I have been here 3 times and never had a complaint. This is a Michelin Guide restaurant and I want to try all the items. So far I have had the pho twice, the rice cubes, and the shaking beef. Everything tasted great. Big parking lot for free parking. It is amazing how similar my visits have been. Staff was not as attentive as I would have like. My table had everything I needed so my meal was not interrupted. Getting my bill took longer than expected. I think the servers do not want to interrupt your meal but I wish they would come by more often. This place looks a little rough on the outside but it is extremely clean and some what fancy on the inside. The combination Pho has all the different types of meat. I remember the meatballs, flank steak, and tripe. Next time I will get something simpler. read more

It's so funny to read my old reviews from 2012 when DIY rolls were $8.95 - now they're $16.95! This place has definitely gotten busier since their "Michelin recommended" award so be mindful of seating and the limited parking spaces - call ahead to verify if it's ok to park on the side street. Service is super attentive - so many times different servers asked if we were ready to order. DIY ROLL WITH BBQ CHICKEN - $16.95 Nice thinly sliced chicken pieces - tasted like breast? I like Nam Phuong. I don't dislike this place...but I don't get the hype. I've eaten here several times and have covered the spread in terms of what they have to offer. I think their dishes although prepared authentically are underwhelming in terms of the depths in flavor and really the soul of Vietnamese food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese food for a standard issue white girl. The pork patty was dry and likely made at the beginning of the week and just reheated as the week went on. It was pretty bland and had this rubbery overly bouncy consistency and literally snapped when I bit into it. It basically got lost amongst all the fresh herbs too. As you can tell from the photo the Bánh bột chiên was burnt and it ended up being burnt on both sides. The squares were cut too thick...and because they were cut too thick they were on the mushy side even after being overly pan fried. All of the veg was fresh and well cleaned, the rice noodles were not overly sticky and clumped together. The pickled carrot/daikon were tasty. The server I had was attentive and polite. The interior was as to be expected and I couldn't care less that it's a little rough around the edges. If the tile isn't cracked, if the booth's vinyl isn't taped up, the utensils aren't mismatched and the tables aren't wobbly then I don't trust the place!! Like I said-I don't dislike it here. I just don't see the hype. Then again I feel like I have to piece together my favorite dishes from several spots between Doraville/Chamblee and Duluth, so maybe it's because I haven't found one place that checks all the boxes and I can get all my favs from one place. Nam Phuong is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Atlanta. You just can not find better. The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and fast. Your food will come fast and hot. My favorite to get is the family dinner for 4. As for the soup, get the shrimp: my opinion it's better than the fist. The shaking beef, catfish casserole are solid choices. Absolutely delicious! I had family in town for work so we wanted to find something close to his hotel and this place came highly recommended. We decided on spring rolls, shaking beef, and vermicelli noodles. The spring rolls were so fresh with just the perfect amount of herbs to really bring out the flavors. The shaking beef was a recommendation from our server and it did not disappoint. The vermicelli noodles were really good, but we didn't realize it was a cold dish. Watching everyone around us getting pho gave us a bit of fomo, but decided we'll have to come back for it another time. Service is so great. The food comes out quick, everyone is so friendly, the restaurant has such a warm atmosphere and all the guests were visibly enjoying as well. I've never had pho before so of course I had to try it while in the city. My friend recommended this place since it was late and we were starving and they were opened. I got beef pho while she got chicken pho. The beef was ok I liked the brisket but the meatballs were a little tough. My friend's chicken pho was good but nothing amazing. I've been here a couple of times and always get the chicken pho (which is sooo good); but today I decided to try their vermicelli noodles and I'm so glad I did! I got the BBQ pork and it was delicious, the meet was well seasoned, the portion works great and the whole dish was pretty good. Even when the place was busy, our food came in time. The food was fine but we both thought they were too salty - the soup for the pho and the meat toppings with my noodles. First time getting Vietnamese food and it was great. Had the bot chien and the pho with moist brisket. The bot chien was unlike anything I've had before. It is fried rice patty that is cute into cubes. The texture reminded me of fish, very soft gelatinous inside with a fried crunchy outside. The pho was wonderful, very light broth and the brisket was tender. They give you plenty of cilantro, lime, bean sprouts along with some nice sauces to add, like some chili sauce. Service was a little slow along with getting one of our dishes served first for our party of two and the other coming out 5 minutes later. They are very busy so it is understandable that they lose track with everything going on. I'm surprised that it took me so long to try this place - it is so good! We came in for dinner and we were promptly seated. A server got us chilled water and handed us menus. Some of the best Vietnamese I've ever had (and I used to live in Asia)! Big big fan of the combo options - my vermicelli bowl came with an egg roll, some chicken, a couple shrimp, and sausage. It wasn't too special but definitely wasn't terrible or