My fourth time here and I always forget how much food they give you!! This chicken is soooo yummy! We tried some diff things today: Fried shrimp, onion rings and the mochi donuts! All good. The person behind the counter was ok. Not too friendly which is fine but also I think he was doing the table service and counter service. The Ramen came out in a togo container which i was surprised by had very little garnish no scallions and the noodles weren't even cooked all the way sadly, i know its ramen and takes only a few minutes to cook but that was a little sad, the broth was the saving grace, cause it was spicy, salty and had a lot of flavor. I really wanted to like everything, the chicken was perfect but the seasonings were not. I got fried chicken breast with cheese powder and I have never gotten it before so I wasn't prepared for it to taste like straight sugar. I also got the soy garlic sauce and no soy or garlic flavor was apparent to me which I love it was a light almost white sticky sauce on it. So I dont know of someone put the wrong sauce? I have had soy garlic sauce at other korean chicken places and its a thinner consistency more garlic and soy forward flavor and it usually brown. Maybe their version just doesnt have that. Not really hitting the spot. Also I guess I was supposed to get a salad with my meal but it was just shredded cabbage. The pictures show a green salad that other people have posted. Sadly disappointed on that note. The dressing was sweet too. The corn salad was sweet and cabbage filled. The onion mayo had a whisper of onion flavor and again I dont know if that is how its supposed to be. On last thing the spicy mayo had absolutely ZERO SPICE. Non existent spice spicy mayo made me sad. So if you like pink mayo, get that one. The cubed pickled daikon was the only thing that wasn't sweet and it was a nice relief from all the sugar. Maybe I should have gotten the spice chicken batter instead of the original. I want to try it again and approach it from a different angle on the menu.The chicken was perfectly fried moist and crispy. I really hope to update this with a different experience some time. Located in the same plaza as the Duluth H-Mart, it was an easily accessible location before or after a grocery trip in Duluth. We noticed they had some nice KFC lunch specials so we ventured inside. We were lured in by the daily lunch special (available 11:30-2:30pm) which is a half fried chicken with corn salad for $12. We tried the crispy spicy and it was a hit - not TOO spicy and a perfect balance of crispy & saucy. My eyes also strayed from the lunch special to the chicken parmesan on the regular "new" menu - I'm always a sucker for chicken parm and if they can fry chicken parm the way they do their Korean fried chicken... all in all, it was just ok. I did love how cheesy and saucy it was, and it was a HUGE portion for $15. I appreciate that the menu isn't just all Korean fried chicken - so definitely recommend Pelicana if you're craving Korean fried chicken but would also want to try other non KFC items as well! read more

I love eating Korean fried chicken, so my brother in-law brought is to Pelicana for dinner. The restaurant's food did not disappoint, and their service was SO amazing! We started with french fries in truffle sauce just because we were hungry just looking at the menu. We ordered a plate of Bulgolgi fried rice, which had lots of bulgolgi meat on top of a heaping pile of fried rice. It also comes with a small side salad, and the dressing was delicious. It was a refreshing creamy dressing that didn't overpower the vegetables. For our entree, we ordered Half fried chicken in Honey Garlic sauce. The half serving is literally half of a chicken: a piece of chicken breast, a drum, one wing and thigh piece. I ordered extra pickled radish, which they give a good extra side portion since you're paying extra for it. The chicken is crunchy but not over done or hard. The flavor is outrageous. I loved the food at Pelicana. They're open late, so it's a great option for a late night snack. Definitely recommend! read more

I think I was looking for a kick in the fried chicken or more of a crunch but not too bad! I'd probably come back to try different items on the menu. Fair pricing for kfc. Fried Chicken: I got the whole chicken with crispy batter and half honey garlic half sweet and spicy. The chicken took about 20 minutes to come out and was piping hot and juicy. The honey garlic tasted sweet and really buttery. The sweet and spicy was my favorite and the level 2 wasn't too bad. Less spicy than carbonara buldak. Next time, I'm gonna try the level 3. Love that they give you 3 sides. Really cuts through the grease. Mochi Cheese Balls: These were unlike any other cheese appetizer I've ever tried. It was like a cheese stuffed mochi donut. It came with 5 balls and the $10 price was a bit much, but the cheese pulls and texture were really satisfying. These took about 10 minutes to come out. Yes! I am a fan!!! Korean chicken fried chicken reminds me of my mommy's home cooked fried chicken in a castor iron pan, cooked to crispy perfection!!! We decided to grab a bite to eat on the late night tip and this places is actually open pretty late for the area, so we ended up dining in. We were greeted at the door right away and basically told to seat ourselves where we wanted to sit. The server/cashier was very polite and knew a lot about the menu as-well as popular items ......so he made a few suggestions. We ended up ordering the honey garlic