    Spicy Veggie & Tofu
    Gupta R.

Decent Thai place, very good ambience and quick service and decent food. Got spicy vegetable tofu from lunch menu with coconut soup and it was fairly good.

It's more like 3.5 stars but since that isn't an option, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and give them 4 for the friendly staff and quick service. For an appetizer we for the vegetable samosas and the shrimp roll. I enjoyed my samosas but thought the rolls were too greasy. However my bf liked the rolls and not the samosas. For lunch entrees I got the beef rendang while my bf for the spicy fried rice with shrimp. I asked for spicy, from the menu it had one to three chili peppers so I asked for three but was told the scale was actually one to eight. I like spicy but wasn't sure what "eight" would be so I got a five. Felt like a one, maybe two. Barely any kick. The dish itself was just ok. I did like the beef but thought some of the pieces were too big not to have a knife to cut it (probably could have asked for one, just didn't). The sauce it came in was just ok. I actually preferred the sauce that came with my samosas and asked for more of that which they then proceeded to say would cost an additional $0.75. I just don't get charging for the little bit of sauce they give you. At the end of the night they're probably throwing it away anyway. I tasted my bf's fried rice which was good. I would probably get that if I went back. Also the lunch specials come with soup which was also just ok. The restaurant itself was as expected as far as table space and decor.

This place was excellent, from the food to the staff. We were seated quickly and weren't rushed to order, as can happen in some restaurants. The waitress noticed that my friend was talking, and after a reasonable amount of time, she brought us some water and asked for our drink order as well. We ordered appetizers, which were delicious. We had fried calamari and spring rolls, and then we ordered our entrées, which were just as appetizing as they were plentiful. The food and conversation were so enjoyable that I forgot to take pictures--I apologize! However, I can recommend some dishes that you will thank me for later. We had the honey butter shrimp, which came with a green honey sauce. At first, we were a bit cautious but intrigued. I took a small scoop and was pleasantly surprised. I would rate that sauce a 10/10. We also ordered the Massaman Curry Shrimp. Both dishes were extremely good, and I will definitely be back.

I've ordered from Top Spice so many times on Door Dash, but my friend and I decided to dine in. The food is great! The service was amazing! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

    Honey Butter Shrimp without Broccoli

A solid rating of 4 stars...wish they would add a bit more spice to their dishes or at least ask what spice level one wants. We have been here now three times over the past 6 weeks. Still believe that a rating of 4 is deserved. However, the last visit might not have been as good as the other 2. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe the main chef had the day off. These are the dishes we have tried on our visits: - Martabak - Malaysian pancake stuffed with curry minced beef and onion. Very tasty. Never had anything like this. The curry taste was some of the best. Asked for some type of sauce to dip it in. They returned with a peanut sauce..they might should add it to the menu! - Nurr Nam Tok - Grilled ribeye with spice powder, mint, basil, red onions, lime juice, ground chili and I really believe fish sauce even though not mentioned in description. Asked for no fish sauce. Got it and it was great. - Spicy Basil Ground Chicken, AKA Krakow Gai. Very good, had lots of sauce for the rice. Could have used some heat. - Honey Butter Shrimp served with chopped onion and bell pepper and broccoli. Asked for no broccoli so they added more onion and bell pepper...perfect. It is also served with a Honey Butter sauce, at Food Terminal(sister restaurant) it is served with a Pandan Sauce. Same here. Asked if it was the Pandan Sauce and they didn't know. But they did confirm. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The Pandan sauce was very good. Nothing left in the bowl - Spicy Basil Leaf with Chicken - gets a rating of 3. Somewhat watered down. Not much last of basil and no spice taste. Chicken was a little chewy. wouldn't order again. Stick with the Spice Basil Ground Chicken. - Nurr Nam Tok -See comments on first visit. Forgot to ask for no fish sauce. When it arrived we tasted and said "Oh, no we forgot to ask for No Fish Sauce....guess they do have it in their ingredients. Just not as good as first time. Portions are very reasonable. Especially for the lunch specials that are daily until 3:00PM. Service is friendly enough. Will definitely go back due to location.

