    SS2 - Tom Kha
    Juliana S.

The Tom Kha is AMAZING. This place is everything, especially on a cold day. It is clean and fairly spacious with high ceilings and plenty of booths. The staff are such sweet people, and I think we met the owner. The food comes out VERY fast (a little faster than most dining services but not in an off-putting way), and it does not disappoint. Try to pan-fried dumplings if you're stumped about what to order first, because there are a LOT of menu options. The business is located in a shopping center with a very large lot, so parking wasn't an issue at all. We'll definitely be back.

Great layout and design, love the ambiance. Lots of booths to choose from to sit comfortably and enjoy others company. Food is very flavorful and very satisfying! Very on point service, ready to serve. :)

We were in the area and decided to drop by Saigon Cafe for a quick lunch. I ordered a Pad Thai Noodle and a Mango Smoothie with Lychee Coconut Jelly. Service was quick and our waiter was friendly. The Smoothie tasted decent but not entirely like a smoothie. I would've preferred the noodles in the Pad Thai to be slightly firmer and the overall dish to be spicer. My partner tried the Pho Dac Biet and he said it was flavorful, but nothing too special about the dish.

Nice little place to grab pho. This has been a longtime favorite for my family & I for years.! Went last Friday evening & it was pretty slow. Seated right away. Service was very fast & efficient. Parking is plenty, as it is located in a small plaza area. We ordered two bubble teas , spring rolls, pad thai( to share) & crab/cream cheese bites.! Food was great.! Pad Thai did seemed a bit more sweet then I remember, as it's been a year since coming. *photo is with extra sauce* Hubby thought it was quite sweet as well, hence the negative star. Overall, great dinner.! Will definitely return, for pho next time.! :)

    AD5. Bourbon Chicken Dinner $10.25

Just had a pretty good meal here. Bourbon chicken with Saigon fried rice. The chicken was a bit sweet for me, but it was still good. It's definitely not as oily as the mall food court variety. The Saigon rice was nothing special but it went well with the chicken. It typically comes with jasmine rice but I wanted fried rice. But actually, since the bourbon sauce was so sweet, it might've been better with plain jasmine. The menu has Vietnamese and Thai dishes, so there's plenty to choose from. I'm gonna have to come back and try their pho sometime.

Great service. Good ambiance. Average pho/flavors. The booth I was sitting in came with a live roach on the table. I still ate here.

I love Downtown Decatur even though I don't get over here often. The ambiance was charming with hints of Thailand throughout and tables to seat maybe 50-60 people. As usual, there's traffic for to-go orders but most were coming in to dine in for a while. Our group was a party of 7 and the service was delightful. They explained menu options, drinks and even dessert. We started with cocktails, appetizers and finally our entree. We brought birthday cake so didn't order dessert this visit. My Red Sangria was delicious and a generous pour with fresh fruit. I had the soup for a starter and my usual - Pad Thai noodles for my dinner. The experience was very nice however there were some misses - the steamed dumplings were rather dry. Flavors for the curry didn't have a rich coconut flavor. The breezeway from the door (just a curtain) created a chill in the room but it wasn't too bad. Parking: There's limited street parking and the lots are rather pricey. Be advised, take Marta or take a ride-share.

It is relatively small inside however in was warm and cozy on the Tuesday night in which we dined. The staff were polite and very attentive. It really added a pleasant note to the experience. The food was served hot- it was not sitting under a heat lamp. Very good. My soup - tom Kha was delicious- and my entree- pad me moa- was a 10 entry on my list of dishes I have eaten at a Thai spot in my life. We had a very enjoyable meal! I was nervous about finding the restaurant. It is tucked off the Main Street (passed a large intersection/crosswalk) but we found it quickly.