wings, and trust me, they did not disappoint.....they actually hit pretty hard! The wings came with a side item so we went ahead and ordered the sweet potato fries which instantly became another favorite! We also ordered the garden salad to balance everything out, I wasn't a fan of the balsamic vinaigrette that was served with the garden salad but, again everything was a hit at this place. -Price point was great -Good Parking -Friendly service -Clean cute restaurant -Hefty portions -Beer on tap -Good for groups BTW: they also have beer, we ordered a blue moon to chase everything down. My cheat day meal was at Pelicana Chicken and it was so worth it! Came here with a friend and the restaurant is very calming. There is an order system in place where the servers come once you click the button. There is an option to make your chicken crispy and/ spicy. I ordered the honey garlic crispy wings and they were delicious. The batter has the perfect crunch and it was bursting with flavor. My friend and I came during lunch, but our meal did not receive the lunch special. Not sure why. Overall, I'll be back to try a new flavor wing. This is our go-to whenever the craving for KFC strikes. The chicken always comes out SUPER crispy, veryveryvery juicy, and just an explosion of flavor and lovely textures. I just can't find any other place that does chicken like this. We've gone to other KFC joint, and that crispy to juicy ratio is just not like how they do it here. We typically get half original for the kiddo. Then we go back and forth between sweet and spicy or the honey garlic sauce. Next all time fave is their Camembert cheese fries. Their sides (shredded cabbage, some kind of slaw, and fresh radish) are nothing life changing but it pairs so well with the chicken. My least fave would be their white rice - it's quite dry and seems to be the cheaper kind. But oh well, we didn't come here for the rice. All in all, we highly recommend. I was sad to see two Yummy Place Chicken locations closed down recently. I'm still trying to find a favorite KFC spot in Gwinnett. I know I still need to try Choong Man and Thank U Chicken. So far, my love's favorite spot is Bb.q Olive Chicken (Duluth and Doraville locations). I like them too, but I also enjoy Pelicana, which we've tried twice now. The first time we ordered from here, we got the soy garlic chicken, which is generally how we are used to eating KFC from Maui back home. I believe we also ordered the cheese sticks, calamari, and truffle fries. All were good takeout items from what I recall. This was several months back on a late night takeout order. I think that's my favorite thing about Pelicana is that they stay open till midnight usually and will accept your phone order late, as opposed to Bb.q Olive Chicken, which closes about 9 nightly. Thursday night, it was late, and we had a lot going on at home, so I decided to try to order Uber Eats from here with a discount I had. I got us the spicy half soy garlic chicken (all breast meat) and garden salad with extra ranch for chicken dipping (all to be plated up with rice at home). Everything arrived on time and accurately, packaged well. The chicken was way too spicy for my husband. He didn't seem to enjoy it as the spice detracted from the flavor for him. I personally liked it, just dipping in ranch and mayo on the side seemed to help cut the heat for me and with the rice and salad on the side. The garden salad itself was good with lots of shredded veggies like carrots, cherry tomatoes, red onion, etc., and topped with parmesan. Overall, it was a filling, tasty meal, and I'd take KFC from here over ordering from KFC any day lol. This is the 2nd time we were terribly disappointed with the stinginess of the White Cheese Powder seasoning from the Duluth location. The Duluth location barely gives you a single tiny dash of cheese and charges you $2 extra. They season your chicken as if the cheese is made of gold or something? We NEVER had this issue at the ATL Midtown location. See the pic, the chicken is NAKED. Duluth location also nickels and dimes you for the crispy or spicy batter too. Midtown doesn't charge $2 extra for crispy spicy... $20 fried combo was mediocre at best. There was a surprising amount of calamari but the cheese balls are not good. We got a takeout order in a late Wednesday night. We had issues with the third party service for ordering our food, so this review will be based entirely on the food! The crispy sandwich was the winner here for me! The honey garlic sauce was very garlicky with a small kick to it! The chicken was juicy and the toppings inside were crunchy. The fries and the soy garlic wings were pretty good. I wish the fries had a bit more seasoning to them, and I wish the soy garlic wings had more sauce them. This is a pretty typical Korean chicken joint. The menu covers just what you'd expect - a few flavors of sauces to toss the chicken. I can't speak too much to the service because it simply is typical for the area - restaurants around here have kind staff that are pretty accommodating. For the most part, they assume you understand the rules of the game when it comes to eating at a Korean restaurant. Ask for gloves for your chicken if you want and don't just expect them. Review the menu, but understand how you are ordering your chicken based on the breakdown it gives rather than getting clarification from the servers. They are careful to warn you about spice levels; they just don't make as many recommendations as American restaurants usually