    Pork larb salad

This will be a short review. I came here for lunch with coworkers. I ordered the pork larb salad, and I've had better larb before. This larb was a little on the sweet side. Less salty and just meh overall. Service was quick, plenty of seating but definitely designed for office workers in the area though. It's not bad, but it's meh.

Chicken Satay! Generous portion great as a shareable appetizer
    Sidéwon Andre N.

I hadn't been to Top Spice in nearly 10 years when a friend was in town and wanted to visit. Of course it was a great time as I remembered in the past. I ordered Chicken Satay as an appetizer and beef Rendang. I will say the Chicken Satay is a generous portion and great for a shareable table appetizer! I also ordered a Roti on the side and a Fruit Punch made made from the bar. The entire meal was delicious however the rice was cooked too soft for my liking. I hate when places cook the rice too soft!- Get a rice cooker! Lol In all, this is a solid restaurant! It's quite popular in the area as they have won many awards and have been seen on many Media outlets in the city. It's located off Briarcliff Rd and closes at 1030 pm on Saturday night. There are so many good Thai/Malaysian restaurants in the city that have opened up but Top Spice is definitely an Atlanta favorite.

Overall experience wasn't great. Our server was very polite, but our party of 8 was a bit too much for him to handle. The food was very underwhelming. Ordered samosas and egg rolls for appetizers, it was okay. I ordered the beef fried rice for my entree, which was very mushy and the beef was under cooked. Another guest in our party had a thumb tack in her Pad See Ew!!! Which unfortunately she didn't see until finishing most of her food. They responded saying it wasn't from them??? Will not be back.

Top spice was one of my faves in the past, but it seems like they're still holding on by a thread. The inside is small and intimate, the food (I had the beef rendang) and I had a crunch to my food and when I spit it out, it looked like a bug shell. It wasn't nasty taste, but it kinda freaked me out. I understand mistakes happen and the 3 stars is for the strong lychee martini (lychee tasted spoiled) and the fast service.

    Tofu Pad Thai.

Note the extra sauce that makes this dish much more flavorful than other Thai locations.

Top Spice is pretty darn good Thai food. * Initial thoughts: The place is casual yet classy. It's well lit, has some nice decor you'd expect at most Thai restauraunts. It can be used as a place for a nice date night dinner or for larger parties as well. * Service Our server was great; she was nice and accommodating. As a vegetarian, she ensured that certain items were strictly without meat and asked if eggs were okay. * Food: The food was great! Our appetizers admittedly left us fairly underwhelmed. We ordered the Curry Samosas and the Roti Canai, which for the price, the portions were very small (albeit still delicious). For our main course, I ordered the Tofu Pad Thai (I always get this dish) and comparable to other Thai restaurants, I was very pleasantly surprised. It's easy to get one Thai restaurant's take on this classic dish mixed up with another. However there were two distinctions I should make that made my meal much more enjoyable. The dish itself was more of a "wet" pad thai with much more sauce which resulted in much more flavor. Alongside the larger pieces of tofu, there were also miniature pieces which was a nice touch. The final distinction was when we got the bill and the receipt read "NO FISH SAUCE" - which I cannot tell you enough - how appreciative I was of this. My girlfriend ordered the Masaman curry which felt a little more milky than other locations. Other than that, another solid dish. Nothing too specific to notate on. I ordered two drinks. The first was a Mojito and the second was a Mai Tai. Both were great, and a little on the stronger side for these drinks. Also they came in a large glass (larger than I expected!) We opted against dessert as there were other options nearby. * Summary Top Spice is a great option to eat at if you want slightly different takes on classic Thai dishes. The food is flavorful, the staff is attentive and caring, and the experience is overall pleasant. We cannot wait to return!

Best dish to order for the first time Thai eater?

Pad Thai is a classic Thai noodle dish that I would highly recommend. Not spicy, but had a contrast of flavor if you add a squeeze of lime and can ask for no peanuts if allergic. Also has eggs in case that is a dietary concern.

