Really cool place that serves some Great tacos. On Sundays, there's a marg special ($5). Kind of small, so not great for groups over 6-8 people. Service is great too! Plus, there's some good bars next door if you're looking to have a variety of experiences after eating. read more

The crunchwrap was delicious. Got the birria one. Great environment to go out for lunch. Would recommend.

The best tacos I think I've ever had. My friends and I ordered tacos from here a few months ago and I have been thinking about them ever since. They offer gf tortillas and have a great range of options for all kinds of dietary needs. Highly recommend! I can't speak to the service as we have only ever ordered to-go, but I will absolutely be returning to eat in house sometime. read more

Perfect spot to grab a bite to eat with friends. You order your meal at your table via QR code which can be a bit confusing at first to figure out. I order the Centro Crunch which I LOVED along with some guac & chips. 10/10 The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I wasn't a huge fan of the margaritas or the app to order food off of. There was a section in the app when ordering that I got hung up on but eventually figured it out. However, I would still recommend visiting Centro because the food itself was good! read more

My wife and I were here last summer, twice, and had a nice lunch both times, enjoyed the dessert of the chocloate mole cake, etc. This afternoon however things were different. I enjoyed the service of the staff but the food, the Centro Crunch that I ordered, was middling at best. My wife enjoyed her meal, but my order arrived in an actual paper wrapper, if you can believe that. I never heard of such a thing. And the food was not what I would call hot to the taste. If there was any cheese on it at all, I never found it. The meat, what little there was of it, was seriously bland. There was no salsa or any other dip brought with the meal or complimentary chips which is standard in most Mexican restaurants. On top of that, we ordered two lemonades which were wonderful, but the ice filled the glass past half-full and the contents could not have been more than 6-8 ounces for $6 and then no refill. No refill? Seriously?? With the amount of beverage for that price the message is clear: don't make the same mistake twice. So sad. We make it a habit to support small businesses in our area. We don't like crossing any of our list, but in this case I'm afraid we'll just have to. Quality of this sort does not deserve to be rewarded. And why they discontinued something as popular as the mole cake is beyond me. The management is not taking the best interests of its customers to heart. It was as though they were saying to us, "You can do better, please go to another restaurant next time!" And that is exactly what we will do. read more

Fantastic guac and queso, and loved the option to order without a server -- super easy and convenient. Margaritas were great, too! The tacos were decent, not anything wild, but I'd definitely come back for drinks and apps. Might give their take on a Crunchwrap a shot next time! read more

I ordered the $15 queso and was sent about a quarter cup sized portion. When I called to ask if the portion size was correct I was told that a pint is $13, but since I ordered the pineapple queso you only get a small side size. I said that would mean that the couple of tablespoons of pineapple adds $12 to the price and was told that's correct. Insanely overpriced and overrated. read more

Nice menu (available using QR scanned code); huge central bar area; nice outdoor patio (it was sweltering so stayed inside). Spicy skinny margarita had NO SPICE! I can't believe I've never reviewed centro before! It's one of my favorite spots in the twin cities and is a regular place for me to meet up with friends. Favorites on the menu are their original margarita, pescado tacos, and the black bean crunch wrap and the chips and guac! I also randomly often get the aperol spritz which is great! The space here is super nice and fun- patio seating is a must during the summer! I think the food tasted very fresh which I liked but lacked some flavor- especially for the price I was disappointed ! I definitely needed some hot sauce on the side! I would skip on the frozen margarita and opt for beer instead- it was overpriced and tasted like the frozen bag ones for $5 at the liquor store. Not much of a service as you order your food via QR code on the table and water is self serve. Parking was hard on the weekend because there are other popular breweries/restaurants in the area. I'm still glad I tried it though and enjoyed the environment. read more

We went to Centro for happy hour and it was so delicious! Food came out fast and it was a ton of food. Only thing is the happy hour prices weren't amazing, but it was still worth it. Will definitely come back for more. Also a great place to bring a group, or for a date night. read more

I love all kinds of tacos dont care how i get them! I really really liked my crunch wrap, Nate on the other hand was not impressed with his where he ended up finishing my food because.. it was a lot of food! Chip and Queso.. always simple and always good! Will be back but be pushing Nate to try something else cause sometimes you just gotta give other things a try! The food and service are amazing here! Always fun to try new foods at Centro! Great ambiance and atmosphere.