might. Come hungry because the best way to order is by getting the half-and-half so you get two different flavors. The soy garlic is a good pairing for any spicy option. Pitchers of beer are a hit, and this location also serves raspberry wine which is an added bonus for us wheat-water-haters out here. This spot is comparable to bb.q Chicken - though the radishes here are better! - and a few others (which I think are not at their highest points right now, so I won't mention them), but I find it more intimate. The menu doesn't get as extensive, but it also doesn't need to do that. On unknowingly national fried chicken day, we came here since well, I was craving for some fried chicken. Knowing that our favorite KFC spot closed we were back on the search for a new KFC spot. We landed here, Pelicana Chicken. It was pretty empty when we got there, but there were plenty of takeouts. As far as what we got, we got half and half one half was the original fried chicken and the other half we got garlic. Foodwise, I liked the original fried chicken, but we got it extra crispy and damn it was super crispy. The garlic was alright, but I would have to say that I enjoyed the original over the two because the sauce I think was just okay, there was good garlic flavor but meh nothing special. Service was awesome though and I have to say it was pretty quick as far as the chicken coming out. I can definitely see me coming back here for some KFC, but next time I think I'll just stick to the extra fried/crispy OG chicken. read more

The chicken is flavorful and so tender.The service is great, and always willing to help you find an option that suits your party needs. The chicken hits the spot and a good portion for the price. This location's menu is more diverse than most, as they have some sandwiches, pasta, and healthy items to help balance your fried chicken feast. The salads are fresh. You can choose from dark or white meat boneless, whole chicken, or bone-in. Different breading options to choose from also. The portion sizes are huge, so for two people, I recommend ordering a half and half sauce split. There are so many different types of drinks and beer to choose from, so take a look at the case when you enter. You can always order more later if you are still hungry. My favorite items here are: 1. Soy garlic boneless crispy chicken thigh 2. Powder covered cheese fries 3. Powder cheese covered boneless crispy chicken thigh 4. Cheese sticks Yep, it's all the fried stuff, but oh so tasty! Dropped by after a hair appointment around 2PM on Saturday. I've heard a lot of good things about Pelicana so I was excited to come by. There's only a few tables but I was able to get seated. They have a lunch special every day (including weekends) from around 11:30AM -2:30PM. There's a few things you can pick from but I got the half chicken + fries + drink. I chose the Soy Garlic (with bones). Honestly I was a bit disappointed. The chicken wasn't very crispy. The soy garlic wasn't saucy glaze like most places. I didn't taste much garlic and they just seemed to drizzle some soy sauce or something on top, which just ended up pooling at the bottom of the basket. I just didn't get much flavor at all. The fries were nice though - some light parmesan and thick and crispy. The lunch special is a pretty decent deal at only $14. Definitely a good amount of food for one person. Service was great. They were very nice and friendly. It's like other Korean places where you use the bell on your table to ask for help. Honestly not sure if I would come back. So I absolutely love Korean fried chicken. I have been to probably a dozen KFC joints around Atlanta. Pelicana is BY FAR the best of the bunch. For starters, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. They actually recognize repeat customers and are always helpful with ordering and during the meal. Like many Korean places, they use the table button for service which is always nice, and they answer quickly. Second, they are the only place that allows you to specify only chicken breast. I've been to so many KFC places where my meal is ruined by disgusting fatty thigh meat where I have to keep spitting our giant disgusting globs of fat. Not here! When I order the boneless breast only, I get only tender white meat that is delicious and edible. The soy garlic boneless breast is the best KFC in the city by far, especially when paired with one of their fabulous sauces (creamy onion!!). 10/10! Love them! read more

Portions are generous and extra points for complimentary refills on sides (unlike other Korean fried chicken places). You're able to choose the type of batter - I found the crispy batter too hard to bite into, the original was the perfect crispy. There are also 3 levels of spicy - I personally found level 2 to be mild, good for those who can't do spice but still want a slight kick. The plain fried chicken, sweet&spicy, and honey garlic were very good. The sauces are a bit watery but still full of flavor. This is a small calm place to sit at end enjoy some Korean fried chicken. I got the fried shrimp, cheese balls, sweet potato fries and the sweet and spicy chicken level 1. It wasn't too spicy but had a good amount if you just want slight spice present. The flavor was really good and the chicken was very crispy even with the sauce on it so I thoroughly enjoyed that. The cheese balls were also good and not like any battered cheese dish that I tried before. The dough had a bit of sweetness to it. My boyfriend got the original crispy spicy.
