In my opinion, the pho is not bland whatsoever, the eye round steak is yummy, and the noodles were a lovely texture. Also, the 'small', was actually small!!! Perfect amount, ate the whole thing. The mango boba was nothing to write home about, and im curious to try their lemonade next time, though the price seems a bit much in that department. Went here because I've been searching for a fabulous pho spot on the Southside. While it wasn't superior, it was sufficient. I ordered the pho with round eye steak and brisket, along with the shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls were a bit too heavy on the lettuce for my preference. The pho broth wasn't as rich and flavorful as I typically enjoy, and even after adding the toppings and sauces, it didn't quite reach that depth. Today, I wanted something light and reasonable priced for lunch. Found Pho Dai Loi close by the job and decided to check them out. They have good reviews and walking in I can see that they are very popular. They was pretty crowded with more customers coming in as I was waiting. The staff was very hospitable. The restaurant is very family oriented. I ordered 2 orders of shrimp spring roll. Spring rolls are pretty simple. These was decent I've have had better. The shrimps was small and 2 of my rolls only had 2 shrimps. But overall they was just ok. Their peanut sauce is another story. I didn't particularly like their peanut sauce. The service was very fast when we sat down to eat, and we got our food in less than 10 minutes. This was one of the best of vermicelli bowls that I've had. I'm sharing my personal experience at Pho Dai Loi 1 (Forest Park). I visited today and ordered one cup of sweet dessert to go. When I opened it at home, I noticed a strong, and unusual smell that made me uncomfortable eating it. After stirring the white beans at the bottom, I observed several beans with green discoloration that appeared mold-like to me. I was very disappointed, as this was not what I expected from a place I had visited before. Additionally, my husband and I ordered two bowls of pho. Unfortunately, the broth tasted bland to us, and the beef was tougher than expected. Overall, the quality did not meet our expectations this time. Had Pho Da Loi 3 several times, then tried Pho Da Loi 2 once, and most recently came across the original! They are all fabulous, and this one was no different. They make Pho the right way, all fresh ingredients and perfect meat to noodle ratio. Loved it. Would have any Pho Da Loi any day, I think it's the best Pho in Georgia. First time here, 4.5 overall! The inside is neat and organized, nothing fancy but great to grab a quick bite. We both ordered the large pho, and it came out within 2 minutes of ordering super hot and fresh! The large bowl is massive, and for only $16. The broth itself was quite flavorful, not too rich, and there was a ton of meat. For $16 I would say this is worth it and pretty good too! Noodles were nice and chewy. We also got the durian smoothie and this was really good! It had a mellow yet prevalent durian flavor, and tasted like they blended some durian together without any kind of watering down. We try to order the fry spring rolls and the lady kept pointing to the fresh rolls even though we also pointed to the picture of the fry rolls. Then they served us the fresh rolls anyway. The sauce that came with it wasn't good either. It was very thick, not what I had before. The service lacking in communication skills, she took our order and someone else came to serve our food and that's it. They don't come to check on you, so don't expect anything special. Pho Dai Lai has been on my radar for about 6 months. I decided to drop in this evening because of the traffic it takes to get to Mableton GA- so I dined. With my intense palate and need for distinctive flavor, Pho Dai Lai was a solid 3 stars. While the ambiance is simple and the regulars keep pouring in by the couples the Pho was a basic recipe with a very bland aftertaste. It was perfect for the 38 degree weather that I will be facing in a few moments but compared to my other reviews in other densely populated areas where Pho is King- this restaurant barley made the 3 star mark for me and my tastebuds. Noodles were consistent with the angel hair feel and the broth was lightly seasoned with fresh veggies and other green leafy options. However, that was where the ecstasy softened and I found myself with a 1/3 bowl of broth that I left behind. The food is delicious, the staff super helpful and friendly, there's plenty of parking, the prices are cheap and portions large. 10 out of 5 stars. I love this place, really I do. It's all good. Really it's all good; all of it. I bounce around and try new things every once in a while but GET the shrimp rolls; they're amazing. This used to be my go-to pho joint. Prices were fair and the pho was loaded up with meat and had great flavor. I went today for lunch and the $17 large bowl of pho had nearly no meat in it. I'm happy to pay for good food, but I'm not paying $17 for a $1 bowl of noodles and a few scraps of meat. The broth is perfect, as always. But broth and rice noodles shouldn't be $17. read more