This is a fantastic spot to swing by on a brewery tour of Minneapolis. Or don't.. just drink all Centro's delicious drinks. Such a cute spot!! Modern but slightly funky in the best way. Such bright beautiful colors everywhere. They have ordering of the future. Everything is through a QR code. You order everything through their website. Most items have photos which I love!! Once submitted I comes so quickly to the table. They do check your id before you are served alcohol. The food was great. I got the chips and queso and it was a great amount of food and not too spicy. Others may want a little more to be honest but it was wonderful for my sensitive tastebuds. read more

How have I not heard of this place? Very good "service" and even better food. There are no servers here, just bar tenders and food runners. All the ordering is done from a QR code and very quickly your food or drink appears. The food is great and the beers quench your thirst! The building is unique and puts off a fun vibe. Let me start by saying that Mexican is my least favorite type of food so this was a pleasant surprise. Street parking is usually available around this location. Ordering is through your phone by scanning a QR code. You must order the beef birria taco and the jicama fries. The taco had a little spice to it so not for the weak palates but the dip that comes with it is divine. Save this for eating around friends and not a date because it's definitely messy. I used a lot of napkins. The jicama fries are perfectly crispy with an amazing aioli sauce. It's every flavor and texture you want from a thicker fry. GET THEM! Even if you're not a fan of Mexican food, give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. They're open late and have a dark, bar atmosphere later in the evening too. read more

Tried out this restaurant on a Friday night around 6:30 - seating is first come first serve so if you're coming with a big group I definitely recommend a few people getting their early! Food was great, the Nachos were our favorite. The chips were INCREDIBLE! The biggest downside for my (personal preference) is that you don't have a true server. There is a QR code with the menu and you order /pay all through the app. Again, personal preference but we missed the service of having someone actually wait on your table! All in all a super fun place to check out and in a great location nestled right in between Indeed Brewing and Earl Guilles Distillery! read more

Food was good, some items very good...service...lost a star for that one! I will admit I am not a fan of this style of "do all the ordering yourself, use the app" and then we'll bring you your food....or not! Brought my daughter here for her birthday lunch...great day, sat outside! Fought the App ordering and had the person taking the order screw it up...servers ignored the obvious to the point I was waiting and turned out eating cold tacos! Ordered a quesadilla, wasn't on the order, server kept saying was coming...it wasn't, had to reorder...placed a second order on their app...great system, not. Had the order messed up again and had the waitress treat me like I didn't know what the hell I had ordered...nice thing with an app....proof! Overall, food was better than average buy service and the system to order sucked...probably won't come back because of that! KT read more

I had to checkout the loved taco spot in NE, Centro! Location: it is on a very cute street with plenty of parking for a busy Friday night. The brewery next door will validate your parking for free. Taste: the chips and queso were good (nothing special, I found the texture a bit different). The crunch wrap I had was pretty good. I found it somewhat bland but I also chose the veggie option. Vibes: it is open seating and you order off an online menu. The service was quick for it being to busy! The staff does a great job turning tables. The outdoor seating is large too! Nice option for the summer months. read more

Centro is BY FAR a top-tier taco establishment. Do they have the best tacos in Minnesota? I believe so. In the words of my partner, "These are the best tacos in the Midwest." And he's absolutely right! I drive 60 minutes round trip just to have these and they are worth sitting in traffic. What makes Centro so wonderful is the fact that their tacos are incredibly flavorful, loaded with toppings, and the best part is all of the juices with each bite. They have so many options. The toppings on top are fresh with toppings like pickled red onions, chopped onions, fresh cilantro, and even a pineapple sauce on top of the carnitas taco (my absolute favorite). If you're considering going here, you have to. Order every taco on the menu, get some margaritas, and you're in for the flavorful time of your life. One thing to note that makes this place great is that you order online and pay online and the food is brought to you. You don't have to worry about someone constantly checking in on you and it just makes the dining experience stress-free and simple. read more

The hippo pockets here are really good. It's a little pricey for what it is, but I would definitely go back.