I have never in my life had Americanized Thai food (or at least been conscience of it) but this tasted every bit of that. Not a single Thai national or descendant cooking or dining in here... I should have slid out the door upon noticing this but we were HONGRY and this place was walking distance. I appreciate the big portions to help alleviate the hunger, but the food going down wasn't even close to a real Thai experience. And the general ambience was definitely off. It's unclear whether this is a casual to-go spot or a sit-down spot or a bar. The service here was confusing. You have to order drinks separately from your food, for one. Secondly, it took a solid 10 minutes for a bartender to walk behind the bar and begrudgingly explain to me what they have available. I would have ordered more but her attitude made me close the tab after one beer. We didn't get served water until after we received our food, a solid 15-20 min after being in the restaurant. It generally felt like no one wanted to be there, and the staff were just moving independently to complete tasks instead of creating a dining experience *together*. There was not a smile from a single person I interacted with. I'd most likely not return purely because the dining experience is just plain out uncomfortable. On to the food. Mostly oil and noodles except for the papaya salad, which was... okay. Again, big portions. Nice heat. But just okay. The whole cherry tomatoes on top were a little weird and screamed laziness. The tofu kee mao was... okay. Same for the chicken pad thai. Lots of oil. This food made us feel pretty tired after eating it, which I've rarely experienced eating Thai cuisine. And they were very, very stingy with the protein. My husband counted 4-5 little slivers of chicken and hella noodles. The same was true for my tofu dish. I mean... it's tofu y'all. Cheap. But I can imagine they have to cut these corners because there were about 8 staff members running around in a small space with only a few customers in for happy hour. They do have HH deals on drinks depending on the day, but I found the drinks to be overpriced and not worth it. Especially the beer. And a $10 non-alcoholic cocktail is wild imo, especially for the scanty area this area is in. They are certainly milking the fact that they are in eyeshot of the Mercedes Benz stadium. The inside is beautiful and very ~trendy~ and honestly that tells me exactly where the focus is. I'd rate this a 2, but I'm adding a star for the spotless restrooms.

It wasn't clear that parking is validated if you pay at one of the stalls using the QR code. The restaurant was fairly quiet and empty when we arrived, and we had a reservation. We were seated directly next to the kitchen where it was loud and noisy, which was an interesting choice since there were so many empty tables everywhere else. The food was just ok in my opinion. The best thing we ate was the appetizer, which was the crab curry vermicelli bites. It was delicious and flavorful. For main entrees, we ordered pad see ew and pad woon sen, both with chicken. Both were very underwhelming. The flavor profile just wasn't there in my opinion. We asked for three stars of spicy, and the pad woon sen came out with red tinted noodles and extra sauce on the side, which tasted like it was supposed to be hot sauce? It's hard to describe, but the noodles tasted superficially spicy if that makes sense. It tasted like they flavored it to look spicy, but it wasn't spicy in the traditional sense. There were no chili flakes or oils that were incorporated into the dish and it wasn't offered as a side, which is typically my experience at Thai restaurants. The portions were also relatively small for their price tags in my opinion. Two entrees and one appetizer (no drinks) ended up being in the $80s. Also for being an "upscale" Thai restaurant, more authentic touches would have been nice. For example, chopsticks weren't offered at the table when we were seated or when they brought our food out. We had to flag down our waiter and had to specifically request it, and we got disposable chopsticks. Again, not a huge deal, but in my experience at upscale Thai restaurants, they usually offer proper, reusable chopsticks along with other silverware. Overall, this place was a miss for me, given the flavors and the food for the cost.

The food, however, was a bit hit-or-miss for me. Most of the dishes were a little too heavily seasoned, too sweet, or too salty for my taste. My boyfriend enjoyed the food more than I did. My palate tends to lean toward lighter flavors. The food was good overall. Nothing to complain about, but nothing really stood out as amazing either. We had: - Strawberry Creamy Mocktail: a bit too syrupy for me. - Black Mussels: the mussels were a little dry and didn't taste very fresh. The dish was also too salty for my taste. - Fried Gyoza - Satay Chicken - Tiger Prawns & Scallops - Roti Bread: we ordered this as a side without curry. - Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Overall, it's a nice place with really good service and beautiful decor. Although the food didn't quite work for my palate, it will probably suit people who enjoy stronger and more heavily seasoned flavors. I would still recommend giving it a try, especially for the atmosphere and excellent service.
