Such a great spot for some super tasty Mexican food! We were seated right away and were brought complimentary chips and salsa which is always a huge bonus. The restaurant is cute with nice music playing in the background giving it an upbeat vibe. The food came out quickly was so so tasty. The cactus and cheese tacos were incredible! They were filling, spicy, and beyond tasty. The menu has a lot more vegetarian options than I typically find at Mexican restaurants so it was really nice to have options. This place has been going downhill for a while now Ordered their mixed fajitas(steak and chicken)- it's supposed to come with rice , beans pico de gallo and sour cream We only got the rice and beans and the tortillas so we had to add all of our own salsas and cheese Also there was barely any flavor, sounds like in past reviews the food was over salted so now there is no taste! Teresa's Mexican Restaurant has been a stable fixture in Golden Valley (in the shopping center near the Byerly's) for many years. It is reliable place for good, sit-down Mexican/American food. The Golden Valley location is fairly large, and I've never had a problem getting a seat. It's attractively decorated, is comfortable, and I have found the service to be consistently good and accommodating. Personally, I am a big fan of their Fajitas, usually the chicken fajitas which comes on a sizzling plate, loaded with the usual chicken, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and sour cream. It comes with a side of Mexican rice and refried beans. My wife usually gets their very good street tacos. In addition, the chips and salsa, always included, is fresh and good. Like many restaurants these days, they charge extra to use a credit card, but you can avoid the charge by using a debit card or cash. read more

Came for an early lunch on a rainy day. I got a margarita and the Lindo's Special which was delicious but a little bit salty. Our waitress was very attentive and came by to check on a is a few times. The menu at Teresa's has quite the variety but I chose to get their Pick 2 with a chimichanga and quesadilla, which also came with rice and beans. Everything I ate was good and I even finished my entire plate. Was it the best Mexican food I've ever had? No, but it did what it needed to do. Got to go back after 4 years not being in Minnesota full tome. Food is just as excellent as I remember the steak they use for the steak quesadilla have this pepper kick that is hard to describe but is awesome. Wife loved the arroz con pollo as always. Interior hadn't changed and hadn't gotten worse looked like how we remembered it. Added to the nostalgia. Service early Sunday was slow. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks, with only 1-2 tables other than ours occupied. All in all the food makes this place for a winner for good and classic Tex Mex. read more

I've come here a handful of times for dinner and this time I just came for drinks and dessert. The service is always pretty good - everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff, and bussers. The food however isn't amazing, don't get me wrong - it's good but doesn't really stand out. It's also pretty expensive. This time I got the raspberry frozen margarita and it was ok. It didn't seem very strong at all. The chimicheesecake was fun, pretty tasty but kind of wish I went without it. Wow-za. Definitely lived up to the hype! Every single thing I had was next level tasty! I had a Paloma that was unbelievably smooth and tasty!! I had Al Pastor street tacos which, again, were soooo good. Fresh, tasty, juicy! Even the beans and rice on the side were better than any I've had! Free chips and salsa of course, but trust me, DON'T fill up on them hahaha. Prices were fine! $10 for the cocktail, $14 for 3 tacos and sides. Happy hour weekdays 4-6. We often come to Teresa's restaurant. We love the casual dining, particularly love their salsa, and usually anything we order. Unfortunately, this time, everything we ordered from enchiladas to taco's to tostadas to black bean soup, all of it was way too salty. I actually had to discard the black bean soup due to the excess saltiness. So disappointing. It made us both say, this may no longer be one of our favorite watering holes to enjoy. Please reduce the saltiness of your food, and the tortillas were on the edge of burned. This is never what we have experienced here before. I hope you heed the review. read more

I love the happy hour here! The $5 margaritas are a generous size and very tasty (probably a little light on the tequila but still good). The menu is plentiful and took me awhile to decide what to order. Since I happen to be here during happy hour I tried the carne asada fries which was more than enough for a stand-alone meal. However, next time I think I will ask for no jalapeños and no bacon. The decor is very blah but the service was nice. Overall it's a nice homey Mexican restaurant. I will be back! read more

I just had one of the worst meals I've had in a very long time or ever at Theresa's mexican restaurant in Golden Valley on Duluth Street. It is located on the opposite end of Byerly's in the mall on Duluth street. I ordered the Fajita omelet with the southwestern potatoes, I ordered the combination steak and chicken for the meat. I got overcooked food swimming in grease and salt, the meat was gristle, there was no chicken, only whatever they were calling steak but was hunks of gristle that I couldn't even chew. The eggs were overcooked and the only seasoning they must of used was salt, which was overused and there was a pool of grease around the whole dish. The potatoes were just overly deep-fried hashbrowns, pre-frozen potatoes. I tore it apart looking for some chicken and did eat several bites but sent the rest back. The waitress never asked me if the meal was okay or if she could bring me something else, needless to say I wont be going back there. read more