First place, this place is credit card only, and you order on your cell phone from your table. Normally, I would just walk by and let the hipsters have this one. That being said, the staff was friendly, the food was great, and when I wanted to get a coffee at the venue next door, they let me bring it over since some items from their coffee shop are not on their restaurant menu. The ceviche was a perfect balance of fish, citrus, and spices. The guacamole was pretty standard with no risk taking there. The nopales, however, were exceptional. Give this place a try! read more

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican food experience this place is not it, however the food does taste good and it is a new-age spot with a fun menu. I'm not the biggest fan of Centro. To start it's a place where you order off a QR code at the table and someone brings the food out which I've never really been a fan of that ordering style. So make sure you bring your smart phone or you can't order anything. The tacos themselves do taste good. They have a variety of taco options and for the most part they are tasty. The problem is you order them individually and they are like $5 per taco. And one taco is not very large so you're going to need to order multiple and as you can guess the price adds up rather quickly. The tacos themselves are less authentic and more "fun" I would say. For example I don't think I've ever had a taco with pineapple and pickled onions on it before. There are other non-taco options as well, like the "crunches" which are a souped-up taco-bell super crunch wrap. These are good as well but hard to justify $14 for a crunch wrap. (And that's without a tip). Overall it is fun my main gripe is the ordering system and prices. The food tastes good and it is a fun atmosphere. read more

Probably the best crunch wrap I've ever had in my life. This thing is 3x the size of a Taco Bell crunch wrap and packed with flavour in every bite. The duck tacos were exquisite too. Menu is fire here, so many things to choose from, so little stomach real estate. Ordering is by mobile/qr code and they charge you a service fee (not gratuity) so that's the only downside. A friend and I visited today and there were some definite hits and some misses. The nacho chips were obviously freshly made and the salsa verde was a nice kick, which fits my Minnesota taste sensibilities. We both tried the taco trio with both of us ordering the Chicken Tinga, Baracoa tacos. My friend ordered the chorizo taco for his third while I went with the ground beef. We both agreed the chicken and the baracoa tacos were good but both our third choices were misses. Regardless, we'll be back because liked the atmosphere and the prices were decent. read more

I went with a group of friends (4 total) on Tuesday 4/18/23 at 5pm. Ordering is all done on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table, so mingling with staff is minimal. The process can be a bit frustrating as there is no option to keep a tab open, instead you have to enter all your payment info every time you order something. Water is self-serve. Food is great, especially for the price you pay. My group order chips with queso and salsa (3 salsas come with the order, midwestern spice level) as appetizers, and most either went for the crunch wrap or quesadillas and I didn't hear any complaints. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Free street parking with a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Note for those hard of hearing: it can get loud and make it hard to have a conversation, though there is a variety of seating that might have quieter corners. Note for those with mobility issues: variety of seating (booths, tables, bar seating, etc), restaurant and bathrooms are spacious and easy to get around. read more

Really enjoyed my first experience at Centro last night. No reservations and seat yourself- but there is a lot of seating! We ate around 7:30 on a Tuesday and had no issues finding a desireable table. You then scan the menu to your phone and do all our ordering that way. The staff then brings out the food to your table using your table number- felt the process was very slick. We got chips and salsa trio for the table. I loved how much variety in flavor there was between the three salsa options. Also got a margarita and it was good- no complaints there, was strong and the right flavors, $10 though felt just a bit too steep for the size of drink so I personally wouldn't get again unless I was there for happy hour. My husband got Barbaroa tacos and thought they were great. Tacos range $3-$5 per taco here. What I think I was most impressed by- was the Centro salad which is what I ordered. Salads usually are a total hit or miss at taco spots and this was a HIT big time. It didn't feel like a random thrown together bland mess that I usually experience when I take this risk. No, it was thoughtfully crafted with the ingredients. Loved the peanut sesame salsa on it- never had anything like it before. And the lettuce was fresh! Something I usually don't experience when I order a salad at a place known for tacos. I got mine with chicken Tinga and was totally impressed with the size of salad and portion of meat. I recommend for sure. Also just great vibes at this place. The patio is huge and energetic outside and inside is thoughtfully decorated too. Four stars because I felt it was pretty pricey per taco. read more

