I had a really good experience here. My server Jameson was great. I sat upstairs on the outdoor patio and the view was beautiful with a nice breeze from the ceiling fans. I started with the chicken and shrimp dumplings and enjoyed it. I ordered the spicy basil fried rice with shrimp, (medium flavor) and it had the perfect amount of heat to it. I stopped in on a whim on a recent Saturday for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The menu contains all of the classic Thai dishes as well as some creative cocktails. To start, I ordered the Andamanda cocktail which is rum based. It contains rosemary syrup and guava. It was well balanced and delicious. I also ordered the coconut soup with shrimp and pad Thai with shrimp. Everything was delicious and the portions were a nice size. The prices are very reasonable as well. We went on a tasting tour of a few Thai restaurants in Alpharetta. This restaurant is a stone throw away from downtown alpharetta and has an authentic rickshaw parked outside. I stopped into Rickshaw Thai Kitchen for lunch while getting my truck serviced at the Range Rover dealership which is really close by, and I'm so glad I did. I ended up having a really good vegan Thai meal. I ordered the vegan Panang curry, and the flavor was absolutely delicious, rich, well-seasoned, and very satisfying. I opted out of the tofu since I don't eat it and instead got extra veggies with added bamboo shoots, which made it even better for my taste. I truly loved it. I also tried the vegan coconut soup for the first time, and it did not disappoint. It was creamy, flavorful, and something I would definitely order again. I paired everything with the classic fried spring rolls, which were exactly what you'd expect: crispy and tasty. I've had so many versions of Thai food over the years. The best way to describe this restaurant is comfort. The interior is relaxing, filled with darker colors, makes you feel you are de-stressing. They have a full bar if you're just coming for the drinks. The drinks were a huge highlight here. Definitely go with a signature cocktail or mixed drink. I had the Thai fire. It was served with a kaffir lime leaf and a red chili! Nice chili salt rim. Smooth in heat but not overpowering. Also had the white lotus which was creamy and scented with lychee ( next time I may try the lychee martini!) For starters I would recommend the cheese rolls. Perfectly cooked and cheesy but not too oily. Chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce were similar to other versions I had. Just the right amount of tang and sweet. Also had the coconut soup which was a mixture of mushrooms and chicken in a coconut milk broth and kaffir lime leaves balanced with a chili oil. It was exactly what I wanted!! All the major players are there on the entrees. I had the pad prik king with seafood, I like that you can choose your protein and spice level. Medium was mild to me. Hot was perfect. A nice salty and spicy thin brown sauce with sauté bell peppers and green beans served with white jasmine rice. My group also had the pad Thai and drunken noodles. Pad Thai was just the right amount of sweet and sour laced with bean sprouts and peanuts. Long flat rice noodles in that drunken noodles sauce hit all the high points for that dish. Waitstaff was attentive and didn't leave us hanging even though they were busy. This was a great find when in Alpharetta. It's rare when all of us agree how good the restaurant was and I would love to bring more family and friends next time. read more

We sat downstairs and found the vibe relaxed yet nicely done. The server (Calet) was friendly and enthusiastic -- it always elevates the experience when the staff are genuinely engaged. They also serve Coke products (I had a Coke Zero) which is a small thing but for me a nice plus. Bottom line: If you're looking for a Thai place in Alpharetta that hits the flavor, portion, and service marks without going crazy expensive, this is it. My husband and I recently discovered this hidden gem. It's probably the best Thai I have had in GA. The food was well seasoned and the ambiance was nice. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded, but thankfully we had reservations and were seated immediately. The service was a little slow, but it wasn't a big deal after tasting the food. THE BEST THAI FOOD I've had in a LONG time. Think of Rickshaw as what you typically find in a Thai menu, but with the flavor you are missing. They have a great drink menu with some really cool cocktail options. I cant remember the name of the one we got, but it was super fresh and delicious (something with Rum) The Cheese Rolls and Spring Rolls are a must. Not exaggerating- these are the best spring rolls I've ever had. Right texture, right filling, right dipping sauce (chef's kiss). My husband got the Drunken Noodle and I got the Ramen Seafood. The Drunken Noodle is so flavorful and has a really generous meat portion. The real star are the noodles here - they have a nice texture. My favorite was the Ramen Seafood. It has a range of seafood which was all cooked perfectly and the flavors really worked well together. Service was amazing and the restaurant is very nice. There is a beautiful upstairs that I can't wait to try when it's not 100 degrees outside. It's a bit pricier than your local Thai place but it's worth it. I wish Rickshaw was closer because I would order from them regularly. We will definitely be back. Fantastic home cooking, when you get it. Order the main meal menu items and you will be astounded with the complexity, balance and forwardness of the spices. Potions sizes are small. I had to order an appetizer after the meal and that was after an appetizer before the main meal. Totally new experience with a version of Num Tok. Absolutely blows your tastebuds into heaven. Companion's choice was Yum Woon Sen and it was great. Service was ok. Our waiter was ok. Staff tended to congregate and talk amongst themselves instead of paying attention to the table. Unfortunately, there are items that don't seem homemade. Vegetable rolls and dumplings both taste like frozen product from H-Mart. Dumplings overcooked to the point of disintegration and rolls so sad I felt bad for the chef who was forced to serve them. Overall, great homestyle products for main menu items. This place needs to focus on homemade and delete all frozen products from the menu. Service attention is in needed. read more
