1/5 Stars -- Absolutely Disgusting Service. NOT FAMILY OR KID FRIENDLY!
One of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. I would NEVER recommend Thoom's Thai in Alpharetta to anyone, especially families with young children.
The level of disrespect, hostility, and outright rudeness we experienced from the staff was absolutely unacceptable. What should have been a pleasant family outing turned into an incredibly uncomfortable and upsetting experience, all because the staff apparently couldn't tolerate the presence of toddlers.
NEWSFLASH: TODDLERS ARE CHILDREN. THEY MAKE NOISE. THEY TALK. THEY LAUGH. THEY GET EXCITED. THAT IS NORMAL!
If your establishment cannot handle the ordinary sounds of young children, then perhaps you should make it clear that families are not welcome before they walk through your doors.
Instead, we were met with staff members who were unnecessarily mean, disrespectful, and hostile toward our young children. These are TODDLERS we're talking about, not adults deliberately causing a disturbance. The complete lack of patience, compassion, and basic human decency was astonishing.
And as if the attitude wasn't bad enough, FOUL LANGUAGE WAS USED. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior in a restaurant, especially around small children. It's incredibly unprofessional and reflects terribly on the establishment.
What makes this experience particularly disturbing is that it wasn't simply one employee having a bad day. From our experience, the negative attitude extended across the staff. Not once did we feel genuinely welcomed or treated with the basic courtesy any paying customer deserves.
To the management of Thoom's Thai: Children are human beings, too. Families should not have to feel embarrassed, unwelcome, or disrespected simply because their toddlers behave like toddlers. Your staff's behavior made us feel as though bringing our children into your restaurant was somehow an offense.
We've visited plenty of restaurants that manage to treat families with warmth, patience, and professionalism. Clearly, that was not our experience here.
My advice to every parent in Alpharetta: Think twice before bringing your family here. There are plenty of other restaurants where your children can be treated with kindness and where your money will be appreciated.
A restaurant can have the best food in the world, but it means absolutely nothing when customers and their young children are treated this poorly.
We will NEVER return to Thoom's Thai. Not for another meal, not for takeout, not for anything.
Zero respect. Zero hospitality. Zero patience for children. An absolutely disgraceful customer service experience.
If I could give our experience zero stars, I would. read more