I stopped by and ordered takeout. This is my first visit ever. I was told the food was great. I ordered 2 pick 2 combo (12.00) Special Burrito I got home sat down to eat. The Burrito was too salty. I was like okay. I then tried the chicken Quesidilia. The same thing. This was on 07/14/2025 just before noon. I immediately attempted to call them but, no answer. Okay, it was lunchtime. I called later that day. I left my number for the manager to call call me. No call. I called today 07/16/2025. I was told the manager was not there and to call back. I even left a tip. No more tips for me on takeout. I have been in the fence about tips for takeout. I'm frustrated. I should not spend $35.00 for food saturated with salt. Fun place for families or date night. This place has an amazing happy hour menu from 2-6pm and 9pm- close. Some good finds that will leave you wanting more of this terrific place. Margs are $5 during happy hour and the trick is to get it 1/2 frozen 1/2 on the rocks NO ICE! It's the only way to enjoy their margs. If you are in the mood for beef or shredded tacos (hard or soft) get the 2 happy hour tacos for $6. Super good comes with lettuce and cheese and you will be full. I would recommend the soft. If you are really hungry get the al a carte tacos soft with grilled chicken, it comes with lettuce and cheese and there are 3 nice size tacos to devour. Better yet - if you want grilled chicken tacos get the 2 quesadillas off the happy hour and there you go you have what you want. You will get charged extra for the grilled chicken but your tortilla will be nice and crispy and you will get sour cream, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Now you know all the favorites and tricks...but one more. The WINGS - yes get the habanero sauce and your will get the hot sweats. They really are decent. The chips and salsa are great. This is for sure one of the better "standard" Mexican restaurants in the cities. They have amazing chips and salsa brought out to your table straight away and they keep on coming if you want them! We almost filled up by the time we got our main dishes! All the food was incredible. With the chips, I split a chimichanga and that was plenty of food. I forgot to get a picture as we devoured it right away the service was also very prompt even with our big table and were very polite. The place doesn't look super special but they have a cool fish tank and it gives off traditional Mexican restaurant vibes. Definitely need to come back! read more

The carne asada fries were soggy & had weird pieces of bacon. There were 2 types of bacon, long soggy thin pieces or big thick chunks that were very tough. Salsa and queso were watery. My family and I live near the Golden Valley Teresa's. The food is typically very good, I'd say 90-something percent of the time. It seems like every now and then the food is under seasoned. . . My wife and I usually get the "Pick Two", which includes two individual items of your choice with rice and beans, all for close to $11.00. They also provide free chips and salsa upon being seated, which are very good. I always have to be careful not to eat too many chips. The place is clean and service is always good. The interior is semi dark and quite pleasant. The parking lot is large and it's easy to get to, being right off of HWY 100 at Duluth Street. I'm glad it's in my neighborhood. read more

This is a great authentic Mexican food restaurant! They have daily specials so check online for them. We came on a Wednesday at 5:30 and got seated right away. They were very accommodating and let us switch seats. Wednesday is all day happy hour. Margaritas are five dollars! Then they have a select few appetizers at a discounted price. They bring you chips and salsa right away. I tried the texas fajitas. It comes out a sizzling hot plate that smells amazingggg. They were perfect in every way. Ugh so tasty! It' comes with three tortillas which wasn't enough. I had plenty of filling left to take home but no tortillas. Oh well, I have some tortillas at home I can use. I just want to share my experience yesterday when I visited your restaurant for dinner. It has me upset even today. I ordered my meal and asked for a hard shell taco. It arrived as a soft shell so I asked to return it. I was shocked when it came back as the flour tortilla cooked hard with same taco meat. I retuned it saying this isn't a hard shell taco. Waitress seemed annoyed. She retuned with a smaller taco shell with same meat inside! I could tell it wasn't same taco shell that I would normally get as I have ordered this before! It was like a child size taco. In any event I gave her allocated tip even though I didn't think this was good customer service. This is one of my favorite places to go to get good food and a good margarita. The staff is always really friendly and efficient. The food comes out super quickly. They have a nice variety of seating including a bar to sit and watch sports or the dining room with bigger tables. The parking lot is huge and makes it convenient to stop in and get some food. I get the enchiladas verdes every time and it's always really good. They have really good happy hour deals on food and drinks as well. I went here for my aunts birthday dinner a few weeks ago. It's a typical Mexican restaurant. the place was packed, but the absolute lightning speed our waitress not only took our order and the kitchen got our food out. The whole thing took about 10 minutes when I was easily expecting a minimum of 20+ minutes. My order was wrong, but it was still very good, absolutely covered in queso. You can easily get two meals from whatever dish you order there, so a nice bonus not cooking the following night. read more

My family loves Mexican food and we had been here in the past but tonight's experience was will probably be our last. First, the food was Ok but we asked twice for more chips and got none. And the order was messed up with food coming out, out of order. Such as appetizers after the main meals. Service was poor, especially for a half empty restaurant at 7pm. The waiter never asked if we wanted refills on drinks, never brought water out for the toddler. We were there celebrating my grandson's 12 birthday and mentioned a few different times we were celebrating. No celebration here. He did get a dessert offered after my daughter went up front and complained. But never again will we come here for a celebration. Staff was poorly organized. Worst meal i ever had! Went there on Cinco De Mayo with my daughter. Ordered an enchilada with chicken. Saddest meal I have ever seen! 2 small, white flour tortillas with diced up chicken. So dull! No spice or flavor at all. The sauce (I ordered on the side) tasted just like Campbells tomato soup! Even my daughter thought so. I got a plate full of lettuce and some diced tomatoes. I asked for some cheese (which I thought an enchilada would have already). And I was brought some cold, white cheese that was very bland also for an extra $2.00. I love Mexican food! And don't usually write bad reviews but this was sooo bad I just had too. I paid about $20 for a meal that didn't fill me up or was the least bit impressive! I give this place three stars because of the accommodating staff. I found them to be personable and prompt. The food is bland, filling TexMex offered up in generous portions and, while prices are not a bargain in my opinion they are reasonable. Definitely better when fresh, everything seems to become a largely indistinguishable vaguely Mexican mush as leftovers. Even when piping hot and visually more appealing the cuisine is average at best. I had a Chimichanga and the Enchiladas Rancheros (with pulled pork). A local favorite of ours, the best comfort food. Just about everything on the menu is a different combination of the same things, but it's yummy. Prices are reasonable, margaritas are strong, and I've never been disappointed by the service.
