    Shrimp tacos with cactus. Horchata.
    Shaun J.

Wow! What a gem. If you're new like me or haven't been by lately, make sure to park in the back and enter there. There's only one way in and there's a greeter/security guard there. The Mercado is huge and has everything you might need. I even found fajita spice mix which you're not going to find in most grocery stores. I also found cactus which I have never found in a store. I included a picture to mess with my wife who just isn't into cactus. We ordered supper at the kiosk and it came up pretty quickly. We also took advantage of donating a platter for someone in need. There was plenty of seating. My kid got quesadillas and I got shrimp tacos with, of course, cactus. Which, by the way, is very tasty. We also got horchatas. So good. Every day is better with horchata. Everyone was so friendly. It's a great place.

Great place for groceries and a bite to eat! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect spot for a quick lunch and to grab a bunch of salsas for snacks of the week. I love being able to buy fresh salsa at small quantities so you can try different types. Also grabbed some limes and lemons on my way out. Parking at the back of the building!

I visited this place yesterday (again) and when I say I'm obsessed with their salsa bar, I'm obsessed! There are is such a great variety - salsas, guacs, and ceviches! I went there to grab some salsa for a friend get together today. This Mercado also has a restaurant that I need to come back and try some time! So many good authentic Mexican ingredients and food... a truly warm atmosphere and very fun to check out! Service was great and the staff was so appreciative of me stopping in to shop! It was busy!! These small businesses need us right now so I feel it's a great way to support them during these difficult times.

Great variety of fresh produce and groceries! I had a great time checking out the variety, and people were very friendly/chatty as well. I also loved all the artwork in the store, will be returning for gifts, and grocery shopping again. Definitely check out their prepped meals section, they've got some great options for a quick dinner pickup!

This is such a gem in the community. I love their salsa bar so much; chips and salsa (my favorite snack) is my kryptonite. The salsas here do not disappoint, and there are so many delicious ones to choose. The enchilada casserole was a great value at $8.75 for a massive slice. It tasted like Mexican lasagna. The attached market is full of good finds, too. I come here to get masa harina, corn husks, and other supplies for Mexican cookery at home. The staff here are welcoming. Tip: There is a parking lot in the back.

Amazing bakery, quick grab deli, wonderful meat department. The staff is friendly. The store has both groceries and beautiful crafts, piñatas and handmade accessories for the home. Their restaurant is attached with a beautiful patio area in warmer weather. A must see visit

Really great market! Organized and very clean. I was impressed by the selections. Also with their grab and go section. I ended up getting their famous guacamole and chips. Perfection! The guac lasted 4 days in the fridge without getting brown. I also picked up some green rice and made burrito bowls at home. The rice was flavorful and I will be back for it! They have their own lot behind the building and someone was selling elote from a tent in the back. I will get that next time. They were closed when I was leaving.

Tucked in this Mexican tienda is a nice restaurant with both quick serve and seated/bar options! They've got a chicken mole that is fork tender chicken and rich mole sauce. Delicious. And a huge portion. Their Mexican rice is plain with no veggies, which I like. My girlfriend had the enchiladas of the day (cheese). Unfortunately she said that the cheese was cold inside unfortunately, but otherwise good. Prices aren't cheap for a Mexican place but also aren't bad. I would say moderate.

What a fun store to visit! El Burrito Mercado is truly a little slice of Mexico right here in the Twin Cities. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by vibrant colors, delicious aromas, and a wide variety of authentic Mexican foods. From fresh meats and produce to ready-to-eat deli favorites, it feels like taking a mini vacation for your senses. I picked up a big bag of their freshly made tortilla chips and several salsas to share at a game night with friends, and they were a huge hit! Everyone had their favorite -- with lively debate over the Salsa Verde, the Mixa Salsa, and the Black Bean Pico-style Salsa. Every one of them was bursting with fresh, bold flavor. The bakery section is also a delight, featuring an impressive selection of traditional Mexican baked goods. The Día de los Muertos bread cake was absolutely beautiful, and the conchas were light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. Although I didn't eat in the on-site restaurant, judging by the quality of everything in the deli, I'm sure it's outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -- they even helped me pronounce a few Spanish words and find the perfect salsa combo for my event. Overall, El Burrito Mercado is more than just a store -- it's an experience. If you haven't been, you absolutely need to go!

Love this place! Everything you need for Mexican food and groceries. Extensive fresh pastries, deli, restaurant, bar, butcher shop, groceries, and a patio with live music. What's not to love?? For food, you can order at the counter or kiosk. But there's also a full service restaurant and bar off to the side. So many fresh pastries to choose from, so hard to pick. Everyone I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back whenever I'm in this part of the twin cities.

El Burrito Mercado is a vibrant and lively market! There is a wide variety of foods and merchandise for sale. The employees are helpful and friendly. I've purchased some grocery items here which were all fresh and I've recently tried their street tacos which were flavorful. I like that you can purchase prepared food items so you can assemble a meal at home or take it easy and order from the restaurant. They have something for everyone here!

El Burrito Mercado is a must stop if you are visiting the West St Paul neighborhood! The market has tons of authentic goodies and the restaurant has some of the best Mexican food in Minnesota! The place is alive with vibrant colors and staff were super friendly. The food was hot and fresh and came out quickly. We have ordered a few times for pickup as well as eaten inside at the handful of tables. Never been disappointed in our trip. There is a parking lot in the back or street parking available.

This is a fully fledged grocery store along with a cantina inside where you order at the counter. The woman who helped me out was incredibly sweet and my husband said these were the best steak tacos he had.

Am I able to order any pastries, cookies, or salsa online? I only see a menu that features entrees and some appetizers, but none of the items I'm asking about, in spite of the pastries being illustrated in their photos. Thanks.

Guisado - what exactly is it? I saw the sign at the cafe for Guisado, it says mix of beef, pork, chicken but when I order Huarache Platter with guisado, the lady behind the counter asked me what meat do I want. Is it a combination of meats?

My understanding as well is that it is a mix, stew of different meats, traditionally it was what a house would have on hand. I wonder if they asked because you have a choice of different stewed meat? Some prefer one meat tacos, maybe that's why they… Read more