beyond delicious - kind of mid but gets the job done if that's what you're craving for. We ordered the build your own pho, shaken beef, and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls came first and were very fresh, I really enjoyed these. The pho itself was good but not much better compared to other pho I've had, the broth was decently flavorful and there was a generous portion of rice noodles. If anything, the noodle texture stood out as they remained chewy for a while before getting soggy, which was pleasant. The shaken beef however really stood out! The wok sear on the beef gave it a nice flavor, and surprisingly the fried rice it came with was light but also had an addictive flavor. I really enjoyed this dish! The interior is very spacious and much nicer compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, and the service was good. Nam Phuong is so good!I love how close it is to my place and is perfect for a quick pick up or a casual dine in. The only thing that sucks is the parking. It's an absolute disaster to park there and the first time we went, we actually couldn't find a spot so we went home lol. Thankfully we lucked into a spot the second time so we were able to go in and eat. I had the shaking beef for my entree while my fiance got the pho. We also had the spring rolls for an app. All three things were delicious!!! I think the shaking beef is the best I've had in Atlanta!! My family and I come here whenever we're craving Vietnamese food! It's a standalone restaurant with a large interior and plenty of seating, so we've never had trouble finding a table. Service is prompt and attentive. The menu is huge, and has a lot of specialty items you may not find elsewhere. Most recently, I ordered their Bo Bun Hue -- it was a large portion, flavorful, the right level of spice, and full of delicious meats. Great for a cold day! It also comes with shredded cabbage, lime, and jalapenos for you to add if you'd like. The three of us also split a Vietnamese coffee to share. The coffee comes with condensed milk, which makes it taste like candy (in the best way). It's so delicious, but very caffeinated, and none of us have the caffeine tolerance for a full serving. I was visiting Atlanta and my friend mentioned this place was on the Michelin guide for their pho! I came on a rainy Thursday night with my friend after flying into Atlanta. The ambiance is more elevated and upscale with the red tablecloths and wooden chairs compared to a more casual vibe. There is some parking in the lot but it is limited. I ordered the pho with the combination meats. The other pho option was to choose 3 meats from the menu. I also ordered the eggplant sautéed with garlic. The food came out fairly quickly. I was a little bit disappointed when the pho came out as the soup was lukewarm. The broth is a clear and light broth that was flavorful and was comforting on a rainy night. They give you a large amount of noodles but not that much meat in my option compared to other restaurants in California I've visited and it was on the pricier side for $16. When the eggplant dish came out I realized I forgot to order rice but luckily the server brought rice and it came with the dish. The sauce for the eggplant dish was a thick brown sauce and there were large garlic pieces. I didn't taste too much garlic flavor and not sure what kind of sauce it was. Both dishes were a large portion though and I took leftovers for home. The service was good at the beginning when we ordered and the food came out fast but no one checked on us until maybe an hour later and we were just sitting and chatting for longer and no one brought the check. We ended up having to flag down someone to bring us the check and for to go boxes. Overall, the pho broth had good flavor but it was disappointing for a Michelin guide restaurant to have lukewarm broth. I would skip the sautéed eggplant garlic dish next time. We have catered here twice already and they are very accommodating. We also loved the family style dinner that is offered. The prices are reasonable and the food is superb. The make-your-own spring rolls are my go-to when dining in (so fun and fresh!). They offer preset options for groups (2, 6, etc.), where you choose from a few items. It's a perfect way to sample a variety of dishes. Buford Hwy did it again. Nam Phuong is THE place for people who want to venture into Vietnamese food outside of Pho. I've never even tried the pho due to the plethora of options available here. Their family dinner package is the best deal in town. With food for days. I've been here 4 times now and everytime I leave I dream about the next time I'm back. My favorite place to stop whenever I'm in town! Nam Phuong is a classic Vietnamese place that has amazing food. Food: My all time favorite is the Salt & Pepper fried seafood. It's not too hard nor too salty. My mom got the 4.3 - Bo nuong la lot banh hoi. I recommend the whole menu haha. Service: Service was OK. I understand that they were busy. Atmosphere: Lucky enough, there wasn't much people when we went which was right when they open. However, they are typically very busy. When we left, there was a lot of people waiting. Nam Phuong is a staple in Atlanta for Vietnamese food. I usually come here if I am looking for comfort food. The parking lot is really small and it does not help that this is a popular restaurant. I have had to find nearby parking just to eat at Nam Phuong, so just be aware of when you get here to eat because it can get really busy. The restaurant feels familiar and homey to me. There are a lot of families and kids that come here. I also think that the service is good. I almost always get their Bún Bò Huế because it is my favorite Vietnamese noodle soup! It is not the same as the version that my mom makes, but I do not think that a restaurant will be able to achieve that for me. Their Bún Bò Huế is pretty good; the noodles are soft and the broth is a tad bit saltier than I am used to, but it is not bad.