Items requested wasnt brought out. Had to chase het down for refills. Had a slight attitude because I informed her the water glasses that were sitting in the table were visibly dirty and thats the reason I turned the empty glasses upside down. She had to wander all over the restaurant to look for clean glasses that she removed for unoccupied tables. I watched her later collect 8 tables worth of dirty glasses lol but she gave me the attitude like I was nit picky person lol its all good I chuckled myself and didnt hold it against her. I was vindicated when I watched her scurrying around and couldn't immediately find clean glasses. The restaurant had 2 parties finishing up. Not busy at all. Food: 3 stars; we only came here because THAICOON (around the corner) was closing. I highly recommend thaicoon, ive been going since 2008. The California roll was decent, the shrimp spicy basil fried rice was good and i was impressed they didnt skimp on the shrimp, the coconut chicken soup was good. The star of the show for me was the sweet tea. The food wasnt bad but it didnt knock our socks off either, it could've used more seasoning. It's more like commercial Thai vs authentic Thai. Price point: 2 stars: the items I described above came to roughly $53, totally not worth it! Lol the portion size didnt match the price point. At thaicoon i wouldve paid $46 for the same items. Maybe $7 isn't a big difference to alot of you but that extra $7 there wouldve gotten me an appetizer at thaicoon or i could've put another $10 with it and got another dish. Cleanliness: 3 stars: 3 tables needed bussing, dirty water glasses ob several tables lol, they was having a rough night. Overall; I wouldnt come back if thaicoon is open. If thaicoon was closed and i really wanted thai food i would maybe give them another try. I wasnt bad and im not trying to slam them, my dinning experience couldve been better. Plus side is they do validate your parking ticket if you park in the garage. I would give them a solid 3 stars, had the portion sizes been a tad bigger or cheaper, or had the service been better i wouldve given them 4 stars.

So you'll be able to sample many different types of noodle/rice dishes as well as stir-frys. If you love boba tea, you'll be delighted to know they have a small to medium selection. We ordered Tonkotsu Ramen with Char Siu. I like the serving portion. Looked small but actually very filling. The noodles were sufficient. The broth was tasty but could do with less salt. The egg that came with the Ramen was hard-boiled, I wish it was soft-boiled (6-min egg) but it's ok. I loved the bean sprouts, green onions in there - lifted the dish. The Char Siu was seared to perfection. The other order we had was the Chinatown Lo Mein. Again, the serving looked small but was sufficient. Overall a little sweet, which is unusual as most Chinese noodles aren't made sweet. Thus this was a twist to the dish that I did not like. We also ordered 2 drinks: Yuzu Lemon with Strawberry Popping Boba & TDAK Dragon Fruit Fizz. Both were too sweet. I took both home and added more ice & water - 4 drinks for the price of 2! Yay! I wished I could request for 50% sweetness.

For a bowl of rice, probably equivalent to 10 cents of what they paid for it, meant to be fried rice which I asked for, it was white rice, and less than a middle finger, exactly what Tin Drum gave me, amount of chicken. It was supposed to be sesame chicken, no sesame at all. I paid so much for nothing. I'm really upset and need a refund. Food worth half what I paid. Now, the service, or lack there of. This place is so cheap, they charge for everything and give nothing. I wanted a drink, $3.25. I want a side of sauce that they could have given on the side? $2. For it to not even be good food, they have lost it. FYI, Yelp needs to not partner or offer codes for this place because I checked in, it said free crab cheese roll. They did not honor it. I don't think I have ever been somewhere so cheap they did honor a Yelp check in promotion. The crab roll was as small as your thumb, and not even good, because I paid for one. I already spent $23, you refuse to honor that a $2 nasty flat crab roll? New low. This eatery, because places like this need to be called what they are, a place to eat. They're not even on par to be referred to as restaurants, is trash. No exaggeration. The entire staff is trash. The dude with the dreads, the fake manager with the braids, the owners relatives in the back cooking TV dinner food for over $20 a pop, they are all awful and corrupt and have such nasty, don't care, attitudes. I remember Tin Drum opening at perimeter years ago. It was better service and quality. I'm mad at myself for giving them my money. Never again. I will be requesting a for a refund. I didn't finish the food. Do not ever eat here. Go hungry first. They price gouge and wouldn't give away a prayer even though it's free. Horrible service. I know customer service is dead especially at these eateries, but this is a new level. Just nasty. Negative stars for this one.