PRO TIP: Sign up for their rewards program and get a free Mexican pizza! OVERALL: Fast casual location with tasty drinks & decent tacos, not the worst but not the best! Likely I would only come back for the margarita pitcher. FOOD: We ordered a bit from centro and from vivir. I personally liked the vivir food better but I know they're connected/the same(?) the birria tacos were so juicy and their consome was flavorful. The burrito bowl (from centro) was flavorless and tasted solely like beans. This truly was inedible to me and my friends so 1/5 for the burrito bowl specifically. Everyone who ordered crunch wraps loved them! DRINKS: This is really what we came for. Margarita pitchers are a must! Their other cocktails are yummy as well. PRICE: Margarita pitcher is $35, tacos are about $5 each, crunch wraps are $10(?) SERVICE: I wish I could really comment on this but to be honest you just order on your phone and someone drops it off. Not consistent with who the person dropping it off is, and they don't ask if you need anything or if the food is good. Really not serviceable at all really since there's no interaction except the food drop. ATMOSPHERE: it's fun and colorful and usually busy. read more

What's not to like about this spot? Bright neon colors, industrial interior, a large array of tacos, and inventive cocktails! Stopped by before a show yesterday and had a great experience! Ordered a few cocktails (so yummy), chips and salsa (all the salsas had some heat), and an assortment of tacos and the acclaimed Munchwrap (a play on Taco Bell's Crunch wrap Supreme). Everything was so tasty, but I always go for the Pescado (fish) taco when I come by this spot! It never disappoints! My only feedback is that they bring everything out as soon as it's ready, so we had everything we ordered in 10 minutes, BUT our appetizer came before our drinks (not my favorite) and then each individual item we ordered came out at a different time. I would have preferred everything to come out at once! read more

If you're a fan of mezcal, this is the place to be. Good food and drinks. You can also order food from Vivir! We sat at the Centro bar and were able to order from both establishments. The DARK CARNITAS TACOS came with two tacos. It was good, not as flavorful as the other dishes I had. Wouldn't care to order again. Heard the BIRRIA TACOS are delicious, I'd order this next time. The CARNITAS IN ADOBO was a fav, would get this again next time...anything with grilled pineapple is a delight. YUCA FRIES are always really good, and it was yummy with the serrano ginger aioli. BRUSSELL SPROUTS were so good, would get again. That peanut sesame touch. We shared a MezCal/Tequila flight of 5. I like Mezcal cocktails, but don't have the palate for a tasting (I'm more of a sipping whisky gal). Ended up dumping what we couldn't finish into our cocktails. However, I did find the Bacanora Yoowe to be good and Sotol Por Siempre to be smooth. The WAHAKA FLOCKA is smooth and well rounded, waters down nicely. I liked the GUAVA GODDESS slushee, would come back for that, perfect for a warm day. There is also a small private tasting room for reservation in advance. They have a fun mezcal and food tasting. Was really excited to check this place out, especially since it is becoming so popular... Overall the ambiance was okay, we had gotten a seat closer to the back so we were close to the dumpsters by the neighboring building. But to their credit, the indoor seating was beautiful. As for the tacos, they were good but not worth the California like prices. The chips and salsas were my favorite, they tasted so fresh. Great menu, Instagrammable industrial vibes, server-less model is efficient only when the website works. Soooo I hate being the guy who can't make phone work. Which is a good thing I'm not. After inputting my order four times and trying to get the payment to process through 3 cards and ApplePay, my janky ass Discover card finally went through (yes Yelp, my other cards work and I entered everything properly as verified and tried by my dining companion).
