of them into the Soy Ginger sauce after I finished the chicken and that took it to another level! My wife got the Build Your Own Turkey Burger. It was pretty plain (picked and mustard) but she raved about the flavor. She said it was juicy and had great flavor. The team working the night we were there were great, super helpful and friendly.

I was feeling a burger and out of all the places in Duluth/Norcross, nothing outside of fast food was open or non-existent and I'm not driving past Beaver Ruin to find something and nor am I going further than Duluth Hwy. So I needed something and thankfully, Yelp was the resource I needed. I typed in "burgers" in Duluth and Craft Burger by Shane popped up and to my surprise, the Duluth location is the ONLY one that is open till 3am six days a week and since I've never been, I needed to try it and since I was feeling burgers, this option was perfect! Upon arriving at the place, it's near the Soel La Boel Korean restaurant off Old Norcross and Pleasant Hill across from the Toyota Dealership. When walking in, it's a corner joint with a very spacious interior that's clean, well lit, and offers roughly 50 seats. To order, it's kiosk based but their menu is extensive so you might need to do your homework first before coming in or order ahead. The only service they offer is from kitchen to table but you bus your own stuff which seems to be the model for these fast sit down places. Now for the food. The burgers are thick 6 oz patties. Can't really tell if they're seasoned as it seems like the cheese, your veggies, and whatever sauce you asked for seems to carry the flavor and not the burger patties themselves. But the patties are thick boys and you definitely get hit with strong beefy flavors. Think old school Big Mac in terms of size but with better quality ingredients. The bun is lightly toasted that ensures your burger holds it's shape and for the most part, it's a flavorful bun as well.. I opted for the build your own burger which starts at $12 then w/ the extra patty is another $4 and then their signature custom items are a la carte and you add one item as you go along from fried egg to grilled mushrooms etc. They offer fries and a drink meal for an addition $6. I love their fries! Long, crispy, yet you can taste the potatoes! Delicious fries and they offer other flavors of fries like truffle or buffalo flavors. When I compiled my items between the additional patty and the meal deal, I was already was looking at a $21 burger meal with is comparable to some of their competitors like Burger Fi or Burger 21 which all share the same concept but Burger by Shane seems to have better ingredients. All in all, this place is fantastic! Highly recommend Craft Burger by Shane, especially when it's after midnight and you need a quick fix for a burger!

The Ramen came out in a togo container which i was surprised by had very little garnish no scallions and the noodles weren't even cooked all the way sadly, i know its ramen and takes only a few minutes to cook but that was a little sad, the broth was the saving grace, cause it was spicy, salty and had a lot of flavor. I really wanted to like everything, the chicken was perfect but the seasonings were not. I got fried chicken breast with cheese powder and I have never gotten it before so I wasn't prepared for it to taste like straight sugar. I also got the soy garlic sauce and no soy or garlic flavor was apparent to me which I love it was a light almost white sticky sauce on it. So I dont know of someone put the wrong sauce? I have had soy garlic sauce at other korean chicken places and its a thinner consistency more garlic and soy forward flavor and it usually brown. Maybe their version just doesnt have that. Not really hitting the spot. Also I guess I was supposed to get a salad with my meal but it was just shredded cabbage. The pictures show a green salad that other people have posted. Sadly disappointed on that note. The dressing was sweet too. The corn salad was sweet and cabbage filled. The onion mayo had a whisper of onion flavor and again I dont know if that is how its supposed to be. On last thing the spicy mayo had absolutely ZERO SPICE. Non existent spice spicy mayo made me sad. So if you like pink mayo, get that one. The cubed pickled daikon was the only thing that wasn't sweet and it was a nice relief from all the sugar. Maybe I should have gotten the spice chicken batter instead of the original. I want to try it again and approach it from a different angle on the menu. The chicken was perfectly fried moist and crispy. I really hope to update this with a different experience some time. It was a nice cozy little place near hmart.

Good fried chicken is hard to find, especially for someone like me…read more I have been blessed with health ailments along with an extremely picky stomach that can't tolerate greasy foods. Along with that blessing, I find myself being addicted to everything that makes me sick. Life hands you lemons, ya eat it anyway. So imagine my surprise when I dig into a box of fried chicken and don't see grease collecting around the entire box. It can't taste good if it's not greasy, right? I was delightfully proven wrong. The chicken was juicy af. Yes, so juicy I actually said wtf. The meat was tender, the skin was crunchy. And it was like an ASMR session kind of crunchy. I would've recorded the sound but unfortunately I'm allergic to ASMR. I'll be honest, when I first saw 98k Chicken I didn't have high expectations. I thought it would be another Zaxby's, Popeyes, KFC, etc. But they've really set themselves apart! The price is far more reasonable than other chain fried chicken restaurants, the portions are bigger, and the quality of the food is consistently superior. If they're able to keep up with what they're doing, I think this will be a community favorite. Good food speaks for itself, and so do the kind owners that pour their hearts and souls into their businesses. When I go to a fast food restaurant, I barely expect people to look at me in the eye, let alone carry on a conversation with me. But the woman at the counter is actually quite chatty! She makes you feel like you're talking to a friend, and if you stop by a few times, she even shares tea. IYKYK. The interior space is big and quiet enough if you wanna grab a meal and get some work done. There's a little room that's sectioned off, and it's a bit of a gem. I don't remember if they have WiFi, next time I go I'll check and come back to update my review.

If you aren't picking up what I'm putting down....they have something for EVERYONE. I got there around 10:30AM, so I grabbed some breakfast. I got a Crème Brûlée latte and a ham and cheese pastry. The pastry was the perfect breakfast snack! It was honestly quite filling. The latte was perfect too! For lunch, I got some fries and their chicken nuggets. The boba is always cooked well and their custard pudding is smooth and delicious. I met a friend here to get some work done and we opted to sit in one of the booths to have a little bit of privacy. Well, what a disappointment, the seats are are torn up and the foam is exposed, the table is super wobbly, so to get any writing done... it's not ideal. After a few minutes, we decided it's time to move to the benches. One of the table is still a bit wobbly, but not as bad as the one in the booth. The seats are in good condition with pillows to support your back, a plus! What really ruined our work time is this lady coming in soliciting for people to give her money. I'm not sure if the staff is aware that she keeps coming in and going out multiple times going around to every table. She asked us 3 different time during our entire time there. As people are working and having a snack and enjoying quality time with friends and family, the last thing I want is someone coming up to my table and ask for money.
